AUTHOR'S PRE NOTE

Hey guys, Dreamer here.
I had this project in mind for a very long time, the world of Pokémon has always fascinated me, its mythology in particular, but also how it takes its cue from the real world to reimagine places, cities, and legends in a new light.

On the other hand, one of the many things that leave me frustrated every time is the lack of history and lore of this world, I mean yes, Game Freak will give us a bit of lore now and then, as it happened recently with the game of Legends Arceus, but let's say that not and never enough.

How are religions practiced in the Pokémon world?
Against which kingdom did that "ancient kingdom" go to war?
How did the relationship between Pokémon and humans develop?
Is man a descendant of Mew?
Has there ever been a major world event involving all regions of the world, such as a world war?

I will try to answer these and many other questions, (obviously unofficially it is still fanfiction after all) with this series that will narrate the history of each Pokémon region, from prehistoric times to the present day.

Having said that, get on the time machine with me and get ready for a journey across spacetime that will take us to the dawn of time, and we will visit ancient kingdoms, wars that change the course of history and meet historical characters and Pokemons whose names and deeds are still narrated till this day.
Nächster Halt, Kanto!

PREHISTORY

PRIMAL AGE

Beginning of the Primal Age (? - 70.000 BA)

More than 300.000.000 BA:

Groudon the Titan of the Continents, Kyogre the Titan of the Oceans, Rayquaza the Titan of the Sky, and Regigigas the Shaper Demiurge are born.

Soon after their birth, Groudon and Kyogre's eternal rivalry begins

Their struggle will end up creating and destroying continents and oceans.

300.000.000 BA:

After their first long battle, Kyogre and Groudon retreat into a lethargy that will last for millennials, only to wake up and continue their fight once again, and then after their forces were again all drowned, they return to their deep slumber.

They will wake up again after millions of years to continue their war.

They will keep on fighting, resting, fighting, and resting for mostly the entire Primal Age.

First appearance in the seas of prehistoric Pokémon like Omanyte, Kabuto, and Mew Zigota the cellular form of the Pokémon Novaspecies.

270.000.000 BA:

Omanyte, Kabuto, and Mew Zigota venture to the mainland, where they evolve to survive in the new habitat.

250.000.000 BA:

Groudon and Kyogre reawaken.

Most of the prehistoric Pokémon that still lived in the sea, like Kabuto and Omanyte, succumb to the catastrophic clashes between Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon, this event is the first wave of the Six Mass Extinctions of the Pokémon world.

The Pokémon that have settled on the mainland survived thanks to Regigigas' intervention.

Regigigas begins his titanic task of moving the continents, setting them in their current positions, a mission that took the giant Pokémon millions of years to accomplish.

218.000.000 BA:

Mew, the first rulers of the land and ancestors of today's humans, and the Monster Pokémon, Human-Like Pokémon, and Field Pokémon begin their mutations into different Pokémon.

The mutation factor of Mew was given by habitat, climate, nutrition, elemental affinity, mental affinity, and physical affinity.

The most important descendant of Mew is the Mewlopitecus, the ancestor of humans and Human-like Pokémon.

Around this time, Aerodactlys and other ancestors of the Flying-Dragon Pokémon also began to appear.

The kantonese ancestors of the Mineral Pokémon and the ancestor of the Grass Pokémon also appeared during this time.

150.000.000 BA:

By now the population of Mews has drastically declined as they have almost all mutated into other species of Pokémon, Mews disappeared from the terrestrial fauna, except for some specimens that took refuge in some remote islands of the Eastern Ocean and Western Ocean.

100.000.000 BA:

While the seas of Kanto and Johto were dominated by Kabutops and Omastars, the sky and the land were conquered by the Aerodactlys and the ancestors of the Flying-Dragon Pokémon.

80.000.000 BA:

The Omastars and Kabutops become extinct during the second wave of Mass extinctions, and their descendants the Water Pokémon 1,2,3 and the Bug Pokémon will rule the world in the years to come in their stead.

65.000.000 BA:

A mysterious cataclysm, still unsolved today, caused the sixth and last wave of mass extinctions, Aerodactyls and the ancestors of the Flying Pokémon, the ancestor of the Grass Pokémon, the ancestors of the Mineral Pokémon, and the ancestor of the Dragon Pokémon become extinct as well.

10.000.000 BA:

After yet another clash between each other, Groudon and Kyogre retreat once again into hibernation, and the long period of peace that followed allowed life to properly proliferate.

Mewlopitecus evolved into two different divided branches.

The evolutionary line Mewlopitecus Pokeminidae strengthens its elemental affinity, and they will give life to the Human-Like Pokémon.

The second evolutionary line is that of the Mewlopitecus Hominidae, which, to compensate for the loss of elementary control, had to find other creative ways to survive.

100.000 BA:

Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres a family of legendary Pokémon from elsewhere settle in Kanto and will become objects of legends and myths for the people of the region in the future.

ROCK AGE

70.000 BA:

First appearance of the Homo Sapiens in Kanto and Johto.

The oldest archeological evidence of human habitation has been dated around this time, and there were found in the caves on the Seafoam Islands.

End of the Primal Age

Beginning of the Rock Age (70.000 BA - 10.000 BA).

Regirock is created by Regigigas.

50.000 BA:

While most Homo Sapiens abandoned Kanto to spread across the world, the ones that remained formed the first communities of hunter-gatherers.

A series of meteorites fall to earth, and one of them crashes into the Unova region.

