I was too amused when I created this. Please Enjoy! :D

Long chapter. xD Again.

Chapter 22

"I'm not going to be your test dummy." Tony scowled like a child. "This is like playing with fire. I was told not to play with fire."

"It'll just be till the end of the movie." The archer grinned. "It's not like you have to do it all through out. Just every time an issue takes place. Besides, your face is already a good match for this."

"No." Tony crossed his arms. "I draw the line of my goatee being insulted but I am not listening to this! I am not accepting this! No. Nope! No. Why!? Even you, Bruce?!"

Tony comically backed away. "How dare you betray me!?"

"I think it's pretty logical." Bruce took notice with a smile.

"Why don't you guys do it?!"

"If I do it, it's just creepy and awkward." Clint chuckled. "If Nat does it, it'll be like an old lady giving children candy."

Natasha punched him on the shoulder.

"Ow. It's not right." He rubbed at the pain. "If Steve does it, well, Steve sucks at it, no offense Cap but you're not really the type of guy to make off with a good conversation when it comes to jokes. And Banner, like hell will Banner be able to pull it off."

"I am offended with your lack of confidence." Bruce smiled. "But I agree. I'll most likely mess it up."

"Then it's settled!" Clint pumped his fists.

"Do it for the team." Steve insisted.

"Noooooo WAyyyy!"

"Ten bucks says you can't do it!" Clint smirked.

"You're on dodo-bird!" Tony pointed.

"Is this a good idea?" Natasha turned to Bruce. "He'll most likely get his face punched by not only one Norse god, but two."

"If Tony accepted Steve's challenge to put objects on Selvig without noticing," Bruce sighed. "I doubt this would be any different."

"It's so on!"

"If he starts attacking you, you can keep the ten bucks." Clint laughed. "Because I swear, you'll freaking need it to fix your face!"

Tony thought about it.

"What did I agree to?" He scowled.

"It's for the best." Steve patted him on the shoulders.

"Whatever."

Thor and Loki entered the room again, only to find the Avengers all smiling. Loki tiredly walked by his brother's side. His eyes were red from the tears, but was otherwise fine. Thor managed to bandage Loki's injury with perfect precision, used to the fact that Loki often injured his hands when he used his magic to practice with during his childhood.

They stood at the door, waiting.

"How is Loki's injury?" Bruce curiously asked.

"He is fine." Thor answered. "Right?"

"Of course." Loki answered.

"Thor, we have to tell you something." Steve stepped forward. "It's about-"

"The Other was here." Thor grimaced, saying it first.

"You knew?" Tony gaped.

"Loki told me." He answered quickly. "It is best to keep the lights on and our senses aware for when the Other strikes again."

"That's not his style." Loki wanted to say.

"Damn." Clint crossed his arms. "We didn't have to go through the trouble of looking at the video feeds if Loki had just told us."

"Forgive him." Natasha piped. "He just wants to rest. We told Fury about it and he wants us to keep a close eye on Loki, just in case the Other strikes again."

"He already has Agents running around the place to find him." Clint added. "We're ordered to stay as a team."

Thor nodded, "Thank you."

"Should we continue this movie another time?" Steve suggested.

"I don't think that's wise." Bruce said.

"No." Thor said sternly. "We will finish this today, so that our hearts may be at ease so we could try and find a solution to our problems."

The Avengers looked at Loki, looking just as exhausted as Thor. Loki's fear resided and back was the mask he always put up, the mask of being brave. The Loki they had fun talking to was half back and yet half absent.

"Are you sure you want to finish this, Loki?" Steve asked.

"Please," Loki scoffed. "The sooner it is finished, the faster I get to leave this wretched place."

"Psst." Clint called, Tony turned.

"What?" Tony mouthed silently.

Clint pointed.

"So?"

Clint pointed again.

"Now?!"

"Yes now." Clint mouthed back at him.

"Why!?"

"Bet you can't do it." Clint gave Tony a wiggle of an eyebrow and Tony scoffed at it.

Ten bucks my ass.

Tony walked towards Loki and stopped in front of him. Loki tilted his head in a cute angle of innocence that Tony just wanted to rip his hair out for even agreeing to do this challenge. He was going to get hurt, but oh well, he wasn't in it for the money, he was in it for the challenge that Clint had made so obvious that would eventually be his demise.

None of that.

"You're not going to break down again, are you, Princess?" Tony teased Loki. "We have medicines for that- Butt loads of drugs that I could introduce you to. Do you have psychiatric wards in Asgard?"

Tony began to pull Loki to sit next to him on the floor.

