"Talking"
'Thinking'

-1:25 PM (Kinshiki Middle School, Shizuoka-ku, Tokyo)-

The day had just begun; a cool, cloudy day whose falling brown leaves signified the beginning of Autumn. Within a packed and busy classroom on the uppermost floor, a few female students chatted away happily with one another. One of them, in particular, was distinct from the rest, being that she was slightly taller than her peers, with her being most recognizable by her long black hair which was tied into a spiky ponytail.

"Yaoyorozu-san! We heard you've made it into U.A.!" One of the female students exclaimed as she ran over.

Indeed, Momo Yaoyoruzu, the Student Council President of Kinshiki Middle School, had, via means of recommendations detailing her excellent academic results and contribution to overall school life, been invited to partake in the Hero Course of U.A. Highschool.

"Well, the news does travel fast…" Momo commented as she nervously scratched the back of her head, "I did get invited to U.A., but I'm sure at least someone else got accepted…?"

"Believe it or not, someone else did get accepted," Another student continued, "Although… Probably not someone you'd expect…"

"Hmm? Let's see… Is it, Hanazawa-san? She's the Head of the Debate Team and one of the highest overall achievers!" Momo determined, "Her quirk is rather useful too, with it being able to project across large surface areas…"

"Nope, not her," The same student continued.

"Really? Well… I assume it's someone good at sports?" Momo asked, "Is it Sekizawa-san? He's always been good at many sports, and has even represented Japan in an under-21 Tennis Open!"

"Believe it or not…" The first student began to say, "It's not him either… It's Tachibana-san."

"Tachibana-san…?" Momo mumbled, slowly tilting her head towards the corner of the classroom to stare at the slightly isolated male student in the corner of the room, one who had slightly messy long black hair. "Ishiro?"

"The very same…" The second student continued, "It sure wasn't what I expected… Does he even have a quirk?"

"He probably does, I doubt he'd have been able to apply otherwise…" The first student stated.

"We really shouldn't judge anyone for how they look… That wouldn't be too fair of us…" Momo replied, turning her head back from the student in the corner of the room, "Some of his writings are nothing less than brilliant."

"And some were nothing less than bizarre…" The student deadpanned as Momo stood up.

"Regardless of which, we should treat him like how we would anyone else. Don't let it get twisted, he has been our classmate for three years at this point." Momo asserted as she began to walk around to collect student tags as the class was due to graduate in a few days, her mind still lingering on Ishiro being accepted into U.A.

'Of all people to be accepted to U.A., I didn't think it would be Tachibana-san…' Momo thought as she walked around each desk, receiving student tags from everyone she walked past. 'I mean… He does have the second or third highest scores in the final exam, but… He doesn't seem very sociable… I don't think I've ever seen him speak to anyone for more than five minutes… Maybe I can try talking to him, since we will be classmates, after all…'

Ishiro, for his part, was sitting silently at his desk, writing something in traditional kanji on an official-looking piece of paper using a fountain pen, as Momo eventually walked over, the sounds of each stroke of his pen becoming clearer to her as she approached.

"Tachibana-san?" Momo asked, stepping forward as Ishiro slowly looked up at her, "We need to hand in our student tags today, may I take yours?"

"Very well," Ishiro stated plainly, reaching into his bag and withdrawing his student tag, before passing it to her.

"Thank you," Momo replied, looking over at the piece of paper Ishiro was writing on. "Your handwriting is rather neat, Tachibana-san. Is it an art piece? We don't see traditional Japanese being written these days."

"It's an executor's deed. My father has left his inheritance to my younger siblings, as such, I am to execute it and ensure all they are entitled to, is given to them without partiality," Ishiro stated, still writing as he did so, before soon signing his name and folding up the paper.

"Ah, I… I'm sorry for your loss, I didn't know…" Momo mumbled, turning her head in small amounts of shame as she held back from asking about his admittance into U.A.

"It's alright, I didn't expect to tell anyone either way," Ishiro assured as his phone began to ring. "Do excuse me for a moment."

"Right… Well…" Momo began to say, trying her best to do anything to alleviate the awkward situation as Ishiro reached for his phone, "I know there's not much time in the school year left, but do let me know if there's anything you need, alright? As student council president and class representative, I'll do all I can to help."

