A/N: What if Puck and Kurt were sent to Dalton Academy together?

Chapter 1: Goodbye, William McKinley

Noah Puckerman and Kurt Hummel were in rooms across the hall from each other, unpacking their things, when Blaine Anderson walked into Kurt's room and helped him unpack. Then Kurt and Blaine help Noah unpack before he teases, "Man, Kurt, I better not hear anything going on in your room at night."

Kurt glares at Noah and says, "That is not allowed here, Puck. Gees, I wish Principal Figgins didn't suggest to your mom that you go here now."

Noah sighs, saying, "A judge ordered me to come here, Kurt. Principal Figgins and my mom agreed that it was better than Juvi. Plus, they have an anger management class here. I don't like it any more than you, Kurt, but it's only for two years. Besides, being away from Finn for two years might be good for me after the whole baby gate thing."

Kurt sighs and says, "When Finn learned you were coming here, he and Santana fought. Finn said he didn't care if you ever came back. Puck, we were never really friends, but I will not turn my back on you."

Soon a bell chimes, and then Blaine says, "Time for supper. Come on, Puck. I'll introduce you to the guys."

As Noah ate with Blaine and Kurt, he said, "So, Blaine, why didn't I get a mentor yet? I know you got chosen to be Kurt's when he started here last year."

Blaine clears his throat and says, "Come on, Puck, you've cased this place enough to know the layout. Besides, your mom wouldn't agree to it. So, Burt suggested Kurt be your mentor." Then Kurt choked on his food as Noah chuckled.

After supper, Noah tries to call Finn on his cell phone, but gets no answer. Then he heard Kurt yell, "Finn, talk to Puck! I'm not getting in the middle of this! Take that back! Puck did not come here to turn gay, Finn! That is the dumbest, the most insensitive thing you could say!"

Soon, Noah heard a knock at the door and went to open it, seeing Kurt with a mad look on his face. Kurt storms in and yells, "How you and Finn became friends is beyond me. He thinks you want to come between Blaine and me."

Noah texts Finn as he says to Kurt, "I had to remind him that I will be here until I graduate. Kurt, I will go to jail if I don't do my two years here. Kurt, I don't want to be a deadbeat like my dad. Being here may suck, but if I don't get my grades up, I could be repeating my senior year at McKinley. People already think I am a loser. I don't need failure added to that."

Kurt chuckles as he says, "This is the most we have talked to each other without biting each other's heads off. God, Puck, I hope Finn gets over what Quinn did soon."

Noah lightly hits Kurt's shoulder as he says, "I don't have a chick to impress here. You and The Hobbit are the only guys I know here."

Noah then looks at a picture of Beth on his desk, asking, "Do you think she will remember me?"

Kurt frowns and says, "No, Puck. There is always the possibility of finding someone with whom to have more children. I will have to either adopt or have Quinn be my surrogate."

Noah then turns his back to Kurt and says, "I think you need to leave, Kurt." Kurt could tell Noah was about to cry but said nothing as he left.

Noah and Kurt were in a lot of classes together. Noah even auditioned for a spot on the Warblers. Noah didn't think he had a chance because of the Glee club rivalry. Noah chose a song he sang secretly for Quinn, "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" by Elvis Presley.

Noah didn't even wait to hear if he got in and went to his room. Kurt and Blaine went to Noah's room together and heard him talking on his cell, saying, "Quinn, I know you still love me! I'm doing all this for you! I love you, Quinn. I will do whatever it takes to get you back!"

When Kurt and Blaine entered Noah's room, Noah was at his desk, writing something. Blaine was the one who told Noah he got in. Noah looks at Blaine as he says, "I need to talk to Kurt alone. Don't worry. I won't try to steal him from you, man. I only want his advice on something."

Noah was still writing as he said, "If you are going home this weekend, I need you to give Quinn something for me. I would do it myself, but I can't face her now. Kurt, I know you don't want to be in the middle of this, but I can't risk going to jail." He then puts the letter he wrote in an envelope and hands it to Kurt.

