Chapter 5: Out at the park

Renesmee

After staying in Jacob's office for a good two more hours, we decided to head out. Jacob drove us both to his house. We drove down somewhere I wasn't too sure of, I think it was downtown Tacoma where he might have lived.

I got to learn so much about Jacob today. I learnt for starters, he hates anything involving cleaning; he despises all supernatural movies, tennis, and the color purple. But he loves relaxing, watching movies based on comics and football, going out with his friends and eating. His personality is just as great as his fetishes which just in return make me like him even more. I can't help but get weird chills and butterflies whenever I'm around him. I didn't know what it meant.

Entering his house I was completely in awed. It was so beautiful. It was a small two-story house, it wasn't like mansion big but it was definitely huger than mine. I couldn't help but see the interior as traditional. It was really cute.

"Your house is amazing." I commented as I stared at the surroundings.

"Nah, it's nothing special. My aunt decorated it." He told me.

"Well your aunt is certainly good at her work," I laughed. I caught the sight of a picture of someone with dark tanned skin and wearing a weird hat and his face painted in rainbow colors. "Who this?" I asked him.

"Oh that's the picture of some Quileute chief Taha Aki. He's native American so we're descendants from him." He explained.

"You're native American?" I asked him. He nodded at me. "Which explains why you're so beautiful" I blurted out. I gasped after saying this. "I mean, why you're so tanned, I meant why you're so tanned." I said quickly as I shied away in embarrassment. He just chuckled at me. Why did I just say that? He probably thinks I'm some crazy love-struck woman. Ugh! Why do you have to be so stupid Renesmee?

My banter was pulled away when I felt someone licking my fingers with his hot wet tongue. I looked down to see a German Shepherd dog literally grinning up at me. Well not literally but close. I smiled.

"Hey there, who might you be?" I cooed as I kissed it lightly on the head and ruffling its fur. It purred in enjoyment.

"That's Sally, my rescue dog I told you about." Jake answered. Sally then ran into her little den as she played with her chew toy. I simpered as I got up from the ground to face hottie Jake again. What the hell is wrong with me?

"She's cute." I said. He stared down at me as if he saw something amazing, or maybe I'm wrong.

"Yeah she is…" He replied trailing off. I smiled and he came back to his senses. "I mean, she's like my little miracle. I rescued her during a flood in Utah, she had an infection on her leg after the process and the doctors said she might not live unless they amputate it. So I knew nobody would want a dog that didn't have all the qualities a dog should have so I took her in and raised her as my own." He sniggered lowly. I smiled and turned to see in fact, Sally had a prosthetic leg on her right side. I couldn't imagine what she had to through. Jacob was so sweet.

"That was really sweet of you Jake." I said emotionally as I stared up at him. Jacob was really tall and I mean almost abnormally tall reaching at a good 6`5 towering my 5`7 frame. He shrugged.

"It was nothing really. It was the least I could do and plus I think she likes me," He said casually. I just laughed and pushed him away on the chest. "Why don't we sit in the living room?" He asked.

"Yeah," I smiled.

Jacob and I went to the living room and sat on his couch. We were immediately indulged in conversation that when he insisted on getting some snacks from the kitchen, that I actually followed him. I don't know what it means but I feel like I can be myself when I was around Jacob, he was really sweet and extremely witty.

"Did your dad actually do that?" I asked as Jacob told me about his life. He laughed and nodded.

"The day he found out Paul and my sister was sleeping together, he actually pulled out his gun and axe and threatened to castrate him." He laughed. I gasped.

"Oh my god!" I laughed. "I wonder how Rachel must've felt."

"Oh she was too busy crying her eyes out begging him not to kill the 'future father' of his grandchildren. I was in the kitchen laughing my ass off with Quil and Embry," He said. I giggled.

"And this happened twelve years ago?" I asked. He nodded. "Oh wow, I'm sure Paul and your sister never saw each other since then?"

"Oh, well they're actually living together and currently raising one hell of a family back in La Push." He said. I smiled widely. So cute!

"Oh La Push as in where you live?" I asked and he nodded. "That's really funny at how things change, surprised your father still gave him permission to marry her."