25.000 BA:

The first evidence of human civilizations was discovered in Sevii Archipelago's cave, the early humans likely arrived at the Sevii Archipelago by sea on Laprases.

Traces such as rock shelters, bones, stone tools, and pottery relics can be still found today on Knot Island's Mt. Ember and Fortune Island's Altering Cave.

One of these remaining, in particular, the Sevii Venus, a small rock sculpture representing (some researchers say) a primitive form of the Pokémon Jynx, was also found on Floe Island's Icefall Cave.

19.000 BA:

The Gamm people, an indigenous civilization of Kanto, created the first big settlements in eastern Kanto.

16.000 BA:

The population of the Magikarps, once a feared predator of the kantonese waters, underwent a mysterious mutation that caused them to become terribly weak, a state which they are still today

ICE AGE

10.000 BA:

End of the Rock Age.

Beginning of the Ice Age (10.000 BA - 8700 BA).

The world enters its only ice age, probably caused by the awakening of the Pokémon Boundary, Kyurem.

From the nearby region of Johto came the Alph people, the Alph used the Tohjo ice bridge (Tohjo Lake) that connected both the two regions to reach western Kanto, where they settled themselves.

The Pokémon of the evolution family of Growlithe and Ponyta become essential for the survival of the kantonese, the johtian, the sinnohans, and other ancient populations.

The Pokémon of the evolution family of Sandshrew (Polar Form) and Vulpix (Polar Form) spread in Kanto and Johto.

Regigigas creates Regice.

9000 BA:

A chain of volcanic eruptions that broke out around the world, together with the return of the hibernating of Kyurem, will later lead to the end of the Ice Age.

To survive the end of the ice age, the evolution families of Sandshrew and Vulpix adapt to the sudden climate change by abandoning their Ice type.

STEEL AGE

8700 BA:

End of the Ice Age.

Regigigas creates Registeel.

The Gamm and the Alph learn how to work the metal and the ceramic, thus passing from stone tools to iron tools, thus starting the Steel Age (8700 BA - 130 AA).

The ancient civilizations and Pokémon were saved by Regigigas and his Regis and they were helped to survive both the Ice Age and the volcanic eruptions thanks to his intervention.

The cult of the Regis spreads worldwide.

8000 BA:

In Kanto, the Steel Age takes the name of the Terracotta Period (8700 BA - 130 AA).

The culture of Terracotta develops in Kanto.

All around the region, tribal societies were guided by the authority of their respective tribal chiefs.

The tribes were mainly based on gathering, hunting, and fishing, but they laid the foundations for the agricultural development that would take place in the following period.

The Bet people, a sea-faring mercantile tribe settled on the Sevii Archipelago.

The Bet probably originated in the southern sea of Hoeen (either at Sootopolis Islands or Pacifidlog Islands), they will build the seven betian colonies on the Sevii Archipelago.

- Seri (One Island) on Knot Island

- Penpengusa (Two Island) on Boon Island

- Hahakogusa (Three Island) on Kin Island

- Kohakobe (Four Island) on Floe Island

- Koonitabirako (Five Island) on Chrono Island

- Kabu (Six Island) on Fortune Island

- Daikon (Seven Island) on Quest Island

Devoted to overseas commerce, they have also been to Sinnoh where they founded the colony of "Zonne" modern-day Nagisa (Sunyshore), and Johto, where they settled on the Whirl Islands and founded "Shutorudaru", today city of Tanba (Cianwood).

Regigigas exhausted, after using all his strength to help humans and Pokémon alike, exiles himself to Kissaki Temple (Snowpoint) where he hibernates himself.

5000 BA:

Cults related to Pokémon belonging to the evolution families of Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle were founded in Kanto.

The Bulbasaur family cult was practiced by tribes who dwelt in the hearts of the kantonese forests.

Venusaurs were essential in the spreading of agriculture in these communities.

While the cult of the Charmander family was practiced by some mountain folks, similar to the cults surrounding the Growlithe family, this cult was also born during the Ice Age, and it lasted even after the end of the glaciations.

In these mountain tribes, Charizards were used to move quickly between the mountains.

The cult of the Squirtle family belonged to coastal fisher tribes, and it was largely popular in the Sevii Archipelago as well.

The tribes that follow this cult were helped by the Blastoises in navigation and fishing.

These ancient cults survive today as legends and folk tales in the various rural villages of the region.

4000 BA:

Due to a plot hatched against the Regis by the humans (especially many tribal chiefs that feared their rivals could use the Regis to overthrow them), the temples and the idols related to the golem Pokémon were canceled and destroyed, and the Regi trios residing in Kanto and Johto were thrown into the sea as well, the cult of the Regis was banned all around the tribes in both region.

The cult of the Starters will eventually and individually replace the ancient religion of the Regis.

3000 BA:

The mystic tribe of the Moon people settles in the vicinity of Nibi (Pewter).

Probably originals from Mount Moon, this tribe disappeared very soon, probably assimilated by the other tribes of the region.

The only remaining shreds of evidence of these people's existence are only some ceremonial stones (including the famous Moonstones) and rock paintings of the Nido family.

The female counterpart in particular in these paintings seemed to have more religious importance than their male counterparts, probably because of their role as fertility goddesses.

Together with the tribe of the Moon, Fairy Pokémon like Chansey and Pikachu began to appear in the kantonese wilderness.

2000 BA:

Seri Asukana founds the Kingdom of Florabeta, which included the Sevii Archipelago, Cinnabar Island where they founded the city of "Zennoberroto" modern-day Gurren (Cinnabar), the colony of Zonne in Sinnoh, and the Whirl Islands.

