A/N: It's weird that I'm not a NaruSaku fan because when I write about them, it just seems to work. I need to hurry up and ruin their relationship because SasuSaku is FTW!

5: The Cherry's feast

"Happy Anniversary!" Naruto excitedly waved the sign in the air as if he had won the lottery. In his eyes he probably did. Sasuke Uchiha was his competition and Sakura Haruno was the prize - the trophy. Then again he knew women were not objects. "Sakura-chan!" In his usual cheery self, Naruto took hold of his girlfriend and placed her on the red coloured mat that he had placed before-hand. "How did I do?"

Sakura you idiot! How could you forget?

"Sakura?"

"Huh? Oh... well first of all, that design is horrible!" She pointed directly at the sign. "And secondly, this is really sweet. I love it; I guesswe're officially a couple!"

"Err, were we not before?"

Sakura tilted her head upwards, facing the sky "Well, it's been six months, 'The sixth month mark'. My Mum has this thing about relationships, she told me once that when you start dating someone it's never fully committed as it's only the 'learning stage' and during this stage we get to know each." Naruto nodded his head "This then leads onto the 'decision stage', Mum said this stage is where the problems occur due to the first stage; it's when we start to doubt our relationships. I suppose everyone has doubts at one point."

She slightly titled back down "Then she said something about relationships on-going pass 'the sixth month' means that we have either learnt to or dealt with the obstacles we were faced with and are now fully committed" Sakura chuckled a bit "Well until a year passes and you start thinking about marriage. So Mum says." She wrapped her fingers around the bottom of her school blouse. "What I'm trying to say is that our relationship has made it this far. We're stronger as a couple I guess." Sakura turned towards a confused face. "Sorry, I talk too much."

"N-no it's fine, I like listening to you, besides...I'm really happy".

As a slight wind caught the two, Naruto's deepened pink cheeks went on show as the wind blew his hair from the sides. Though a little bit confused, he was blushing at the girl who sat beside him as she turn him on with that cute yet sweet innocent smile.

"Um…Sakura if that's all true, why'd you get soo mad when I forgot about our last three anniversaries? I always thought it was pretty stupid to celebrate every month and just now you basically told me the same thing."

The cherry blossom giggled to his question "Well you are right about that. If I am completely honest, I kinda… just wanted a gift from you every month. Sorry!"

"You sneaky…" Naruto laughed out loud "Haha, I guess I'm pretty gullible ain't I?"

Sakura glared strangely into the cylinder cup that Naruto had handed to her. Her mind was all over the place. This morning she was anxious about school but when Sasuke showed up out of the blue, she felt slightly relieved, then frustrated and now…surprised. Then it hit her.

"This morning…when you asked me out for Ramen, you meant-"

Naruto nodded in agreement "Yeah Ichiraku Ramen was just a cover up. I really just wanted to celebrate with you, here".

Somehow Sakura felt relaxed around Naruto "Thank you, this was all I ever wanted" She held Naruto's hands and as she looked straight at him, the warmth between them became intense and in a few words Sakura spoke in a light tone "Naruto, I love you."

A gush of red suddenly fell upon the blond boy's face "Uh…err… well I love you too" he said facing the other way.

"Hahaha Naruto it's really weird seeing you this shy around me." As she continued to tease him, Naruto took the opportunity to lean in for a kiss and when he got what he wanted, he crossed his arms.

"Soooo"

"What?" Sakura asked curiously.

"My anniversary present, where is it?"

SHIT! Saukra completely forgot about that, just like how she forgot about their anniversary. If Naruto finds out she'll never hear the end of it. Sakura had to come up with something fast but what? Wait…it's so obvious. In a lower voice Sakura said "Invite me to your home this evening and I'll show you."

"Huh?"

"I said, Invite me to your home this evening and I'll show you."

"Show me what?" He didn't get it "My present it at my home…hmm" Naruto didn't get it…hold on. Wait. His expression is changing. I think he's starting to get it. Does she mean? A mischievous smile took over his lips "You mean…research?"

"Research?" Now Sakura was very confused.

"Yep, research" Naruto saw a worried face "Oh, right, sorry." Embarrassed he rubbed his hair "I guess I caught my Pervy Jiraya's habit of saying 'research'. He sort of likes do research you if know what I mean."

"Oh My Gosh, your Godfather is kind of weird. He really calls sleeping with people 'research'!"

"Some might call him legendary!"

The two laughed it off and went about with the picnic when Sakura found herself leaning onto her boyfriend's shoulder "This is a really big feast for a girl like me. I don't even know where to start". The cherry blossom scouted out the food, "oooh this looks nice." It was a lovely day, it really was and in this very moment nothing could ruin that, nothing at all. "Naruto, these dumplings are the best. Here, try one."

It was about thirty minutes later when Naruto felt the urge to confess "I have a confession to make. I…um didn't do this all on my own"

"You didn't?"

"It doesn't seem right to take all the credit but I couldn't have pulled this off without Ino. I seem to have grown on her, heehe"

"Really Ino-pig?! Are you sure that wasn't someone else? When?"

"Why do you sound surprise? Hmm…well we started planning it last month; the 14th I think." Naruto said trying to remember the exact details.

Sakura choked on her dumpling.

As Naruto mumbled on, Sakura sat frozen in shock. She didn't know what to do, say or think, or she could do was listen. "I tried to get your Mum to help out that night but she was more worried about some party she had to get to. And Sasuke well he wasn't answering my calls..."

Sakura remembered getting a text from her Mum that night, she even remembered Sasuke saying that Naruto had constantly called him. Damn it! This was probably the worst thing to happen. The 14th of June, was the day me and Sasuke...yet it was also the same night Naruto was planning something like this!

"You okay Sakura?"

Now she felt even worst. I'm falling for him, falling in love with Naruto but… is this enough? I don't think I can handle this guilt any more, the lies me and Sasuke are holding. I…

"Naruto, I need to tell you something" Sakura suddenly jumped when her mobile rumbled next to her. She received a text message and when she opened it, the words: 'WE NEED TO TALK' appeared. She looked up to the I.D:

SASUKE UCHIHA

SHIT.
