CHAPTER 9
Robin's surgery was a success and she seems to be out of the woods...a few days after her surgery, she's regained consciousnesses and is alert while Sabrina is still in a coma.
Robin: Patrick?
Patrick: Yes?
Robin: I'd like to see our daughter, she says with a tear. I can't be without her another minute knowing she's so close.
Patrick: Of course...he says holding her hand. I can pick her up at Maxie's. You sure you want her to see you like this?
Robin: Yes, I haven't seen my little girl in over a year...I don't want to miss anymore!
Patrick: She's still the same amazing little girl and I will be happy to get her for you. Anna, I'll be back as soon as I can. Can you do me a big favor?
Anna: Of course sweetie...I'll check on Sabrina for you, knowing what he was going to ask. Robin, will you be okay for a few minutes.
Robin: Yes, she replies.
Patrick goes to pick up Emma and Anna goes to check on Sabrina.
Emma: Can I really see Mommy?! She exclaims
Patrick: Yes, baby! You can! Maxie, you want to join us? I'm pretty sure she'd love to see you! I haven't told her about your situation so she'll be doubly surprised, he smiles holding Emma.
Maxie: I don't want to intrude on your reunion.
Patrick: You're not! He smiles....please, we want you to come, right Emma?
Emma: Yea! I can't wait to tell mommy about my baby cousin!
Maxie: Ok, well, I can't say no to that, she laughs...rubbing her belly. Shall we...
Anna is in Sabrina's room waiting to see Epiphany.
Anna: Oh, Epiphany, hi! Patrick sent me to check on Sabrina...any change? She asks looking at her pale face.
Epiphany: None...I'm doing the best I can but she's just not coming out of it.
Anna; Oh boy...Patrick is losing his mind...
Epiphany: But Robin is back...he should be thrilled.
Anna: Yea, he is but I can see he's concerned about his wife.
Epiphany: Which one? She jokes.
Anna: Right, she laughs a little as well. Good question.
Sabrina finally moves for the first time in days.
Epiphany: Sabrina? Can you hear me? She says checking her pulse....If you can hear me squeeze my hand. She does.
Anna: What's happening?
Epiphany: I think she's waking up?
Anna: I'll get Patrick.
Robins Room:
Patrick: Knock, knock, he says slowly opening the door holding Emma who is a little scared.
Robin: Emma! She says with tears....oh baby girl, I've missed you!
Patrick puts her down on the bed and Emma gives Robin a hug like she's never felt before.
Emma: Mommy! I missed you so much, she cries! So did Daddy!
Robin: I know baby, I know...she says holding her close. I'm sorry you had to go through what you went through.
Emma: It's okay...daddy said it wasn't your fault...
Robin: That's right baby...I would never have left you ever...I love you so so so much! She hugs her again.
Anna: Patrick, I'm sorry to interrupt, but Sabrina is starting to wake up!
Patrick: Anna, thank you...he looks at Robin and Emma.
Robin: Go, go, she'll probably be scared and want to see you...I have my daughter and mom, I'm fine....she says reassuring him.
Patrick: Thank you....he says simply and runs to Sabrina's room.
Sabrina: (eyes flutter open) Patrick, she mumbles...
Patrick: Hey, he says wiping a tear....am I glad to see you! He says kissing her lips softly.You scared me half to death!
Sabrina: I know, I'm sorry.She squeezes his hand.
Patrick: Emma will be happy to see you too!
Sabrina: She's here? She asks concerned.
Patrick: She's with Robin...he says with his head down.
Sabrina: She must be so excited that her mom is really alive after all, she is talking softly as her throat is still sore from surgery. I know you must be happy too...she says closing her eyes
Patrick: Hey, you look at me...he says gently lifting her chin up....I love you...you hear me?
Sabrina: Our baby, (she realizes)?
Patrick: The baby is just fine he says reassuring her. You both came back to me! He says kissing her gently on the forehead. I was so afraid of losing you. He says in tears kissing her sighs relief and puts her hand on her stomach and Patrick on top of hers.Mommy and daddy are here little one...we love you so very much! He says kissing her stomach and crying.
Sabrina rubs his head and is in tears too relieved that he still wants to be with her even after Robin came back.
Sabrina: Now, I just have one question, she teases...
Patrick: What's that my love, he replies moving her hair out of her eyes so he can see his favorite feature.
Sabrina: What are we going to do?
Patrick: About? He asks
Sabrina: You do realize that you now have two wives? You are technically still married to Robin and now that she's back...well...
Patrick: Right....He laughs a little.I guess we have to deal with that don't we? He winks...I need you to know something.
Sabrina: What my love? She replies holding his hand.
Patrick: Things are messy again...he winks, but like everything else that we've been through since we got together, we can get through this too...Right?
Sabrina: Right, she smiles leaning in to kiss him. Now I have to say something else...
Patrick: Yes...
Sabrina: Do you still love Robin?
Patrick: (A little taken by surprise by the question) Babe, listen...she's Emma's mother and I will always have love for her for that, but you...you have nothing to worry about. Robin and I were having problems right before she died and were separated for a while. We did get back together, but there was still issues unresolved.
Sabrina: But she's back now...wouldn't you want to see if there was still something there?She says with a tear dropping.
Patrick: (He wipes the tear away knowing her fears) No, he says in quick response....do you know why?