Beginning of the Asukana dynasty, one of if not the longest and oldest monarchic dynasties in the world.

The florabetian civilization was dominated by a warrior aristocracy.

It was customary to bury the florabetian warriors who died in battle, mummified with a golden mask, in halls in which they were then sealed.

The famous gold mask and mummy of Seri Asukana date back to this period, the well-preserved mummy of the monarch and his golden mask were founded in his tomb near the Tanoby Chambers.

The warrior kings in the florabetian society were known by the epithet of

Bet-A-Kenihh.

The Linear Beta script was invented, preceding the Tanobic alphabet, which use will later be extended throughout the whole of Kanto.

The Epsilo, a mysterious civilization from the northwestern part of the Eastern Ocean beyond Johto, settles in Kanto and Johto, the Epsilo have brought with them numerous technological innovations in the field of agriculture, metallurgy, weaving, and handicrafts.

Glass, rice, bronze mirrors, agricultural tools, silk, and many other products were imported into Kanto, which led to an increase in the population and improvement of life.

The Gamm culture, mixing with the Epsilo, the Alph residing in eastern Kanto, and the florabetians in southern Kanto, gives life to the Kirushe civilization, ancestors of the Sakura kantonese people.

The Florabetian War (300 BA - 298 BA) was fought in the hope of breaking the florabetian expansionism in Kanto.

The kantonese Shikokus, led by the Shikoku of Masara (Pallet) formed a confederation with the aim of defeating the mighty Laprax-A-Kenihh fleet, which was responsible for the countless florabetian naval victories.

The kantonese alliance succeeds with the sacrifices of many and with the support of the alphian city-states, in defeating the feared Laprax-A-Kenihh fleet, repelling the invaders.

After being freed from the florabetians, the city of Fukushinrotto was renamed Sekichiku (Fuchsia).

In order to not lose the divine authority that his grandmother had, Fuji built the Ubameist Temple of Nibi (one of the Ancient Wonders of the World) and founds Ubameism an animist religion that worshiped his ancestor's mythical Pokémon.

He proclaimed himself the Great Priest of the Ubameist Temple and became also a religious leader.

The Ancient Era in the Florabetian Kingdom was represented by the Ancient Tanobic culture, which succeeded the Proto - Tanobic culture.

The Tanobic culture was influenced by both the alphian and the Sakura cultures.

The Sevii Archipelago was also a meeting point for different eastern cultures, apart from the relicts of johtian and kantonese origin, shards from Hoenn and ancient coins from Sinnoh and Chengdu were also exhumed by archeologists on the various islands of the Sevii Archipelago.

Beginning of the War of Faiths (565 - 571)

571 AA:

End of the War of the Faiths

These periods of disasters would last for up to ten long years.

Military expeditions against these powerful Pokémon have all resulted in failures.

747 AA:

Exhausted, the three legendary birds return to their hibernation, the empire tries to recover from the blow, but a pest epidemic sweeps the region, decimating many.

Emperor Kitahotake, fearing a revolt by the starving masses or a coup by the military, signs two peace treaties between the Alphian Empire and the Florabetian Kingdom, giving them parts of his empire.

Masara (Pallet) will be surrendered to the Alph Empire, while Murasakino (Lavender) will be handed over to Florabeta.

The florabetian sailors and soldiers will be responsible for the Shion Massacre, this is only the first of events that made this city notorious.

After securing peace with the neighboring nations, Kitahotake will use this period of peace to improve the country's infrastructures and rebuild the country shaken economy, supported by the soranist monks who became a more wealthy and important class than they were before, second in importance only to the emperor court caste.

Eriko under her father's advice convinces emperor Naka to move the imperial capital to the city of Aoi (Celadon), which will be renamed Tamamushi.

This move was made to weaken the power of the priestly caste that had its seat in Tokiwa (Viridian).

This marked the end of the Tokiwa period and the beginning of the Tamamushi period, thus passing from the classical period to the medieval feudal era.

End of the Tokiwa Period, and the classical age.

Beginning of the Tamamushi Period, and the medieval age

(828 AA - 1261)

MEDIEVAL AGE

TAMAMUSHI PERIOD

Unbeknownst to Kanto and Florabeta, the nobles of Alephipolis and the pirate captain of the Chubarosu, Sameyasha, reached an agreement in which he could lord over the Eastern Ocean without any repercussions by the alphian fleet, as long as he paid them a percentage of the stolen goods often plundered from the florabetian ships.

Sameyasha becomes a privateer for the Alphian empire.

910 AA:

The author of this series of poetry, Maguma recounted his days spent with the Pokémon that inhabited Cinnabar Island.

The last poems in the series, in particular, described a mysterious Pokémon never seen before by the author, a pink long-tailed Pokémon, that Maguma saw in the forest near his hometown, while the mysterious Pokémon was playing with some Baby Pokémon.

The poem is regarded by many researchers as the first written record of the mystical Pokémon Mew.

Emperor Ontake under the leadership of the Rainbow Shogun Purizumu Niji declares war on the Chikyu clan and orders the Take clan to oppose them as well.

The Sanda and the Numachi clans, side instead with the newborn shogunate of the west.

The First Kantonese Civil War begins (1160 - 1165)

Political power formally passes to the military, and the Sakura Fuji dynasty completely loses all governmental authority over the region, remaining thus only a ceremonial and figurative symbol.

Zeren Tamashi allies himself with Puruzimu Niji.

1161:

Severe wildfires caused by Moltres will bring a famine upon Kanto, thus exacerbating the dramatic situation in Kanto.

