AN: just wanted to state that this idea came to mind with the latest episode of RWBY in volume 9 chapter 8. If you go beyond these notes there will be HEAVY spoilers. Also this will be a crossover with the game New World. Without further ado let's get started.
She had actually done it, she killed herself out of her own Emotional turmoil. Begging for the sweet release of death. That didn't happen though? Ruby was looking around the endless void that she was currently standing in. Wasn't it supposed to be lights out after death? Cruel even in death there was no escaping her pain.
Tears flowed out of Ruby's eyes.
"WHY?! WHY ME WHY CAN'T IT JUST END!? I'M NOT SOME HERO THAT I WAS MADE OUT TO BEEEEE!" Ruby screamed out as if she was screaming to the heavens or the gods. All she was met with her echoing voice and silence afterwards.
It wasn't fair why, did it have to be her. It was always her. Torwick was right, life wasn't fair even in death. Maybe if she died again here she would truly die? Ruby looked at Crescent Rose and reached around to the action button and pressed it, unfurling Crescent Rose into its full form. Ruby brought the blade of Crescent Rose up to her neck. She looked at the razor sharp blade. It would be quick she reassured herself, quick and painless. Ruby would finally have her release from all of her pain.
Ruby pulled the trigger, Crescent Rose fired with all of its might. It did not move only vibrated. Ruby had been thoroughly confused; her head should have been chopped off by now, but here it was still attached. Ruby tried again to chop her head off only to fail again as Crescent Rose would not budge. Over and over she tried tears falling down her face, only to get no result. Ruby could only wonder why life was being so cruel.
"It's because it's not your time to go yet, neither is it mine."
It was a calm and gentle voice that spoke out. Ruby looked to her right to see an armored hand tightly gripping one of Crescent Rose's blades.
"Neither will trying to kill yourself here will work you will just reform. Trust me, ask me how I know."
Ruby looked up and saw a face behind the voice, the guy was young. Had to be her age if not younger.
The initial curiosity was replaced by anger.
"HOW DARE YOU TRY TO STOP ME! WHY CAN'T I JUST BE FREE OF PAIN AND SUFFERING."
The mysterious individual let go of Crescent Rose. "You are free to try and end your pain but, where we are right now will not simply allow for us to stop existing. I'm not here to tell you what you can or can't nor what you have to do, after all we're both here for the same reason."
Ruby paid this individual no mind and simply went about cutting her head off. Only to immediately reform seconds later. In the exact state that she had entered limbo in. Ruby tried again and again only to keep reforming after every attempt.
The mysterious individual watched, as Ruby continuously tried to end her existence. To try and escape her pain but to no avail, but there was something that the mysterious individual understood, was Ruby's pain. Ruby attempted to end her existence yet again but only to be stopped by the same mysterious individual that had spoken to her earlier.
"Why do you even bother trying to help me? Why can't it just be over! Why just WHY?!" There was no reply from the mysterious individual, only silence but a comforting hug was attempted. The individual in question ripped Crescent Rose out of Ruby's hands and tossed it away from her.
"I don't know who you are, I don't know what you've been through I can't even begin to imagine. What I do know is we've been through the same level of pain. It's why we were both here. You remind me of me when I first came here, so please let it all out. Ruby looked at the person with tears in her eyes. It had been at that moment that the dam that had been holding everything back broke. Completely like the hoover dam being destroyed .
Ruby wailed, wailed like she never had before all the years of pain, suffering and bottled up emotions were now being unleashed all at once. An absolute flood of tears came from Ruby's Silver eyes. As for the rest of Ruby's body just collapsed into the mysterious person's arms, as almost all other functions cease to function.
Yet The mysterious person said nothing, and knew what his purpose was at that time. It was to be a pillar of emotional strength. He would not judge, because a pillar was meant to support and not judge.
Even though he knew what pain this girl/woman was going through, it still hurt. To see someone else in the same amount of pain that he had been through at one point in time. He was brought out of his thoughts when Ruby shifted, instead of him hugging Ruby. Ruby was now hugging the mysterious person and crying into his chest.