Sabrina shakes her head no.
Patrick: Because you are my soul mate! Yes, I did love Robin and we loved each other very much, but until I met you, I didn't know what a soul mate was...I thought I would never find one...Robin and I will always be connected because of Emma, but sweetie, I need you to believe that I love you so much it hurts, he says with a smile, trying to make her feel better.
Sabrina: I love you too, more than anyone I've ever cared for before, she says crying kissing him.
There is a knock at the door (which is open).
Patrick: Robin...hi...he says surprised to see her up and about.
Robin: I am sorry to interrupt...she says staring at the beautiful woman in the bed.
Patrick: It's okay...umm, here, sit here...he says pulling a seat next to him so she can rest.
Robin: I'm okay actually...I need to stand...that bed is just so uncomfortable....she smiles.
Sabrina: It certainly is...she says trying to get comfortable and trying to ease the awkwardness in the room.
Patrick: Oh, um...Robin...this is um...my wife, Sabrina. Sabrina...this is Robin. He says introducing his two wives to each other.
Sabrina: Wow, she says shaking her hand...so, this is the famous Dr. Robin Scorpio...Drake, she whispers. I can't tell you what a pleasure it is to get to meet you. I've heard only wonderful things about you.
Patrick steps aside and lets the two women get to know each other...Robin sits in his seat.
Robin: Thank you...she smiles....I'm sorry your wedding was ruined...she apologizes.
Sabrina: It wasn't your fault...you were a hostage...it wasn't like you did it on purposes she jokes.
Robin: That is true, they both laugh and Patrick is shocked at their instant connection. But a little relieved about it at the same time.
Patrick: Well, since the two of you are hitting it off, I'll go check on Emma, he laughs....where is she?
Robin: She went with my mom to the gift shop, she smiles.
Patrick: I'll be back shortly...he shakes his head in disbelief....but happy for the first time in days.
Elizabeth: What's so funny? She asks running into Patrick on his way to the elevator.
Patrick: Oh, hey...nothing...my two wives are in there talking.
Elizabeth: Uh oh, she laughs...
Patrick: No...actually, they hit it off right away...They are actually getting along.
Elizabeth: Isn't that a good thing?
Patrick: Definitely...I was just surprised at how instant their connection was.
Elizabeth: I'm not...Sabrina and Robin share something in common, she winks.
Patrick: And that is?
Elizabeth: They both love you! She laughs...
Patrick: I'm going to go check on Emma, he laughs and gets on the elevator.
Back in Sabrina's room.
Robin: Sabrina, I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for my little girl while I was gone...she's told me so much about you and I can see how close the two of you have gotten. I just wanted to thank you for taking such good care of her...and Patrick.
Sabrina: (Surprised by her kind words) I love them both so much...when I first met Patrick it was right after well, (Robin shakes her head) and he was just a mess. Inconsolable and just beyond anything I've ever seen. I felt the need to help and when he needed a babysitter for Emma it was the least I could do.
Robin: I hate to be so blunt, but when did you two start seeing each other?
Sabrina explains how she and Patrick got together and how the Nurses Ball was brought back this year in honor of her and all because Emma showed Sabrina her scrapbook...Robin was blown away by what she just told her.
Robin: Wow! She says with teary eyes....That is just...so touching...
Sabrina: It was all because of Emma...she smiles...Emma showed me that scrapbook and I just felt I had to honor your memory somehow and I wanted to revive the Nurses Ball so badly that my friend Felix and I tracked down Lucy Coe and made it happen this past April.
Robin: I don't know what to say, she say speechless...
Sabrina: It's okay...really...
Robin: Who was that Britt woman by the way? She asks...
Maxie enters the room
Maxie: I'd be happy to tell you who that woman was cous? She says standing in the doorway with her big belly ready to pop!
Sabrina: Please, do, because my little one and I are not really up for talking about the Britch,she laughs.
Robin: MAXIE! She says excitedly....would you look at this? She says hugging her very pregnant cousin...Patrick didn't tell me you were having a baby?! She says teary eyed.
Maxie: He wanted it to be a surprise, she smiled.....How are you two feeling? She asks Sabrina and Robin.
Sabrina: Better...sore, but me and baby Drake are just fine...
Robin: You're pregnant too? I didn't know....she says holding Maxie's hand.
Sabrina: Yes, we just found out a couple days before the wedding.
Robin: Congratulations! And Maxie! I can't get over this picture here, she says referring to her pregnancy.
Epiphany comes in to check on Sabrina's vitals.
Epiphany: Okay ladies, out...I need to check Nurse Sant...er, Nurse Drake's vitals and there are way too many Drake woman in here, she laughs, as do the three girls.
Maxie: Okay okay, we're leaving...Sabrina, do you need anything?
Sabrina: No, I'm okay, thank you...it was really nice to meet you Robin...
Robin: Likewise, and congratulations again. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of each other.
Sabrina: Count on it! She smiles.
Robin: Okay, Maxie, she continues talking to Maxie as they leave the room.
Epiphany: Sooooo, you and the other Mrs. Drake...hmmm...'
Sabrina: I AM the only Mrs. Drake, Nurse Johnson....she says jokingly but in a serious tone as well.
Epiphany: Alright, noted, she laughed. Let's check your vitals shall we.