The Niji are ousted from their political role.

A military coalition is established, between the Chikyu, the Sanda, the Numachi, and the Kesseki.

Ferusu Kesseki, the Boulder general, is declared, Boulder Shogun by the new military council.

1169:

Erude Chikyu winner of the civil war, attempts to seize both the position as Shogun and emperor, his ambitions were stopped by the coalition, and Erude was later forced into committing seppuku.

The Chikyu clan, accused of treason, fell from grace and ended up losing their city Tokiwa (Viridian) and their possessions, which all temporary passes to the Kesseki, the lasting members of the Chikyu turn to criminality to survive.

1190:

Ferusu uses the influence of the emperor Nishinotori (personally groomed by him), to limit the power of the various bureaucrats and ministers.

He establishes the florabetian feudal system, and abolishes slavery, he divides the various fiefdoms among his generals, who then divide their villages among their samurais.

The political power was centered among the various shogun clans, with the exclusion of the defeated clans like the Tamashi, the Chikyu, the Take, and the Niji.

1199:

Ferusu Kesseki dies, and Dona Sanda is elected Thunder Shogun.

1209:

1252:

The First Kanto - Johtian War breaks out (1252 - 1261)

The samurai armies were mobilized to face the invasion of the alphian army launched by emperor Kubota Shiro.

Despite the numerical advantage and superior military technology of the alphians, the kantonese samurai fought against their enemies with courage and stood their ground.

Despite everything, however, the kantonese effort was useless as the alphian emperor Kubota, controlled the two legendary Pokémon Ho-oh and Lugia, with which he destroyed the samurai army and fleet.

Within a year, the western part of the region was subjugated to the Heavenly Empire.

Occupation of Masara (Pallet)

1253:

Occupation of Tokiwa (Viridian) and Nibi (Pewter)

Occupation of Sekichiku (Fuchsia)

1261:

Occupation of Tamamushi (Celadon) and Hanada (Cerulean).

The alphian army conquers the capital Tamamushi (Celadon).

Emperor Senjo flees into exile to the neutral Florabeta.

The Marsh Shogun and Master Kunoichi, Sanpufu Numachi, remained in the capital instead and fought till her death against the invaders with her Nidoqueen.

With the fall of the capital Tamamushi (Celadon), the entire Kanto was occupied.

Kanto was incorporated into the Heavenly Alphian Empire.

Kanto was once again divided into four provinces, and four noble johtian families were put in charge of the region, the Kori, a clan from the northern city of Choji (Mahogany), the Arashi clan from the island of Tanba (Cianwood), the mysterious Kiri clan from Enju (Ecruteak) and the descendant of the hoennic Draconid people, the Ryuu clan from Fusube (Blackthorn).

The invasion of the Alphian Empire brings an end to the Tamamushi Period.

Beginning of the Sengoku Period (1261 - 1600)

SENGOKU PERIOD

1282:

Death of the emperor Kubota, his son prince Marugume Shiro is crowned emperor of the Heavenly Alphian Empire.

For a short period, the capital of the Alphian Empire was transferred to Tamamushi (1282 - 1292) in order to strengthen the imperial influence in Kanto.

The same did his grandfather, emperor Itami, previously with the region of Chengdu.

1304:

The alphian emperor Kubota Shiro forces a political marriage between his daughter Oshi and one of the many heirs of the Cherry Blossom throne, Norikura Sakura Fuji, thus tying the two families together, from the Shiro and Sakura Fuji union, the new Shiro Fuji family was founded, the Shiro Fuji will side the Shiro imperial family in the governance of Kanto.

The exiled heir and first in line for the throne of Kanto, prince Tate did not acknowledge the new monarchs, and he mocked it by appealing to it as a "farce dynasty" built by the Shiro clan to delegitimize the true rulers of Kanto.

The Ubameist Temple of Tokiwa sided with the Sakura Fuji, while the soranist grand monk Serio and the rest of the priestly caste acknowledges the rule of the Shiro Fuji.

1314:

The clans of johtian origin acquired the title of Daimyo clan, and as time passes these four families, will impose their political power at the expense of the imperial authority, relegating the Shiro Fuji as only a symbolic figure, similarly to how the shogun clans did with the Sakura Fujis.

1319:

The alphian occupation brought with it many innovations in the fields of technology, agriculture, military, and craftsmanship.

After the invasion, Kanto enters a period of brief peace and prosperity.

(Pax Kantonese)

Despite the period of peace, in many parts of the region, there have been uprisings against the alphian occupation, organized and led by the various kantonese shoguns and warrior clans who have never surrendered to the newly established order.

The Heavenly Alphian Empire consistently and regularly repressed and snuffed these insurgencies in the bud before they could expand throughout the region.

Not all repressions were successful, in some villages and rural towns the samurai rebels established warring city-states called Sengokus.

The two most important Sengoku at the time were the Sengoku of Masara (Pallet) and the Sengoku of Shion (Lavender).

1390:

The riots in Shion's Sengoku were bloodily subjugated by an alphian punitive expedition.

The repression will later be remembered as the Burning of Shion, given that the method of execution used by the alphians was to burn the villagers with their fire type Pokémon.

1398:

The exiled heir to the throne, Hijiri was the first member of the Sakura Fuji family to return to Kanto after a century of exile.

He will seek aid and refuge in the Sengoku of Sekichiku.

1406:

An epidemic of flying plague (a typical bacterium that inhabited Zubats) severely hits the regions of Kanto and Johto, killing over 761.000 humans and Pokémon.

