A/N: Hello my lovely readers! I'm back! And I'd like to say how thankful I am for all the positive responses for this story! You guys are the best!

Chapter 7: Race Car Rally

After a few more rounds of drinks and two more singing challenges, we decided to head out of the karaoke bar known as Bloodsuckers to Renesmee's apartment. I insisted on going to mine but she and Erica suggested that 'my apartment was the place to be' whatever that meant.

Tonight was one of the craziest yet greatest nights of my life, one, because I got to spend it with one of my craziest friends, Embry. Not only that but I think I got to know Erica better. She was crazy just like Embry, I mean, who dances on a Karaoke table? I understood why Embry liked her. If they got drunk and flew all the way to Las Vegas and got eloped, I wouldn't be surprised.

Renesmee and I were sat on her couch, listening and watching Erica and Embry sing off key to William's song on the sing-a-long microphones which I think belonged to Rosie.

We can dip left slide right all night

It's time to be wild

Freestyle

It's on and poppin'

Ain't no stoppin' us from rocking

From tonight to ten o'clock

"I can't believe they brought the karaoke here!" Renesmee said covering her eyes. I sniggered as I watched Erica and Embry make twirls while dancing –oh so they call it– horribly.

"I don't know, I think they're good." I shrugged. She stared at me like I was insane.

"Really?" she questioned. "Erica can't pop a tune even if her life's dependant on it and you're telling me that they're… good?" She answered, straining the word.

"Yeah I guess you've got a point." I replied.

"I'm afraid of what the landlord will say about having pets in the building. He might even kick me out!" She said in shudder. I frowned in confusion. The time I've spent in Renesmee's apartment, I haven't noticed one other living being besides her and Rosie,

"You don't have any pets?" I stated. She nodded.

"You see my dilemma!" She exclaimed motioning to the two bimbos we call our friends. I chuckled.

"This beat bangs, here's my chance. Come on girl, let's go, I can't…" Embry serenaded to Erica.

"I'm sure he won't kick you." I assured her.

"And how sure are you?" She asked.

"Because you're the most beautiful person in this building." I whispered to her ear. She giggled lowly.

"You've got to stop doing that Jake," She said.

"It's true Ness." I said to her.

"Right, soon enough you'll be going to a Race Car Rally and confessing how beautiful I am on the top of a race car!" She said sarcastically rolling her eyes. I smiled.

"Yeah, I might!" I replied and she stared at me with wide eyes. I chuckled. "I'm just kidding."

"Well don't 'kid' about that Jake, you know how much I hate those kinds of things." She said, crossing her arms. She was right. She told me about her hatred for anything that involved speed and danger when we were on our first date. I've always wondered why.

"Okay, I'm sorry, I promise I won't mention anything involving cars again." I told her. She smiled back.

"Thank you,"

"Not even the Formula one." I teased. She glared at me and I just chuckled and kissed her forehead. While my lips were on her skin, I caught the sight of an inhaler on the stand beside the couch. I went up to reach for it and stared at the pink lid which had fairy stickers all over.

"Hey, who's inhaler is this?" I asked. She stared at it and her small simper fell.

"Oh um…yeah that's Rosie's." She told me.

"Like for asthma?" I asked.

"Yeah, remember I told you that she was born prematurely and had some complications?" She asked. I nodded. "Yeah well asthma was one of them. She had lots of other complications thought, and the doctor's said she might not make it but she pulled through." She said with sadness in her tone.

I couldn't imagine how a mother would feel about almost losing her own child and practically a part of her gone. Renesmee was one of those strong women for sure.

"Well I guess she's one tough cookie huh." I replied with a huge grin. She giggled and nodded.

"Most definitely," She replied.

"Hey Jakey boy and Nessie, come and join the party yo!" Embry shouted as he motioned for us to come over and sing with them. I turned to Renesmee who just shrugged.

"I think we're good here bro" I replied. Embry shrugged.

"Whatever you say dingus!" he replied as he continued on singing with Erica. "Okay Rica, from the top. One. Two. Three…"

"Don't stop believing! Hold on to that feeling! Streetlights, people. Don't stop believing, hold on…" They sang even louder and more off tune than they ever had –If that was even possible.

