Chapter 13: The Recital

After Jacob and I left the dance studio and grabbed a bite of breakfast at Greases, we left the store. My shifts on Mondays were long but today we cut it short since it was our boss's birthday so today the shop closed up at 10:00 am. Spending time with Jacob was really great. Jacob was still trying to get over the fact he might lose his job and I really hoped today helped a lot.

I'm trying my outmost best to cheer him up and be happy for him but I can't help but feel anger burn up inside of me. The only reason Jacob still has his job and the only way to still have it is if he doesn't miss a single case.

Riley had everything to do with all of this. He was the reason Jake was losing his job, nobody needs to confirm that. I had to figure out a way to convince him to stop without Jacob knowing anything.

I've been meaning on telling Jacob about everything but I haven't found the right time…and I'm afraid he might not like me after I tell him. I mean, I'll walk up to him and say…

'Hey Jake, listen, I'm the one who sabotaged your chances on having a job and I lied to you about Riley so can we put this behind us'

That doesn't exactly spell 'girlfriend material anymore' to me. Ugh! I may be the world's worst girlfriend in the history of girlfriends. I loved Jacob so much but I definitely hate myself right now.

"What's going on that mind of yours Ness?" I heard Jake's voice reached my bears and pulled me away from my thought process. I looked at him to see he was grinning at me. I blushed and laughed.

"Oh nothing just thinking around…" I said to him. He nodded as he watched the kids move out of their classes and running to their parents. Jacob and I were standing in front of Rosie's school waiting for her to pop up.

"So I was thinking we should have a picnic or something this Friday and I was thinking we could go to the movies or something after that since we both have day offs on that day." Jake suggested. Jacob and I didn't always have time to hang out during the week so I guess weekends were really the only time we could spend time together.

"Oh that would be great!" I exclaimed but then realized I couldn't. "But I can't…" I said sadly.

"Why? You're bailing out on me? I thought you loved me." He said with hurtful look but I knew he was just playing around.

I laughed.

"Of course I do, it's nothing like that. It's just…well Rosie's recital is on that day and I can't miss it." I said to him.

"Oh Rosie's recital is on that day?" He asked for confirmation. I nodded. "That's awesome. I'll be there." He stated.

"Oh Jake, you don't have to-"

"Stop it!" He exclaimed cupping my face in his hands forcing me to stare into his eyes. "I'll be there."

I blushed as I stared into his dark brown eyes. I almost got lost in them. I nodded.

"Let's hope so. Remember the last times you've promised me things?" I reminded him of the times he was late for our date and he wasn't the for my grandmother's funeral. He sighed.

"I'm sorry and I promise it won't happen again." He said truthfully. I was convinced so I nodded. "And besides, I'm sure I won't be busy this time." He said with a sigh. I gave him a sympathetic look.

"Look Jake, don't be so negative. You won't lose it, I'm absolutely positive of that." I assured him. It wasn't a complete lie, I really meant it.

"That's why I love you so much." He said. I smiled as he bent down for a kiss but was stopped by the sound of Rosie's voice coming our way.

"Mommy!" she called. I turned my head to stare at her and grinning widely as I left Jake in the kissing position.

"Hey there baby girl!" I retorted to my daughter as she came running to my arms.

"Uncle Jake!" She said giving Jake's neck a hug whilst in my arms. He sniggered.

"Hey squirt!"

"Ready to go?" I asked her. She nodded enthusiastically. I laughed. "Come on," I said as we headed over to Jacob's car.

After tying Rosie's seatbelt tightly and giving her a kiss on the cheek. I went over to the passenger seat where next to Jacob, whom was inserting the key in the ignition and started the car and we were on the road.

"Uncle Jake?" Rosie asked.

"Yes little squirt?" He asked. She giggled.

"Are you going to my play?" She asked in anticipation.

"Of course I'm going captriss, I wouldn't miss you're wonderful play," He said. Rosie gasped and squealed.

"You promise?"

"I promise." He assured. She grinned widely. I smiled at the pair. It was so cute Jacob and Rosie got along so much, I was half expecting them to be at each other's heads at the beginning of our relationship.