There was also an epidemic of flying plague on Koonitabirako (Five Island) on Chrono Island in the Florabetian Kingdom, the island was promptly quarantined by the florabetian army and psychic Pokémon, thus avoiding a spread to the rest of the archipelago.

1424:

Starting from the Sengoku of Sekichiku (Fuchsia) controlled by the Master Shinobi Parude Numachi, the descendant of the Marsh Shogun Sanpufu, Hijiri will begin a slow reconquest of the region.

1445:

Beginning of the second Johto - Kantonese War (or Kantonese Zenith War) (1445 - 1600).

1455:

The clashes in Tamamushi (Celadon) between the rebels and the imperial army cause the destruction of the city.

The royal family is moved to Hanada (Cerulean) and the city is made the new imperial capital.

1474:

During the Zenith War, Kanto was the scene of intense persecution of ubameist and regibetian believers, by the Heavenly Inquisition.

1497:

In 1497 between 300 and 400 kantonese, were executed in Tokiwa alone.

1500:

At the beginning of the 15th century, the Heavenly Alphian Empire introduced the Aprispheres, devices capable of capturing Pokémon, the Aprispheres were made using the aforementioned fruit, and they are the ancestors of the modern Pokeballs.

Since its invention, the Alphian empire had made extensive use of these new objects, especially in wars, to move their Pokémon armies as quickly as possible.

Two florabetian monks, who were on a pilgrimage to Johto, will return home with some apricot seeds and several kidnapped apricots artisan.

In reality, the two monks were nothing more than spies at the service of the florabetian king Hotokenoza Asukana, who wanted to get a hold of the secrets of apricots.

This marks the beginning of the commerce of florabetian apricots, which the kingdom will later sell to other eastern kingdoms (especially to the various kantonese Sengokus) and the soon-to-arrive northerners.

This gave Florabeta the monopoly on the sales of Aprispheres, as the Heavenly Alphian Empire, fearing that the other kingdoms could have used them for war purposes as well, decided to keep their making a secret.

1507:

Florabeta besieges and reconquers Boon Island (Two Island) bringing an end to the Pirate Nation of New Kinagi.

1523:

13/6 Primarini The arrival of the northerners in the Eastern Ocean and Kanto is dated around 1522 and 1523.

The first northerners to set foot in the region were kalosian merchants.

The kalosian introduced the first firearms to Kanto and the Sevii Archipelago, which have since then been used in the wars fought in the region.

Along with the firearms, the kalosian introduced Pokémon fighting tools, which improved the fighting performance of Pokémon.

The kalosian missionaries also introduced Tokuism Arceus religion, first in the Sevii Archipelago and then in Kanto.

The missionaries also introduced northerner scientific knowledge in the region.

1527:

The tokuist missionary Cassius Crocea reaches Seri (One Island).

The kalosian navigator and priest, Cassius Crocea, drew the first map of Kanto known to the northerners in with he erroneously called Kanto, Kansai, thus in the early years, Kanto was often called Kansai by the northerners, and that's how it was known in the northern regions too.

Cassius also translated the first kalosian to florabetian dictionary, and he also translated the first kalosian to kantonese dictionary and the first kalosian to johtian dictionary.

1532:

The florabetian queen Suzuna was the first florabetian ruler to convert to tokuism.

Fearful of the new religion, the regibetian high priest fomented revolts against the queen in the capital, Daikon (Seven Island), forcing her to abdicate in favor of her uncle Nazuna II, more in line with the values of the Cloyster of the Dotted Crypt.

1550:

The first port trading station for northerners was founded in Kuchiba (Vermilion).

1555:

The Diocese of Kuchiba (Vermilion) is established and the first kantonese tokuist are ordained.

1560:

Fuya Akai, known as "Akaitaro" and later on as "Nobunaga", was the young prodigy prince of the little Sengoku of Masara (Pallet).

Fuya had a Charmander as his partner Pokémon, called Akairyu.

Akaitaro became the shogun of Masara's Sengoku (Pallet Town), after his return from his journey to the Whirl Islands with the legendary Diving Pokémon Lugia to his service.

Akaitaro became renowned for his strategic leadership and tenacity.

He used the tokuist believers to create havoc in the cities and revolt against the imperial established order, he also forged strong trade relations with the kalosian arms dealers and the florabetian aprispheres merchants, the aprispheres were essential to transport his Pokémon army, and he often used the Bird Trio to wipe out his opponents.

Akaitaro emerges victorious from the naval battle of Cinnabar Island, defeating a naval force many times his size led by the charismatic daimyo, Sei Ryuu.

Akaitaro together with his son Furamu Akai subjugates the legendary Pokémon Kasai (Firestorm, the ancient name used for the Pokémon Moltres)

The Ryuu and the Shimo daimyo families decide to side with Akaitaro, causing the Alphian Nobility Schism.

1570:

Akaitaro was defeated by the daimyo Kanpufu Arashi of the western province, in the battle of Tokiwa Forest, Akaitaro was forced to lead his army on a retreat toward the newly seized Gurren (Cinnabar) to escape capture.

1571:

The newly founded tokuist community in Kuchiba (Vermilion) reaches 350,000 believers.

1581:

Akaitaro begins the Seafoam campaign, in which by allying himself with the Sengoku of Sekichiku (Fuchsia) he defeats the alphian troops in southern Kanto.

Akaitaro together with his son Furamu Akai subjugates the legendary Pokémon Fubuki (Blizzard, known nowadays as Articuno)

1585:

Akaitaro recaptures the old kantonese capital city, Tamamushi (Celadon).