We spent the remainder of the night just watching and listening to Erica and Embry sing –singing along at times– and having fun together. It soon died down when the landlord crashed and informed us that it was time to end it.

"It was great meeting one of Jacob's only sane girlfriend for once-" My dick of a friend Embry began but I cut him off with a clear of a throat and a kick on the knee. "I mean…it was awesome meeting you Renesmee." He said to her as he pulled her into one of our famous wolf greeting hugs. She giggled.

"Um…thanks. It was great meeting you too." She said with her beautiful smile.

"Wait until the guys hear about her Jake." Embry said nudging me. I rolled my eyes realizing I had to tell my crazy gang back home.

"Oh yeah, same goes for you Renesmee. Wait until the girls hear about how hot Jake is…" Erica exclaimed but trailed off realizing I was standing right in front of her. Renesmee glared at her. "Anyway…why don't I escort you to your car Embry?" Erica insisted as she began pulling Embry with her.

"Um sure" He shrugged and followed her trail. I just chuckled whilst Renesmee just had her face in her hands in embarrassment.

"Another embarrassment by our so called 'bff's'" She said quoting the word. I smiled.

"Where's the fun in a little humiliation hmm?" I asked and she rolled her eyes. "Do you really think I'm hot?" I asked her. Her eyes widened and she chuckled nervously.

"What?" she squealed, "No, I mean that was just Erica being…Erica," She said.

"That's too bad because I think you're hot too." I whispered to her. She smiled sheepishly as she looked up to meet my eyes. I bent down so I could feel her lips to mine again a sweet, gentile kiss. Our kiss was rudely disturbed by a honk of the horn which startled us both. I rolled my eyes when I saw Embry's middle finger point at me and Erica laughing.

"Unfortunately, I think you better get going." Renesmee giggled.

"Yeah 'unfortunate' of me." I said. She smiled. "Hey, what are you doing tomorrow?" I asked.

"Well, since Rosie's trip is ending tomorrow, I thought I'd pick her up at her school and…I have no idea what I'll do next." She snickered.

I nodded at her and then I came up with the brightest idea ever which might or might not just lead me to hell.

"Why don't I take you to her school and bring you back home safely since you're car's still being repaired?" I asked. She tried to object at first.

"Jake, you don't have to…" She contemplated but I shushed her.

"Stop with the being so modest Ness, I want to." I said to her. She grinned back widely and stared up at me with such happiness but also guilt in her eyes. I didn't understand why.

"Okay." She replied.

"I'll text you later." I said to her. She nodded and I gave her one peck on the lips and headed over to my car.

"Bye." She said to me.

It was always hard to say goodbye to Renesmee, I couldn't explain the feeling but I felt emptied without her. But I was glad I'd get to see her tomorrow with a new plan up in my sleeves. I really hoped it worked…

… …

Renesmee's (POV)

I woke up in the morning with the sound of Ryan Seacrest's voice ringing around the house. I loved Kiss FM well at least certainly I loved it better than the Tacoma stations.

I stretched my arms widely and rubbed my forehead. I had such a strong headache this morning, probably courtesy to what happened yesterday with the whole drinking and Karaoke-ing –I'm aware that isn't a real name– we did last night. Not that I drank uncontrollably but it's certainly the first time I drank in almost four years.

Thinking about last night brought me back to the time I spent with Jacob and my friends but mostly Jacob. He was so sweet and charming. The way he supported me in my 'chickening' out state of not singing, the way he cheered me on when I was singing, even his touch makes me feel cared for which brings me to the conclusion why I shouldn't be with him but my heart was telling me different.

I still haven't told him about my encounter with Riley Biers last time. I know that he's after me and I couldn't bring Jacob into it. I already had problems with him finding out about my daughter. I really didn't need that right now which was why I so glad I got to see her again and have her back in my arms.

This weekend took my minds off of things a little, I haven't seen Riley anywhere near Tacoma but I wouldn't be so confident because he could be frolicking around these woods.

I got dressed into some skinny jeans and a tank top with a hoodie. I didn't really care about my looks at this point because all I cared about was my daughter. Too much. I don't think so.