Momo began to walk away upon seeing Ishiro nodding gently, continuing onto the next desk as Ishiro's voice, whilst fading slightly, could roughly be heard as he spoke on the phone.

"I see… Very well, I'll be there…" Ishiro stated, his voice almost a whisper as he placed his phone in his pocket and stood up, having left the classroom by the time Momo turned back to look at him.

"Tachibana-san…" Momo mumbled to herself, wondering just how she could even attempt to approach him to strike up a conversation.

-Half an Hour Later (JR Toyko General Hospital, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo)-

'Phew… The train ride here sure was… Packed…' Ishiro thought as he walked into the hospital and to the counter. "I'm here to visit room… Let's see… Room 4B, North Tower. I understand it is currently visiting hours?"

The nurse at the counter nodded, before responding. "Indeed. As we speak, the hospital has just entered visiting hours. You may visit. Please put your phone and any other article that may cause noise disturbances into this box."

Ishiro nodded, placing his phone in the box next to the counter before looking up at the nurse at the counter once again.

"Thank you," Ishiro replied, nodding again slightly as to allow the visitor's pass to be placed around his neck before he turned to leave.

"You're a good son, to visit your mother exactly right when you can to spend as much time with her as possible, Ishiro…" The nurse began to say, "She must appreciate you dearly."

"I hope so," Ishiro stated, walking forwards before stepping into the elevator in front of him and going up to the fourth floor, having tied his hair into a short ponytail as he stepped out of the elevator and towards Room 4B.

He would find the room moments later, finding the lights dimmed and the blinds closed as he knocked on the door gently before slowly stepping inside, finding his mother silently lying on the bed, staring up into the ceiling before her gaze soon turned towards Ishiro.

"Kaa-san, I have arrived…" Ishiro mumbled, removing his coat as he soon took a seat next to the hospital bed, as he softly smiled at his mother, "I'm sorry if I'm late, I was held up at school…"
"... Shiro…" His mother barely got out, her voice cracking through every syllable of the word, causing Ishiro's heart to shatter more and more.

Ishiro sighed softly, smiling a little as he turned towards her and placed a hand on hers, gently stroking it as he did.

"I know, kaa-san… I know…" Ishiro whispered, "I'm not an amazing older brother… But I'm doing my best. Just like you've requested, I've agreed to have them sent off to Europe. They'll be staying with Aunt Katsura."

Ishiro's mother seemed to sigh, seemingly doing her best to nod as she slowly looked up at her eldest son once again, tears slowly streaming down her face as she did so.

"I… I did my best, right, kaa-san?" Ishiro asked, his voice remaining monotone as he sighed softly to himself, doing his best to remain mostly expressionless. "... I don't think I can ever live up to your legacy, kaa-san… I'm no teacher, I'm not helpful, I'm not as good a person as you are… I just want you to be proud of me…"

-Two Hours Later-

"I'll be back tomorrow, kaa-san… I promise…" Ishiro stated, standing up before bowing and walking out of the room soon after, encountering the nurse at the counter on the way out.

"Ishiro? Wow, you've been here for that long, huh?" The nurse complimented, smiling reassuringly towards Ishiro's cold, emotionless glance.

"How long left?" Ishiro asked.

"Eh? What are you talking about?" The nurse asked back, surprised by Ishiro's sudden question.

"... How long does she have left…?" Ishiro mumbled, "Someone with Alzheimer's Disease, especially its final-stage variation… You might not want to tell me, or, well, kaa-san may have told you not to tell me, but…"

"Well… I'm not forbidden from telling you, it's just, well…" The nurse continued, "I never expected someone to ever ask such a question… It's a difficult question with an even more difficult answer, you know?"

"I understand…" Ishiro replied, sighing softly as he looked around nervously, "How long more does she have left?"

"By her physician's best approximation… Four days left," The nurse began to say, sighing in response to Ishiro's sigh, "I'm sorry, Ishiro. We've done our best."

"... I understand… I understand…" Ishiro mumbled after a long period of silence, not sure of what else to say as he soon arrived back at the counter on the ground floor to retrieve his phone, still doing his best not to show any emotion whatsoever. "Hmm…? What's this…?"