"Unhand me." Loki hissed at him.

Clint whistled and nudged Natasha. "This is going to be awesome."

"Don't count on it, Clint."

"Oh man, we have to let your try whatever Bruce is having to calm down." Tony laughed, creeping Loki out. "I'm sure he has a bag of weed somewhere in the room."

"Thor." Loki whined.

"He's so petrified." Clint snickered.

"I think this is going for the worst." Steve observed.

"No way."

"Um." Thor tilted his head in confusion. "Ah? Huh?"

"None of that! Going to your brother for help- pshh-" Tony gave him a forced grin, and said through his teeth. "Just work with me here, I'll lose ten bucks if I don't win."

"What are you-" He blinked.

"OKAY! Sit down and we'll talk like girls all night!"

"Thor!" Loki looked at him for help before turning to Tony. "Unhand me you overly grown bearded man!"

"OH GOD!" Clint choked in laughter as he wiped his tears. "I'm so going to win this bet."

"Hey, I haven't given you that drink yet." Tony grinned, ignoring Clint and pushed Loki down to sit on the cold floor. "I gave you a drink, but not a drink-drink if you know what I mean. So-"

"If you know what is good for you Stark, you would shut up."

"Say it!"

"What?"

"Say it Loki, I know you want to!"

"Say what!?"

"Call me Tony."

"No."

"Please."

"No!"

"PLEEEaaasseee!"

"Annoying and absurd mortal-"

"Loo-" He imitated a whale.

Norns, not again. Loki cursed the mortal.

He was not going to laugh!

Out of nowhere, Loki pushed Tony's face far away from his as Tony tumbled to the floor.

"I detest being interrupted!" Loki hissed.

Clint burst into a laughing fit that caused the rest of the Avengers to face palm at them. Thor stood there in confusion, watching as his little brother was coaxed out of nowhere into a meaningless conversation with Stark.

"I don't understand." Thor mouthed.

"What's there to understand?" Natasha smirked. "It's going so well."

Loki sat crossed legged and reached for his pillow on the table. He snorted in annoyance and laughed at the man rubbing his face. Tony grinned back and gave his friends a wink, and a thumbs up that Loki did not see.

"What is going on?" Thor wondered.

"Hey Loki does Asgard have cats-" Tony began to start.

Loki glanced at Thor, seeking for help but Tony kept talking nonsense, trying to distract Loki and get him to turn back into that snarky prideful attitude of a god. Everyone else was in on it, except for Thor and Loki, of course.

"What is Stark doing?" Thor turned to his new friends.

"They're both children." Bruce muttered like a tired father. "Pretend Tony's on a play date at a day care. No, not like that Thor. It's for babies- children- look it's just- think of Tony finally finding a friend just as broken as he is."

"We ordered Tony to get Loki out of his comfort zone when you returned." Steve whispered. "We thought it was best."

"Yeah because the tension is too thick." Clint yawned.

"You wish to rile Loki up?"

"It's working isn't it?" Natasha smirked. "Loki's pissed at Stark."

"I suppose." Thor did not like his new friends techniques. "Your ways are often misguided."

"I see no problem with it." Clint shrugged.

"But why?"

"While we were discussing the Other," Natasha crossed her arms. "We realized that Loki is capable of fighting when he doesn't have a history with a person connected to his torture or his rape. We decided to make Loki get used to the idea of us getting into his personal space."

"What good will this do?" Thor questioned.

"It's psychological." Bruce explained.

"Psychological?"

"If Loki gets out of his comfort zone, and just stopped over complicating things, your brother can fight on his own without having problems."

"I see." Thor nodded.

"Come on, let's finish the movie." Clint took the Stark-pad. "We're leaving the lights on this time, right?"

"Aye." Thor grumbled under his breath as he saw Loki hit Tony hard on the face with his pillow, causing Tony to whine like a baby on the floor.

"I didn't even hit you that hard." Loki gritted his teeth. "Stop that."

"It hurts you asshole!"

"Then stop irritating me!"

"Then stop being so- childish."

"You're the child, Stark."

"Tony! Call me Tony!"

"If you keep making childish remarks, I might!" Loki hissed.

"So you admit you can call me Tony!"

"Ugh!" Loki buried his face on the pillow. "Mmmhhm-"

"You're cursing me." Tony turned to his friends. "He's cursing me!"

"You're exaggerating." Steve palmed his face.

"No I'm not! He's really cursing me!"

"He's exaggerating." Bruce confirmed.

"I find it funny." Clint smirked.

