This is a spiritual successor to my ,for you, my little rusty" piece. It's not necessary to read before reading this fic, but. You know. If you have a Warrior's Heart, you might as well.

The beginning of this fic takes place sometime during Into the Wild, after Firepaw joins ThunderClan. Specifically, the beginning of this fic takes place during a training session Bluestar's having with Firepaw as her apprentice. There will likely be subtle and not so-subtle references to other works in the series as well, (I'm thinking of Bluestar's Prophecy, for example.) Anyway. I plan on posting more chapters, so make sure to follow this story if you're interested in reading more.

As to how quickly I'll update, I literally don't know.

"You think you know what it means to be a cat, Rusty?!" Bluestar shrieks.

The tom in question pants.

"You don't know a thing," Bluestar booms.

"Firestar."

——

"Ugh," Firepaw mewls as he approaches the Apprentices' den.

Graypaw blinks. "What's wrong?"

"Well… a lot of things!" Firepaw meows as he enters the den. "For starters, Bluestar showed no mercy while we were training today."

"Also…" Firepaw mumbles under his breath, "for some reason, at some point during training, she called me by my old name… and she called me Fire… she called me Firestar!"

Sandpaw laughs from the other end of the den.

"You?" Sandpaw laughs. "Firestar?"

"Don't laugh, Sandpaw…" Firepaw moans.

"It's not funny!"

"It is." Sandpaw purrs. "How can it not be? It's hilarious you actually think Bluestar would call you /Firestar/ of all things."

You haven't been a Clan cat for very long, but it seems that the stress of Clan life is already getting deep to you. But stress still isn't a good reason to be delusional and make false, bold statements like /that/."

"I'm telling the truth!" Firepaw insists. "I wouldn't be making this stuff up!"

Sandpaw chuckles, her tail lashing back and forth.

"Whatever you say, kittypet."