"So how was your day baby?" I asked my daughter as I applied some lip gloss on.

"My day was really good mommy. Guess what?" She asked enthusiastically. I giggled at my jolly child.

"What?" Jake and I asked in sync. I smiled.

"I have a boyfriend!" She exclaimed casually. Jacob and I laughed.

"You're so cute." I said with a giggle then I realized what she said. Both Jacob and I's eyes widened and I glared back at her and she giggled.

"I'm sorry what did you say Rosie?" I asked her.

"I have a boyfriend," She repeated. "He's name is Cooper, he is in my class and he gave me his crayons and asking if I would be his girlfriend so I said yes!" She said.

I couldn't believe my four year old daughter Rosie had a boyfriend even if she wouldn't know what love was.

"Look baby, you're too young to have a boyfriend." I said to her. She pouted and crossed her arms.

"But mommy," She groaned.

"No no Rosie, no buts! You're too young to have a boyfriend and that's final." I stated. Jacob just chuckled at our little argument.

It was a little unnatural for a mother telling her toddler not to date. But what can I say? What if they get married under the playground tree house?

"That's not fair! I want to grow up!" She pouted.

"Oh come on kiddo, it's not that bad. Hey, maybe you can prove your mom wrong by getting engaged now that at to shut her up." He said. I narrowed my eyes at him and Rosie giggled.

"Jacob!" I shouted. He shrugged.

"I'm just saying it might be fun to have a son-in-law." I said. I rolled my eyes at him.

"Not funny Jacob." I said firmly. I couldn't believe he even convinced Rosie to get married and he even has the nerve to have an amused face. He chuckled but when he saw my angry face he stopped.

"Aww come on babe, I was just joking." He said.

We reached the house after ten minutes of driving on the road. I got out of the car and slammed the door shut. I went to Rosie's side and took her out of her seat and walked up to the house. Jacob followed our tail trying to save his on head.

"Ness, I'm sorry Ness. I was just messing around. You should lighten up." He said as we entered the house. I set Rosie on the ground and she began running up to her room totally oblivious on the conversation.

"Lighten up?" I questioned with my eyes blazed. He gave me a small nervous smile as he backed away as I took steps towards him. "Lighten up!"

"Soften up?" He asked with a nervous chuckle and a shrug.

"How do you expect me to lighten up if my daughter's even thinking of dating at four? Four!" I said with my voice rising up a little, "I'm watching my daughter grow up so fast Jake and I should be happy about it! She'll start her first year of 1st grade soon and then the next she'll graduate high school and soon enough college…" I said my voice lowing as I had tears welling up in my eyes. Jacob's amused expression was wiped straight off his face as he saw my sad one.

"Is that what you're worried about?" He asked. I nodded.

"I mean she's always been a good girl, she never lied…well there was this one time she manipulated me into getting her tutu but don't all toddlers do that but that's beside the point!" I exclaimed as tears began streaming off my cheek. "I can't bear the thought that my little girl might not be my little girl anymore in the next coming years…" I sobbed.

"Whoa, Ness, calm down I'm genuinely sorry for making fun of the situation. But I know Rosie would always be your little girl, she's not going anywhere, I know for sure." He said coming over to me and pulling me into a hug and carrying me bridal style over to the couch and sitting on it with me on his lap. While he was carrying me, I could see the outlining of his toned muscles in his white shirt.

God I know it isn't the time but he was extremely sexy! And not to mention his hard pecks and abs! Ugh I'm so lucky!

"You're not just saying that to make me feel better?" I asked him. He smiled.

"I'm sure you staring at my body cheered you up didn't it?" He asked. I blushed scarlet. Darn it Ness!

"You caught that?" I asked him. He snickered.

"If it makes you feel even better…I also love staring at your body." He muttered in my ear. His hot breath made me melt. Oh I loved him.

"Well sir why don't you show me how you love it by giving me some sugar?" I asked seductively as I motioned my index finger for him to lean in. He gave me a small sexy growl and leaned in to give me a kiss. It was so passionate and filled with urgency.