"He actually had no choice because that was one of my mother's dying wish for us. To get married to the people we loved." He simpered weakly as he remembered his mother. My heart really aches for the pain Jacob felt about losing his mother. I mean, I'm still on this earth with both my parent's still alive and I'm too selfish to accept the job offer they've given me.

"Do-do you still miss her?" I asked rhetorically. That was a stupid question Renesmee! Way to go!

"Every day," He simply said. I nodded sadly. "But it happened when I was nine so I was too young to remember it." He added.

"Is it okay if I ask but…how did your dad take it?" I asked him, all joking disappeared instantly. He took a deep breath before answering.

"Well, he was an emotional wreck for as far as I could remember. He couldn't believe it at first, but after the accident and realizing it wasn't his fault he was determined to not mourn her death but to celebrate it. Every day we celebrated her birthday in order to fulfill her legacy. But my sister's took it the worst of all, they'd always have nightmares at night and realizing our mother wasn't there to protect us from them it really stunk. Rebecca even threatened to commit suicide in order to see our mother one more time in heaven…" He said pausing at the end. I lay my glass on the table and pulled him in a hug.

"I'm sorry." I said my voice breaking. I didn't really want him to throw out past experiences onto me; I knew how it was to lose someone. He was about to answer but I just shushed him. "Don't say anything Jake. I know how hard it is." I told him. I heard him chuckle from my shoulder.

"I was just asking if you'd like a refill of your drink," He said. I blushed and moved slightly away from him.

"Um…" I hummed and he just laughed as he poured another glass of champagne for us. I smiled as he handed me mine. "Thanks." I muttered.

"No problem. So tell me more about yourself Ness?" He asked. "The only thing I know about is you're a waitress, a mother and beautiful." He said jokingly. I giggled.

"That about sums me up." I smiled.

"I'm sure there's more but you just don't want to tell me." He chuckled. "Come on. Tell me something."

"Like what?" I asked.

"I don't know, like what's your favorite color?" He asked. I shrugged.

"Red. What's yours?" I asked.

"Brown," He replied. I frowned. Brown…? That's an unusual favorite color.

"Brown?" I asked and he nodded. "Why brown?" I chuckled. He shrugged.

"I don't know, maybe it's because it's the main color of my neighborhood forest and the color of your eyes." He replied. I blushed scarlet and released a light laugh. "What?" He asked.

"You have a way with words Jake." I giggled. He smiled brilliantly.

"No but seriously. Tell me more…the deep stuff." He said. I chuckled as he said 'deep stuff'.

"Well. I've always wanted to open my own dance studio. Ever since I was a kid, I've always dreamt of dancing." I told him truthfully.

"What stopped you from fulfilling that dream?" He asked. I shrugged.

"I don't know, after having Rosie, things sort of slowed down for me. Not like she was the cause of it but I had other priorities to take care of." I replied. He nodded understandingly.

"Rosie? As in your daughter?" he asked. I nodded. "That's real sweet. I bet she's a 'Little Mermaid' fan isn't she?" He asked. I laughed and nodded.

"How did you know?" I asked.

"I have a four year old niece who can't get over Ariel." He chuckled.

"Oh so you even know the characters huh?" I teased, his face turned red from embarrassment.

"Try visiting your sister's house and not getting anything to do." He laughed. I smiled.

"You're close with your sisters aren't you?" I asked.

"Not really. Ever since my mom died we all just separated in a way, but now that we're all adults and starting a family and my dad's aging, we'd like to be a part of each other's life as long as possible." He replied. What I found out about Jake was that he was selfless; he cared about everyone around him before himself. That's one of the characteristics I'm falling in love with. Did I just think that?

"You know, you're a pretty sweet guy." I said staring at him. He smiled.

"Yeah, but more pretty." He said jokingly. I smiled at him. That moment when our eyes met completely, the whole world felt smaller than the situation we were in now. I stared at his thin lips and I couldn't help but feel why I was the one who got to be with him. This guy was so perfect, he shouldn't be with me. But another part me felt like I'm glad I at least have him in my life and oh my gosh we're going to kiss now!

He moved his hand to stroke the right side of my face and twitched a smile as he leaned in slowly to brush me on the lips. It was hardly a kiss but you could still feel the electricity. He moved closer for another kiss but was stopped by a loud ring. I realized then that it was my phone that was ringing. He sighed as he pulled away from me so I could I check my phone.