"Wretche- mort-al-" Loki continued to murmur on the pillow.

"I'm surrounded by children." Natasha blew her hair away from her face.

"I know not what is worse." Thor said.

"What?"

Bruce, Steve, Clint and Natasha turned to him.

"Loki crying, or Loki scheming." Thor shrugged and called. "Brother-"

Thor walked over to them, snatched Loki's pillow weapon and plopped in between Tony and Loki on the floor. The two watched as Thor grumpily gave them both a look that meant for them to stop, but the two took it as a challenge that got on Thor's nerves.

"I win." Clint huffed.

"Are you kidding me?!" Natasha snorted. "I think we have a new competitor."

"Thor?" Steve questioned.

"This is a stupid idea." Bruce muttered, walking away.

"I want my money." Clint complained.

Right outside the halls of the lab, stood the Other, patiently waiting and pacing. He couldn't get near Loki anymore now that the Avengers were aware of his presence. They make it so difficult for him to capture Loki and make him fall back into his arms.

"Treat it like a game." The Other hissed. "Enjoy while you can. My next appearance won't be put off so easily."

He was offended that they dismissed his presence like he was nothing.

"I will make you fear me."

And Loki, he had forgotten the Other for a moment, and the Other would not let that happen.

"You will give me the tesseract. One way or another."

Just as the Avengers gathered to watch the movie, the Other tried to find a prey that was easy to manipulate, because hell this was going to be fun. He found an Agent that had a mind so twisted that is was so easy to manipulate him, making him another pawn to his and Thanos' games.

"What say you mortal?"

"What do you want me to do?" He said.

The Other just grinned.

oOo

"The Bifrost has been shut down and the tesseract locked away in the vault." Sif finished.

"There are other paths off Asgard; ways known only to a few." Heimdall intervened.

"One, actually." Thor looked at them with all seriousness.

His comrades realized what Thor was saying and each of them gave a look of disagreement to the Prince.

"No." Volstagg muttered.

"Are they talking about you?" Clint raised an eyebrow.

"Most likely." Loki huffed. "Thor's friends and I haven't been on good terms for years."

"And I wish I realized it sooner." Thor grumbled.

"Now you know."

Thor leaned back on the table that Natasha and Steve continued to sit on while the three stayed on the floor. Loki eyed the screen next to Thor and Tony lazily lounged on the other side of Loki's brother. Bruce and Clint sat together this time, and even though they were all watching the screen, they made sure to stay alert.

They wouldn't be caught off guard this time.

In the dungeons, Thor approached Loki's cell to see Loki walking towards the barrier in his green tunic, brown leather vest and black pants.

"You don't seem so bad." Steve piped.

"That is because you do not see it." Loki addressed, feeling something hit the bottom of his stomach. "Here it goes."

"This would be the first time you'll talk to him, won't you?" Natasha asked, Thor, who looked up at her from behind.

"Aye."

"Thor." Loki's voice dripped with hate. "After all this time, and now you've come to visit me. Why? Have you come to gloat? To mock?"

"Loki enough." Thor glared. "No more illusions."

"So you can see through it." Loki mumbled.

"I have to."

Loki frowned at this and turned to Thor, who held one of his hand and squeezed it tight. He could remember Thor's words echoing in his head not to embrace the words they would exchange in the movie, because it won't be their future, Thor made sure of that.

Loki closed his eyes, as if in a trance, and bent his head forward. He disappeared in a ripple of magic and the illusion of a neat cell dropped to show his room scattered with furniture. Loki sat the opposite wall, his foot bled and his clothing torn and his hair messy.

The walls had scorch marks and the floor riddled itself with torn books.

"Damn." Tony cursed.

"We didn't know you could do that." Bruce mumbled.

"I am capable of making illusions and tricks." Loki lowered his gaze.

The team was silent, taking in the future Loki's appearance. They were all fooled by his illusion that he was okay, and they took that note to heart so that Loki would never fool them again.

"Remember what I said." Thor voiced.

"Aye." Loki sighed. "You need not say it twice."

"Now you see me brother." Loki answered.

Thor approached from the other side of the barrier and Loki turned to him with hopeful sad eyes that Thor returned with hardened ones.

"Did she suffer?" Loki asked.

"I did not come here to share our grief."

"God damn, Thor." Tony piped when he paused the movie. "If I was in Asgard and at that moment, I'd punch you right now for saying that."

"He was asking about his mother." Steve murmured.

"And you just had to say it like that." Clint pointed.