"yhw idd ti evha ot eb em?!"
Ruby had tried to mumble out some incoherent words while she bawled her eyes out.
"Shhh you don't have to speak right now. Just let it all out, I'll be here as long as you need me." The soft gentle voice spoke to Ruby and it had only seemed to increase the volume of her crying. As sad as it is to see someone break down. It's needed especially after one's emotions have been bottled up for such a long time.
The stranger sat there and let Ruby wail her heart out, as he didn't know what else to do then to let her cry. For him to come to terms with his pain was to cry it all out and try to find a way to work it out. Still to this day he hasn't found the missing piece to complete the puzzle. All he could do at this point was to try and help this girl out, it was that or continue to stare out into the void.
This was a full Psychotic breakdown, it was to the point that Ruby was having Nasal discharge. She was so emotionally damaged that she was even making herself sick in Limbo of all places. Alas the mysterious person did not know how to help other than to just sit their and hold the crying woman.
Time passed so much time passed that Ruby had cried herself to sleep. The mysterious figure also had passed out.
When Ruby came to she had a hard time opening her eyes due to all of the crusty goo stuff on her eyelids. She also found herself in the arms of some stranger. She also noticed that she was floating in some kind of grey void with said person. How did she get here…..
Her eyes widened as the events from the last 3 days replayed in her head. She shed a tear, even after crying herself to sleep it wasn't enough to get rid of the pain. Though she felt better after crying. It was comforting to have a warm hug after all it was warm. Probably the warmest hug Ruby ever had. Even if this hug was warm she needed to know who this person was.
"Wake up." Ruby's dull voice range out in the void. Nothing, no response.
Ruby shook the stranger yes again.
"I said wake up!" This time much louder than before. This seemed to stir the mysterious individual from his slumber.
"Huh?! Who, what, when, where!" The individual spoke out.
He looked down to see Ruby still in his arms. "I'm sorry I fell asleep right after you did here let me give you brea-"
"Don't let go."
The individual looked surprised, very surprised.
"If I can't die I don't want to be left alone." That statement made the mysterious person's eyes widen. It was how he felt when he was here by himself.
"Alright I understand. I assume you want to know who I am right?"
"Yes."
The mysterious individual smiled slightly, she was talking. That was a start. "My name is Usal Yuckleave. Nice to meet you, what is your name?"
"Ruby Rose."
Rose that name. Usal heard it before at 1 point in time on Remnant, but where did he hear it? He would potentially remember at some point.
"You know why I'm here so tell me why are you here?" The silver eyed girl asked Usal dully.
"For a similar reason, but not because I killed myself but because I died of a broken heart, and yes that's an actual medical condition. In my home world."
Wait home world what did he mean by that? " "what do you mean by, in my homewold? isn't there only two worlds?"" Ruby asked inquisitively.
"Ruby there are an infinite number of worlds out there, what Stephen Hawking said was true. There are infinite parallel universes."
Ruby looked at him in a dumbfounded look, had the void driven this man crazy? That had to have been the case there was no way, the relic had shown her, everyone with the truth was.
"Are you sure you haven't gone crazy from being here for however long you've been here?" Ruby genuinely asked in a slight tone of concern.
"I assure you I am quite sane, at first when I was here I went through what you did. But in time I regained my sanity back. Although it took a long time, I've probably spent years here although I can't be too certain how long I've been here for. It could be as short as 1 year or 7 years, here in limbo time passes differently. For example if I spent 6 months here it could have 6 years in your world. But thinking back on it now, it would be best to share how I got here. I can tell you if you want to hear."
"If you're willing to tell me about your world I'll hear it."
"Alright We will start about three months, leading up to the events that brought me here and then what happened afterward."
