A/N: Loved all your reviews guys, they mean a lot so keep them coming Lol. Sorry for the late update but as you could see from one of my stories, I was kind of busy. I had lots of emotional issues where my BF went to the hospital and physical issues where I HAD to go camping Lol. But I'm back now!

Chapter 4: Cemetery

I sighed and hung my head down as I watched Erica skipping into the room and walking to me.

"Tell me all about it." She immediately said as she stared at me in anticipation. I guffawed lowly at her as I hung Jacob's coat on the rack. Wait Jacob's coat! I totally didn't realize I had his coat all this time! I had to make a mental note to give his coat back when I see him again.

"Can I at least enter my apartment first?" I laughed entering the kitchen. She rolled her eyes as she followed me. "How did it go?" I asked pouring myself some water from the tap.

"Well, we went to the water park, grabbed a smoothie, and came back right before it rained and vale!" She exclaimed the last part. I smiled.

"And Rosie?" I asked.

"She's sleeping soundly in her nice comfy bed" She informed and I smiled convincingly. "You don't need to worry dude, it's not like I lost the poor child" She joked.

"Just checking, because you could've been easily distracted…" I said trailing off raising my eyebrow at her clearly meaning her little 'date' with Nahuel today. She blushed scarlet but covered it with an eye roll.

"First of all it wasn't a date, he just offered to go with me so I wasn't bored and second…we aren't supposed to be talking about my love life her!" She said.

"So there is something going on?" I said in anticipation.

"Renesmee… No" She said sternly. I laughed at my best friend. "So what happened?" She asked sitting on the kitchen counter chewing on her milky chocolate bar.

"It was just like any coffee meeting" I simply said. She shook her head not convinced. "Okay, it was great…he was so sweet, and kind, he was just amazing and I can honestly say I had the best time ever…" I said trailing off as I remembered our wonderful day together. Erica smiled and clamorously squealed happily as she got off the counter and jumped excitedly like a five year old.

"Did you guys kiss" She gasped out. I blushed which caused another squeal to erupt from her. "Oh, tell me all the details!"

"It was just a kiss" I said shying away from her gaze as I walked to the living room.

"What kind of kiss? Cause I know that blush meant way more than 'just a kiss'" She quoting the phrase. I just rolled my eyes as I switched the DVR on. "Oh come on Re-re please…with little Rosie on top?" she added. I sighed. "And what happened to 'I'm not looking for a relationship'"

"It was a great kiss, let's leave it at that" I replied and she nodded dropping the subject. "So how's the fashion designing doing?" I asked. Erica has always had a love for fashion ever since she was a kid, she had a passion for it and she had always wanted to open a clothing line in the future. I guess she was like my aunt Alice in that way.

"Oh it's going great and when I finally open my clothing line and you enter dance school of course and open a studio, Oh, then I'll pick you up in my private jet and we'll go shopping in Paris" She said ranting out her future plans. I laughed.

"You've got some serious dreams hey" I smiled.

"Embrace your inner girl fire Renesmee!" She instructed.

"Erie, I have to get into dance school in order to open a studio first" I said sadly. I've always had dreams but after Rosie was born, things have changed. Not that Rosemaree was a burden or anything but I had other things to worry about.

"You're gonna get in, don't worry" She assured me as she squeezed my hand comfortably. I smiled back at her. "Well I think I better get going, Cranky needs his daily feed" She said getting up. Cranky was Erica's little Jack Russell terrier – I know, unusual name – that she got for her 16th birthday almost 8 years ago.

"Okay, don't forget to give little Crank a kiss from me, I miss that little cute fuzzy Mckittens" I said.

"You're weird!" She stated as she rolled her eyes. I giggled at her. "See you later Girl" She said hugging me before heading out of the door.

"Bye" I said shutting the door and locking it. I sighed as I turned around and was slightly startled to see Rosie standing three feet away from me, rubbing her eyes. "Hey there sleepy head" I laughed as I walked up to her and picked her up.

"Mommy, I miss you" She said as she stroked my cheek. I smiled at her as I walked to the small living room couches.

"I've missed you too lovey" I said kissing the side of her face. She giggled happily as we sat together on the comfortable couch. "So I heard you have a great time today, why don't you tell mommy about your day"

"Oh my day good, Auntie Erie got us smoothies and took us to park, oh uncle Nahuel gave me a piggyback ride and took me to the swings, me like him" She said with a glorious smile which only reminded me of Rex. I chuckled at her.

