Chef Hatchet tried not to inhale the familiar, foul stenches of Camp Wawanakwa. Since being fished out of the water after the TDAS finale, it had been closed to the public and deemed a safety hazard. Only one person ever came to the island anymore. With Chef's arrival, that number went up to two.

The ex-military walked down the rickety old dock and a plank fell into the water. Chef gave it an unimpressed look.

He soon found himself at the old mess hall. He sighed, recalling memories of serving revolting meals to the Total Drama contestants. Sitting inside was the lone resident of the island, depressingly sighing into a glass with a small umbrella poking out of it.

"Do you ever miss it Chef?" Chris McLean asked without looking up. "The humiliation? The drama? The starvation?"

"You are one sick man," Chef grumbled as he sat across from the former reality show host.

"Just admit it Chef, those were the golden years," Chris said wistfully.

"Yeah, they were," Chef agreed and the two exchanged a grin.

"Too bad it's all over," Chris said, running a hand through his hair. "I mean, I'm getting older Chef. I found a gray hair in the shower this morning!"

"Aren't you, like, in your thirties?"

"I'm having a mid-life crisis!" Chris declared dramatically.

Chef rolled his eyes, "Well, I got something that might help."

The cook held up a manilla folder with a seal. Chris' eyes widened and he took the folder.

"Is this what I think it is?"

"The budget for a new season," Chef told him. "That folder has plans for renovating the island cause the producers want to go for a nostalgic feel. It has crew members, timetables, everything we need."

Chris hesitated to break the seal. He turned to his old colleague, "What about the contestants? No way they agreed to get the old cast back. Do you know how many of them have sued me?"

"Well there's Courtney, Heather, Duncan, Alejandro, Scott, Ezekiel…" Chef began listing many, many names.

"Okay, okay I get it! Why do you think I live on this island? After all the lawsuits I was condemned to live here. I have no money, no more fame, nothing!"

"Except that," Chef gestured at the folder. "And no, it isn't the old cast. Most of them have families, lives, and plenty of money from victorious lawsuits."

"If you say the 'L' word one more time…" Chris growled before he realized something. "Wait, if it's not the old cast—"

"Get ready for some fresh meat," Chef couldn't help but grin. "Now come on, let's get this place back to classic Wawanakwa standards."

Author's Note: No more beating around the bush. I've decided to give it a go and write a SYOC competition story! I tried writing one a very long time ago, but, for lack of a better way of saying it, I was not a good writer back then. So, we're trying again! I'm going for a classic return to the island type feel and modeling it after the earlier seasons.

I'm not completely sure how many characters I want to accept yet, but I'm thinking around 18 (with balance between boys and girls). I will be happy to accept more depending on how many characters I get!

Rules:

Each person can submit up to 2 characters. I may accept 1, both, or none. Please respect my decision!

You CANNOT submit a character that has already appeared in other fanficitons. I want to keep things fresh!

All character submissions must be sent to be via PM. Any characters submitted in the reviews will be disregarded to keep it fair.

Please fill out the below SYOC application. You can be as detailed or vague as you want. Ultimately, they are your OCs but I will make my own creative decisions with them as we progress.

For any piece of the application that has a (1-10) range, 1 is the lowest and 10 is the highest. Please do not make your character incredible at everything, otherwise I am highly unlikely to accept them.