"Let's see the day was July 8, 2019, my 17th birthday. Where I lived in the world, allowed those who are 17 to get what is known as the driver's license where I lived or I should say area I lived. It was normal to get your driver's license right on your 17th birthday. Anyways, I passed my test with flying colors. And for my birthday my dad bought a slightly used 2017 mustang GT. GT stands for grand touring package.
"Essentially means it's an upgraded version. Of the base model car. You see the things that made me curious about the whole car purchase thing was. My dad was always very frugal with his money and didn't want to waste it on things that would eventually depreciate and break down. Unless he absolutely had to. That was."
"Dad was a somewhat famous astrophysicist." Ruby poked Usal to keep him from going forward with the story.
"What's an astrophysicist?" Ruby asked curiously.
"Oh I completely forgot to tell you what an astrophysicist is. Simplified it pretty much means that person's a really smart person and knows a lot of math, and he knows a lot about how the universe works."
"So pretty much that means they're scientists? And they study the stars, you guys have enough time to study the stars?"
"Yes we do in fact, we were the Apex predator of our world. Which means that we were the most powerful species on the planet. We inhabited every corner of the globe because of this we had a lot of spare time to do stuff but it's not all cracked out as it may seem. this had its own set of problems though."
"How could being, the most dominant species on the planet, have any negative side effects I don't understand? you guys had so much time on your hands. That you Guys started researching beyond your own planet.?" Ruby asked Usal.
"It seems you guys never had some of our problems, because there it's not as nearly as many people here as there were in my world. In short we had an overpopulation problem. Planet Earth could only support so many people. We had way, way, way overshot that number. There were 9 billion people when I was last there. Yes, that is a billion with a B.
"You mean to tell me there are 9 billion people on earth!
"Yes 9 billion different people with tons and tons and tons of different backgrounds, origins, you name it, different groups of people believe in different gods, celebrate different holidays, you name it. Mother Earth could only support so many people though and we were burning through her resources and unprecedented rate. This caused starvation, death, wars, hate, racism. I was very fortunate to be born in the most powerful country in the world. There was always food in the grocery stores, and food always on the table."
"Anyways I'm getting a little bit off topic he-" Usal had been Abruptly cut off.
"Talk about your world I want to know everything about. I want to know what it's like to live in a world with gods and grim."
"We don't exactly have time for that, we're in limbo, we're not supposed to be here forever. We're supposed to go back to the world of the living. We weren't meant to die yet. The azoth keeps us suspended here. Your friends and family need you, as for I don't have anything. I lost it all coming to this world to try and prove a point. A point that was correct and wrong at the same time."
"You're telling me I have to live with this pain no matter what no matter what I do."
"Pain is not that simple, we have to live with it, I wish I would've figured that out sooner. We all have trauma that we have to work through but. When you ignore the trauma and let it build up, that is when we break down. That's why we're both here. We have to work through our pain and trauma before we leave. If we leave before then, we will only end up back here. It's why I haven't left yet. I could leave if I wanted to, but I have yet to work through my pain. It will never be the same as it once was, but it gets easier to deal with the pain once you begin to work through."
"Why are the Gods so cruel then, why do they let their creations suffer so much I don't understand."
"It's rather simple really, gods don't exist, it's the greatest lie that has ever been told to you guys. The relics, magic, it's all been one really gigantic lie. Conceivably the most convoluted lie I've ever seen. It was done to prevent the ultimate evil from returning. As long as possible that was until the soul wardens could be rebuilt."
Ruby was here again dumbfounded by the flood of information she had to have been going crazy now. There was no way the relics which she had held in person of all things. Had lied there was no way. Like the relic knowledge said that all of what she knew was real and happened for crying out loud. This guy had to be the crazy one.
"You're lying, there's no conceivable way everything we've known to be the truth is a lie. There's no way, are you sure you're not the crazy one?"
"I can assure you what I tell you is the truth. How do you think I acquired this armor and weapons that you see? There is a secluded cave on an island where I ended up, heavily guarded by Azoth. Only those who have an affinity for it can get in, unless they are invited in. Ask me how I know."