Jacob and I weren't at that state where our relationship was intimate yet. I mean we were intimate but we weren't intimate…intimate. I really hoped we'd get that chance soon. Wait what? Nessie! How could you?

"Nessie!" I heard Erica's ringing into the house. My eyes widened and I pulled away from Jake.

"Well well, look what we have here? I guess we're not the only couple with dirty minds lingering in their heads." Embry said as he applauded us. Jacob groaned and I blushed scarlet. This was so embarrassing!

"What are you guys doing here? And how did you even get here?" Jacob asked and frowned in anger.

"With the spare key…Duh!" exclaimed Erica as if it were obvious as she showed us the spare that was hidden in the pot plant.

"It was technically used for just Nessie and I and I thought I hid it in the best place," He said. Erica and Embry laughed.

"Well it looks like you didn't do a pretty good job in hiding it." She said.

"And besides, Erica and I thought you guys were hungry so we bought burgers!" He added pulling out a bag from the Greasy Sammy's.

"Uh…thanks but Erica you know Rosie and I don't eat sushi," I said to her. She rolled her eyes.

"Ugh! Fine! Since you're so picky! We got you and her sushi." She said holding a bag from the Chinese store downtown. I laughed.

"Thank you guys," Jacob said taking bags from them. "But you gotta go," He said pushing them away to the door.

"So you guys can make-out again?" Embry asked.

"So you can scar Rosie for life when she comes down the stairs?" Erica said. Jacob and I thought about for a minute before laughing.

"On second thought, why don't you join us?" Jacob asked.

… …

Erica and I were setting up the dinner table for dinner tonight as Rosie played with Sally and watched TV with Jacob and Embry.

"So have you told Jacob everything yet?" Erica asked as she placed the table knives and forks in front of the plates. I sighed.

"I haven't Erica,"

"Seriously Renesmee?" she asked. "You can't hide this from Jacob anymore Renesmee, you've got to tell him."

"Don't you think I've tried Erie? Jacob's losing his job. If I told him he'd freak and probably not trust me anymore. And what's worse is he might waltz over to wherever Riley's staying by tracking him down and who knows what he'll do to him."

"Renesmee, what would be worse is if you didn't tell him at all." She said. I sighed and nodded.

"Who should tell him what?" Jacob asked as he came into the room with Rosie's hand in his and Embry behind him.

"Nobody I hope." I said with a chuckle. I nudged Erica and she joined in the awkward laugher. Jacob frowned at our weird exchange.

"Hey the foods ready!" Erica said as the food heated up in the microwave. The boys and Erica cheered as they took their seats.

We placed the foods on the plate and said grace before digging in. Jake stared at the plate of sushi that stood in front of him with a frown as he stared at how miraculously small it was. I chuckled.

"You've never had sushi before have you?" I asked.

"Is it all raw?" He asked. I shook my head.

"Not the rice it's not."

"Oh come on guys, why don't we get to the burger eating?" Embry asked.

"We trying to impress you but if you don't want to try it we could always-"

"Oh no, no, it's okay, we can try anything." He said to me. I wasn't convinced. "Really,"

I nodded as we took the chopsticks that lay in front of us. Jacob didn't seem to get the position quite right as they didn't fit properly in his overly large hands. I giggled.

"Um here…" I said putting the sticks properly in his grasp. "Try holding this one like a pencil and this one goes under like this and you just move the top one that goes like…that." He chuckled and nodded.

"Okay, thanks." He said giving me a quick kiss on the cheek before digging into the food. He held the sushi in his grasp but not for so long as he began shaking off balance then the sushi fell but I was quick to catch it with my chopstick. He stared at me and I moved the meal towards his mouth waiting for him to open it. He granted it and began chewing it. I gnawed my lip and he nodded convinced of the food.

"Wow!" Erica commented after a long five minute of silence.

"What a cliché move there Jaker Ronnie," Embry said. Jacob mocked him and threw Embry with water. Erica and I gasped as we watched the boys begin a food fight around the dinner table.

Oh god! We have to mother three little kids now?!

… …

I woke up early in the morning as the sun shined through our curtains. I opened my eyes with a smile spread across my face.