That weekend, Kurt went to Quinn's to give her the letter from Noah. As Quinn reads the letter, Kurt tries to read Quinn's face.

Dear Quinn,

I will never stop loving you. It doesn't matter if you love me or not. I love you. I will do whatever it takes to prove I'm not a loser. Quinn, you might regret what we did and think I ruined your life. You made me see that I should grow up.

I know I'm not Finn or what your parents wanted in a boyfriend. All I can offer you is my love. Quinn, I've never loved anyone the way I love you. I don't want to lose you, Quinn. Please forgive me.

Forever yours, Puck

Quinn ripped the letter up, telling Kurt, "Tell Puck it doesn't matter what he does. I will never forgive him."

Kurt slaps Quinn and says, "Quinn, this past week, I have seen a change in Puck. You and Finn might hate him, but I consider him a friend now, and I hate how you treat Puck. He is trying to change. Quinn, give him a chance." Quinn says nothing and points to the door before Kurt leaves.

On Sunday night, when Kurt returns, he goes to Noah's room and checks on him. Noah was at his desk doing his homework, while Blaine was sitting on Noah's bed, also doing his homework. Then Noah says, "Finn called me before you got here. I know Quinn won't forgive me. I asked Blaine to see that I didn't lose my cool and do something stupid. Finn and Quinn are making it hard for me to control my anger."

Soon Kurt gets a call from Finn and answers, yelling, "Finn, we have all our classes together! I can't stay away from him! Finn, I'm never going back there, and neither is Puck! We are happy here, away from you and those who don't accept us! That's not what I meant, Finn! Not every guy here is gay, Finn!" Kurt ends the call as Noah chuckles.

As Noah finishes his homework, he says, "Man, I know I acted worse when I had you spy on this place, but it sounds like Finn is being a real dick. I'm sorry for all I did to you, and if you tell anyone this, I will deny it, but I like art class." Then Noah shows Kurt a pencil drawing of Beth.

Noah looks out the window as he gets up, saying, "I like it here, Kurt. I don't have girls fighting over me; nobody calls me a loser behind my back; and I can be myself here. I could do that in glee club, and as you said, when I got here. We are getting along better here. Don't tell Finn this, but you became my best friend."

As Kurt laughed, he said, "I honestly thought you wouldn't survive your first week here. Now I'm hoping you attend regionals. Although you've only been here eight days, I've had better treatment since you arrived. Well, Sebastian is still trying to separate me from Blaine. Finn told me last night. You saw them at the Lima Bean several times before you started coming here." Then Kurt yawns and goes to his room.

In the morning, Noah goes to the cafeteria and sees Sebastian kissing Blaine. Noah guides Kurt to the cafeteria as he gasps. Noah could tell Blaine was surprised by the kiss and that Sebastian did it to get under Kurt's skin. Kurt couldn't look at Blaine all day, and Noah was fighting the urge to fight Sebastian. Sebastian got written up for provoking Noah's or Kurt's anger, but it never stopped him.

Soon, Sebastian was being transferred to William McKinley, and Rachel or Santana were blowing up Noah's or Kurt's phones about Sebastian bullying his way into the glee club. Even Finn started calling them to complain, but Kurt and Noah didn't want to hear it because they were happy at Dalton. They missed their friends, but now that Sebastian was there, there was no way they were going back. Not with Dave Karofsky and Sebastian Smythe being there.

A month later, Santana sends them a picture of Dave and Sebastian kissing in the boy's locker room. Along with the message, "Dave is in glee club now, and Miss Pillsbury is over glee after Mr. Schue quit," They already knew about Will's quitting because he was a new teacher at Dalton Academy.

Kurt told Santana about Will working there. He also told her about Noah becoming the new lead singer for the Warblers. Santana didn't believe it and thought Kurt was joking. It wasn't until Regionals that Santana found out Kurt was telling the truth. Noah kept his eyes on Quinn as he sang the lead on "Always On My Mind" by Elvis Presley.

Noah tried to talk to Quinn before New Directions were about to go on, but Quinn ignored him. The rest of the night was a blur, but Noah was glad that, thanks to him, the Warblers won. Noah, Blaine, and Kurt laugh when they see Santana yelling at Sebastian about how it was his fault that New Directions lost as they head to the bus.