"He is a nice guy isn't he?" I said to her. I then thought of something that I have been dying to ask Erica but couldn't. "Hey baby, did you see anything unusual between Aunt Erica and Uncle Nahuel, like them being 'together'?" I asked rather awkwardly because I didn't know what to say to a three year old about relationships. She shook her head at me.

"I don't know mommy" She replied fiddling with a strand of my hair. Damn it! I couldn't even get the juice of my best friend's love life even from my own daughter. Erica says there is nothing going on between Nahuel and her and I know it's kind of a little too early to tell, duration can't measure love. At least I think that's what my father always said.

Rosie and I were chatting while watching a little bit of TV. When it got darker, I declared that it was passed Rosie's bedtime and that it was time to sleep. Luckily this time I never earned a groan from her. Actually, Rosie is far from what other mothers' portray their children. She was a very sweet girl, she knew almost what was right and wrong but some things she couldn't really comprehend. She always listened attentively to a rule; it sometimes makes me feel like just letting her do whatever she pleases all the time.

It never goes unnoticed that my daughter is loved by many. She is so darn cute that it's hard not to love her. She has this unique aura which causes everyone around her to be happy. Those are one of the characteristics that made me fall in love with her the first day I saw her.

Of course I never planned to get pregnant, I still had a life to fulfill but the day I met with her eyes six months after birth, and I knew that I was meant to protect this wonderful gift the world with all my life. And I always abided with that rule.

After reading her favorite bedtime story, I bid her a kiss goodnight on the forehead when I caught her sleeping soundly asleep under my arm, tucked in her blanket. I tried getting off her bed as quietly as possible but then I felt her tug my shirt.

"Mommy?" she muttered sleepily.

"Yes baby girl?"

"Please stay with me?" She asked. I smiled and switched her lamp off but leaving her night light on and tucked in with her in her small bed.

I didn't realize that I also fell asleep when I heard my phone vibrate on the nightstand. I opened my eyes and reached for my phone to see Jacob's caller ID and his picture. I smiled as I saw it and lightly got off the bed and shut the door softly and I answered the phone.

"Hey," I whispered rather too enthusiastically.

"Hey, I just wanted to check on you and I wanted to say I had such an amazing day today" He said.

"What's weird is I feel the same way" I chuckled. He sniggered as well.

"So, I was wondering if we could do it again sometime." He said. I smiled. So he wanted another date?

"Are you asking me out on a second date Officer Black?" I asked realizing the name tag he had on two days ago on his uniform.

"Well yeah. I was thinking maybe if I could swing by your place tomorrow in the afternoon because I've got some work in the office in the morning…" He said jokingly. He wants to come over? I tried replaying his words in my head. I wasn't quite ready for someone to possibly meet my daughter yet. But what am I saying, it's not like he's going to want to meet my daughter, he could very well be playing me because that's what I've always been living with for the past four years.

"Oh, why don't I swing by your office, I mean I have to run errands in the morning as well and TDP isn't far from the mall" I said.

"Sweet then" I could literally hear him smile. "I guess I'll see you then" He added in his all so gorgeous husky voice. Oh god I am staring to fall in love with that voice. I giggled.

"Yeah" I said twisting the tips of my hair just thinking about him. I didn't know my relationship with Jacob but I was sure going to find out tomorrow when I get to see him. I didn't really know what to call 'us' yet, I mean yeah we kissed – a good one I might add – but that doesn't make us an item, does it?

"Well I gotta go now, Sally is getting really agitated" He chuckled. I frowned. Who was Sally?

"Sally?" I asked unsure of the name.

"Yeah, that's my rescue dog I found two years ago" He said. So he likes pets, huh. One more thing I know about him.

"That's just too cute like I hope she is" I giggled.

"Oh I wish" He laughed. "I had to get a new couch last month because she decided on having the previous one for breakfast" I laughed so loudly at his statement but hushed myself down realizing my daughter only a door away.

"I hear they're very delicious during hunting season" I replied to his statement. Okay I know I wasn't the best comedian but I was glad Jake found it funny. A bark drew us off from our laughter.