"From what I can gather on the text that was down there in the cave, I'll keep this short. This was all done to prevent something called The Corruption. From taking over all of Aeternum. Apparently all the continents in this world were originally all in one great continent. But we're fragmented when something called the mother well, and the well of Azoth were but destroyed/ sealed. Five soul wardens gave everything. Paid with their souls, gave up their immortality to save Aeternum. By making it Remnant."
"Aren't the heroes always supposed to succeed? I mean their hero's they can't fail?"
"I see I think I know where some of your pain came from, let me ask you this. Did you always want to be a hero like the heroes from the movies TV shows, and comics?"
Usal Had hit the nail right on the head, Ruby looked at him stupefied. He had just seen through, The facade that Ruby had put on, since the death of her mother. She had put up that mask of confidence and fun, to make it look like the death of her mother hadn't destroyed her on the inside. Truth was she never recovered. And continuously hid behind the mask so the others would not have to see her pain. After all the heroes we're never in pain. They always succeeded and they were always happy.
"Yes! I wanted to be like the hero's in the book I wanted to be an amazing Huntress just like mom. BUT all I DID WAS FAIL AGAIN AND AGAIN I COULDN'T SAVE PYRRHA, I COULDN'T SAVE PENNY BOTH TIMES I COULDN'T SAVE ATLAS AND MANTLE! I COULDN'T SAVE ANYONE! WHY!? WHY COULDN'T I SAVE THE PEOPLE I WANTED TO SAVE THE MOST!" Those tears of despair spilled out once again.
"It's because we're not perfect, no one is, no one is perfect." Nothing, it didn't help to try and stop Rubys crying. Maybe Usal would have to take more drastic measures.
"Do you want me to tell you the story of where a superhero goes crazy. Because they tried being perfect, there was a comic on it in my world. I'll tell you if you want to hear it."
"Why? Why do you try so much? You couldn't have as much as I HAVE!"
"You shut the fuck up and shut the fuck up now. You self centered Bitch! You can even begin to imagine what I lost. Do you still have family members' dreams or aspirations? If you did, you had more than I did." Then tone said it all, that gentle voice he had earlier was gone; it was now cold as ice, cold enough to freeze over hell. "I lost because of my choices. I chose to honor my dad's dying wish. I chose to jump between worlds to prove that he was right. My best friend David threw away his future to ensure that I would be able to cross the barriers with no interference. So before you go and say that someone hasn't lost anything, or lost less than you have you should get your facts straight first."
Ruby was aghast no one has ever called her out like that before, never in the entirety of her life could she ever remember being called out like that. But he was right. She was being a selfish self-centered bitch wallowing in her own pain and Pity.
"I- your right."
"I'm sorry, could you repeat that?" That tone had changed; it was not as harsh as before. It sounded more surprising.
"I said you're right, how many times do you want me to repeat it?" That dull tone returned
Maybe there was hope for Ruby Usal had never seen a female admit that they were wrong. "I'm surprised, that's because I've never heard a female ever admit they were wrong to me before. In my world they almost never took accountability or responsibility for their actions. They would play with the hearts of guys like they were toys and then replace them when they were done. It's the reason I never tried to get a girlfriend. I didn't want to have my Heart played with and thrown out when they were done playing with it."
"I'M SORRY THEY WOULD DO WHAT?!" Ruby was furious. "You mean to tell me that women would just go and play with mens hearts! How dare they!" Ruby had practically spat that statement out.
Usal had never been so surprised with a woman's words up until now. The reason he was surprised? Was because Ruby was being honest and he knew it.
"Yes I do, and I knew if someone had done that to me I wouldn't know what to do with myself so to me it was easier to stay single and not be hurt. I won't say that men didn't do it, they did. Lots of guys did it but I would say the percentage was much much lower. I didn't just want to "hook up with some girl" I wanted to find a life partner but I found it exceedingly difficult."
"You know Remnant is very different, that would be extremely frowned upon here." Ruby also came to another realization, her unwillingness to negotiate with Ironwood. It was her way or the highway, both sides of the coin would not give an inch.
