A few days had passed since that first night and Draco and Harry's relationship had mostly recovered. They were writing to each other more and more and sneaking around in order to see each other. They even made plans for a walk around Black Lake sometime in the day after Harry's final Friday detention with Umbridge; he told her off for speaking ill of Remus Lupin. While he hated Lupin as a teacher, he thought Umbridge's teaching was dry. He didn't care, he was only interested in an actual date with Harry; their first one. Draco had been able to keep himself busy with Quidditch and his prefect duties so he could suppress his happiness. However when Saturday came around, he couldn't stop himself from smiling; he could hardly focus during Quidditch practice.
Once they finished, he didn't stick around for whatever Marcus had to say. He didn't even bother to take off his quidditch gear; he immediately ran to the tree where he was to meet Harry. Draco looked around until he found Harry, sitting against a tree trunk and staring into space. Without a second thought, Draco pounced onto Harry to which he responded with a grunt. Draco began to kiss Harry's jawline as Harry rubbed his chest.
"Did you have to jump on me?" he asked and Draco frowned.
"Don't whine. It's not an attractive quality."
"Wow, this is off to a nice start. Ready to start our walk, before anyone else gets the bright idea to walk around the lake." Harry went to stand but Draco pushed him back down; staring up at him with puppy dog eyes. Harry leaned down and kissed him. Draco smiled and returned the kiss, forcing his tongue into Harry's mouth, but Harry immediately pulled away when he did. "S-sorry, I'm just not in a very good mood." Draco slowly stood up and reached out his hand to Harry; Harry took his left hand and lifted on his right. When he did this he winced and, once he was completely standing, held his right hand.
"What happened to you?" Draco asked, grabbing Harry's right hand, causing him to wince again. "I will not tell lies? What does that mean? When did you get this?" Harry recounted Umbridge's detention and the blood quill to Draco. Draco just stared down at the words now ingrained in Harry's skin; he lightly ran his finger over it. "I don't know what to say…."
"I don't need you to say anything. I don't want you to get in trouble in her class ok, not like you would, but still. If she did this to you, I don't know what I'd do," Harry said, cupping Draco's pale hands. Draco stared down at his hands in Harry's before he spoke up again.
"Th-There's something I have to tell you?"
"What is it?"
"I-Thank you for being honest with me."
"Well, I promised I wouldn't keep secrets anymore." Harry swung his arms around Draco's neck which caused him to stumble back slightly. Draco slowed hugged back and tightened his grip. I almost told the truth and that's good right? That's all that matters. Through the beginning of their walk, Draco's guilt kept him silent. Harry grabbed his hand and pulled Draco close to him; Draco smiled and rested his head against his chest. By the time they reached the other side of the lake, they were laughing and talking about themselves. Draco hugged Harry's arm tightly as he stared out into the lake. "No one's around you know," Harry said.
"If you're implying what I think you're implying, we still should hide. Someone could catch us." Harry smirked and pulled Draco into the some nearby bushes. "This is disgusting and not what I had in mind."
"Well, if I had the chance, I would teleport to your nice mansion so that we could make out on your bed, I would do that but this is the best we got. Unless you want to go all the way back to the castle and risk someone like your friend's finding us and also maybe the mood fading away-!"
"I get it, Potter, geez," Draco said as Harry sat down on the grass. Draco perched himself in Harry's lap and he placed one hand on Harry's chest and slipped his other arm around his neck. He pressed his lips against Harry's; Harry placed his hands on Draco's lower back. It wasn't long before their kissing turned into something hot and heavy. Draco pulled off Harry's cardigan and pushed it to the ground as he slipped his tongue into Harry's mouth. Harry hands slid down and gripped Draco's ass, causing him to jump slightly and pull away. "Well aren't we eager?"
"You're one to talk, but I'd prefer if you didn't." Draco nipped at Harry's neck causing him to grunt; Draco slowly unbuttoned Harry's shirt and ran his fingers down his lean chest.
"Crabbe, didn't you say you saw Draco walking down here? I don't see him anywhere," Pansy shrieked. Draco's head snapped up as he heard footsteps through the grass. He was frozen there and couldn't move as they continued to talk.
"I swear, he ran off from Quidditch practice and toward the lake. Then I thought I saw him walking with someone."
"Someone like who? Another girl?"
"How the hell should I know? I was coming to get you, so I only saw from the window."
"Whatever, let's just find him. Keep up, Goyle!" When the footsteps got further and further away, Harry started to kiss Draco's neck.
"What on Earth do you think you're doing?"
"…Did I get the wrong idea with the neck kisses and the shirt unbuttoning?"
"No, but didn't you hear that! They're looking for me! They're going to catch us."
"You're just being paranoid. They've already walked away, they'll probably walk around the whole lake and we'll be done by then."