"Hey I gotta go, can't wait to see you tomorrow" He dismissed.

"Me too" I replied. I'll be thinking of you. I refrained myself from saying that to him though. What the hell is wrong with me?

We said our last goodbyes and hung up the phone. I then decided that I think it was best for me to also get some sleep. I walked into my room and collapsed onto my bed as I drifted off into unconsciousness…

I was awoken by the sound of the doorbell ringing. My eyes shot right open and I got out of my bed, grabbed my robe and made my way to the front door. I opened it to see my beautiful mother standing there with a beautiful smile spread across her pale face.

"Oh Renesmee" she exclaimed as she pulled me into a hug. I giggled lowly.

"Hey mom" I replied my voice raspy. She pulled away and gave me a frown as she felt my forehead temperature.

"Oh no, you're coming down with something" She confirmed. I smiled back.

"No I'm fine mom, just a little drowsy from yesterday" I replied as we walked into the kitchen and I made ourselves coffee.

"What happened last night?" She asked getting full on mother mode. I sighed.

"I went out with a friend for coffee and we left when the rain hit so it must've been what triggered it" I replied almost truthfully. She nodded convinced.

"Well I hope you get better soon" She smiled. "Who is he?" She blurted out. My eyes widened. How did she- "A mother knows Renesmee" She chuckled, Of course.

"He's an officer" I said as I begin blushing deep red. Her eyes widened

"Oh, is he cute?" She asked wiggling her eyebrows. One thing about my mom was that she wasn't just my mom; she was my best friend, my closest confidant.

"He's freaking hot mom" I said just remembering his manly features drives me nuts!

"I'm so happy for you, baby. I'm glad you're taking the next step," My mom said almost reminding me of my past.

"I know, and I may be stupid for laying it all on the line and all…" I began but she cut me off.

"Hey, if you're thinking about that, then you aren't thinking about that today" She smiled. I rolled my eyes at her, my mom was the best. "Oh there's my beautiful granddaughter of mine!" she exclaimed and I turned around to see Rosie wide awake with her stuffed bunny in her arms. I smiled. "We're going to have a fun day while mom is out today right baby girl!" My mother cooed as she planted kisses all over Rosie's face. She insisted on babysitting Rosie while I ran my errands. Again, my mom was the best!

"Thanks again for what you're doing mom, I owe you some" I smiled at her.

"Oh shush, anything to see my beautiful granddaughter for a day" she mused. I nodded in understanding as I got dressed for the day.

My mom and daughter were leaving a few moments later. I said goodbye to them and gave my mom the rules on how to take care of Rosemaree. I know my mom has experience on taking care of babies, she's had two times to show it but hey, you can't blame a mother for being careful?

I went to the Tacoma Mall to get everything that I needed. When I was done I took a bus back home but immediately stopped it when I saw the graveyard, the cemetery where we buried Rex.

I walked past all the burial grounds of people I haven't even met. I haven't been here in months, the nature grew out but the smell certainly hasn't. The smell of Death…

When I reached the tombstone of my dearly beloved, I sat down as I placed a tiger lily at the end, right in front of the picture of him in his race car uniform as he smiled at his trophy. I realized then that it would've been his fourth anniversary as champion. I stared at his meadow green eyes which were identical to our daughters, his wonderful grin showcasing his dimples and even his dirty blonde hair.

"Hey" I said softly. "Long time no chat" I chuckled gently. "I just came to drop off the flowers and wanted to tell you how Rosie's doing. Well she's doing amazing; we talk about you all the time. She's doing great actually…" I said trailing off as I realized warm water falling down my pink cheeks. "We've missed you" I cried out.

I miss you guys too, more than you'll ever know I heard his voice linger into my ear, that sweet beautiful lullaby sound. It's not like I'm those crazy widows who hear their mate's voices and talk to them like they're still alive! It's just, I listen to the voices I want to hear coming out of him so that he could be me a sense of assurance that everything would be okay. Maybe I am one…a little.

I never trusted my voice at this point. That one line really hit me hard. I just wanted him here!

I'm always with you sweet candy He replied to my thoughts, using his favorite nickname for me. I suppressed a giggle.

"I met this guy" I began. "He's name is Jake, and I really think he's good for me right now, he's helping me cope through this all" I told him.