Akaitaro forces win the Battle of Hanada (Celestial City)

Akaitaro and Furamu successfully capture Raiu (Thunderstorm, the ancient name of the Pokemon Zapdos)

After uniting the Bird Trio, Furamu became the master of the three.

1587:

Akaitaro's army liberates the town of Shion (Lavender), after defeating the Kiri clan's troops.

Nobunaga's forces win the Battle of the Indigo Plateau finally defeating their archenemies the Arashi daimyo clan, Kanpufu was killed during the battle.

1590:

09/4 Sylveoel Akaitaro was killed during the Battle of the Tohjo Waterfall, where he tried to stop the alphian reinforcement troops from accessing Kanto through the Tohjo River.

1595:

The evolution family of Charmander was one of the most used Pokémon in Kanto among the major warring clans, as Charmander upon reaching maturity, evolved into the fearsome Charizard, which were used in wars as an incinerator of villages, farm, and enemy troops.

One of Akaitaro's strategies to win the Zenith war was to capture as many Charmander as possible in the wilderness of the island of Gurren (Cinnabar) and around Sekichiku Hills (Fuchsia City), the ancient habitat of this Pokémon.

The Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard who did not belong to the Akai clan were exterminated by Akaitaro's own orders in the hope of not leaving these formidable beasts in enemy hands.

Because of this reason, Charmander's evolution family went completely extinct in Kanto, except for a hundred specimens kept and bred in captivity by the Akai clan first, then by the Aoi clan and Midori royal family later, and finally by the kantonese League, which confers the status of Starter Pokémon, to the evolution family of Charmander.

The kantonese Charmanders were, however, the most fortunate, in other parts of the world for the reasons mentioned above and other more cultural ones, the Charmander evolution family were hunted to extinction, in the Northern Ocean regions, for example, Charizard was associated with a more demonic and infernal icon and there are countless works of art where the hero defeated and kills a menacing and ferocious Charizard with a spear.

1600:

After the death of Fuya Akai, he was promptly succeeded by his son Furamu Akai who will be proclaimed Nobunaga.

By the beginning of the 17th century, he resends the last Alphian troops back across the Tohjo River, ending the two-century-long war.

End of the Second Johtian - Kantonese War.

After becoming Nobunaga, Furamu has the pretenders to the imperial throne Tsurugi Sakura Fuji and Shipu Shiro Fuji arrested and secretly assassinated.

Then he establishes a military oligarchy with his shoguns and daimyos.

The Sengokus replace their provinces.

Furamu introduces the Cult of the Titanic Birds, a cult that idolizes the three Legendary Birds, him and his father.

The Edict of Masara introduces freedom of worship to Kanto, but only tokuism was not included, as it was regarded as being a dangerous and barbaric religion.

End of the Sengoku Period

Begins the Akai Period (1600 - 1705)

AKAI PERIOD

1692:

Furamu dies, and his son Guratto Akai becomes the new Nobunaga.

1697:

31/12 Delibirdre Mass persecution against the tokuism believers in Kuchiba (Vermilion) and Shion (Lavender), many are executed, these mass persecutions are remembered as the Martyrdom of the Kantonese Tokuist.

1698

21/4 Sylveoel After the death of Furamu Akai, the Legendary Birds, and Lugia abandoned his successor Guratto, as they did not consider him worthy of their power.

The shogun of the Tamashi clan, Ame Tamashi, and the leader of the newly founded daimyo clan of the Aoi, Wassa Aoi, seeing the opportunity, both began planning for the fall of the Akai clan.

Both clans were historical allies of the Akai.

1700:

The descendant of the johtian daimyos clans swore allegiance to the Aoi and the Tamashi.

- A branch family of the Shimo become the Kori clan and move to Sekichiku (Fuchsia).

- The kantonese branch of the Arashi abandons the johtian name to adopt a new one, thus becoming the Kakuto clan, and they move to Tokiwa (Viridian)

- The Kiri secondary lineage moves to Shion (Lavender), adopting the name Yurei.

- The kantonese Ryu clan was the only daimyo clan to hold on to their name and a relationship with the original johtonese clan, they moved to Gurren (Cinnabar)

1705

19/8 Torkoleo Ame Tamashi and Wassa Aoi, together with their daimyo allies, overthrow the Nobunaga Gurrato in the Battle of Tamamushi Hill after which Wassa Aoi proclaims himself Nobunaga, Ame instead takes the role of Soul Shogun, and they restore the exiled pretender to the imperial throne, Suisho Sakura Fuji.

Wassa and Ame, move the capital from Tamamushi (Celadon) to their castle in Kiiroi (Saffron), where the future capital city of Kanto was built.

End of the brief Akai Period and the medieval age.

Beginning of the Kiiroi - Aoi Period and consequentially Kanto's early modern age (1705 - 1846)

MODERN AGE

KIIROI PERIOD

1707:

The Yamabuchi period saw a period of centralization of power in the hands of a hereditary Nobunagafu that took control of the region, totally relegating the emperor to a merely symbolic role and devoid of any effective power.

Regulation of the internal economy, subordination of the nobility, and the establishment of a bureaucratic system.

Establishment of a national judicial system, and suppression of protests and criticism.

Despite the continued oppression of freedom, the Aoi era brought peace and with it, prosperity.

13/5 Swellor To legitimize his accession to the throne, Wassa Aoi, a descendant from a peasant family, has for him fabricated a false document that recognized him as a descendant of the Nobunaga Akaitaro, the document reported (falsely) that Wassa's grandfather, Rigan Aoi was the son of Akaitaro and his concubine, Kueru Aoi.