Ishiro powered on his phone, noticing the abundance of notifications at the top-left corner of his screen as he hastily moved to enter the passcode to his phone, before noticing what had been sent to him.

"Hmm…? Yaoyoruzu-san? Wonder why she would've called…" Ishiro mumbled, the revelation from earlier still weighing heavily on his mind as he hesitated for a moment, eventually finding the calmness to dial up Momo's number before placing the phone next to his ear.

"Hello? Tachibana-san?" Momo's voice came from the other end, a slight hint of surprise laced within it as if she couldn't believe that Ishiro would even consider calling her back.

"Is something the matter?" Ishiro asked back, speaking in his usual monotone voice despite the near shattering of his emotionless facade, "You've called me a good seven times."

"Oh, my apologies, Tachibana-san… I just, couldn't help but realize that you've left the letter you were writing earlier on your desk when you left…" Momo commented, prompting Ishiro to frantically search through his bag, only to come up short after a few minutes. "Hello? You still there?"

"I am, I am…" Ishiro stated, facepalming as he soon walked over to the station and checked his watch, "Right… Can I go get it from you this evening? It's rather important…"

"Of course, where would you like to meet?" Momo asked once again, her voice much more jovial as the cheers of many other girls could be heard in the background. "No, no I don't!" She yelled in response to some remarks regarding her potentially having a boyfriend.

"Would Shizuoka Station at about… Eight-thirty work for you? There are barely any trains coming into Shinjuku Prefecture at this time, so that would be the only time I can reasonably make it there," Ishiro explained as he walked around the station and looked at each panel. "Platform 3."

"That's fine with me, I'll be there, Tachibana-san…" Momo assured, whispering as if she didn't want anyone to hear her mention any names, only for her next statement to exemplify that it did not work. "No! We're not dating! I wouldn't even speak to him- I… I've got a bit of a situation here… See you later, Tachibana-san!"

Ishiro hung up the call, staring at his phone for a moment as he sat on the bench by a platform alone, awaiting the arrival of his train, he shed a few silent tears.

-9:12 PM (Platform 3, Shizuoka Station, Shizuoka-ku, Tokyo)-

"Where... Is she...?" Ishiro mumbled, looking around the mostly empty platform as he stepped around the place, tightening the scarf around his neck slightly after zipping up his sweater due to the gradually lowering temperature that came with the nights in Japan.

Ishiro sighed, looking around as he continued to try and remain emotionless, despite the lack of people around him. Ishiro looked up into the night sky above, still taking steps here and there as he soon arrived at the platform just before the tracks, a literal inch away as he stared at the tracks, his eyes wandering up to the platform opposite the one he was on before his gaze travelled and fixated upon the lights of an oncoming train.

'What would I have to tell Ichiro and Katsumi...?' Ishiro thought to himself, his eyes slowly closing as tears escaped their edges despite his best attempts to keep everything together. 'Damn it... I... I... What do I tell them...?'

Ishiro couldn't help but start tearing up at this point, his mind soon replaying the revelation of "four days left", as he hovered his right foot over the tracks despite the sounds of the train getting closer and closer.

"I... I've failed... I... Sorry, tou-san..." Ishiro mumbled, "... See you soon..."

As the train grew ever closer, a faint voice in the distance could be heard, accompanied by several fast footsteps, causing Ishiro to violently jerk his body back and turn towards the source of the voice, wiping his tears as his breathing, once hastened, slowly returned to its normal frequency.

"Sorry I'm late, Tachibana-san..." Momo mumbled, breathing heavily as if she had been running for a long time, "I... Huff... Limo got a flat tire halfway here... I had to run the remainder of the way here..."

Unsure of how to respond to this revelation, Ishiro nodded, subtly stepping away from the edge of the platform to try and avoid any questions regarding why he was standing at that exact spot.

"Umm... Sorry if this is, intrusive... But... Why were you standing at the edge of the platform...?" Momo asked inquisitively, despite her intentions being far from wanting to pry.

"Well... You see, Yaoyoruzu-san..." Ishiro began to say, his mind racing to find an excuse, 'Think, think, think,' Ishiro thought to himself, before beginning to speak once again. "Since you are a little late, I was wondering if you could've been on the next train, so I was looking to see when it was coming..."