"It's all my fault, the fall of Atlas I wouldn't negotiate with general Ironwood. Penny's death is the result of my failure to negotiate with Ironwood, our fall into the Ever After. It was my fault because I wouldn't negotiate. It's all my fault. Some huntress I turned out to be."
"WHOAH! You know not everything has to be your fault, people can throw wrenches into your plan. Don't be too hard on yourself. But accepting that some stuff can be your fault is definitely a step in the right direction." Usal said with a small smile on his face
"Still, I should apologize to you for what I said. It was uncalled for." Ruby looked up at Usal with sadness in her eyes.
Damn the silver eyes Seeing those eyes tear up once again was hard for Usal.
"I accept your apology." Usal muttered out underneath his breath.
"What was that?"
"I said I accept your apology."
"Thank you. Could you please tell me about the comic you were talking about earlier?"
"I suppose I should. So in essence, it is about Superman and Batman. Both of them are hero's with completely different back stories, Batman is the son of a billionaire Who was murdered in an alleyway, along with his mother. Superman is an alien from a different planet, his powers are given by the sun and didn't know about his powers or his origin until he was about 18. Now there is something you need to understand about the comics in my world. It's not all one storyline. They have different storylines and different scenarios."
"So let's continue. In this Off-track issue called Injustice, Superman and Batman at the beginning. Are still friends and work together, Batman watches over Gotham city. While superman watches over metropolis, Superman had 2 underlying weaknesses One which was his crippling weaknesses. Which was kryptonite, and the other was his emotions or rather his love for Lois Lane. While Batman was just a man in a Bat Costume who had a lot of preptime, Batman's weaknesses were rather simple. He was still Human, but he never let his emotions get in the way of his work. "
"Next the main villains for the story are Harley Quinn and The Joker, The Joker is someone that Batman normally has to deal with in Gotham city. And is a very regular problem. Batman has a code of ethics never to kill ever. So The Joker escapes jail and Batman puts him away over and over and over. It's an endless cycle. But Batman is steadfast in the justice system. Now Joker, getting tired of failing to have Batman kill him, tries out a different route. He goes after Superman, after being warned by Batman that The Joker is a very big problem and should not be taken lightly. Superman ignores this warning and thinks he can deal with The Joker just fine."
"What Superman didn't know was that Joker was going to go for his pregnant girlfriend. Lois Lane. Joker kidnaps Lois Lane, and implants a chip and her heart that if her heart were to stop it would set off a bomb that will destroy all of Metropolis. The next phase of Joker's plan involved him making a special mixture of his hallucination gas. That involves using kryptonite, or and when superman wasn't paying attention The Joker and Harley Quinn jumped him. And hit him with the gas. After which, Superman goes on a hallucinated spree through Metropolis. He finds Lois Lane and drags her up into space, killing her the unborn child and detonating the bomb that destroyed Metropolis."
"Once Batman got a hold of Joker, he had him in an interrogation room. When he asked why the Joker did this, the Joker's reply was simple. He wanted to play the game on easy mode, because he always lost to Batman. He said how it was so easy to win against Superman. It was after that, that Superman broke into the interrogation room and smashed his fist through Joker's heart killing."
"After this occurs, Batman convinces Superman to go home and grieve. But this does not last long, Superman starts blaming Batman for not stopping Joker permanently. Batman states that he will not kill because he doesn't know if he'll be able to stop himself from killing in the future. Superman doesn't agree; he thinks that people need to be killed now in order to be stopped. Superman goes to one of the rallies where the supporters of Joker go to and gather. Even though these people hadn't committed any crimes, he goes after them and starts killing them as he thinks they will do what Joker did. Superman's bloodlust has not been Sated even after killing all of The Jokers and supporters. He thinks all criminals need to be killed."
