Second Chances

Have you forgotten about this story yet? No? Good, I didn't either!

Pabulover123: How should I respond? With thank you or with I'm sorry? :D

Redpony: If you can't wait, then you must've had a hell of a time waiting for 1 year!

Blackcatneko999 (Both reviews): It means a lot that you like how I write the story! Really!

In the author note of the last chapter, I said: 'But I'm pretty sure that the next chapter won't take THIS long to write.'. Lord. Just…Lord! 1.5 years of waiting, I must've tormented you guys! But I have to admit. This story just doesn't have a high priority on my list. Sorry for that.

This story still bears the T rating.

So, in a sh(...)storm of Mike X Zoey X Mal X OC X Sheep fics of varying quality (At least back when I wanted to upload this), here's chapter 3 of Second Chances!

Scott was on the train station a few days after he had received Dawn's response. Scott had taken a slight change in apparel choice as his usual choice of clothing had made him very recognizable with his fans, or whatever he was supposed to call them. To avoid them, he went along with green pants and a green short sleeved button shirt with slightly longer white sleeves underneath, along with a pair of sunglasses, just an extra measure to avoid being recognized.

Scott walked past a kiosk, and his eye directly fell on a Vague magazine with him on the cover surrounded by a pink background as the cover was headed; 'What's Scott going to do at Dawn's?'. Scott stopped walking and stared at the cover for a moment. [1]

''Buy it or leave it kid.'' The owner of the kiosk almost gruffly told Scott, the shopkeeper then stared at Scott's face for a moment. ''Do I know you?'' He curiously asked as he scratched his beard.

Scott, fearing that he might be recognized and drawing unwanted attention did his best to repress a panicked expression on his face. ''No, you don't!'' Scott hastily answered, failing to sound emotionless as Scott walked off in a near-reflex, leaving the shopkeeper confused.

''Chris really called the paparazzi, that scumbag. Always trying to suck the last drip of drama out of his cast. Even if they're not competing.'' Scott thought as he walked towards a bench that offered him a seat and put him out of the big picture while he still could oversee everyone and everything without himself being too much in the picture.

Then Scott heard the station's bell chime indicating that the announcer had something to so. ''The VIA Canada line to Saskatoon is set to leave in 1 minute from platform 5. I repeat, The VIA Canada line to Saskatoon is set to leave in 1 minute from platform 5.'' The female announcer called out after what felt like an eternity to Scott as he got up and ran towards his train. [2]

Scott had gotten on the train and found a seat. He put his bag down and stared out of the window when he remembered something Dawn said when she was still competing on Total Drama Vengeance.

''Looking back on it, it was more of a rush than an actual bond I had with him!'' Scott remembered Dawn laconically informing the viewing world from the TDV confessional. She seemed to regret saying that but it still hit Scott pretty bad. He was watching the episode with all the other contestants who were eliminated at that point in the competition. And he felt foolish, almost ashamed that he let a girl ruin his chance at the million.

''What am I doing? She doesn't want me anymore!'' Scott thought to himself as he shot up from his seat to leave the train and return home, but the doors closed right before him and the train began to move shortly after. Scott sighed in defeat and returned to his seat. ''There's no way back now. I'm going to pay the price for my stupidity.'' Scott mumbled, shaking his head a little before he stared out of the window

After several hours, the train had reached Dundee station.

''Well, here goes!'' Scott miserably whispered before he stepped off the train and went looking for Dawn's residence. After a few minutes of wandering through the small town, he found her house and stood in front of the fence.

Scott breathed in deeply before he stepped onto the path leading to the front door. Once reaching the door Scott's finger ran directly to the doorpost to ring a doorbell, but his finger only touched the wood where a doorbell once was. Scott's chuckled quietly. ''Typically environmentalists.'' Scott muttered. ''Saving electricity wherever they can.'' He continued in his head, relaxing a little. He knocked on the door and leaned against the doorpost.

''Now why do I even have to knock?'' Scott asked himself. ''They can sense that I'm standing right here!'' He answered his own question slightly snide. ''So what's the point of-'' Scott continued pondering while someone opened the door, interrupting his chain of thoughts. He realized that it might look rather unmannered to stand the way he leant against the doorpost, so he quickly stood upright before the person who opened the door could see him standing like that.

''Good morning Scott!'' Dawn kindly greeted him.