This document will go down in history as the Noble Certificate.

Founding of the Kantonese School of Kiiroi and the Grand Temple of Trinity in Kiiroi (Saffron).

1710:

Dawn Port Incident in Kuchiba (Vermilion), where three kalosian merchants shoot five Kantonese samurai to save two kantonese tokuists who were being beaten to death by the samurai.

After the incident, Wassa release the edict of Sekichiku, which forced the expulsion of every kalosian from Kuchiba (Vermilion).

Over 500 kalosian that were living in Kuchiba (Vermilion) were expelled.

1716:

After being expelled from Kanto, the kalosian merchants sought new ports to continue their business in the east.

After reaching an agreement with the florabetian king Suzushiro Asukana, the kalosian merchants obtain permission to found their own colony on Floe Island (Four Island).

The kalosian settlers found Nouvelle Yantreizh (New Shalour), this colony will be used as a trade port for northern goods and eastern resources.

1720:

The society in Kanto was divided into four distinct groups:

At the top of the pyramid stood the emperor and the imperial family, followed by the higher samurai class the shogun clans, the members of the daimyo clans, and the Nobunaga (the true holders of power in the country).

Under them were the lesser samurai class, who included all the other members belonging to the army, and the priestly caste.

At the bottom end, were the villagers, the farmers, the artisans, and the merchants.

Outside the pyramid belonged disliked members of the kantonese society, like; prostitutes, criminals, servants, beggars, and disgraced samurai (Ronin).

The trades in Kuchiba (Vermilion) were tightly controlled by the government.

In Tokiwa (Viridian) a criminal organization that smuggled northern goods was founded, the Taiho group, its founder Suero, was a descendant of the disgraced clan of the Chikyu.

1728:

27/6 Primarini In an attempt to legitimize their power in the eyes of the kantonese samurais and nobility, the Aoi clan tried to subjugate once again the legendary Titanic Birds, but each of their military expeditions always ended in failure.

The last of these expeditions, the one against the Pokémon Moltres ended in provoking a huge firestorm and causing an environmental disaster.

After this disaster, the Aoi abandoned the project of recapturing the three legendary flying types Pokémon.

1750:

The Second Civil War had considerably weakened Kanto.

The recently ascended to power, the Aoi feared being overthrown by an internal revolt or external intervention.

Furusu Aoi decided to pursue a policy of political marriages, first with the Sakura Fuji and the various daimyos and shoguns clans in Kanto, then with the Asukana in Florabeta, and the Shiro Fuji and some other noble families from Hoeen and Sinnoh as well.

This led many members of the Aoi clan to hold positions of prestige in politics, not only in Kanto but also in the other Eastern Ocean kingdoms.

Among these marriages, there was one that was not of political significance, but no less important, and it was the marriage between Miru Aoi, granddaughter of Furusu, and Shigeru Okido, a prominent member of the prestigious clan of researchers and philosophers.

1751:

Mass religious persecutions between 1751 and 1753 against the tokuist believer broke all over Kanto once again.

1755:

8/1 Abomasnor Oushan Aoi son of Suzuna II Asakusa the hereditary princess of the Florabeta kingdom and the Nobunaga Furusu Aoi.

After Furusu's death, Oushan became the new Nobunaga, and after the death of both his mother Suzuna and grandfather Suzushiro, he advanced claims to the florabetian throne.

The florabetian nobles, formerly reluctant to surrender the throne to a kantonese ruler, were eventually persuaded to avoid a war with the Kantonese Empire.

Oushan changed his name to Ominaeshi Aoi - Asukana, uniting the two families, and he assumed the title of both Nobunaga of Kanto and King of Florabeta.

This led many clans to fear and distrust the Aoi Clan and its accumulation of power, and many political opponents and detractors of the Aoi accused them of even wanting to replace the Sakura Fuji by taking complete control of the region.

1768:

Kanto, under Ominaeshi, invaded the hoennic Kingdom of Kanazumi (Rustboro) which controlled the western part of Hoenn.

This was a way to put a stop to the total kalosian and galarian conquest of the region, the two northern empires invaded the eastern part of Hoenn after declaring war on the Kingdom of Eastern Hoeen.

Ominaeshi wanted to put a stop to the scramble of the Eastern Ocean regions that was taking place between the northern powers.

To counter the foreign invaders, Kanto, Johto, and Chengdu signed a military alliance against the northern empires.

The Aoi arose as protectors of the eastern regions, thus legitimizing their immense political power.

1770:

In an attempt to halt the advance of the northern empires once and for all, the Eastern Alliance declares war on the Galar Empire and Kalosian Empire who were advancing towards Johto and Kanto.

The Eight Years War begins (1770 - 1778) the war was fought mainly in Sinnoh, Chengdu, and Hoenn on several occasions.

Nouvelle Yantreizh (Island Four) was invaded by the kantonese fleet, and the kalosian colonizers were decimated by the kantonese Pokémon attacks.

1778:

The war ended after the naval battle of Asagi (Olivine), where both sides suffered heavy losses.

The war ended with the signing of the Equal Treaties between Johto, Kanto, Galar, Kalos, and Chengdu.

Sinnoh like Hoeen was divided into five parts each, and they were shared with the various kingdoms and empires.

Kanto was able to keep Kanazumi (Rustboro) and in addition, it was given the southeastern part of Sinnoh, to be precise the kingdoms of Mio (Canalave), Kotobuki (Jubilife), and Kurogane (Oreburgh).