"Good morning," I said to Jacob. I looked to his side of the bed only to find an empty space. I frowned and moved my gaze to the note on his nightstand.

Dear Renesmee,

Sorry, I got a call from work at 1am telling me to get over there fast

And I couldn't tell you because you look so darn cute in your sleep

So...I might be home before you even wake up but I wrote this letter

Just to tell you

P.S: Don't mind Sally's pee on the couch. I love you…

I sighed as I finished reading it.

"Well you're late," I said to myself as I threw it to the other side. I then fell back onto my pillow.

"Mommy, mommy wake up!" Rosie exclaimed as she came into the room and began jumping on the bed. "It's here! It's finally here!" She retorted excitedly.

Today was Friday which meant today was Rosie's play recital tonight. She was the opening act which meant she was earlier than the actual play where the fifth graders showcase whatever talent they had.

"I know baby girl I know!" I said happily. "Why don't we get you ready?" I said to her. She smiled widely but the grin fell when she looked around the room.

"Where's daddy?" She asked.

Okay I know what you're thinking. Whoa!

I was shocked the first time I heard it but now I just thought it was casual. Rosie decided to start calling Jacob 'daddy' instead of 'Uncle Jake' but the weird part of it is because she only called him daddy in secret when she's with either me or Erica. She hasn't pumped up the courage to call Jacob daddy in front of him.

"He's at work honey,"

"But if he's at work then why aren't you at work?" she asked in confusion.

"Well because Jacob has a special kind of work."

"A cop!" she answered for me. I nodded.

"Which is why he works everyday that's why it's more special than mine." I said to her.

"Ooh! I want to be a cop!" She said and pretending to hold an air gun. I chuckled.

"Trust me sweetheart…you wouldn't want that kind of job." I said to her. She giggled. "Now let's get you ready shall we?" I asked her. She squealed and we spent the entire day getting ready for the recital.

… …

I stood nervously, clicking my fingers and tapping my feet as I watched the door of the closet room waiting for anyone to pop in and checking my phone now and then for any calls. Jacob should be here at any minute now. He can't be bailing out on me again. Why hasn't he returned my calls or even call me? It's been five hours and I'm extremely worried. The play was starting in the next 15 minutes!

"Hello Ms. Masen?" Ms. Brooks walked up to me. I nodded. "We just wanted to remind you that there's two minutes to places," She said. I nodded. "Are you okay? You look a little nervous."

"Oh don't worry about me. I'm not nervous at all. It's maybe just the jitters for Rosie," I said with a chuckle. She smiled. "Hey have you by any chance seen a really tall man, with tanned-skin and wearing a police uniform, preferably a scotched shirt and jeans?" I asked.

"No I'm sorry I haven't recalled seeing your boyfriend yet." She said with a small warm smile. Where do they even get the information from?!

I laughed awkwardly.

"Thank you," I said.

"Would you like to give your daughter luck before we start?" She asked. I nodded and we walked to where the kids were being prepared for in the costume room. I already caught Rosie looking all so beautiful in her little costume with wings and the designer just adjusting some edges. I gasped.

"Oh honey, you're so beautiful!" I said my voice cracking. Her glittery face turned to face me and a smile crept up her face. She looked exactly like Rex at that moment. She came running towards me and I pulled her into a hug.

"Mommy,"

"Are you excited?" I asked her. She nodded slightly. "Are you nervous?" I asked. She nodded fast. "Well don't be because I know you'll do just great." I said kissing her cheek. She smiled.

"Where's Uncle Jake?" She asked.

"Uh…he'll be here soon. I'm sure he's out there." I smiled at her. She nodded.

"Okay they're ready in ten!" The camera man said. I took that as my cue to leave so I placed her to the ground.

"Okay, I'll be standing at the middle watching you dance amazingly. Now you go there and break a leg." I encouraged my daughter. Her eyes widened.

"Mommy, how could you say that? I don't want to break my leg," She said with a small pout as I watched her eyes glisten. Oh god she was about to cry.

"No sweetie I meant, do great I didn't mean it in…never mind do great. I love you." I said giving her one last hug before heading to the door. I was stunned when I felt two petite arms wrap my right leg.