Jacob came to pick me up 20 minutes later and we drove off too Saint Lukes to pick Rosie up. When we pulled up on the school parking lot where most of the parents were parked and greeting their kids.

When Rosie saw me from standing with one of her friend's Irene and a lady who I assumed was her Blossom Scout leader, her whole face brightened and her petite body came storming towards me.

"Hey baby!" I exclaimed giving her a huge hug. She giggled. "How are you sweetie?"

"I'm good momma. I miss you!" She exclaimed.

"I missed you too my little Blossom Scout!" I cooed giving her a light tickle on her stomach. She giggled joyfully.

"Hello" I heard a voice come up towards us. I looked up to see the lady that stood with Rosie in her all yellow uniform that had badges all over her. "You must be Ms. Masen, Rosie's mother. It's really good to meet you, I'm Ms. Watts, the Blossom scout leader for Saint Lukes but you can call me Ivana."

"Its great meeting you Ivana, you can call me Nessie." I said remembering the nickname Jacob gave me and giving her a handshake.

"Oh well. I just came over to say how wonderful your daughter was at the Camporee this weekend and an excellent example of a future blossom scout leader one day." The dark haired woman said who seemed to be in her twenties.

"I'm sure she will be." I said smiling down at my daughter who was currently counting all her badges.

"Hey there little squirt!" I heard Jacob exclaim from behind me. Rosie's eyes bulged in happiness.

"Jakey!" she screamed and ran up to him and he scooped her up and spun her around.

"How ya doing?" he asked.

"I'm great! Look at my new badges! One for creating a good Build-a-sandcastle and one for making the best S'mores," She said happily.

"I knew you could do it!" Jake said giving her a high-five. I smiled at the scene.

"Oh I didn't know you were married?" Ivana said as she stared at Jacob in bewilderment and adornment. Oh she did not just stare at him in adornment!

"Oh we're not married." I said with a light chuckle. She nodded in interest. Oh I wished I lied and said I was completely and utterly married to him woman!

"Oh well, I guess that's my cue to leave. I still have to meet a lot of families. But it was great meeting you Nessie and…" She said staring at Jake who had hardly acknowledged her presence.

"Hmm?" he said in obliviousness. "Oh, Jake," He said. I smiled at him. Ivana nodded and bid her goodbye.

"Well why don't we get you home now Rosie, you must've had one long weekend." I said.

"I was thinking we could take one quick detour somewhere before we get you two ladies back."

"Jake?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.

"Just one quick detour…" He said but not convincingly. He was hiding something but I couldn't put my finger on what.

… …

"Jake you said it was a quick detour, I don't see my apartment anywhere near here!" I exclaimed as I stared at the unfamiliar area. It seemed like a city near Lakebay and an unfamiliar stadium.

"Don't worry Ness. We'll be home sooner or later."

"I don't like the 'later' part Jake." I told him. He just chuckled and continued his drive.

When we stopped near the stadium he stopped the car and stared at me with a wide smile.

"Where are we Jake?" I asked.

"I want you two wonderful girls to do something for me will you?" He asked ignoring my question. "I have a surprise for you two."

"I'm excited!" Rosie exclaimed.

I didn't know what Jacob was up to but I sure as hell didn't like it very much. And if things couldn't get any more worrying, he pulled out two blue blindfolds and handed one to Rosie and I.

"Jake, what are you doing?" I asked my voice in an equal amount of worry as my thinking. I hated surprises just like my mother did.

"Just trust me okay?" He said. I took a glimpse back at him before sighing and reluctantly taking the blindfold. For as long as I've known Jake, I knew I could trust him.

He wrapped the blindfold tightly around us both and we got out of the car and he stared escorting us somewhere. I didn't exactly know where we were until I heard the smell of fuel in my nostrils.

"Stay here" He said to us both and I felt him move away from our grasps.

About ten minutes later, I felt warm hands gently take off the blindfolds.

"Now you can open your eyes." I heard Jacob say. I lightly fluttered my eyes open and stared at where I was. "Surprise!" he exclaimed.

Stadium! Roads that twirl around! Banners everywhere! Race car gear all around…

Flashback

"Sweet candy, you should trust me. I promise you I won't get hurt." My loving boyfriend said in his New Jersey accent. I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, that's what John said and look what happened to him!" I replied remembering the movie I watched about a federal sergeant saying his last goodbye to his wife.

