Green recalled his Pokemon. Rachell bowed and recalled hers as well. 'This was an amazing fight. Thank you very much,' Red jumped up and put his Pokemon back in their Pokeballs. He nodded at Green, so the brunet shook Rachell's hand and followed Red as he walked past the trainer school.
Green: Hey, did you get what she was talking about?
Red: hmm?
Green: I mean, the stuff she was teaching the children. Did you knew?
Red: No, I never consider the stats of my opponents. I just hope to win by good luck and trust in my Pokemon.
Green: Hmm.. These kids probably know more than the both of us..
Red: I guess..
Green: ... Leaf? We run into you once more.
Leaf: Huh? Oh, hey guys!
Green: What are you doing?
Leaf: Come up here! You have a view on the next couple of routes!
Green: Why would I want to see that? I can see the view just by walking past them..
Leaf: No, that's not the point! Come up here, you stubborn ass!
Green: [Sighs] Okay, okay. Because you're pretty I will...
Red: .. !
Leaf: Isn't that one of those guys that were blocking all towns?
Green: He is ..
Leaf: Looks like he's spraying something on those plants..
Green: Eh? .. Spraying something on plants?
Sapphire: NO WAY !
G/L/R: ?!
Sapphire: JUST WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!
Grunt: [looks up]
Sapphire: Don't you know Pokemon need those berries to feed their young?!
Green: Sapphire?
Sapphire: Not now, Green! I have to deal with this guy!
Green: What the?
Sapphire: I, SAPPHIRE, CHAMPION OF THE HOENN REGION, HEREBY ASK YOU TO STOP YOUR ACTIONS, THIS INSTANT!
Grunt: ... Are you talking to me, little girl?
Sapphire: LITTLE GIRL?! Aaargh! I am 15-years old, you know! .. THATS NOT THE POINT! stop destroying those berries!
Grunt: .. and what if I won't?
Sapphire: ... YOU WILL DIE !
Green: ..
Red: ...
Leaf: GO SAPPHIRE!
Green: I expected this from you .. I really did.
Leaf: Shut up, you! I'm with you, Sapphire! [Jumps off ledge]
Green: ! Leaf, don't! [Runs to edge]
Leaf: I'm alright! Green: [smiles] Okay.
Leaf: [smiles at Green]
Red: [looks at Green and Leaf's reaction towards each other] ...
Grunt: Two little girls, I'm so scared. Beat it kids, don't you have school to attend?
Sapphire: Humpff! Leaf, are you ready?
Leaf: [Nods] Girl power, c'mon!
Grunt: I don't get it, Leaf .. A former Team Rocket member. You know what it's like to take orders, why would you stop me from obeying?
Leaf: .. Eh? How do you kn-
Grunt: -Giovanni was the first criminal in the Pokemon universe. He's a legend. Team Vitam knows everything about Team Rocket's intentions, and we also know Giovanni adopted you, two years after his son Silver was born.
Red: !
Grunt: You're a betrayer, Leaf. Once a rat, always a rat! [Runs off]
Sapphire: .. You were a member of Team Rocket?
Leaf: .. It was a long time ago ..
Red: Silver is Giovanni's son?
Leaf: [Nods] Yeah..
Sapphire: .. Damn it! Leaf, we're gonna talk about this!
Green: Whooppity doo, I didn't get my Gym battle, some guy killed all plantlife and now we're up to a campfire horror story.
Red: [Pokes Green with his elbow, shakes head]
Sapphire: So .. Are the two of you in on this?
Green: I know as much as you do, Sapphire.
Sapphire: Red? And you?
Red: I know everything, but it is up to Leaf to come clean.
Leaf: .. hmm
Leaf: Long story short, I was an orphan who hated adults. I came in contact with Giovanni on a fair. He was on a buisness trip with Adriana. I pick pocketed his wallet, ofcourse, being the criminal he is, he noticed. He was impressed with my speed and guts, so adopted me. He treated me as one of his own children, but when I met Red, and saw how the grunts had treated him, I decided to help Red escape and left Team Rocket to become a trainer myself. Red convinced Professor Oak to give me a Pokemon and a Pokedex.
Sapphire: but you were part of an organisation that killed Pokemon and people!
Green: Sapphire..
Sapphire: Your father is a mass murderer! He ruined so many people's lifes!
Green: .. Sapph-
Sapphire: How can you just set that part of your life aside and pretend it never happened?