I'm happy for you I heard him reply. I just pray you'll be happy and our daughter is safe He added. I sighed. I hope too.

"Should I get to know him more? I mean, he seems like a good guy, he's sweet. I don't know" I sighed.

What I've learned from a wise man is 'you can live a thousand lifetimes for someone and not deserve them' He said. I sighed. He was right, who was I kidding.

"So what should I do?" I asked. I waited two minutes for an answer but…nothing. I sighed again this time I exhaled deeply. I knew what I needed to do. I had to break this whole thing off…

Jacob's (POV)

Oh what a day. I have to work two hours a day every single 6 days a week, heck, I can even work longer if the sheriff wanted me to!

All I wanted to do was just have a nice Sunday morning away from all these cases that haven't been solved. Speaking of which, I have to visit this stupid attorney to testify on these bear murder killings. Life is shit!

But all this time, the one thing helping me cope through this was Renesmee in my brain. I had no idea what affect this girl had on me, I couldn't explain it but it was just, like when I see her, everything in my life changes. The whole world isn't in my brain, just her. Renesmee is like my sun so to say; of course I wouldn't tell that to her just yet because I knew it would be too fast.

All the 'women' I've dated were a lot different from her. She was just unique.

I was currently filling all the cases I've been assigned to solve from the Sheriff while he's still in vacation with his family. Yeah right, me the Sheriff Deputy, but apparently I have to be one for a whole month! All the joy!

"Jake buddy!" I heard the distinct voices of my colleagues or so I call them, my 'pack'. Quil, Embry and Seth entered the room together. We all come from the same area and we practically grew up together down at the Reservation. Embry is my distant cousin and Quil is like my second cousin so to say. Seth has always been like our brother ever since we were little.

"Stuck at work huh there buddy?" Quil teased.

"Have the grizzly bears come out to play yet?" Embry added.

"Do you seriously believe that shit is real guys?" Seth asked them. "I mean, come on. Bears 'miraculously' attacking humans on sight" He laughed.

"Stranger things have happened dude" Quil said. I sighed deeply, not really paying attention to their conversation and bang my head onto the table

"Gee, being Sheriff really took its toll huh there buddy?" Embry said patting my arm. I breathed out.

"You have no idea" I replied.

"Wonder if that waiter girl's giving you, body massages" Quil teased. I glared up at him.

"Wait what girl?" Seth asked confusedly.

"Jacob has a new woman and you didn't even tell us!" Embry gasped feeling insulted by his own insinuation. Ugh, now this!

"Damn it, you freaking believe Mr. Quil-a-dork over here and not us!" Seth added.

"Hey!" Quil shouted.

"Guys, just shut up okay!" I lashed out. "Quil only knows about here because he overheard me talk to her yesterday"

"Well elaborate us on this mystery girl" Embry insisted. I sighed as I began describing Renesmee. They all seemed interested too. Dicks!

"Well she sounds pretty cool…does she have booty?" Quil asked.

"Damn it, Quil!" Embry scolded. "That is no way to talk about a lady that way. And it's not about looks, it's about the real beauty within…side" He said as if he were reciting a poem. Quil rolled his eyes and huffed.

"Whatever dude, there's got to be some catch with that girl because she sounds too perfect to be true" Quil said.

"Well she works at Greases, next to Macy's" I said shrugging.

"Strike one!" Seth exclaimed. I snarled at him.

"Anything else?" questioned Embry. I took a deep breath and mumbled something under my breath not really wanting to hear it.

"What was that?"Quil asked getting closer so he could hear properly. I mumbled it again but a little higher.

"What did you say?" Embry asked.

"She's a mom okay!" I blurted out. All their eyes widened.

"Jackpot and we have a winner!" Seth said out loud. I sighed.

"My my, Jacob hit the baby momma victory" Quil said applauding me. I rolled my eyes.

"Okay fine, she's a mother, whatever. I like her, doesn't that matter?" I said.

"Well yeah dude but you can't grill cooked meat" Quil said. I frowned, what did he mean by that idiom?

"What?" I asked.

"He means is, you can't play with fire that has been already burnt out." Embry began. "This woman doesn't want some fling or a romantic rendezvous. She already had that shit,"

"He means you've walked into a dead end and there is no way out. She isn't looking for a fucking buddy, she's looking for a man, and potential father to her child. So you better be careful dude." Seth concluded.