"Really? That close?" Momo asked, her eyes narrowing slightly as her suspicions slowly flared, "You do realize that, if you had leaned in slightly closer, your head would have been taken clean off..."

"Understandable conclusion. I have poor eyesight, you see..." Ishiro began to say, making it all up as he went along, "Anyhow... I assume you've brought the executor's deed over?"

"I have, don't lose it again, or I'm keeping it next time," Momo stated, placing the letter gently in Ishiro's hands.

"Thank you, I'll keep that in mind-" Ishiro began to say, before noticing the envelope that now contained the statement he had written, "I... Did you put it inside this envelope...?"

"Well... I was thinking that letters of this sort are important... So I went out of my way to get a nice envelope to make sure it wouldn't get damaged easily," Momo replied thoughtfully with a soft smile, "So... Is the rumour I heard about you being accepted into U.A. true?"

"It is... I'd ask how you know about that, Yaoyorozu-san, but considering how many times I've been asked it already, I'm not surprised, news does seem to travel fast these days..." Ishiro explained, "Why'd you ask?"

"Well... No reason in particular... Just thought it'd be nice for you to know that we'll be classmates again," Momo replied with a smile.

"I... See... Alright, I'll keep that in mind," Ishiro responded, doing his best to form a soft smile but failing and giving up moments after, "Congratulations on your application being accepted."

"To you as well, Tachibana-san, to you as well..." Momo assured, watching as Ishiro soon turned his back on her and began to walk away. "You know... Ishiro... I know we don't speak often, but... If you need someone to talk to... You know who to call, alright?"

"I'll keep it in mind, but, I'm alright, I... I promise," Ishiro asserted, "I... Apologies, I haven't looked into it, but... What is your first name? And may I refer to you as such now and then...?"

"It's Momo, and don't worry, you've done nothing wrong," Momo reassured, smiling as Ishiro nodded and walked off into the darkness of the night.

Before he wandered too far, however, Ishiro turned around again. "It's rather dark out... Would you prefer for me to walk you back?"

"I-!" Momo stammered, surprised by the sudden offer as she looked around, before nodding her head. "Well... I... I... I would feel safer if you were to do so..."

"Very well..." Ishiro stated, walking back to her side as he did so, "Let's get you back quick, else I may be late for my train later."

"Thank you, Tachibana-san... Admittedly, my driver is arranged to pick me up here soon, but I'd prefer if you were to walk me home..." Momo admitted as she led the way back with Ishiro closely behind, "It makes me feel much safer..."

"You're welcome, it's the least I can do to repay you for bringing me the document I left..." Ishiro assured after a long bit of silence, his mind still thinking back to the revelations he had been faced with earlier.

"I see... If you don't mind me asking, Tachibana-san... Why were you at Shinjuku Prefecture?" Momo asked, her voice holding some semblance of curiosity. "Come to think about it... Doesn't that place have a lot of red-light districts?"

"So that's what you're getting at," Ishiro mumbled, sighing softly as he did so. "No, to scrub this misconception immediately, I was not there to visit a red-light district."

"Good... You are nowhere old enough to be there anyways, I, as student council president, will not stand for it," Momo asserted.

"You do realize you hold no authority over me outside of school? Or in school for that matter?" Ishiro questioned.

"It doesn't matter. My job is to set a good example, so I'll never let you or anyone else do such a thing," Momo stated as they continued walking along.

"Sure, sure... It's not going to last any longer than three days..." Ishiro stated in response, his tone giving the impression that he was not enjoying this conversation regarding what he was doing in Shinjuku.

"You got any hobbies?" Momo asked.

"None that you would enjoy," Ishiro stated plainly.

The two continued to walk along the path Momo had set out, the situation between them becoming increasingly awkward with the dynamic that, with every one of Momo's attempts to strike a conversation, Ishiro would strike it down before it was allowed to develop further.

"We're almost there..." Momo mumbled as the two arrived at a well-off neighbourhood. "Thank you very much for walking me home..."

"You're welcome," Ishiro assured, nodding as he walked alongside her in the cold, late night.

Without warning, Momo turned around, hugging Ishiro gently for a moment before letting go and smiling, as Ishiro stood there for a moment, unsure of how to respond to this as his cheeks would show the slightest, most unnoticeable tint of pink.