"Not only was Loki deprived of saving his mom," Tony counted. "He was deprived of her funeral too and now he was asking about her death and you single handedly dismissed him for asking how she died."

"It wasn't wise-" Bruce mumbled.

"Hmm..." Natasha hummed.

Thor just lowered his gaze.

"We're not going through this again." Loki cursed their words. "As said, this was supposed to be Thor's future and mine. I'm sure Thor has felt guilty enough without any of you adding to it."

"Yeah but-" Clint was stopped when Loki raised a finger.

"Just play the damn thing."

"I offer you the chance of a far richer sacrament."

"It's like religion, but Norse style." Tony muttered.

"Go on." Loki urged.

"I know you seek vengeance as much as I do. You help me escape Asgard and I will grant it to you. Vengeance. And afterwards this cell."

Loki chuckled, voice hoarse. "You must be truly desperate to come to me for help." Thor began to pace as Loki continued. "What makes you think you can trust me?"

"I don't." Thor paused.

"You don't." Loki repeated to himself.

"Loki." Thor turned to him, but Loki shushed him.

"Mother did." He said. "You should know that when we fought each other in the past, I did so with the glimmer of hope that my brother was still in there somewhere. That hope no longer exists to protect you."

He glared at Loki.

"You betray me, and I will kill you."

Loki smiled and bent forward.

"When do we start."

It went back to the meeting where Thor was discussing with his comrades. Fandral was focused and he eyed each of his friends.

"He will betray you."

"He will try."

"I really hate your friends." Natasha cracked her knuckles. "They aren't very good at giving the benefit of the doubt."

"Tell me about it." Clint smirked.

"Loki, how are you holding up?" Steve asked politely.

"Doing well." Loki sighed. "There is not much I can do at this point. I cannot fully blame Thor for what he had said-"

Thor looked guilty.

"But my brother is equally betrayed as I am."

"Why didn't you just tell him, I wonder." Tony leaned forward to them.

"What do you mean, Stark?" Thor blinked.

"I mean, if Thor was so bent on getting you out of that cell to help him even if it's just a stupid promise. You would have at least told him a portion of what the Chitauri did to you. Thor would have reason to doubt that and look into it further even if he wouldn't fully believe you."

"They would think of it as another one of my deceitful schemes." Loki scoffed. "Knowing the tone of Thor's voice. Betray me and I will kill you was meant in all seriousness."

"And I am sorry for that." Thor palmed his face. "But I will not do that now, I swear it. That is not how I think."

Loki covered Thor's lips with his hand.

"Hush." Loki spoke, turning to the Avengers. "I am sure we can all come to an agreement that the future Thor knew nothing of what happened to me, therefore had every reason to hate the very fiber of my being. Yes?"

The Avengers looked at each other and nodded.

"Good." Loki released Thor.

"But-"

"Shhh..." Loki shushed, despite feeling pain for the words of future Thor, Loki had to put on a brave face and moved on from the hurt and sadness.

"I'm playing it." Clint pressed it again.

Loki was now in his armor and he and Thor were now walking through lined pillars. Thor was anxious, looking around everywhere, but Loki just looked like he was having the time of his life.

"This is so unlike you, brother." Loki grinned. "So clandestine. Are you sure you wouldn't just punch your way out?"

"That does sound like Thor." Natasha nodded.

"If you keep speaking, I just might."

"Even if we are angry at each other, our insults don't cease." Thor shrugged. "What says you?"

"My insults could be better." Loki sighed.

"Fine." Loki smiled. "As you wish, I'm not even here."

Loki turned into an Einherjar with his magic and turned to Thor. "Is this better?"

"It's better company at least."

"What the hell is this!?" Clint paused. "What is that?! That!? How the hell did you do that?"

Loki turned to him in confusion. "What is what, Agent Barton?"

"You never told us you could shape-shift?" Steve explained.

"Why would I tell you?" Loki smirked.

"That's amazing." Bruce said, his science brain kicking in. "That is just- impressive. Are your molecules changing too? Or even the inside of your body like your organs or bones?"

"Or are they just illusions?" Tony added.

"You can create a vagina if you wanted to." Clint earned a smack from Natasha. "What?! I'm being honest!"

"If you so crudely put it that way." Loki disgustingly shivered at the thought. "I can make it convincing, but I do not want to go into details."

"If I had powers, I would just take a nap! Or fly to bed! Or even conjure up a bed and nap at it!"

"The world would be better off without you." Said his partner.

"Loki knows more tricks." Thor smiled at his brother and his friends. "Trust me. Now that I think about it, when Loki tried to destroy Midgard, he was lenient about it."