Um, Ness sweetheart, I know you're probably locking lips with Officer Jake now but Rosie is being fussy at the moment and refuses to sleep because she wants you home. Any chance you could come over?

-Mom

After reading the message, I checked my watch to see that it was almost 20:00. I didn't know I was here that long.

"Is there something wrong?" Jake asked.

"I'm sorry, my mom just informed that Rosie needs to sleep but she can't because I'm not there. I'm sorry." I said sadly.

"Nah, don't worry about it. Let me just get my keys and I'll drop you off." He insisted.

"You don't have to-" I began but he cut me off.

"I wouldn't be much of a good officer if I let you out in the dark now would I?" He asked. I laughed. He had a point. "And besides, I want to" He said with another smile.

"Well thanks." I said sincerely.

We got to his car and he drove me back to my house. As we pulled up the apartment building, I turned to look at Jake and thanked him.

"Thanks for amazing night and for the ride." I smiled.

"I had a great time with you Ness; we should do this again sometime and maybe with Rosie." He insisted. My face almost fell. I never invited any guy home to meet Rosie, but could I have trusted Jacob? Well he is an officer.

"Most definitely," I muttered. He smiled back and leaned in for a quick kiss and pulled away. That wasn't a kiss! I thought and pulled his face in mine in another kiss but this time it was longer and more passionate. I was the one to pull away first when the kissed got heated. I smiled at him whilst he just bit his lip.

"I guess I'll see you soon then." I confirmed.

"Yeah, I'll call you later." He said as he extended his arm to open the door for me. I smiled.

"Bye" I said and got out of the car. When I was walking up to the door, I felt a hand tug me and I was immediately spun around and felt Jacob's lips instantly on mine in another kiss. The sensation was amazing.

"Let her in already!" We heard a high-pitched voice erupt from down the street. I giggled whilst Jacob just scoffed.

"Let me have one last kiss with my girlfriend will ya!" Jacob called back. My eyes widened at what he said. Girlfriend

"Girlfriend?" I asked. He smiled sheepishly.

"Well…if that's what…" He said stuttering. I giggled.

"Gotcha!" I exclaimed and pecked him on the lips one last time. He chuckled as we pulled away. "Bye" I said as I opened the door. He winked at me as he entered his car and drove off.

Another amazing day spent with Jacob Black…

… …

I woke up early in the morning to the sound of my radio going off and hearing Ryan Seacrest's voice ring around the apartment. Every Saturday morning I woke up earlier than anyone in the house to start cleaning but today was worse. Jacob was coming over.

It's been almost a week since Jacob and I made it official and that we're actually in a relationship, the only person that knew was my mother who saw our little kiss from last week when she saw us through my window. I'm pretty sure she told the family about it.

Anyway, Jake was coming over to meet me for our date today. I couldn't help but feel extremely excited yet nervous, I didn't know what to expect from today because I'm pretty sure I have to introduce him to Rosie.

When I began cleaning the apartment, I heard a knock on the door only belonging to my best friend Erica. I opened it and smiling widely at her. She chuckled.

"You're not extremely happy today. Did you meet Ryan Seacrest?" She teased. Ever since I was a teen, I've always had a super celebrity crush on Ryan Seacrest; I liked his baby face and how cutely he smiled showing of his white teeth and cute dimple. Oh and let me not start on his hair!

"Hey Erie." I laughed as I invited her in.

"So what's got you in this happy of a mood?" She asked. I just grinned joyfully.

"Nothing." I said trying my very best to stop myself from smiling but I just couldn't. She rolled her eyes.

"I may be blonde but I'm not stupid chicka. Tell me." She demanded. "And tell me why I've got to babysit Rosie even though I love her so much, oh and wow the house is so spotless and-" She said quickly.

"I'll tell you if you promise to shut up okay?" I said. She rolled her eyes and nudged me to continue. "Okay, Jake and I are dating." I said.

"Get out of Denver!" She gasped. I nodded happily. "When the hell did this happen?" She asked.

"Around last week." I told her. She looked offended.