"What... Why did you do that?" Ishiro asked, slightly confused by the act.

"Well, it was my way of thanking you," Momo assured with a smile as she continued walking on, despite Ishiro's having fallen behind by a few steps. "Besides, from how you've been acting the whole night... You needed it."

"I... Well, I don't understand, but you're welcome?" Ishiro asked, walking Momo up to her front door before stopping and watching her knock on it.

"Good night, Tachibana-san, and thank you again..." Momo stated, watching as Ishiro disappeared back into the shadows.

-The Next Day (Nexus Fencing Club, Nerima City, Tokyo)-

"Touche," Ishiro stated, holding up his right index finger as he dropped the foil in his hand whilst sweat beat down his face, his other hand moving to remove the helmet he wore that so happened to feel a pound heavier today.

Ishiro stared ahead, holding his helmet in his hand as he looked up at the electronic scoreboard, his eyes blank and lacking much emotion as his coach walked over.

"10-2... You're not yourself today, Ishiro," The coach stated, removing his helmet as he looked over to Ishiro, "You doing alright, kid?"

"I'm alright... Let's start again..." Ishiro mumbled, moving to pick up his foil from the ground.

"You're not, Ishiro," The coach stated once again, his tone showing some semblance of concern. "You have rings around your eyes, you were much slower when the class were doing shuttle runs earlier... And your movements lack their usual snappiness."

"Just lacking a little bit of sleep," Ishiro assured, shaking his head as he put his helmet back on. "Now... Again."

-Two Hours Later-

"Get some rest, Ishiro... And don't be too hard on yourself," Ishiro's coach assured as the teenager packed up his uniform and shoved it in his locker before he got ready to leave with only his foil in hand. "You'll get back in form soon enough."

"Thanks, sir," Ishiro stated blankly, before stepping out of the hall and out of the training centre. "Maybe I should just head back to my apartment..."

Ishiro sighed, dragging himself towards Daisuke Station in hopes that he may be lucky enough to catch an early train.

"Let's hope this time, no one gives me any crap for taking a foil around... But, considering the last few times..." Ishiro mumbled, sighing as he rubbed his eyes and continued to the station. Once there, he would walk to the front counter. "A ticket to Shizuoka Station, please."

"Of course, one second..." The cashier stated as Ishiro handed her the appropriate amount of money, "You know, we see you here almost every day... Are you sure you don't want to get a rail pass? You save up to twenty percent in costs!"

"I'll give it some consideration..." Ishiro mumbled, not caring much about the conversation as he took his ticket before walking to the platform and boarding the train, falling asleep in his seat near immediately as he sat down.

-Two Hours Later (Musutafu City, Shizuoka-ku, Tokyo, Japan)-

"It was all my fault..." Ishiro mumbled, holding onto his foil tightly whilst getting off the train, his eyes still as weary as ever, as if he hadn't gained an extra minute of sleep whatsoever. "If only I was better... Kaa-san wouldn't be in the situation she is now..."

Walking along the streets for a moment, Ishiro would notice a bench next to a dark alleyway, and he quickly moved to sit down.

"Maybe some rest would do me well..." He mumbled, his mind still weighing heavily on the events of the past few days and the many regrets involved within them, as his vision slowly faded to black, until...

"Don't worry, I'm just highjacking your body," A crude, brutish voice stated as Ishiro's eyes suddenly opened once again and trailed towards the source of the voice, the dark alleyway. "It'll hurt for only about 45 seconds... Then it'll be all over."

'What the...?' Ishiro thought to himself, staring into the dark tunnel as he contemplated what he should do, before he stood up and dashed in, armed with only his foil. 'In any case... Let's hope my damn quirk decides to work this time...'

As Ishiro ventured into the tunnel, the voice would only continue.

"I'm saved. You're a real hero... I never thought he'd show up in this town..." The voice continued as Ishiro got closer and closer.

'I think I'm here...' Ishiro thought to himself, his grip over his foil tightening more than before he held up his phone and turned on the flashlight. '... Not what I expected...'

Ishiro stared ahead, watching as a large sludge-like entity with large eyes and strange teeth wrap around the body of a green-haired boy his age, as the sludge-like monster growled whilst the boy he wrapped around struggled.

