Chapter 1 (Queen Hiromi's Downfall)

There was one thing I didn't understand during my life in the royal family I was born in. Not the secrecy we had to be in, away from the rest of civilization... But, it was my mother, in other words, the Queen's attitude towards me during the years. The Queen before was a very nice, humble lady… or so we thought because she acted very well as a nice person in front of unknown people. But, from what I've been hearing, the Queen was an egocentric, narcissistic, psychopathic, and greedy mess when no one was looking.
Her attitude towards me is what worried my father the most, though. When I was born, she thought she was expecting a girl, but… No. A boy, which was not in her expectations. What she wanted was a girl, just to live her life through her child and give the girl what she could not have in her childhood because the past King and Queen were very strict with her. My father was quite the contrary, he loved every moment when he held me in his arms as an infant. And he was looking forward to have her hold me in her arms for the first time... But...

"Get him away from me!" The Queen snapped, she did not want to hold me and just turned her gaze away. The woman started to cry silently due to her frustration of not having a female.
"Wh-What? Hiromi…? What's the matter? …..It's your son, don't you want to at least hold your child?" My father asked her during this tense moment. Obviously, I didn't understand what was going on because I was a baby… Her tone was just angry and… cruel.
"I SAID. Get. Him. Away from me, damn it! ...Just leave me alone for a while!" The Queen continued to snap at her husband. She rejected her own child for not being a little girl she wanted for such a long time, there was no way to talk to this woman when she was this upset.
I was taken away by the servants in the castle, unable to stop wailing and crying. My father had just commanded the servants to give the two rulers a moment alone to speak.
"Hiromi… look at me and tell me… what's the matter…? Why do you reject your child like this?"

The woman didn't want to speak… So, she just turned away and just continued to cry her frustration out. He knew she always wanted a girl but that was no excuse to treat her son like this. It's not his fault. Hiromi after minutes of silence, she sighed heavily and glanced at her husband, narrowing her eyes for a moment before turning her head away and falling asleep with nothing else to say.
"You weren't like this… what's wrong now…?" The man asked with worry in his eyes as he watched her sleep.

Time passed. I was around my teenage years. 17. I grew to be a kind, humble boy, thanks to my loving father being present all the time… He taught me about how the kingdom was, and who was next to be king, which was me. He taught me nice things, such as helping people in need. But, that didn't mean everything was all sunshine and rainbows for me. My mother has lost it. ...Instead of seeing me as a boy, she sees me as a girl and treats me like her "Princess". I was never allowed to cut my hair, wear what I wished, nothing. I couldn't say no to her nor speak my mind to her. It was just not easy, so in order to not make her angry I just stayed in complete silence and complied with her orders. There were times I was internally afraid of spending time with her... because knowing my mother, she would probably drag me into her delusional fantasies of me being a girl. There were these lessons that she forced me to do against my will, but I could not speak against her at all, because if I did, this woman... would just become an angry, screeching mess... it was just frightening to see. The lessons were how I shall behave, my walking posture, etc. ...I'd rather not mention what she did to punish me... Ugh...

My father was observing this concerning behavior all the time. It did worry him sick that his wife had become a monster to me rather than a loving mother when all this time he thought that she was going to give me a chance. The Queen in his eyes has subjected Nagisa into complete silence with her abusive attitude. What was worse was that some of the servants agreed with her methods. Are they crazy?! How can they also subject to this cruel treatment by his wife?! He wondered. He just couldn't believe it all.

"THIS has to stop!" He mumbled to himself as he made his way to the throne room.

"That's enough, Hiromi!" My father decided to try and put a stop to Hiromi's behavior. "What the hell are you doing? Subjecting our son into silence with your rotten attitude? What has gotten into you?!"
"It's the only way to make him obey me! And you, you should be with me on THIS, Kaito! I can't do this alone!" The Queen responded as she now crossed her legs, sitting on the large throne and sipping a glass of champagne.
"What?! Are you out of your mind?! He's not a puppet! He's a human being, for the love of God, Hiromi! Stop this behavior at once, you're giving him a horrible example! Not to mention, he's afraid of you, it's NO WONDER he tries to avoid you!" The King was clearly concerned for my shy and avoidant behavior because of my mother's intimidating behavior towards me.

Outside I was looking at the beautiful sky quietly, the sun was setting. I just wanted to stay away from my mother's sight for a bit. At least not hear her loud voice which gave me a bit of a headache. I already knew she and my dad were arguing. I didn't like to hear them like this, but I know my father was worried sick about me and wanted her to stop her vile behavior. A sigh escaped from my lips while watching a cloud.
"When is she going to stop this…? This is just… overwhelming for me…" I whispered to myself before darting my eyes down for a moment. Minutes passed, a noise of a footstep was heard, I gasped and looked over my shoulder. Nothing. What the…? Now I'm hearing things? I wondered. There was silence for another minute, until...
"Don't move a muscle, Your Highness…" A man's voice commanded. A gasp escaped from my lips as I turned around to look who was there once again. Hooded people. But these were known as traders, criminals of a high rank that sold slaves illegally to fulfill their immense greed. "You'd make us rich indeed… with your rank... Now, come with us. Don't do anything stupid and no one gets hurt, you hear?" The man chuckled while the other man snuck behind me and grabbed my arms, firmly holding them against my back. I gulped. I was too nervous and scared to even talk back or call for help to the guards of the castle. I just looked down and nodded quietly. The men while keeping me firmly held by the arms behind my back looked at each other.
"What the…? That was way easier than expected…" One said, surprised that I had obeyed with no resistance.
"Hey now, look on the bright side. He just obeyed us and he didn't even call for help. This makes our job of destroying his mind way easier…"
Both men chuckled as they now opened the cage behind the carrier. I was pushed inside and the door was locked afterwards. "I hope you enjoy a nice nap, Prince… Because this will be the last day you'll be able to sleep… Peacefully."
