The title of this fic is a direct reference to Revolutionary Girl Utena. It's not necessary to watch that show in order to understand this fic, but I highly recommend you give it a watch anyway. A lot of this fic is inspired by it.

I like to think that in this fic, Shoto, Izuku and Bakugo, look like the versions of themselves from the second ending of the second season of My Hero Academia. Only you know. Imagine Izuku with a more feminine figure and eyelashes, seeing that she's a girl in this fic. (cis). For the sake of this story's themes, I've explained away their appearance in this here Author's Note instead of adding a detailed description of they way they look into the story itself. I have my reasons for doing this. (And no, it isn't laziness...Okay, maybe it is, a little.)

Once upon a time, in a distant land, there lived a prince.

His name was Shōto Todoroki.

He was eleven years of age, and although the prince had almost everything his heart desired, he was very lonely.

So one day, he requested of his parents that he be provided a friend.

And so his family provided him one.

Enter Izuku Midoriya; an eleven-year old peasant girl adopted from the kingdom's local orphanage for the sole purpose of befriending Shouto.

She would never be considered royalty, but she was still considered a valuable addition to the royal family, regardless.

She was Shōto's best, and only friend. Her sole purpose was to be his companion. And it stayed that way up until they turned twelve.

And even though Izuku knew a peasant girl like her could never marry Shōto one day, she vowed that she'd always be there to support him in any way she could.

It was the least she could do for the royal family; the family that had taken her in when no one else would.

——

She was twelve when she fell in love.

It was during autumn. A season rich with meaning, a season that steals the sultry heat of the summer sun.

Izuku was twelve, alone in her room, sitting on her bed, crying, until Shōto opened the door and entered. He blinked, surprised by what he saw.

"Why are you crying, Izuku?"

Izuku sniffled. "Because... Living with the royal family is such a blessing... I don't know what I did to deserve it... I'm so... thankful..."

"Why the tears, though?" He asked.

"Because I'm happy..." Izuku replied. "But I'm also sad, because I know not everyone is as lucky as me...I'm so... so, blessed..."

Her prince's eyes saddened. He then walked over to her, wrapped her in a rose-scented embrace, and gently wiped the tears from her eyes.

He then whispered in her ear. "Izuku... growing up alone in such deep sorrow... Never lose that strength or nobility, even when you become a young woman."

He then pulled away and gave her a kind smile. "Do you think you can do that for me, Izuku?"

Their lips would never touch, but his kiss that day would remain forever in her memory.

Izuku sniffled. "Of course, prince Shōto."

—————

At age sixteen, Shoto realized that he loved Izuku, and wanted her more than anyone.

It didn't matter to him that she didn't possess royal blood. It infuriated him that his parents wanted him to wed another.

No. Izuku Midoriya was his. He would never allow her to wed another.

Even if it meant putting together a wicked game.

——-

At the age of seventeen, Shoto disappeared.

Theories emerged within the Kingdom as to what happened to him. His parents, family, and subjects grieved.

None as much as Izuku, though.

But she would find out what happened to him.

Even if it meant making a deal with evil.

——-

In order to find him, she needed to assemble a team.

Those were her thoughts as she trekked through the Kingdom's cursed forest, days after Shoto's disappearance.

And the first member to join would be a certain red-eyed demon.

Deep in the forest on the outskirts of the kingdom, dwelled a boy.

A boy who was feared and shunned by all.

A demon, they called him. One of Satan's children.

Katsuki Bakugo

Regardless, Izuku found herself treading through this forest to find him.

After hours of walking, she found a cave.

Not just a cave.

It was the cave where the monstrous boy was said to dwell.

Her first instinct to was enter it, but…

Fear plagued her.

She knew next to nothing about demons. She only knew that she wanted to save Shoto, bring him back to the Kingdom, by any means necessary.

She sighed.

Shoto… she thought to herself.

I promise I will save you.

I promise.

Izuku straightened her shirt, lit a torch, and entered the cave.

Or at least, tried to, before someone appeared behind her and placed a hand on her shoulder. She flinched and dropped her torch. Its flame went out.

"What are you doing?" The voice asked.

Izuku dashed forward, whirled around and brandished her sword.

"Stay back!" She yelled. "Or I'll—-"

A blond boy, with fair skin and red eyes, who looked no older than she is, stared back at her.

Izuku nearly dropped her sword.

"You're the demon boy." She whispered.

Katsuki Bakugō.

It's the boy she was looking for, but a demon. She was still scared despite the fact that she set out to find him specifically.

"I'm a demon, yes." He pushed her sword with the tip of his forefinger slightly downwards. "Now, who are you , and what makes you think you have the right to enter my cave? And for the record, that sword of yours only has meaning if you know how to use it."

Izuku sheathed her sword, but her stance remained cautious.

"I didn't come here to fight." She said, "I need your help."

Katsuki's eyes narrowed. "Help?"

Izuku nodded.

"My prince—Er, I mean." She shook her head. "The prince of the kingdom, Shōto Todoroki, has gone missing. And I need you to help me find him."

Katsuki was silent for a moment.

Izuku prayed that he was considering her request, and that he wouldn't laugh at her.

He disappointed.

"HAH!" Katsuki laughed, tears spilling from his eyes. "Would you believe that?"

Izuku glared. "Why, you…!"

"I'm sorry," Katsuki brushed his tears, "This is just too hilarious. A woman I've never met wants me to save the missing Prince, a prince that I've never cared about in the first place, and expects that I'll do it at the drop of a hat. Sorry, girlie, but—- this is just too hysterical."

"If you're not gonna help her," a voice intervened. Izuku and Katsuki blinked.

"Then I will."

Izuku's eyes widened.

A brown-haired maiden, with brown eyes fairer than any she'd ever seen, stood behind Katsuki.

"Who are you?" Izuku squeaked.

The maiden smiled.

"I'm Uraraka Ochaco," the maiden grinned.

Izuku blanched. "Uraraka Ochaco… wait. Uraraka Ochaco, the WITCH OF THIS FOREST?!?"

"That's right!" Uraraka sung.

"But… why would you help me?" Izuku asked nervously.

"Yeah." Katsuki's eyes narrowed at Uraraka. "Why would you help some girl you've never met?"

Ochaco smiled. "Because I too, I am a maiden who, like you, dreams of who living out a star-crossed and blood-rushed and cheeks-flushed adventure."

Ochaco stuck out her tongue. "But unlike you, Izuku. There's no man I'm interested in claiming in the heart of. I swing the other way."

She then flashed Izuku a suggestive look. Izuku blinked, feeling a blush rise to her cheeks.

Katsuki clicked his tongue.

"I may be a demon," Katsuki clenched his teeth, "but I hate. Fags."

"Well, I hate demons," Ochaco hummed, "but you don't see me bitching about it."

Katsuki glared.

"So." Ochaco beamed. "Why don't you be a good demon, Bakugo, and help this precious girl? Because if you don't… Well. It's all the more reason to further my advances towards her."

Izuku blushed. "H-hey..! I don't swing that way…!"

"You say that now," Ochaco hummed, "but by the end of this journey… we'll be together. I guarantee it."

At Ochaco's words, Izuku blushed stark red, and Katsuki /snarled/.

"That's…" Izuku gulped. "I'm, I…"

Izuku gripped her pants tightly.

"I love another." Izuku replied as she stared at the ground.

"That's alright." Ochaco hummed, amber eyes warm, glowing in spite of the dark of the forest.

"Now then!" Ochaco sung, clasping her hands together. "Don't we have a prince to save?"

Izuku's forest eyes glittered, hope blooming in her chest.

Katsuki snorted. "Women."