"No point in trying that... I'm fluid, you see!" The monster stated gleefully, seemingly not even realizing Ishiro's presence.

Although the boy had his mouth plugged by some of the monster's disgusting sludge-like liquid, Ishiro could hear another voice.

"I'm dying? Am I going to die?" Came a voice, presumably the voice of the constrained boy, as the green-haired boy seemed to turn the gaze of his tear-filled eye towards Ishiro. "Someone help! I'm dying!"

'Right... How did I hear that...?' Ishiro thought to himself, shaking his head only to hear more thoughts from the boy. 'Am I going mad...?'

"Help me! Please!" The voice repeated, more desperate than before.

Ishiro slowly stepped forward, unsure of how he could help as his steps soon increased in pace into a dash before he swung his foil at one of the monster's teeth, managing to break it off and causing the sludge monster to halt its assault.

"Argh!" The monster growled, wincing as he unwillingly released the mouth of the green-haired boy and allowed him to take a breath, "Who?! Where are you?!"

Ishiro quickly ran off, his heart beating at a hundred miles per hour as he snapped back to his senses and fled the scene, only to soon hear a scream, this time from a voice much more heroic and righteous.

"Texas..." The voice began to say, as Ishiro's long black hair and hood were blown backwards by a sudden shockwave. "... Smash!"

Not wanting to find out what had caused the shockwave, nor wanting for him to be implicated in anything after the fact, Ishiro quickly ran out of the alleyway and back to the bench, tossing the foil down on the bench and panting heavily.

"Huff... Was that..." Ishiro panted, looking up in the air as a vague shape soared across it, one that was all too familiar to him. "All Might? Well... Maybe I should've stayed for a few more seconds..."

Ishiro continued to look up in the sky, as the figure soon vanished from sight.

-Half an Hour Later (Musutafu Central Avenue, Shizuoka-ku, Tokyo, Japan)-

After he had given his foil a thorough wash in the public bathroom, Ishiro slowly stepped out of it, only to be greeted by a large crowd, with the sounds of explosions going off there as well.

"This day just keeps getting weirder..." Ishiro mumbled, eventually finding himself unable to keep his curiosity in check as he slowly walked up to the front of the crowd to see what was going on, where he could once again hear many different voices as if several people were speaking to him at once.

"Why're the heroes just standing there?" One voice asked, "Seems the villain grabbed a middle schooler." Another stated.

Ishiro stared forward, watching in shock as the same sludge monster as earlier wreaked havoc across the streets, sending explosion after explosion around the place as he now held another boy in his captivity.

"What the hell is even going on...?" Ishiro mumbled to himself, too puzzled to really say or do anything as his grip over his foil once again tightened.

For now, Ishiro would do nothing, knowing that there was nothing he could really do unless it would involve him getting hurt badly, as he continued hearing the voice of the boy from earlier.

"It's all my fault All Might can't do anything!" The voice stated as Ishiro looked to his left, seeing the green-haired boy from earlier. "This guy can't be caught... We have to wait for someone with the right quirk to show up!"

Ishiro ground his teeth, the foil in his hand pointed forward as if he were poising himself to act immediately.

"I'm so sorry... Someone will come to save you soon!" The voice of the boy continued in Ishiro's head, "A hero's bound to come!"

Ishiro's grip over his foil's handle grew ever tighter, as he took a step forward, only for the green-haired boy to run straight at the sludge monster, completely flabbergasting Ishiro.

"Get back here, you fool!" Someone in the crowd yelled, snapping Ishiro back to his senses as the green-haired boy flung his bag at the monster, getting his attention.

"Sorry... You looked like you needed saving!" The voice of the green-haired boy yelled as he began to attempt to dig out the boy who had been held by the monster.

"Just a little longer... So stop getting in my way!" The monster growled, expanding its sludge-like mass to nearly consume both boys.

"Balestra..." Ishiro stated, dashing forwards and plunging his foil into the monster's right, grotesque eye, causing it to squirm in pain.

"You again?!" The monster growled, swinging its sludge-like arms around, only to not be able to find its target, as the green-haired boy stared on.

"I... Thank you, kind stranger..." He mumbled, seeing that Ishiro had now saved him twice, as the black-haired teenager ran off.