"Love you too mommy." Rosie said. I smiled and released a small teardrop. She ran back to her designer as she walked her over to the stage. Jacob was right; she would always be my baby girl…

… …

I found my way out of the backroom to where all the guests were seated. I found my seat and took it. I searched through my phone to see if I got any messages from Jake but I saw nothing. I sighed as I just settled on staring at his picture for his Caller ID instead. I was greeted by one of the parents.

"What a handsome husband you have," The man sitting right next to me. I looked up at him.

"Oh no it's-"

"You guys look so cute together. He looks like he really loves you in that picture." He said with a smile as he nudged me.

"Yeah…" I said.

"I'm sure you have one hell of a gorgeous baby huh." He said. I nodded. "I wish my husband loved like he does," He said with an eye roll.

Oh he was gay? Well that explains the leg crossing and random interest on how handsome my 'husband' was…

"Jerry, shush, I'm sorry I didn't get you an anniversary present now stop being a weirdo and leave the girl alone." The man sitting right next to him said. Jerry rolled his eyes.

"Fine but from here on out, you're not getting anything tonight" He said. "It was nice meeting you," He said to me. I nodded.

"You too,"

Well that was the most awkward moment of the day…

I heard commotion coming from behind me.

"Sorry" Erica's voice reached my ears as she passed through people. "Coming through," She said walking through the guest lining. "Hey you keep your saucy hands away from that mister!" She exclaimed. I closed my eyes. Oh god! "Pardon me,"

She finally found the seat right next to me and she let out a dramatic sigh.

"People are so rude these days huh. The ugly fat guy just called me a sausage stealer. I mean who says that!" She said with an eye roll.

"And that's bad because?" I asked. She sighed.

"He threatened to castrate my boyfriend's dick and eat it. I mean that's just homo and rude." She said with a groan. "And besides, if he did that to Embry he'd be pretty surprised at what he sees. It might even be longer than a sausage size, because that I know…" She said flipping her hair to the side and day-dreaming.

"Omigosh, EW! Erica!" I said to her and began croaking. "This is a family event so please keep it PG! You don't want us to get kicked out like the last time we were at the movies,"

"Well sorry geez I mean. Who said they shouldn't read the summary of the movie. It clearly said rated 18 SNL, views digression is advised. Hello! There was bound to be a sex scene!" She said remembering the time we watched the Notebook. I rolled my eyes.

"You're an idiot."

"Anyway, did you know they give out free bagels and coffee on the way in?!" She exclaimed. "Plus you get to keep the mug." She said in delight as she closed her eyes. "Ooh, I need to get that!"

She then got up from her seat and walked through her way out –with causing commotion– and I just laughed. Erica was just…wow!

"Erica is quite the weirdo huh?" I heard the voice I did not expect on hearing today. My eyes widened. I looked my other way to see Riley sitting right next to me with a grin on his face. My breathing began to hitch.

"Wha-what are you doing here?" I stuttered. He shrugged.

"Here to watch the recital of course!" He said with a snigger. He moved closer so he was centimeters from my lips, I moved my head away and I felt his hot breath on my ear. "Did you know I'm a real fan of Peter Pan?" He asked. I gulped. "Surprising how that rhymed." He laughed.

I couldn't believe this! Riley Biers was here! Sitting right next to me! To be honest, I was scared was an understatement.

"You shouldn't be here." I whispered.

"And why not?" he asked with a sly smile. "I read on the board it said 'Please feel free to enjoy the show' and here I am enjoying the show."

"The show hasn't even started," I murmured. He laughed and leaned in closer to my ear.

"Oh I think it has." He said slowly. I gulped. I knew he wasn't talking about the show now. "I heard what happened to your little boyfriend's job. Shame, I really hope he's coping."

"It was you wasn't it?" I asked but it was more of a statement rather than a question.

"You know me all too well cheesecake." He said flashing a grin. I rolled my eyes.

"Why did you do that?" I asked him.

"Oh, I don't think you got the message last time. I'll take everything and anything he loves away from him."