"Consider yourselves lucky." Loki smiled.

"How?!" Clint gaped. "I can't believe this. So you can turn invisible, that's from the first movie and now you can shape-shift?! You could have won the entire world and play as Fury and no one would ever know."

Loki decided to shape-shift when he leaned on Thor, turning into Fury and shocking everyone. Tony and Clint burst into a fit full of laughter while a panicked Thor tried to pry Loki-Fury away from him.

"Oh god." Tony just stared. "This is a nightmare."

"Agh!" Thor was startled by this and proceeded to pry off Loki-Fury off him. "Brother, this is not amusing!"

"It's amusing to me, brother." Loki said in Fury's voice.

"You even sound like him!" Clint gaped.

"If Fury found out about this knowledge, he'll make you swear to obedience and all that is right and holy." Natasha said dryly. "This is beyond my capacity to think. If you really tried, you could replace him effective immediately."

"I am glad I managed to impress the Widow." Loki-Fury grinned. "But no, I'd rather not copy him."

"Ew." Clint shivered. "Fury's face and Loki's smirk do not go well together."

"Do you think it's possible to get tests from you, Loki?" Bruce asked.

"Yeah, you'll be a scientists' dream." Tony grinned.

"That would not be necessary." Thor said.

Loki stopped his magic almost immediately and blinked the blurriness of his eyes away and rubbed at it, causing worry to the others, especially his brother. Thor stopped Loki from rubbing his eyes as Loki cheekily grinned at them, feeling a heavy burden lift from his chest as the jest worked.

"I probably shouldn't have done that." Loki yawned. "Often times it just takes over my magic and drains it."

"I want to see more." Clint smiled.

"And more we shall see." Tony snatched the Stark-pad and pressed play.

"Still, we could be less conspicuous." Loki turned Thor into Sif and bit his lips. "Mmm... brother, you look ravishing."

Thor looked at his feminine body and said with his same voice.

"It will hurt no less when I kill you in this form."

Clint and Tony couldn't help but pause it at that and just burst into laughing again.

Loki blushed and covered his face with his hands in embarrassment, and Thor couldn't even bring himself to look at the Avengers. Steve was also turning red while Bruce and Natasha remained with a smile on their lips.

"I know I over looked it a bit." Clint breathed, trying to calm himself. "But hell, you can turn other people into other people too!"

"Of course." Loki turned a shade of red.

"Turn me into Natasha."

"Don't." She glared at her partner.

She snatched the control from them and pressed play.

"Very well." Loki smirked. "Perhaps you prefer one of your new companions, given that you seem to like them so much."

"PAUSE!" Tony snatched it immediately.

"Stark!" She hissed.

"We are not going to finish this soon, are we?" Thor turned to Loki with a smile.

"I doubt we would with their constant pausing." Loki yawned.

"You can lean on me if you wish."

"Hmm, that's all you're worth after all." Loki leaned on his shoulder. "A lump of mattress."

"I am wounded."

"Mattresses don't talk, Thor."

While Loki leaned on Thor's shoulder, the two brothers watched as the Avengers debate who it is Loki was going to copy next. And they were now betting on who it was, but decided against the bet. Loki and Thor were curious what the hell was going on with these mortal's minds that they would just make a game out of it.

"I have an idea of who I am to copy." Loki smirked. "Do you?"

"I do not know." Thor mumbled.

"Don't say it." Tony grinned when he heard them. "My money is on the Hulk."

"I don't think that would happen." Bruce smiled. "Mine is Barton."

"Alright, I wanna find out." Clint laughed. "I'm so curious. My bet is Stark."

"Stark." Natasha said.

"Tony." Steve answered.

"Why Stark?" Loki mumbled from his position.

"Because I fought with Thor, remember?" Tony smirked. "Doth mother know, you weareth her drapes? And he hates my guts which makes it funny."

"I recall." Thor grimaced.

"May I?" Loki reached for the device and Natasha took it from Tony, giving it to him. "It is safe to say that you are all wrong in your guesses."

Loki morphed into Captain America and they all burst into laughter while Steve turned furiously red. Tony and Clint were clutching at their stomachs and even Natasha couldn't hold her laughter.

Bruce snickered in the background while everyone just lost it.

"Oh this is much better. Whoa!" Loki said with Steve's voice. "Costume's a bit much. It's so tight! But the confidence! I can feel the righteousness surging! Hey, you wanna have a rousing discussion of truth, honor, patriotism? God Bless America!"

Thor grabbed Loki and slammed him to a pillar.