That night, Noah got a text from Quinn saying, "I missed you, Puck. I'm sorry." But Noah ignored it and finished his homework. Quinn tried to call or text Noah for days, but he wouldn't respond.

One day, Quinn arrives at Dalton Academy during Noah and Kurt's free period, during which the Warblers usually practice. After kissing Noah, Quinn said, "I love you, Puck. I'm sorry."

As Noah picked up Quinn, he twirled her around. Then he adds, "I forgive you. I love you too." Quinn didn't stay long, and Noah promised to come down with Kurt that weekend before she left.

That weekend didn't last after Finn commented on Kurt and Noah sharing a bed at Dalton. They knew Sebastian had to be the one who told Finn that, but neither could stay because of how Finn acted about their new friendship. Burt and Carole tried to reason with Finn, but he wouldn't listen.

Quinn started going to see Noah at Dalton after that. She would bring Mercedes with her every other weekend. Mercedes and Quinn were in the courtyard, one weekend with Noah and Kurt. When Mercedes says, "Sebastian is like a male version of Her, and we still don't have a choir director because of him," Sebastian won't let anyone else sing lead and fights with Rachel daily. God, Puck, I know you are court-ordered to be here, but we all miss you guys."

Kurt looks at Blaine, who just sat beside him, and says, "I heard from Rachel that Karosky and Sebastian are like a bullying power couple after Karosky came out."

Noah chuckled at this, and Quinn explained, "Sebastian has taken Kurt's spot on the football team, and Coach Beiste can barely handle him. McKinley is not the same without you."

Then, Noah stands up and says, "I think you guys need to leave," before heading to the counselor's office.

After an hour, Kurt and Blaine went to Noah's room and saw a bunch of pencil drawings of Quinn holding Beth. Noah does not look up from his desk as he says, "Kurt, if you go back, Karofsky will kill you. Sebastian wants you dead and wants Blaine to himself. He told Finn that after he got transferred. Sebastian is just using Karofsky as his patsy." Kurt and Blaine go to their rooms to study and don't say anything.

Noah and Kurt went home for Thanksgiving. Noah was surprised when he learned his sister Sarah was living with Burt and Carole. When he asked where his mother, Norah, was, Burt took him to the hospital, where Norah was lying in a coma. As Noah looks at Norah, Burt says, "Norah was hit by a car last week. Puck, Dave is in Juvie."

Burt could tell Noah was fighting the urge to throw things around and thought Noah reminded him of himself. Before he could say a word, Noah said, "You're right, Mr. H, we are alike. We were both bullies. We met a girl we wanted to change for and had to prove we were not the people we used to be. I will see this through to the end and show everyone that I am not like my dad." Norah woke up on Thanksgiving Day and confirmed what everybody already knew. Sebastian Smythe was the one who hit her. Despite this, he didn't get arrested since he fled to France.

Noah and Kurt were shocked when Sebastian returned to Dalton Academy, and Will decided to return to William McKinley. Not long after this, Dave attempts suicide and ends up in the hospital. Noah was the first to figure out that Sebastian drove Dave to try to kill himself. Noah then took Kurt to see Dave in the hospital. When Noah saw Dave in his hospital bed, he said, "Man, you could have been straight up with Kurt without being such a douchebag. Neither of us helped him when we went to McKinley together. However, coming out sooner might have helped you make friends."

Dave chuckles as he jokes, "So, when are you going to come out, man?" while Kurt tries to stifle his laughter as Noah glares at him.

Dave then fist bumps Kurt as he says, "Finn still thinks you two are going behind Blaine's back, and by the way, Kurt. Sebastian isn't the only one who likes Blaine. Look. I know he is your guy, but he helped me get over you, and don't worry, I'm good now. One more thing: Sebastian is still stalking you two. I know he's using me now, and despite that, I want him. It's one of the reasons I'm here. I was cyber bullied after I came out and when Sebastian dumped me. I couldn't take it anymore."