"That was stupid..." Ishiro grumbled, reprimanding himself as he now found himself without his foil, as he ran up to a nearby rooftop to see the aftermath, his curiosity once again getting the better of him.

"Detroit..." A familiar voice began to say once again, as a large shockwave shattered the windows of many buildings in the area, as the clear sky gave way to rain, "... Smash!"

-On the Rooftop, Ten Minutes Later-

"I see... Damn it, I missed a chance to see All Might again..." Ishiro stated, disappointed that his action had cost him yet another opportunity.

Ishiro stared down at the scene, with the villain's body now scattered into many shreds that multiple pro-heroes began to collect in plastic bags, his eyes scanning around for the foil he had lost.

"Young man!" Came a righteous voice behind Ishiro, prompting him to turn around and come face to face with the symbol of peace himself. "I believe this is yours!"

Ishiro narrowed his eyes, walking towards All Might and retrieving the foil that he had plunged into the villain's eyeball earlier.

"I... Thank you..." Ishiro mumbled, unsure of how to really react as he did so.

"That was very brave of you!" All Might praised, stepping forward and placing a hand on Ishiro's shoulder. "Although, it was also reckless... What is your name, young man?"

"Ishiro... Well, Tachibana Ishiro..." Ishiro explained, "And yes, it was rather foolish of me."

"Foolish as it may be, Tachibana-Shounen... It was brave nonetheless!" All Might exclaimed. "You have the mettle to be a great hero one day!"

"That is high praise indeed... But, still... If it hadn't been for the green-haired boy from earlier... I wouldn't have intervened..." Ishiro admitted, "And no, I have to disagree... I do not think I have what it takes, especially mentally, to be a hero."

"To be a hero, it could be to have a trait which everyone looks up to and admires. It could be that such a trait is desirable. It is to act by instinct without thinking to alter the lives of others positively. Whether it is to be done as a symbol, a teacher, a police officer, or as mentioned earlier, a hero," All Might explained, "And to think... A boy like the one you mentioned, timid and quirkless... That, of all people, he was the one who was willing to act. And for you to act in his defence despite the clear danger involved... There is nothing more heroic than that."

Unsure of how to respond, Ishiro nodded, thinking back to the utter torment he had been faced with these few years, from losing his father to having to move to Shizuoka, to having to send his siblings abroad and now having to deal with his mother's final days, as he silently shed a tear.

"Tachibana-Shounen? Are you alright?" All Might asked, his smile still as wide as ever, "Is something the matter?"

"Well... Admittedly... Yes... There is..." Ishiro admitted, scratching the back of his head, "It's been a rough few years for me..."

"I see... Well, based on my assessment of your character, and what you seem to stand for..." All Might began to say, "You'll get through it. Believe me, no matter how much it may hurt, you will come out of it feeling much better... Do you have a quirk? If so, may I enquire as to what it does?"

"I do have a quirk..." Ishiro began to say, "What it does is... Confusing... It only seems to work when it wants to... And what it used to do, initially, anyhow... Is summon any living thing... Then there was one time I could foresee attacks in fencing... And just then, it was as if I could hear the thoughts of everyone around me..."

"That is a powerful quirk indeed, Tachibana-Shounen!" All Might exclaimed, giving a thumbs up as he turned around, "I have to run now... But I'm sure you'll do great in the future! Especially if you're considering the Hero Course!" All Might stated, "Many top heroes claim that when they first entered heroics... Their bodies moved before their minds could think!"

Ishiro looked up, having wiped his tears as he nodded his head, watching as All Might launched off.

"You have the instinct of a hero, and I'm sure you can be a great hero one day!" All Might yelled, his voice trailing off as he did. "Take care of yourself, Tachibana-Shounen!"

The raven-haired teenager watched on as All Might's figure slowly vanished up in the air, as he sat down by the edge of the roof, deep in thought as he reflected on what All Might had said.

Author's Notes 2: Not sure what people would think about me writing an MHA story, one featuring an OC as the leading character at that... But I'll be damned if I said I didn't enjoy it. Let's hope everyone reading can find some enjoyment in it as well.

Regardless of what you think about this story, love it or hate it, do let me know what you think of it in the reviews or in PMs! I'm always happy to hear from your input.