"I'll be okay and sooner or later you'll have me with you and we'll probably have our 100, 000 000th make out session right here on this couch." He said. I giggled and roll my eyes.

"Oh my alligator…" I said to him.

"Come on, it's just for three months." He said.

"Yeah, a lot can happen in three months." I whispered with my hands on my flat yet growing stomach. He gave me one brilliant smile and I could swear his white teeth glistened in the sunlight. He then bent so he was in level with my stomach.

"Ring ring!" He said, pretending as if he was a cell. I chuckled. "This caller isn't available right now. Leave a message after the beep." He said impersonating the woman's voice. I couldn't control my laugher.

"Hey there buddy. It's daddy here and I was wondering if you'd keep Mommy Company while I'm gone hey she gets a little crazy when daddy isn't home," He said and I slapped him on the shoulder "and when I do come back, I'll probably have a little champion ship present when you get outta there." He added as he began lifting my shirt and planting a kiss on my stomach. "Remember, daddy loves you." He said.

I couldn't help but smile down at him and think about how ridiculously lucky I am to have him and how he'd be an amazing father to our little boy.

I pulled his face up in a deep kiss on the lips. I couldn't help but deepen it realizing I wouldn't get to kiss them for the next three months. It was disturbed by the sound of the door banging and Riley's voice entering the house.

"Yo! Yo! The Bier's is in the house!" He exclaimed as he came in.

"You know how much I hate you dingus!"

"Oh I know you love me dude!" Riley replied and they began tackling each other down. I just rolled my eyes at the two boys.

"Okay guys, I don't want to castrate both of you for breaking my grandmother's favorite lamp!" I warned them.

"Oh come on sweet candy, no harm in a little fun." Riley teased. I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Nobody calls me sweet candy except my alligator." I told him. My alligator smiled mischievously.

"Oh really Ms. Masen?" he said pulling my by the waist and into another kiss. Riley groaned.

"Stop it! Before I have the sudden urge to kill myself!" he shouted. We giggled. "Okay, are we going now dude?" Riley asked.

"Yeah sure," Rex said and the guys then grabbed all their suitcases from the door. I walked with them and gave Rex his favorite helmet and Dr. Thunder.

"Call me when you get off the plane." I told him. He gave me one more kiss on the lips and took the helmet and drink happily.

"Of course my love, I'll be back and you'll start calling me 'The Champion Man'" He said. I rolled my eyes and patted his chest.

"Right future Champion man." I giggled. "See you later alligator"

"In a while sweet candy" He replied and left the apartment on his way to the airport.

I never thought in a million years that that would've been the last time I saw Rex but when I heard the call that he died and watched the news on T.V. And I could remember it in vivid detail.

"During the Championship Race Car Rally Grand Pix, we are sad to announce that one of the top Race Car drivers has just been pronounced dead in Milan General Hospital. As you can see by the disturbing images of the crashed car, the driver known as Rex _ has been described as a selfless man, only caring about others. He always had a smile on his face which seemed to be contagious to everyone around him. He was a happy-go-jolly person and will forever be remembered.

He's left alone his family and his fiancé back home in Tacoma Washington. He was only 19 years of age…"

After hearing those words I just broke down in hysterical tears…

As I stared at my surroundings, I felt my heart flutter a 1000 beats a minute, if not then more! I must've been having a panic attack. No! I am having a panic attack.

"Renesmee are you okay?" I heard distant voices ring in my ears. "Renesmee!" I heard someone scream for me.

I couldn't breathe. My heart wasn't steady! All the images of Rex broken down flooded my brain like a million water streams.

After hyperventilating a few more times, I felt hot lips on me and I just saw darkness…

… …

Time flew which seemed like forever when I felt a cold ice-pack on my forehead and I felt my eyes flutter open. I looked up to see Jacob's eyes of worry meet mine.

"Oh Renesmee!" he exclaimed in relief and he kissed my forehead. "You scared me half to death!" He said.

"What just happened?" I asked my tone of voice rusty. I cleared my throat.