Then he looked at Noah as he asked Kurt, "Did you ever feel that bad before joining New Directions?"

Even though the question was for Kurt, Noah answered, saying, "Yes."

Noah sighs as he looks at Kurt and says, "I felt like a loser for years before I got Quinn pregnant. My dad was hardly in the picture, and when he left, I blamed myself. I hate being poor white trash, and I used the rumors about me to make people like me. I knew Quinn was Finn's girlfriend, but being with her made me happy. I don't care if I go to a school that doesn't have chicks anymore. Attending Dalton made me realize what I wanted to do after graduation. I want to go into the Navy."

Dave and Kurt chuckle before Dave teases, "If you are trying to get Finn to think you are still straight, I doubt that will help."

Noah punches Dave on the shoulder and says, "Finn wants to join the army, and besides, Mr. H is the only dad in my life. It might help me be worse than him in a good way when I have another daughter."

Kurt glares at Noah before shaking his head. Then he says, "I'm so glad I never had a crush on you, Puck. But I doubt Quinn will let you be that bad. We were best friends when I was on the Cheerios."

Kurt glares at Noah as he teases, "Says the person who tried to take Finn from her by getting your parents together." Then Dave and Noah laughed uncontrollably.

When they return to Dalton, they hear moaning in Blaine's room. Then Jeff is heard saying, "Boss, don't you think this is going too far? Puck would never rape Blaine."

Then Sebastian says, "That gutter rat doesn't belong here. Nor does Kurt. Now, shove that bat deeper into Blaine!"

Soon, Kurt tries to open Blaine's door, but it is locked. Then Noah says, "Kurt, move, I got this!" It takes Noah three tries to bust down the door, and everybody runs out as headmaster Michael Young walks by when Noah blocks Sebastian from leaving with the bat in his hand.

Sebastian tries to blame Noah, but after hearing Blaine moan, saying, "No, boss, please stop!" Mike wasn't falling for Sebastian's lies again.

Noah and Kurt went to the hospital with Blaine and Blaine's father, Patrick, and Noah had him put in Norah's room. As Noah sat beside Norah's bed, Patrick said, "Puck. Blaine has had me come to check on her while you were at Dalton. He felt guilty because Sebastian hit her with his car."

Patrick looks at Blaine as he says, "Thank you for saving him."

Noah looks at his mom and asks, "Does Blaine know you're helping me press charges against Sebastian?"

Patrick sighs and says, "That's why Sebastian attacked him, Puck. Blaine told Sebastian last week that he wasn't helping him try to kill your mother."

Soon Burt Hummel walks in and says, "Finn and Carole are on their way here, Puck. Kurt stayed home because he still doesn't like hospitals."

Then Noah leaves and returns with Kurt to see Norah awake and sitting up. She looks at Blaine and says, "Blaine got out of the car and yelled at Sebastian, "Are you crazy? I'm with Kurt, and Puck is straight!" The last thing I remember was Sebastian threatening him for turning him down. I thought Kurt would be in that bed, not Blaine."

Kurt then walks over to Blaine and takes his hand before he sings "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" by Roberta Flack.

He soon storms out, and as Norah says, "You better follow after him before he ends up like Blaine." Noah kisses her cheek before leaving.

He found him in the cemetery near his mom's grave. Noah stood beside Kurt, saying, "I defaced her grave until Mrs. H married your dad. I'm sorry about Blaine, Kurt."

Kurt keeps his eyes on the grave as he says, "My mom was sick for as long as I can remember. I thought I was the reason she was sick, and I stopped believing in God after that. When Dad had his heart attack, I thought going to Dalton would be better for me. Now, I don't know where I want to be. You are the toughest guy I know, and I don't want you to go to jail because of me."

Noah puts his hands on Kurt's shoulders and says, "Yeah, but that is what Boss wants, and you are not returning to McKinley. You would miss the Hobbit too much, and if you leave, Boss might try to swoop in to steal him from you again. Show him you are strong and will protect Blaine no matter what." Kurt sighs, but says nothing as he heads back to the hospital.