"If he's still with me…" I completed. He nodded. "I think I got the message quite clear."

The show started as the lady came up to the podium and everyone applauded.

"Good…" He said and taking a bite from his bagel as he watched the woman speak. "Want a piece? It's delicious if you take a chance?" He said offering it to me. I didn't answer and he just shrugged and took a bite.

"Welcome welcome, welcome. To the eve of the Peter Pan recital showcase by our wonderful students of Saint Luke's!" The principal said clapping her hands. The crowd clapped in sync with her. "Now before we begin, I'd like to thank all the chorographers who made the dancing and the music instructors, thank you to the lightings and camera crew for creating the wonderful stage and I'd like to thank the parents who cancelled their series of busy schedules just to be here tonight to witness their lovely children perform. We've been planning this wonderful night for the past few months and now that it is finally here we'd like to make it last so…shall we begin?" She announced as she moved to the side and the curtains opened.

"Oh I love this part. It must be a privilege to watch your daughter in the play right?" He asked. I just nodded slightly.

"Yes it is."

"How old is she again like three? Four?"

"She's turning four next week," I whispered. What was in it to him anyway?

"She's seems so sweet. Wouldn't been sweeter if she were either Demetri's baby?" He said. I frowned. What did he mean by that?

"Why would you say that?" I questioned. "What does Demetri have anything to do with all of this? Because all you've been saying is your working for him but I've never heard from. You can't just be undercover, what are you hiding?" I questioned. He looked hesitant. Yes! I got him!

"Well, look out Renesmee, I'm watching you. Demetri sent me to spy over you and there's nothing you can do about it. I'm just doing whatever he says and if that's forcing you to break things off with Jacob then that is what I'll do! He doesn't want you with him! That's how much he loves you!" He said anger blazing in his face.

No, no, something wasn't right with this situation. If Demetri wanted me then he would've gotten some balls and come up to me himself.

"I don't believe you," I said lowly. He gave me a small smile.

"Why don't you ask him yourself?" He said. As if on cue my phone rang and I saw the Caller ID as Unknown. "Oh that must be him right now. Why don't you answer it?" He suggested.

What if he was right about all of this? What if Demetri did want me? I knew he was crazy but I didn't know he was this crazy about me!

I had my finger lingering on the answer button…

"Oh and keep in mind. You should be aware what you're playing with. You're playing with fire and ice. So if Jacob so much as finds out about our little secret, I'm not going to sabotage his job again, I'm going to rip his head off…with my teeth!" Riley said into my ear. And I felt him shift away.

"Oh and don't forget to keep an eye out on your daughter, you might never know when she'll disappear out of your life…"

Riley scared the shit out of me. And when I found a reason to tell the cops he just had to do that. I looked at my phone to see that I had two miscalls from the same number. I sighed as I shakily pressed the call button and pressed my phone in my ear.

"He-hello?" I said.

"Renesmee what's up? I heard what happened to your Grandmother, I hope you're okay. I knew how much you loved her."

"What do you want from me?" I asked rhetorically. He should cut the crap.

"What do you mean Renesmee?" He asked.

"Why-why are you coming after me?" I asked shakily.

"Are you crazy? I'm not after you! I left all that jazz back in high school." He said with a chuckle. "I'm so over you Renesmee, I'm currently engaged to Natalie Josephson,"

"Natalie, you're engaged to Natalie?" I asked him.

"Yeah, I know right, turns out she had a super huge crush on me back in the day that's why she hated you." He said with a laugh. I moved the phone slightly away from my ear.

I just got the answer I needed. Demetri wasn't after me, Riley was! Riley was the one who wanted me! How could I not have seen this clearly. I knew Demetri wouldn't have it inside of him even if he is a sneaky conniving man.

"Renesmee are you there?"

"I'm sorry I've got to go." I stammered and hung up. I couldn't believe it.

I looked up to see Rosie's turn was up, but it was sadly ending when I had to watch her pretend to die.

"Please don't die Tink!" The kid who played Peter Pan. "I do believe it fairies!" Peter Pan cried out.

Riley was after me and I didn't even know. I mean I did know he was after me but I didn't know he was after me...after me if that even sounds right.