"And you didn't even tell me? What kind of friend are you?" She asked.

"The kind of friend who has a boyfriend before you" I teased. She rolled her eyes.

"I have plenty of boyfriends!" She exclaimed.

"Hmm. Like Nahuel?" I asked and she blushed in return but hid it quickly.

"Okay, stop trying to change the subject Re-re!" She warned. I chuckled. "And didn't I recall you saying that 'you don't have time for dating'?" She asked. I blushed. I did remember that.

"Well sue me. He is just amazing, he's nice and charming and all the qualities you need in a wonderful guy," I said almost trailing off just thinking of him.

"I'm really happy for you Renesmee." She said happily. I smiled at her. "So I'm guessing you're meeting with him again?" She asked and I nodded.

"Yeah, he's coming over today." I replied.

"Are you sure you want to do that? I mean, he might want to meet Rosie, and she might want to kick his balls." She said jokingly with a chuckle. My face fell. How come I didn't think of that? "I'm just kidding." She said as she saw my face.

"How come I didn't think of that?" I said to myself completely ignoring her.

"Are you ready for that?" She asked. I shrugged. "It'll be okay." She assured me. I just nodded but not answering.

"I feel nauseous!" I exclaimed as I grabbed some water.

"Renesmee don't worry, she might not even kick his balls… The least she could do is kicking his knee max" She said casually.

"Not helping Erica," I sighed.

Rosie broke us away from our wonderful conversation about Jake as she stood behind us.

"Momma?" she said. I grinned.

"Morning lovey, I can see you're up and awake huh." I smiled as I picked her up. She smiled up at me.

"Yep, I had a wonderful dream mommy." She said happily.

"And what might that be?" I asked.

"Me and you playing in the water park with a big dog!" She said enthusiastically. I laughed.

"That's fantastic Rose. I think I might even know one who'd play with us." I replied remembering Sally. She giggled.

"Yeah, and mommy also has one big man." Erie added. I glared at her and she just chuckled while Rosie just looked confused.

"Anyway," I said slightly narrowing my eyes at Erica who just continued laughing. "We'll be meeting someone new today, he even has a dog."

"Really?" she asked her eyes brightening up. I nodded. At least she's interested now.

"Yeah, he'll be here any moment so all I want for you is to be a good girl and be very nice to him okay?" I said. She nodded understandingly. "Okay, let's get you dressed up." I said to her. She smiled and we went to her room to get her a little dulled up.

We were all ready when we heard the doorbell ring. I walked up to it, I took one glance at Rosie and Erica who were sat by the living room and took a deep breath and opened the door to see Jacob standing looking quite handsome in his buttoned up shirt and jeans.

"Hey!" I said rather too enthusiastically. His beautiful brown eyes brightened as he saw me.

"Hey there," He said pulling me into a hug and gave me one small peck on the lips. I smiled as we pulled away.

"Glad you came." I told him.

"I wouldn't miss this day for the world" He replied staring down at me. I couldn't help but get lost in his eyes, his amazing eyes.

"Are you ready?" I asked a little nervously. He chuckled and nodded.

"You look more nervous than I am right now," He smiled. I blushed and pulled him by the hand as we walked into the living room where Erica and Rosie were watching some kiddies show.

"Guys, this is Jacob. Jacob this is my best friend Erica and my daughter Rosie." I introduced him. Erica and Rosie looked up at us. I was completely nervous at that point, not because of Jacob meeting my daughter but I was afraid of being embarrassed by my best friend.

"Hey guys." Jacob said with his ever so popular smile, Erica got up and smiled smugly at us. Please don't make it awkward! Please don't make it awkward!

"I'm Erica Stanley, so you're the one who's been stealing Renesmee away for the weekends huh." She said staring him up and down. And she just made it awkward!

"Uh yeah I guess." He laughed nervously, flashing a small smile.

"How long have you known each other?" She asked.

"Um, about three weeks," He replied. She nodded.

"What do you do as a career choice?" She asked. Oh no, here comes the interrogating card again. Erica as you know is my best friend, and since she's two months older than me then that means that she's very protective of me. She says and I quote 'since I'm your older sister then I have to take care of you'. Whatever!

"I work as an officer at the TDP" He replied. She nodded.