"Batman tries to talk to Superman one more time trying to convince him to stop his rampage, saying that he hasn't grieved properly. Hasn't had time to process the loss of his girlfriend and unborn child, and that he's bottling up his emotions. Yet Batman is ignored and Superman continues his rampage. After Superman killed all of the criminals in Metropolis and Gotham. He starts attacking other countries in the world bringing peace through force. And in the process of doing so killed thousands of people that stood in his way. He did what he promised to protect people against, taking away a free will. Forcing the world to believe in his twisted version of justice."
"Batman was the only one who could stop Superman, so he set a trap. What he did was capture Harley Quinn who had been managing to hide from Superman the whole time. And set her up as bait, his trap was a red sunroom which was emulating the conditions of Superman's home world. Superman fell for the bait, and got trapped in Batman trap."
"I've shortened the story up a great deal but that is a synopsis of what happened." Usal thoroughly explained.
"So you're telling me that even superheroes can break down as well?"
"Any living being can have a mental breakdown, anyone with emotions or sentient thoughts. I don't know why the comics in this world are trying to paint superheroes as invincible but that's not the reality everyone can fail. I can and will fail in the future, so will you. We need to learn from past failures and improve upon them. That's why I stayed here, because I know I'm not ready to go back. Because I don't want to be alone, being alone is cruel and until I have something to live for, something to fight for, someone to love, I'll only die lonely again."
This had been a tremendous amount of information for a ruby to absorb in a short time frame, just the absolute deluge of information was mind boggling. It Is hard to process such information in a short time frame.
"I always thought that I was going to be this big amazing Huntress just like mom, I made it into beacon 2 years early. Then I became the youngest Huntress in Remnant, but all I did was fail. I was the Team leader of RWBY and the leader of team RNJR. I led the mission to save the people of Atlas and Mantle but I wasn't able to get the last few of us out. We fell into the Ever After, where I began to break down. I didn't fully break down until just recently. It was after Neo showed me all of my failures, all the people that died because I couldn't do it all. All I wanted to do was to live up to moms name and Ozpin's expectations but all I did was fail."
"I think you're looking at it the wrong way, your mission was a complete success to save the people if you manage to get all the people out. Where you failed was tying up the loose ends, getting everyone else out that was integral to the mission is where you failed. But not everything will go to plan, you have to assume that your enemy knows your plan. I'm guessing that's what happened right. They somehow found out your plan and chose to ambush you when people were gone."
"I- your right Neo and Cider ambushed us right as everyone was getting out. There were only half of us left as well, we were tired and hadn't gotten much sleep in the past 48 hours before then. They were fresh, we were not."
Usal smiled at Ruby's admitting her fault, as well as ignoring what was not her fault. "Now what is this Ever After place you're talking about?"
"The Ever After is a mysterious place that 2 other people from Remnant fell into and when one of them returned they wrote a book about it. We all read this book as kids and didn't relize that all of the things that happened in the book were real."
How we got there was when Cinder Managed to knock all of us down in the void below us that was below us. The staff of creation was used to make walkways and portals to Vacuo in a void like area. Me Yang, Wiess, Blake, and Jaune. Things happened and I blew up on everyone and ran away. That's where Neo showed me all of my failures, and I was so down in the dumps I drank her poison tea and killed myself. Then we met here."
"So that's what happened huh", is what Usal thought. "I- I might be able to help you guys but I'm not sure if it's best for me to leave here just yet." The tone for the first time since Rubys met this Usal had been indecisive sounding. To say the least. Ruby looked at him, with surprise on her face. He could help!? How?!
"How can you help! You mean to tell me you could help us? Please tell me!" Usal saw a look of hope on Ruby's face, in her eyes. He said to much in that moment he couldn't back out of his statement now could he.
"Yes I can, using the power of Azoth I can temporarily open the portal between worlds. it's how I inadvertently ended up here, at the time I didn't realize what had happened. My dad and I made synthetic Azoth and didn't even realize it. If I were to return to the world of the living I could pull you out of the Ever After. But afterwards I would be incredibly drained. But as you know I don't know if I am ready to leave. I don't want to be alone after saving you guys."