"Stop. Stop. Stop." Tony breathed as Loki paused the video.

"By the nine, it wasn't that funny." Loki smirked, turning to his brother, who was also holding his laughter. "You find it amusing, how odd, and it was to rile you up too."

"It was a bit amusing." Thor smiled.

"It's not." Steve blushed.

"So... so tight." Clint almost toppled off his seat, not even bothering with his injury. "Oh god, I- I haven't had a good-good laugh s-since ever... aw man, it hurts."

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but well done." Natasha smiled.

"Same here." Bruce wiped his tears. "That was good."

"I think I found my buddy when it comes to insulting the Captain." Tony winked at Loki, who smiled in return.

"Alright, calm down." Steve tried to take control. "We have to continue this, guys."

"I think we are now having a rousing discussion of his patriotism."

Loki grinned, feeling like he belonged for the first time in years. It had been so long since he had found someone to enjoy his jokes, his pranks and his mischief. It had been so long since he had been the center of attention, in a good kind of way. He wasn't just the third or forth wheel, he was someone, an equal. And Loki relished this moment, because no matter how much pain he felt over the course of the day, this struck him as a good thing.

"What?" Thor released Loki.

They both look at the guards that passed by and Loki looked at Thor with a smile. "You can at least furnish me with a weapon. My dagger, something!"

Thor looked at him and frowned, getting something from his belt.

"At last, a little common sense."

And Thor snapped a pair of handcuffs on him and smiled like he just won a lottery.

"I thought you liked tricks." He hummed.

Loki began to speak in Asgardian.

"That was not amusing." Loki scowled at his brother.

"I find it a little funny." Thor allowed Loki's eyes to drop. "But you are right, that was not as amusing as it should be."

oOo

The story went from their meeting, back to when they were doing their plan. Sif took Jane from her chambers and knocked the guards out, bringing her to Thor and Loki.

"You're-" Jane pointed.

"I'm Loki." He said. "You may have heard of me."

She swung at him, and slapped his face. "That was for New York."

"Ohhoo!" Clint and Tony winced. "Ow!"

"She packs a punch." Natasha whistled.

"That must've hurt." Bruce mumbled and Steve nodded.

"I did not deserve that." Loki pushed himself off Thor.

"I apologize for her." Thor huffed.

Loki laughed. "I like her."

"Your reaction was-"

"Mocking you, Thor." Loki huffed. "I was mocking."

Heimdall fooled Odin and sent him to the Bifrost, and when Odin found out what they were planning, he immediately ordered everyone to force Thor and his accomplices back to Asgard by any means necessary.

"So they're just going to attack you?" Steve questioned.

"That is the idea, yes." Thor cradled Loki's sleepy form.

"Is he-"

"I am perfectly awake, Agent Romanov." Loki answered with a yawn. "No need to think much on my person."

"Not for long." Tony mumbled, standing up to stretch and took a seat away from the floor. "Ugh."

"I'll hold them off." Sif readied herself. "Take her."

"Thank you." Thor nodded, leaving with Jane and as soon as Loki was behind, Sif stopped him with her weapon and placed it under Loki's throat.

"Betray him, and I'll kill you." Sif warned.

Loki chuckled. "It's good to see you too, Sif."

"I don't like her." Natasha voiced out.

"Are you kidding me, you two are like meant to be." Clint smirked. "You two have that same crazy feel around you."

"I cannot disagree." Thor mumbled softly. "You remind me of Sif."

"I'm no lady." Natasha smirked.

"Is Loki really sleeping?" Steve curiously whispered.

"I am awake." Loki scowled. "Just because I am using Thor as a mattress does not mean I have fallen prey to sleep."

But they noticed Loki's tired eyes were ready to give out, but Loki was still watching. They stopped trying to ask any questions and just allowed the movie to continue. Bruce stayed awfully quiet, not wanting to get into the mess while Tony just remained passive and a little bored.

Of course, he could never really sit still for too long.

The scene changed again, back to the meeting where Volstagg questioned their escape, and Thor dramatically answered his question.

"That, my friend, is why we won't be leaving by foot."

Volstagg allowed Thor and Jane to pass, giving them both a nod, but when Loki came and walked past him, Volstagg stopped him and pushed him back, Loki just carelessly gave him a look.

"If you even think about betraying him-"

"You'll kill me?" Loki mocked. "Evidently there will be a line."

Volstagg allowed him pass.

"He has a point." Clint started chewing his collar. "I told you guys to get in line, didn't I?"

"Whopdedoo-" Tony tiredly yawned.