"Okay fine, what if I'm ready to settle down?" I asked.

"So no more Jakey go solo anymore huh?" Quil asked.

"Yeah, I mean, I really like this girl and I think she might be it for me. She's actually coming over here" I said checking my watch to see that it was 1: 00pm "Which is now, so insist you guys scoot" I said ushering them away. They all laughed.

"Scoot. Really Jake?" laughed Seth. I sighed.

"Just go!" I ordered. They laughed on their way out of the door and began their conversation on how I'm such a sucker. Jerks!

I was currently fixing my temporary office in order to make it look as neat and presentable as possible. Living with girls back at home really helps with cleaning huh. I couldn't wait to see Renesmee again!

My thought process was shaken away by a knock on my door. I wiped my wet hands on my pants and fixed my tie before taking a breath and opening the door. God I must've looked like I was inviting my girlfriend to my parent's house right now.

"Hey" I said smiling at the beautiful girl who stood before me. She smiled gorgeously back as I pulled her into a hug.

"I brought coffee, just thought you wanted some" She said. Oh she was such a saint.

"Oh thanks, I was actually craving for one" I said laying them on the desk and extending the chair so Renesmee could sit. She blushed and thanked me as she took her seat.

"You're office looks really cool" She complimented as she stared at it. Yeah, five minutes worth of cleaning cool.

"Yeah, it was messy earlier so I just tidied up before you came in" I replied. She smiled. "So how was your day?" I asked rhetorically. "I meant how your day is? Because, I'm sorry-" She giggled. Oh that sweet voice.

"I get it. It was good actually and yours?" She asked sweetly.

"Cannot complain" I said. Was it weird that we never brought up the kiss?

"Hey, you have really nice pictures around here, where were they taken?" She asked as she stared at the pictures on the wall. They were pictures of the entire La Push and my family. She got up to get a better look at them.

"Um yeah…they're taken from my hometown" I said getting up as well. I watched as she let her fingers trace on them. She stopped at the one Seth took on the beach. "That's the beach." I said, she nodded impressed and continued her stroll.

"This?" she asked. She stopped at the picture of my extended family of Sam, his wife Emily, Jared and Kim, the Clearwater's and my twin sisters sitting by the beach.

"That's my extended family" I said to her as I walked up to her side. I didn't really realize I stood so close to her body but at this point I really didn't care. I could feel her breathing hitch, in a good way?

She stopped at the picture of my father and mother on their wedding day. "Oh let me guess that's your mother and father on their wedding day" She smiled.

"Good eye" I said and she giggled. "Yeah, that was 30 years ago; my mom met my dad at his family reunion. They immediately fell in love that day and my day knew she was the one. Few months flew and they got hitched…and had my sister's then me. Six years after my birth, my mother died in car crash…" I said trailing off.

"I'm sorry" She said sadly as she stared up at me. I felt this overwhelming energy from her the first day I met her. I leaned down so that both our lips could meet. Our kiss didn't last as long as this one but I'd say it was better, she pulled away to blush. "Okay. Back to strolling" She said pushing me away lightly. I smiled at her as we continued our walk down memory lane.

"I'm guessing these are your boys?" She laughed at the picture of the guys and me getting goofy, me rolling my eyes at Claire's sweet sixteen.

"Yeah, Quil, Seth and Embry" I laughed remembering the conversation we had earlier. "Hey, you haven't told me much about your daughter?" I asked. I regretted it immediately because her face fell. "I'm sorry. I'm too forward."

"No, no it's just-" She said but was cut off by her phone vibrating. She took it out and placed it back into her pocket. "Hey, say are you free tonight?" She asked. I'll be free anytime for you, baby

"Yeah" I said.

"Oh good" She smiled widely. I didn't know, but something about that smile turned me on. God, this girl will be the death of me.

"Why don't we go to my house for dinner?" I asking hoping it wasn't a long shot. She smiled back.

"I'd love that" She said and I couldn't help the little Jacob inside me, jumping up and down. Not in front of her of course.

Ah. I think I'm falling hard and fast for this wonderful creature…

A/N: Aww, please tell me that that wasn't a cute chapter because I think it was. I loved writing it so much. Please review to tell me what you thought.