"Any long term goals?" she asked.

"To open my own mechanic auto repair shop," He replied.

"Any plans to start a family?" She asked.

"In some point in time yes," He said staring at me before turning back to Erica. I squeezed his hand lightly in comfort because I could tell he was getting uncomfortable.

"Are you a smoker?" She asked.

"No"

"Do you love Renesmee?" She asked. Okay there I needed to step in.

"Okay, enough of the questions Erica." I stopped her. I didn't really want to know the answer to that. I was so glad Rosie changed the subject.

"Mommy?" she called as she stood by my side.

"Hey baby. This is Uncle Jake, the guy I was telling you about?" I reminded her. She had hand clasped in mine with her thump in her mouth as she tried hiding away from him. I gave Jake an apologetic smile. Rosemaree was still extremely shy whenever she met new people.

"Hey there cutie pie, my name is Jake, what about yours?" He asked as he bent down to her length.

"Rosie." She whispered very inaudibly. He smiled.

"I heard you're a 'Little Mermaid' fan, you know. I'm one too" He said to her. This must've let her loosen up to him because her eyes brightened and she released her thump.

"Really?" she said in a cute voice. He nodded.

"Yeah, and you know what. You and my little niece look exactly like Ariel, the Disney princess." He smiled at her. Rosie smiled widely and squealed as she did something I didn't expect done from her. She leaned in to hug him. Both Erica and I were surprised by this but Jake just felt honored.

"It's playing now. Want to see my little mermaid collection with me?" Rosie asked him as they pulled away.

"Would I?" He asked and she just giggled as she pulled him by the hand and walked to where she was playing it on the living room carpet.

"Oh wow! They really hit it off." Erica said as she stood next to me staring at the scene as well. I nodded.

"Yeah" I said still in bewilderment.

"You see, she didn't even kick his balls like you expected." She said. I rolled my eyes.

"Right…" I said. "Oh thanks for making him awkward again." I added. She shrugged.

"Oh that wasn't a problem darling." She replied. I rolled my eyes.

"You were right." She said.

"Right about what?" I asked her. I looked at Jake as he talked at a giddy Rosie. He seemed so good with her.

"He's amazing." She said. "He's really nice and charming, totally hot." She added. I laughed.

"Told you." I said. Jake was perfect…

We all took a trip to the park near our neighborhood. We watched as Jacob and Rosie run and played around. I was so happy that they hit it off quite well. I liked seeing them together, picturing what would've been if Rex was still alive.

When it started getting late, we drove back home to my apartment.

"Bye Uncle Jake!" Rosie exclaimed as she waved him goodbye. I smiled.

"Have a good day Mare and don't forget to eat your ice-cream." He said to her and she giggled in return.

"It was cool meeting you Jake." Erica said.

"You too Erica" He smiled at her. I gave her a look as to say she should leave. She nodded in understanding.

"Why don't we head in to eat that ice-cream you wanted?" She said to Rosie and they skipped into the loft. I turned to face Jacob.

"Thank you for today, I think Rosie really likes you. I know it wasn't what you expected but-" I said but he shushed me by laying his finger on my lips.

"It's no problem at all. I love kids and Mare is just cute, and at least…" He said leaning down closer to me. "I loved seeing you."

I blushed. "Well Officer Black, why don't you come here and show me how much you've missed me?" I said suggestively. He smiled and pulled me into a kiss. It was sweet and gentle, just right.

"I'll see you soon okay?" He said pulling away. I nodded as he kissed my forehead.

"I'll miss you," I said sadly as I fiddled with his shirt collar.

"I'll miss you too baby," He said quietly on my head. "I'll call you later." He added. I nodded understandingly as he entered his car.

"Bye" I said.

"Bye" He replied and drove off. I sighed lightly as I walked back to my apartment building just thinking about Jacob. I couldn't help these feelings inside of me but I feel like he could be the one. I mean we've only known each other for a month but I…never mind, I'm just being love-stuck…wait love-struck? Did I love him already?

My train was pulled away when I stood in front of a figure. I looked up staring at dark leather clothing until I was met with the face. 'His face'…

"Hello Renesmee." He said in his jackass of a voice. I gasped when I saw him.