"I thought you said you knew how to fly this thing." Loki stood in the corner.

"I said how hard could it be."

The Einherjar started attacking Sif and Volstagg, while they fought to stop them from getting to the three who were already inside the ship. Volstagg was overpowered by the number of guards and fell to the ground along with them.

"Whatever you're doing, brother, I suggest you do it faster."

"Shut up, Loki."

"You must have missed something."

"I didn't." Thor panicked. "I'm pressing every button on this thing."

And Thor did press every button on it, gliding his hand through ever single one and sliding it over each, slamming his hand angrily.

Loki started snickering on Thor's chest.

"Out of all the things you find amusing." Thor frowned, still talking in Asgardian.

"Can you blame me for your sheer stupidity?"

"No, don't hit it, just press it gently."

"See what I mean?" Loki smiled and Thor just huffed.

"I am pressing it gently and it's not WORKING!"

The ship came to life and Thor and Loki heard the Avengers muttering about Thor riding a ship and questioned if he was really capable of doing so. Loki adjusted himself to get a better position and continued to use Thor as his mattress, which Thor had no complain on.

The columns were destroyed when the ship was activated and Loki began to insult him.

"I think you missed a column."

"Shut up." Thor flew them away from the palace.

"Damn Thor, them skills." Tony joked.

"You should never have a license to fly." Clint said, watching as Thor broke more things.

"We didn't know you could fly a ship." Steve mumbled. "Do you know how the Quinjet works?"

"You're not encouraging him to driving the Quinjet," Bruce said. "Are you?"

"Well- if he knows how to fly-"

"No." Clint frowned. "I'm not allowing that."

"I know how it partially works." Thor frowned.

"Shh..." Loki sleepily slammed his hand to Thor's mouth. "Quiet." And Thor gently pried Loki's hands off his face as he embraced his brother earning a groan of protest from Loki.

"Look," Loki sighed. "Why don't you let me take over, I'm clearly the best pilot."

"Is that right?" Thor grinned. "Out of the two of us, which one can actually fly?"

"You know I'm a better pilot." Loki hummed, listening.

"Are you?" Natasha gave them a look from above.

"Tell her, Thor."

"I suppose." Thor huffed, looking back at the screen.

"If you can fly, why didn't you just fly one when you attacked New York?" Clint questioned.

"Don't know." Loki buried himself on Thor's shoulder.

"I believe Loki does not want to talk." Thor stroked the back of Loki's head, coaxing Loki into a dreamless sleep. "Sleep, Loki."

"Shut up."

"What are you doing?" Tony whispered, catching their attention.

"Whenever Loki exerts himself and his magic drains him, he turns into this state, like a very sappy dough." Thor whispered back to them, earning a slap to the face.

"Ow, brother."

"Stop talking about me as if I am not listening." Loki said, eyes still closed. "And this is not a state, this is just me trying to rest my eyes and my magic."

"Keep telling yourself that, Loki."

"Don't stop whatever you are doing, slave." Loki mocked, and Thor continued to stroke the back of his neck as Loki was falling back into that sleepy state.

"Slave. Pfft. Your insults are diminishing by minutes." Thor grinned, winking at his friends. "None but I or my mother, and often father saw Loki like this. My brother never wishes for anyone else to see this as weak."

"So what is this state exactly?" Bruce curiously asked.

"His tired overly dramatic state." Thor hummed happily when he felt Loki pinch his side. "Ow... haha... He does not know what he is doing, or half of what he is saying because he is already in his half sleep half wake state."

"I am not, you overly grown baboon." Loki muttered.

Clint and Tony snickered at that.

"Do you want to leave?" Steve asked.

"No." Loki answered.

Jane suddenly collapsed in the corner in front of them and Loki mockingly looked at her without any care.

"Oh dear." He said. "Is she dead?"

"Oh no you didn't." Tony laughed.

"Serves her right." Loki said dryly.

"She hasn't done anything to you." Thor gave him a face that Loki did not see.

"Oh, so you are telling me I deserved her slap and she does not deserve my insults. How utterly amusing, Thor."

"Loki..." Thor whined.

"Keep quiet if you still want to be useful and make amends." Loki went back to his half sleepy state.

"Is it just me, or is Loki taking advantage of Thor?" Clint whispered to Natasha, who stared back at him with the same expression.

"It's not just you."

Thor broke a building, and Loki opened his mouth to talk. "Not a word." Thor muttered in his annoyance.

Loki snickered in the background and Thor pulled his hair.

"Ow. Childish." Loki opened his eyes and glared at him.