Right after Dawn greeted him, Scott lost his cool a little. ''Is it still morning?'' Scott asked a little nervous as he looked at his wrist. ''Oh, how stupid! I don't even wear a watch!'' Scott continued ever nervous.

Dawn giggled. ''Come in!'' She offered as she walked into her home.

Scott repeatedly punched his forehead with his hand palm as he walked in. ''Nice beginning you idiot!'' He mumbled chidingly as he closed the door behind him.

''I bet it's not your taste, but make yourself at home anyway!'' Dawn offered as she stretched her arms out to present her living room. Scott eyed all the Wicca things decorating the room, from pentagrams made out of sticks to dream catchers, it all seemed incredibly alien to him. But despite the odd decorations, it surprised him a little how it remained to be a familiar image of a typical living room after all.

''Come on, to the kitchen. There're some people I want you to meet!'' Dawn told Scott as she stepped towards the kitchen. Scott was slightly confused. He knew that Dawn's father wasn't around in her life. So he was wondering who this other person was Dawn wanted him to meet. Scott followed Dawn into the kitchen and jumped back a mile when he saw who Dawn meant. Cameron sat in Dawn's kitchen, typing on a laptop with a camera attached to it. Cameron seemed to be rather (Negatively) surprised of Scott's presence as well.

''What is he doing here?'' Scott and Cameron indignantly asked Dawn with the boys pointing at each other.

''Guys, please stay calm! You're all here for good reason!'' Dawn tried to calm the 2 down by standing in between them. ''Scott, I invited Cameron to help me with my charity auction!'' She explained

''Oh really?'' Scott suspiciously asked, glaring at Cameron.

''And Cameron, Scott and I already arranged a visit before you sent your offer!''

''Right…'' Cameron replied equally suspicious, lightly nodding his head as he glared back at Scott.

''Can I get you something to drink? Like Biological organic seaweed juice?'' Dawn suggested. The boys glared at each other before turning their head to Dawn.

''That'd be nice!'' Cameron politely answered.

''Sounds tasty!'' Scott replied at the same time. Dawn smiled and walked into the kitchen, as soon as she disappeared out of their sight, the boys butted their foreheads against each other.

''What do you think you're doing here twerp?'' Scott hissed at Cameron.

''Haven't you heard? I'm helping Dawn with her auction!'' Cameron offensively whispered back.

''And you believe that yourself?'' Scott responded.

'' What's your excuse for being here?''

Scott scratched the back of his head as he thought of a good answer. ''I uh…Wanted to reminisce about the good times!'' Scott unsurely answered.

''Ha!'' Cameron quietly laughed. ''At least I have a solid alibi to be here! Your reason sounds like it came out of a cheap romance novel!'' Cameron boastingly put down Scott, smiling degradingly at him.

''Listen up bug-eyes, you're not going to interfere with me and Dawn or else-'' Scott threateningly wheezed, butting heads with Cameron again.

''No, YOU don't interfere with us!'' Cameron boldly replied.

''Guys?'' Dawn confusedly asked the guys after seeing them with their foreheads against each other. She held a tray with 3 glasses filled with a thick, dark green fluid as she walked towards the table.

''I saw some dirt on Cameron's glasses and I had to get really close to show him where it was!'' Scott explained before he took a glass, casting a hateful look over at Cameron, who returned it.

''Okay…'' Dawn replied, feeling a little awkward. She took a glass herself and put the tray down. ''On us!'' Dawn toasted.

''On us.'' Scott and Cameron repeated before they all slammed down their juice. Dawn drunk it all in 1 go but Cameron and Scott had great trouble keeping it in.

''Tastes as good as I expected it to taste!'' Scott complimented. Scott was lying, he had never something as putrid tasting as this. With more of these beverages to come and with Cameron looking to claim Dawn, Scott realized that it was going to be even tougher to get Dawn back as he was expecting it to be.

Dawn, Scott and…Cameron? OMG plot twist!

[1] Vague is a pun on Vogue magazine. I don't know what kind of magazine it is, but I just liked the joke.

[2] I have a feeling that such large train networks don't stop in small towns like Dundee (It's not even a real town). But it's really convenient that it does here!

So, you've read through the chapter some of you have waited on for so long! How did it feel finally getting to read it?

Adding Cameron to the story was the result of a sporadic brainstorm. Imagine how many things can happen now he's here too!

That's all. For now, enjoy this chapter and hope that you don't have to wait so long on the next one!

;:D (I got a new emoticon!),