"Momma," I heard my little Rosie's voice whisper beside me. I titled my head to see my daughter's pink and puffy face. I could tell she was crying. "Mommy, you scared me!" She cried out.

"I'm sorry baby." I said to her as I pulled her into my arms. "Jake?" I asked.

"You scared me a lot Renesmee, what happened?" He asked. I stared at the wide open space of the stadium that I was still in.

"I'm sorry Jake, I should've told you." I told him.

"Told me what?"

"It's nothing really." I told him.

"You almost having a heart-attack is certainly nothing Renesmee, tell me what happened back there?" He asked. I sighed.

"I didn't tell you exactly how Rex died. Remember I told you he was a race car driver so…" I said hoping he'd catch on and he did.

"God, Renesmee I'm so sorry. I'm so stupid! I-" He started putting himself down but I cut him off.

"No Jake, it's not your fault."

"I should've thought first-" He added.

"Seriously Jake, it's okay." I said gripping his hand in assurance. He stared at me with wet eyes and nodded. I took a good look at him and noticed he was in some sort of uniform. "Why are you dressed like that?" I laughed.

"Um…yeah, I thought I'd surprise you by hiring this entire stadium and riding in one of those sports cars but I guess I can't anymore." He said. I looked forward to see two race car's standing by the side. I smiled at him.

"Go ride on one of them." I insisted. He frowned in confusion.

"But I can see that you don't like them so I thought that I shouldn't-"

"I want you to Jake. You're supposed to have a little adrenaline in your life." I laughed. He smiled.

"Are you sure?" He asked. I nodded.

As much as I hated the idea, I knew how much Jake wanted to do this and I wasn't going to stand between it but instead support it.

Jacob got in one of those fast cars and started the car whilst Rosie and I stood by the rails and watched him drive around. I had to admit that he was quite good and it was a great experience watching it but it still wouldn't change my opinion about them of course.

Jake dropped us off our apartment and we spent the rest of the day spending quality time with Rosie and eating Chinese food.

… …

Yesterday was a day well spent with Jake…well most of it and I couldn't wait to do something way different again. But I guess the weekend was over and it was time for work again. Ugh! Even thinking about it makes me sick. I was just glad that my shift ended and I got to visit my family.

My grandfather called me to tell me we had a family meeting at the main Masen house. I didn't know what it meant. When he told me, he sounded quite off I don't really know.

Walking into the house was kind of like an atoll moment. I haven't been here since the Family Dinner we had almost three months ago.

"Well this brings back some memories huh?" Erica said and I chuckled at her. "And if you say anything about Nahuel I swear to god I'll kill you." She warned and I just rolled my eyes.

We then heard voices coming from the living room area.

"She's going to lose it when she finds about her." I heard my Aunt Alice voice to someone.

"I don't really know how she'll cope."

"I just want her to have a clear head before we tell her." Finally I heard my father's voice. I frowned and stared down at my daughter.

"Honey, why don't you head over to your room." I told her. She nodded and I watched her go up the stairs and running into her spare room whenever she came to sleepover.

"Whose head needs to be cleared?" I asked as I entered the room. Everyone's saddened eyes met mine.

"Renesmee, we're glad you made it." My Grandfather Carlisle said to me with a weak smile but his eyes were filled with sadness. I then diverted my eyes to everyone in the room. Everyone was extremely emotional. My Aunts seeming like they were about to ball in tears and my Uncles by their sides, I looked to see my grandmother by my Mother's side as she cried in her embrace whilst my dad held onto the house cell.

"What's going on?" I asked but nobody answered until my dad broke the silence.

"Renesmee…" He said softly with his voice straining the word. I knew what he was about to say but I couldn't admit it to myself.

"Renee is…"

And my whole world almost came crumbling down when I fell to the ground in tears…

A/N: How did you like that chapter huh? I think we all know what happens next but if you're not sure, review all your thoughts. I know this chapter was kind of saddening but hey, I warned you all from the very beginning! Lol!

Rex's name has still soon to be announced because I haven't found the correct name to suit him, maybe you could give me any advices?

I don't know if you noticed or not but the first song I kinda stole from an episode of Futurama I really liked it when I first heard it.

Review Please!
