AN EVENTFUL DAY

I woke up bright and early, well actually dark and early, because it was midnight. But hey, a little thing like that never killed anybody. I grabbed my sword and my backpack and head out for the woods. I had a lot to do today and decided that I would start off with a walk to clear my mind from all that was going on in life. Yesterday, Alyssa came back to camp. She said her mom got remarried while she was in camp last summer, Naturally Alyssa was furious. She stated that she just walked out the door and is not looking back. She was taking it pretty well though.

"After finding my clearing and settling down in a tree, I thought about calling Will, but decided not to, because well...it's kind of creepy to call someone at midnight just to say hi.
Finally after about five songs played on my IPod, I settled down.

"WHACK!" was the first the I heard after waking up, and a throbbing pain in my head was the first thing I felt. I looked up groggily and realized that I had fallen out of the tree and right where I was sleeping was a big, fat vulture looking thing. I groaned in annoyance as I realized that it pushed me off the branch.

I glared at it and debated whether or not I should throw my dagger at its head, or leave it. I choose the second choice because my aim is horrible with a dagger and I literally had 1 minute to get to breakfast before I was officially late. I quickly grabbed my backpack from the branch that I was on and ran through the woods.

I was just in time, as soon as I arrived in my space at the pavilion Chiron arrived. I sighed relieved. I did look kind of awkward though, because I had my backpack with me, but oh well. C'est la vie.

"Where we're you?" Asked Alyssa, as we sat down.

"Oh you know, the usual, sleeping in the woods" I replied.

"I should've guessed" she giggled, "While you were gone, you missed out on something though" she said in a sing-spongy voice, then gave me a mischievous grin.

I looked at her, confused, as we went to sacrifice our food to the gods. I poured half of my cereal into the fire, the gods would probably think I was being generous, but in reality, I was given too much, and I wanted to save most of my stomach space for pancakes...but the gods didn't need to know that.

As we sat back down, I realized Connor and Travis were being awfully quiet, and didn't have the usual; we're going to burn down your house and steal your car, look on their faces.

"What's up with them?" I asked Alyssa.

"Thats just the thing you missed out, Nico and I bet that they couldn't be perfect angels for a day, and if they win, we each have to give them something valuable."

"And if we win, which will probably happen, what will we get?" I asked her.

"It's undecided, but something good."

"So specific Alyssa," I said sarcastically

"Well there were so many things to choose from, we couldn't decided, but we will be deciding this afternoon"

"Cool, I'll be there."

Alyssa was about to reply when Chiron suddenly stamped his hooves.

"Attention all Campers," Chiron started, then looked at the hunters,"And hunters, the camp store will be closed for cleaning. So if you are in need of thermal underwear, or any winter supplies, please come to the Big House."

Everybody nodded, not particularly caring.

"You are all dismissed, please attend to your activities."

"Hey Analise!" I heard someone yell from behind, I gave my sparring dummy a quick slash in the stomach, them turned around. It was Nico.

"Yes?" I answered.

"We're choosing what we would want Travis and Connor to give us if they lost the bet, you coming?" He asked.

"Sure I'll be there in a sec" I said, putting away my sword and pushing the dummy to the side.

"So, what are the options?" I asked Nico, after I caught up to him.

"Well, the first one is they owe us all a favor. Second, they dress up like Aphrodite girls and parade around camp for a day." At the thought of that second one I giggled, Nico smiled, then continued,"Third, they give up their bunks for a week, and I think that's all, but they might be more"

"They all seem decent enough" I shrugged, as we walked off to the cabin.

"That's the perfect choice guys!" Alyssa said after we chose the first choice. We agreed that we could each make them do an embarrassing thing.

"I'll tell the guys later," she smiled.

We all agreed, then all of a sudden Nico remembered something and turned to me,"Hey Analise, remember when I was exploring the woods?" He asked.

"Yes," I nodded.

"I discovered this super awesome thing!"

"Cool," I said excited but curious as to what it was he was talking about.

"Come on, i'm gonna show you!" He said, grabbing my hand and pulling me out the door.

Alyssa giggled and I shrugged. I couldn't say no to Nico, he was like the little brother you always wanted. Also, I was curious as to what he found.

A little while after we walked out the door, we saw Connor and Travis run into the cabin laughing uncontrollably.

I wondered what was up with them, but Nico grabbed my hand and kept pulling me.

We were almost to the woods when Chiron trotted up to us. "Analise, Nico, I would like to show you something and see if you know anything about it," He said in a serious tone.

Nico let go my hand and we both nodded, curious and confused.

When we reached there. We were shocked and speechless, at least I was, Nico however, manage to stutter "Wow..."

I was just about to ask Chiron who did this when my phone started to vibrate, I discreetly checked who was calling. It was Will. I declined the call and focused my attention to what had happened.