"Renesmee, this bagel and coffee is to die for!" Erica said coming into view. I looked at her with tears in my eyes. "What's wrong sweetpea?" She asked.

"I'm sorry, I've got to go." I said to her getting up from the chair and leaving the room.

When I got out of the school auditorium, I gasped out my breath and cried in hysterics.

"Renesmee?" I heard Jacob's voice ring into my ear. I look to the side to see him standing with his hands in his pockets. I sniffled.

"Oh, only now you show up!" I seethed through the tears. "I suppose you were rescuing a cat stuck from a tree." I said sarcastically.

"Look Renesmee I'm sorry, I was caught up at work-"

"Oh sure! The same excuse all the time well you know what! I don't care Jake! I shouldn't be the one who you should be apologizing to," I said with an eye roll. And as if on cue, Rosie came straight through the door and ran up to me.

"Momma, did you see me out there?" She exclaimed. I quickly wiped my tears and nodded.

"Yes honey I did, you were great." I said hugging her tightly. It was so great seeing and feeling her in my arms.

"Mom why you crying?" She asked in concern.

"Because you were so good," I said to her. She giggled then she moved her gaze to where Jake was standing.

"How was I Uncle Jake? I didn't see you." She said.

"That's because I wasn't there, but I'm sure you were great." He said. She pouted her bottom lip and her expression turned sad. "I bought you something just to say I'm sorry," He said and pulling a bunny behind him with a 'great show' card written in front of it. Rosie gasped and I just rolled my eyes.

"Thanks Uncle Jake, you're forgiven." She replied as she grabbed it from him. She then stomped her foot onto his foot and punched him in the shin. "For now," she whispered. I smiled slightly. That's my girl.

"Rosie you shouldn't have done that no matter how much he deserves it." I said glaring back at him.

"Sorry mommy," She said with a small smile and narrowed her eyes at Jake.

"Okay, why don't you head to the car and I'll meet you there so we can go to Grandma's house." I told my daughter. She nodded and began running to the car.

"Come on babe you don't have to do that-"

"Oh yeah? Watch me!" I shouted as I began walking away.

"Wait Ness wait!" He called.

"You know you've got the nerve to just waltz over here and hand Rosie a bunny and she'll 'magically' just forgive you." I said to him. "I can't believe you promised me and her that you'd be here tonight but what I'm really pissed at is why you didn't have the desency to even text...or return my calls."

"Renesmee, their was a burgulary at the bank today and I couldn't miss up that opportunity-"

"Look Jake, I get that you're trying to save your ass for your job, I get that. But...I sacrificed a lot to be with you and you couldn't even do the same. I mean, I don't want you to lose your job but..." I cried. "You may have people in need out there but you're missing the biggest case of all. Me. I need you Jacob! I fucking need you! I love you with all my heart but what you've been showing me lately doesn't show your love for me!"

"This is a load of bullshit Renesmee! I can't believe you're justifying my love for you well! If I didn't love you, would I quit my job? Huh, would I just resign in order to be here tonight? Would I walk into a jewelry shop and ask for prices for engagement rings? Because I did that! I want to marry you Ness!" He shouted at me. My eyes widened slightly. What?

"You-you quit your job?" I asked shakily.

"Yeah I did! I quit because I love you so damn much! I was losing it anyway so what was the point."

"I can't believe you'd do that for me Jake, you shouldn't have done that. You didn't deserve what happened and you certainly don't deserve me!" I exclaimed.

"Wait what?" He questioned.

"I have been wanting to tell you this but I couldn't find the correct time. I was just afraid of losing you and afraid you'd get hurt..." I sobbed.

"Tell me what?!" He questioned as we reached my car. I looked at the car and noticed something different about it. It wasn't there.

"What did you want to tell me Ness?" He said now extremely curious.

"Where-where's Rosie?" I asked Jacob. Jacob followed my gaze. "Where's Rosie?!" I asked frantically.

"Rosie!" I exclaimed as I searched around. "Rosemaree," I cried.

Nobody answered.

My daughter was missing!

Rosie was kidnapped!