"You're probably right," Draco sighed and Harry went back to kissing his neck. Draco made soft moaning noises as Harry nipped at his neck leaving little marks all over. Draco ran his nails down Harry's chest; Harry's entire body shudder in response. He kissed Harry again as he grinded his hips against the bulge in Harry's trousers.
"He's probably walked around the lake, why are we going back?" Pansy whined and Draco immediately snapped up again.
"Nope!" He jumped out of Harry's lap and peaked out of the bushes. Pansy, Crabbe and Goyle were walking back in their direction. "We'll make plans for later, I have to get going," Draco said, fixing himself up and jumping out of the bushes.
"Oi! What are you lot doing out here?" Draco asked as he walked over to his fellow Slytherins. Harry peaked through the bushes to watch them; listening to their conversations filled him with rage and jealousy.
"So, you were out here, who were you here with?"
"No one. I was just clearing my head after practice. Let's get going. It's almost lunchtime." Harry glared as the four of them walked away, laughing and talking. He couldn't have felt more angry and betrayed; he fixed himself up and slipped out of the bushes. Harry stomped his way up to Gryffindor tower, where Hermione and Ron were just stepping out of the Fat Lady's portrait.
"Got a second to talk in private before lunch?" Hermione asked and Harry both her and Ron's arms and dragged them back to his dorm room. "Did something bad happen?" Harry recounted what happened to the two them; he had feeling Ron wasn't listen until he frowned and shook his head.
"Maybe you should break up with that prat. Doesn't seem like he cares much about you," Ron sneered.
"That's your agenda, Ron," Hermione said, patiently, "and what did you expect Harry, you're dating in secret. Technically, Ron and I aren't even supposed to know. You'll have to expect this from him and just know that you can do the same. I mean, you're supposed to act like you hate him, right." This was probably the sneakiest advice he heard from Hermione, use Draco's own words against him. Ron continued to rant a bit as they walked down to the Great Hall, but Hermione shut him and Harry was ignoring him anyway. When they entered the Great Hall, Harry saw Draco give him a sideways glance; he glared at him and sat down.
Draco blinked as he watched Harry sat down at the Gryffindor table. Did he glare at me? Why did he glare at me? What's his damage? Draco elbowed Crabbe and pointed to Colin Creevey; Draco poked at his potatoes as Crabbe forcefully dragged Colin over to them. Colin stood there shaking under the grip of Crabbe's hands as Draco pulled out quill and parchment. Draco was enjoying watching Colin shake and squirm as Draco slowly wrote a letter and folded it up.
"Since I wouldn't be caught dead at the Gryffindor table, I want you to deliver this Potty and if you read it or refuse, I'll have Crabbe rearrange your filthy mudblood organs. Got it?" Draco said, holding the folded letter up to Colin. He nodded quickly and took the letter, before running back to his table.
"What was all that about?" Pansy asked. "Why did you want to send a letter Potter?"
"Mind your business, Pansy. I'm finished with lunch. I'm going to the library to be alone. See you later," Draco responses, standing and leaving. It didn't take long for him to get to the library and find two empty tables. He didn't know long he sat there, waiting. Eventually, he laid his head down on the table. Something lightly tapped his head causing him to look up, there was a piece of folded up parchment.
'Any reason in particular you wanted to see me? This is a paper airplane by the way. It's a muggle thing.'
Draco scowled and wrote on the same parchment since there was still a lot of space left.
'To finish our date, of course. I'm sorry about ditching you at the lake today. Maybe we can go another time. This is a bird.'
He folded it up into a bird and enchanted it to fly over to Harry, who was sitting at the table next to him with a textbook and doing homework. Draco laid his head back on the table, so that he was able to watch Harry writing back. Much to Draco's frustration, Harry folded it back up into his airplane and threw it back.
'So, now you feel bad about ditching me? Didn't seem like it at the time. Especially since you left me in the middle of what we were doing…. So are we just going to finish our date here in the library? Through notes?'
'It wouldn't be so bad would it. It could be cute. Besides, do you have any skill with drawing? And just enchant the bird. It's easier to conceal.' Draco attempted to draw a picture of himself smiling and even though he didn't think it looked like him, he sent it to Harry.
'I can't fold a bird. Nor can I draw that well. But I guess this is fine. Maybe we can meet up in the prefect's bathroom later. Finish what you started.' Draco tried his best to suppress his laughter and Harry's attempt at drawing himself as he wrote back.
'I started? O.K. We'll see how I feel at the end of this date before I make any promises to you about sexual favors.' The letters floated through the library as Harry and Draco spent hours writing back and forth to each other. Draco would enchant different objects to distract Madam Pince, but that was only it was almost time for dinner. 'I'll be going for dinner now. Meet me in the prefect's bathroom if you want to, you know, "finish what I started".'
'I wouldn't have it any other way. Although, I shouldn't stay long, I have a ton of homework to finish. Either way, see you later tonight.'