"You started it." Thor huffed.

Several Asgardian ships started following them and Loki turned around to see before turning his attention back to his brother. "Now they're following us." The smaller ships began to fire at them. "Now they're firing at us!"

"Yes, thank you for the commentary, Loki! It's not at all distracting." Thor argued.

"At least now we see they're really brothers." Steve mentioned in his whisper.

"Are you kidding me?" Tony turned to Steve, whispering back and pointing. "Tell me that is not brotherly bromance enough? Heck, they're like, totally brothers slash bromance. Or this is just an Asgardian thing."

"Are you implying what I think you're implying?" Natasha raised her eyebrow. "Really, Stark?"

"Tell me you don't see it?"

They all turned his attention to Thor watching the screen and Loki nodding off on his chest, also trying to pay attention to the screen. They each sighed and nodded at Tony for confirmation.

They all turned back to the screen without another word.

"Well done, you just decapitated your grandfather."

Thor frowned as Loki shifted to lie his back on Thor. "Odin will kill you with such a stunt." Loki muttered.

"At least I know how to prevent it from happening." Thor said.

"Positive thinking."

"You know, this is wonderful. This is a tremendous idea. Let's steal the biggest most obvious ship in the universe and escape in that, flying around the city, smashing into everything in sight so everyone could see us. It's brilliant, Thor! It's truly brilliant!"

And Thor pushed him off the ship.

"You pushed me!" Loki leaned forward and turned to Thor with a hurt expression.

"What?!" Thor was taken back.

"I know you know nothing about my time with the Chitauri, but if you thought about my time when I hung off gungnir and every childish stunt you and your friends pulled, I would have thought you'd learn your lesson by now. Such a stunt wouldn't be as necessary."

Thor opened his mouth to talk but was stopped by Loki's hurt expression.

"How could you?" Loki gave an offended grunt.

"But Fandral caught you!" Thor pointed.

"You pushed me! That's not an excuse."

"I don't know which one is the movie, that-" Clint pointed at Thor and Loki arguing. "Or that." He said pointing at the screen.

"I see your time in the dungeon has made you no less graceful, Loki." Fandral smiled as Loki painfully got up.

"You lied to me." He tilted his head. "I'm impressed."

"You're not fragile, Loki." Thor whined.

Loki moved away from him, refusing to be coddled like a child and crossed his arms, staring at the screen intently while the others half listened to their conversation and half payed attention to the screen.

"You intent to use my knowledge of the paths and this is how you treat me." Loki huffed. "How impolite and completely ungrateful."

"You would do the same to me had I been irritating." Thor grunted. "Fandral caught you."

Loki took the controls and Thor asked Fandral to attack the guards chasing after them. Fandral gave them a salute while Loki turned up and about, headed towards the path that he found out.

"This Fandral guy is the only one who didn't threaten Loki." Bruce implied.

"Fandral is the closest one among the four that I actually like." Loki mumbled. "But his constant flirting and way with charms is pathetic and annoying."

The Avengers gave Thor a questioning look.

"Long story." Thor rubbed his temples.

"Loki!" Thor shouted.

"If it were easy, everyone would do it."

"Are you mad?"

"Possibly."

And Loki aimed them straight into the hole.

"Ta-da!"

"If you think about it," Natasha voiced out. "Loki gave you so many hints that he's not to blame. He has a heart, he helped you without much of a thought, he allowed you to do what you did to him, and he's even voicing out his opinions to you and secretly giving you messages."

"Let's face it," Clint grimaced. "Thor's just dense."

"Even your friends agree with me." Loki sighed, finding sleep to be difficult now that he was fully awake.

Malekith and Kurse began to talk.

And Loki ignored the conversation.

"Thor?" Loki questioned him in their language.

"What is it?" Thor asked.

"What will we do when this is through?"

"After?" Loki nodded at him. "I know not, brother. Perhaps to eat dinner, but if you wish to sleep that is fine as well."

"And you?"

"I can go a night without a meal."

Loki sighed and took the pillow, placing it in between him and Thor and plopped right on it, making Thor grunt. Loki looked up at his brother's upside-down face and Loki gave him a serious expression, which Thor pathetically returned with a stupid one.

"What?"

"What changed your mind?" Thor mocked.

"You're a mattress." Loki replied. "Mattresses don't talk."

Thor just laughed.

Loki couldn't bring himself to move away from Thor, because when Loki thought about it, Frigga would always love him and if she left, the only one he would have left, was Thor. And Loki wasn't about to let him go.

Because Loki was just that selfish.