Ruby saw it, way out of the ever after. A new Ally, another person to help fight Salem. She wondered what this Azoth stuff could do. Would she be able to learn how to use it? Was it like her eyes? Ruby had hope, the first time she had hope after finding out all that information from Jin.
"I wouldn't let you be alone, not after everything you've done for me here. Not after helping us, my team wouldn't let you be alone either. If you're going to help us, how do you plan on getting us out?"
Usal looked surprised that he just heard those words out of Ruby's mouth?
"How do I know? There's a difference between being surrounded by people and being alone. Then having friends and family, and not being alone."
Ruby did the most shocking thing Usal had thought possible: she kissed him, not on the cheek but squarely lips. She had broken free of his Grasp and kissed him on the lips.
"That's how, I know. Nor would the rest of us won't let you be in pain anymore. I also expect you to keep me honest and not let me bottle anything up anymore."
Shock was an understatement, Usal's world had just been turned upside down. In the matter of about two days he went from being in pain to having hope again. He did something that he thought he'd never do, he kissed Ruby back. Normally both of them would have been a brushing mess but her after everything that happened there in limbo kissing was nothing.
"Alright you've convinced me, if I'm coming back to help you guys. You're going to need this." Usal reached into 1 of 3 leather satchel's that were on his person and grabbed three items out. "You're going to need this portable Azoth Shrine and 2 vials of suspended Azoth. I'm giving you two to be on the safe side, because I don't know how long it's going to take you. To find your friends versus when I'm going to make it to the nearest Azoth shrine, The moment you find your friends. Place down the beacon and use one vial, that'll create the bridge on your side. and then when I have the bridge on my side I will come through, if you're fighting any enemies. I'll keep them off of you long enough for you to get your friends out and then I'm coming with you."
"I'll be waiting for you on the other side!" Ruby said as she stepped away from Usal. For the first the first time Ruby got a good look at Usal's ridiculous looking armor.
"There's a lot I have not explained, there's a lot I know that'll change your perception of reality. I'm not going to explain any of it right now after everyone's back safe and we've had time to sort things out. I'll say everything I know at once. So I don't have to repeat myself 1000 times. I never felt that I deserved to wear this armor. But I did it because I had no other choice, but if I need to come and save you guys and I'm gonna wear it with pride. I don't have a lot of experience with this Azoth power, please forgive me if I don't understand how to fully control it. To be fully honest with you it's probably just going to be me going full hammer the entire time." Usal said.
Ruby took one look at Usal and blushed a bit, Usal was good looking. He stood at 6'2" and had been built completely different to any other guy that she had seen in Remnant. He had light brown hair and green eyes. His armor looked ridiculous, it had antlers mounted on the top of his helmet Blue and green all over the rest of the leggings and boots and gloves with white fur wrapped around The top of the chess plate. (AN: think of the corruption armor set from the winter convergence event on New World.)
They began to glow blue. Usal grabbed Crescent Rose and handed it to Ruby. He then grabbed something else out of his satchel, it was a giant staff nearly as tall as Ruby. " I'm giving this to you as extra insurance, in case you or your friends get hurt. You can use this to heal them. Be careful it could use an exorbitant amount of mana. It's called a lifestaff, I trust your judgment. Now when you come back to life you're going to be exactly where you died. How much time has passed in the Ever After I do not know, Time passes differently in every world compared to Limbo."
"Thank you for everything, I'll see you when you come to get us!" Both Usal and Ruby glowed even brighter than before. Both faded out of limbo, leaving it the desolate place as it once was before.

Phew this took me a while. I hope you guys liked this chapter! I don't know where I'm going to take the story yet. But let's find out together where it goes.
I know some of you guys are going to hate that I'm using caps, I'm just trying to express things the best that I can. While keeping a flow, there will be caps next Chapter but I'm going to be Heavily reducing how much I'm using them after Chapter 2.
Also I need a beta that is familiar with New World, and/or RWBY