Despite the so-called victory of the Kantonese Empire (by the Aoi - Asukana), the war was very expensive for Kanto and many samurais and soldiers were never fully paid.

This had permanent negative consequences for the Nobunagafu's relations with the lesser samurai class.

Many others felt betrayed (especially their sinnohans and hoennics allies) when the same ruling class, that "fought to drive out the northern barbarians" ended up negotiating the division of the Eastern Ocean with them.

The discontentment with the lack of compensation coupled with a distrust of the Aoi clan proved decisive in ending the Nobunagafu of the Aoi almost a century later.

1780:

The catch records of kantonese commercial fishermen in the early 1780s show that up to 3,000 kantonese Squirtle and Wartortle, were caught at the turn of the century.

The overhunting dramatically decreased the number of Squirtle in Kanto.

To compensate for the economic crisis that hit the Kantonese Empire under the Aoi - Asukana regency, the coastal communities, began large-scale huntings of the evolution family of kantonese Squirtle.

The kantonese Squirtle were coveted for their shell and their oily organs, useful for oil lamps and medicines.

Some unovian poachers captured, kantonese Squirtle only to sell them to circuses passing them off as Tirtougas, (ancient extinct Pokémon probable ancestors of the Squirtle themselves)

The hunting of the kantonese Squirtles and Wartotles ended in the early 1800s when there were no more of these Pokémon to hunt.

The deaths of the last kantonese Blastoises of the imperial navy (all males, by the way) led to the extinction of the evolution family of kantonese Squirtle.

During the 1900s, kantonese marine biologists attempted to reintroduce the evolution family of Squirtle into the kantonese marine fauna.

They started by capturing all johtian Squirtles and Wartortles from the Whirl Islands and releasing them on the beaches of the Seafoam Gulf, the ancestral habitat of the now extinct kantonese Squirtle.

The experiment went poorly, as not only did the forcible removal of the johtian Squirtles lead to an imbalance of the marine fauna of the Whirls Sea, but the forceful reintroduction did not go as planned as the johtian Squirtles were not able to adapt to the new habitat and the predators.

The few Squirtles still alive were then recaptured and bred in captivity, today they have the status of Starter Pokémon and they are delivered to novice trainers.

For the damage caused to their region, the johtian scientific community has repeatedly denounced the government and the scientific community of Kanto, still today the Squirtle Question is one of the causes of tensions between the two eastern regions.

1801:

First sighting of Cleffa's evolution family in Kanto.

The sighting of these Pokémon was linked to the mystery of the Bowl Ship Incident.

In Nibi's Sengoku (Pewter), three strange people were spotted near what looked like a ship, near Mt. Moon.

According to the testimonies report, the three were dressed unusually and bizarrely "They were more ridiculous than the white barbarians." testify one of the merchants that saw them.

They were described to have a rather pale, almost white complexion.

The three remained at Mt. Moon for three days before disappearing as they appeared.

The historic community still struggles today in finding an answer to what happened, while the community of ufologists explains it has been one of the countless encounters between ancient civilizations and extraterrestrial visitors.

1817:

Failed kantonese invasion of Muro Island (Dewford)

1831:

30/4 Sylveoel A brief battle against the unovian eastern fleet of the commodore Robert Surge, with his "Basculin Ships", ended with the defeat of the kantonese fleet.

Robert will force the Nobunaga Susuki to sign an unequal treaty, in which the important florabetian trade maritime route was ceded to Unova.

This loss aggravates the already precarious situation of Kanto.

The inability of the Nobunagafu to oppose the western and northern powers infuriated countless samurais and soldiers.

1840:

17/12 Delibirdre The kantonese ambassador Bareno Niji sets sail for Driftveil, leading to the first kantonese diplomatic mission to Unova.

9/1 Abomasnor Ambassador Bareno arrives in Driftveil with the delegation, marking the first kantonese official visit to a non-eastern foreign state.

1845:

29/4 Sylveoel The imperial princess Minamikoma, inspired by the deeds of the Nobunaga Akaitaro, will later abandon the imperial family to set out in search of the three legendary birds.

During her journey, she will be helped by her personal samurais Akane, Aoisuke, and the ronin, Buritsu Kiiromaru.

The three were very interested in northern-western culture, modernization, and democracy.

Despite Aoisuke's death, the rest managed to complete the mission, capturing the three Legendary Pokémon, Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos.

Minamikoma and the others will then head to Sekichiku (Saffron), where they will join the revolting samurai of Sekichiku and Gurren, with whom they will fight the very short but decisive Battle of Kiiroi.

The Taiho group, under their boss Sando, also rallies behind the young princess.

1846:

1/11 Treevenantio After the victory of princesses Minamikoma and the samurai army, the last Nobunaga Kikyou Aoi - Asukana, resigns from her role, and so does the emperor Sannosawa, who gives the imperial throne to his niece Minamikoma.

Akane died during the war, Buritsu Kiiromaru the only survivor of the princess's personal guard, will later become the advisor of the new empress, and the first prime minister of Kanto.

The Nobunagufu was abolished.

Minamikoma ascended to the Cherry Blossom throne and changed her name to Konoha Midori, in an attempt to modernize the ancient royal family.

Beginning of the New Imperial Period, or Midori Period (1846 - 1950)

The kantonese feudal system is replaced with a new bourgeoisie-oriented system.

MIDORI PERIOD

1847:

17/9 Politoedal The kantonese constitution is signed, and Kanto becomes a constitutional monarchy.

1848:
