Feelings of Betrayal: First Half

Epilogue- Darkness Arises

"Sonic...I can't believe it...Eggman finally did it...he finally killed him..." Tails was in disbelief at what just happened. His best friend had just lost his life protecting him. It was an unbelievable event.

"YES! AT LAST, SONIC IS GONE! I might have a chance conquering all of Mobius! YES! YESSS!" Eggman cheered.

"Eggman...How COULD you?! I know you've had an intense rivalry with Sonic, but...you SHOT HIM TO DEATH WITH A LASER?! This...This is just too much..." Tails broke down into a massive amount of sobbing, moreso than ever before.

"T-Tails, calm down." Amy said softly, about to cry as well. "I'm sure there's some way we can bring Sonic back, there's gotta be a-"

"AMY, JUST SHUT UP!" Tails snapped at Amy, with tears flowing out his eyes. "Can't you see?! Sonic's been shot through the gut with a laser! This whole thing seems kinda familiar, but I don't think he can be brought back! No pulse, no breath, and no movement! I'm pretty sure...he's gone forever..."

"Okay, I've had about enough of your little meltdowns, you...you...spiny sobbing pests! Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going back to my laboratory to start my plan to take over the world!" And with that, Eggman left for his lab, showing no emotion towards Sonic's demise.

Everyone who was watching, from Knuckles, to Rouge, then left the scene, with tears in their eyes. They were all devastated by Sonic's demise. The only one who didn't shed a tear, was Shadow, who was shocked at the blue blur's eternal stopping.

"There's no way...that's impossible...Eggman killed another one... that's unbelievable..." Shadow said, traumatized, before he started walking off.

Tails was one of the last ones left at the scene, besides Amy and the deceased Sonic.

"Tails...if you could please just listen to me for a second..." Amy said as she slowly walked back over to the crying kitsune, attempting to not disturb him.

"Amy, just leave me alone. I don't want to be bothered...I should probably get going too..." Tails walked off, carrying Sonic in his arms.

"Wow...I've never seen Tails so miserable in my life..."

"Amy, I think it's best to leave him alone for a while. He needs some time for himself." Shadow said, still slightly shocked since Sonic's slaughtering.

"I understand..." Amy said, and the two of them walked away, leaving Tails abandoned in his house with Sonic's corpse.

"Sonic..." Tails said as he laid the corpse down on a table. "...I promise I'll find a way to bring you back, big bro. I'll bring you back at whatever the cost, even if it takes the rest of our lives..." However, then an idea sparked in his mind. One that he hadn't thought of before. One that should've been obvious from the start.

"What if I used the Chaos Emeralds to revive him?!" Tails shouted aloud. "That has to work! Sonic's used the Emeralds so many times, they've probably got a bit of his life energy in them! It worked when Sonic brought me back all those months ago, so it should work now! But, the question remains...where are the Chaos Emeralds? Nobody I know has any of them. Eh, whatever. Like I said, I'll do anything to help my pal, Sonic." And, with that, Tails prepared to leave on a journey to find the Chaos Emeralds.

Meanwhile, at Eggman's Lair...

"I can't believe it...my finest assistant turned out to be a fraud, and then, I killed him...I really am just a low-down, dirty fool..." Eggman whimpered. Just like everyone else, he was depressed by the murdering of his nemesis. "I didn't mean to kill him... but either way, I must move on. I need to accomplish my goal of taking over the world, with or without Sonic. I need to keep building upgrades so my Destructicannon can eliminate the rest of those heroes, even if it takes the rest of my life..." However, then an idea sparked in his enormous mind. An idea he hadn't thought of before. One that should've been obvious for someone with his large IQ.

"What if I used the Emeralds to power it up?!" Eggman thought aloud. "That would have to work! The emeralds have so much energy, they could power a planet! But, the question remains...where are the Chaos Emeralds? Nobody I know has any of them. Eh, whatever. Like I said, I'll do whatever it takes to take over the world." And with that, Eggman also prepared to go after the Chaos Emeralds.