Green: SAPPHIRE! LEAVE HER THE FUCK ALONE! AS IF YOU'RE SO GODDAMN PERFECT! ITS IN THE PAST, LEAF IS A GOOD PERSON NOW! EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES! IF YOU WANT TO PICK ON SOMEONE, PICK ON ME! IF YOU HURT LEAF, YOU HURT ME!
Red/Leaf: ...
Leaf: Green.. It's okay.
Green: [takes a deep breath]
Sapphire: ..
Leaf: I know my past is a terrible one. But I did reject Team Rocket eventually. I helped Red and became a better person. I haven't seen my steph father since. I have no connections to Team Rocket what so ever. I'm not pround of what I've done, but it happened.
Green: .. Leaf, you don't have to justify your actions.
Leaf: No, I do. I understand it's not easy to hang out with a former criminal, but Giovanni was all I've got back then. I had no home, no food, no money, no family. And Giovanni was rich, powerfull and .. actually a very nice man.
Red: ...
Leaf: I know it's hard to believe, but I see Giovanni as my father. To me, he was the father I never had and always wanted. He loved me, gave me everything I needed and wanted. It's just .. Too bad he never got along with his biological son Silver.. But even after I abandoned team Rocket, he never looked for me.. So I guess he didn't really care.
Red: Hey, Green?
Green: Yeah?
Red: There's something I don't get..
Green: About what?
Red: About you and Leaf.
Green: What is there not to get?
Red: How the both of you met..
Green: Oh that. Leaf and I both went to the same high school. Well, we had our exams at the same time. We met during the exams and ran into each other on some ocasions.
Red: You finished high school?
Green: Well, before I set out my journey through Kanto, I was homeschooled. But after that, I arranged with the school to study on my own, but still do my final exams.
Red: I never knew..
Green: I would eventually take over gramps lab once he'd retire, but things came up. You know, Champion title, Viridian Gym..
Red: I see.. But how did you bump into each other then?
Green: Well, we had our first actual conversation when we found your Charmander. Well, basically Leaf found it, and I happened to ran into her. I could tell that she was soaked from the pouring rain and did her best to keep Charmander from getting wet, so I offered her my coat and umbrella, and hid with her underneat some trees. She recognized me from the exams, and so did our conversation progress..
Red: How could Leaf attend high school if she didn't have any parents looking after her?
Green: How should I know? Maybe Giovanni payed for her studies, I don't know.
Red: .. and that's how you eventually fell in love with her?
Green: Nah .. to tell the truth, I fell for her because she was the first girl that wasn't smitten just by looking at me. It somehow impressed me that a girl didn't see me as a God, and treated me like I was a regular Japanese student.. That was a first, and secondly, her fierce personality was really attractive. I like girls that can stand up for themselves and say what's on their mind. Leaf didn't take shit from anyone, that was amazing, since most girls tend to say yes and agree mindlessly.
Red: Aha.. So Leaf always has been a potty mouth..
Green: She sure has! [Smirks]
Green: Huh? Hey! Are you alright? [Runs towards Leaf]
Leaf: I-I-I'm f-f-fin-ne.. [trembles]
Green: You're freezing. Here.. [wraps his coat around Leaf's shoulders]
Leaf: T-Thanks. I found this Pok mon and remembered it cannot afford to get wet. Green: It's rare to encounter a Charmander in the wild, is it yours?
Leaf: No.. like I said, I found it! Are you even listening? Men.. honestly!
Green: .. [Raises an eyebrow] Right. Look, there are a couple of big trees over there, let's hide underneath those.
Leaf: Hmm!
Leaf: I seem to remember your face.. weren't you at the final exams in March?
Green: Yeah I was.. Yeah, you were that girl in blue. Leaf: That's how I earned my nickname : Blue.
Green: What's your real name then?
Leaf: Leaf. [Smiles]
Green: Haha, that's funny. Mine's Green. Leaf: What's so funny about that?
Green: Well, Leaves are usually green.
Leaf: Yeah, you're right.. [giggles]
Green: So, are you a Pok mon trainer?
Leaf: I'd like to call myself a Pokemon Trainer, but I'm not really one.
Green: How come? You don't have a Pokemon or what?
Leaf: That's not it, I do. I own a Jigglypuff and a Squirtle, but they aren't exactly mine.
Green: Huh? What do you mean?
Leaf: [Smiles] I didn't catch them. They were .. given to me.
Green: Ooooh! I see! [Smiles] Some-one caught them for you!
Leaf: No .. Oh well, it doesn't really matter. I guess they're mine now.
Green: ..So, if this Charmander isn't yours, who's is it?
Leaf: I have no idea. I was fishing near this lake, when it all of a sudden started to pour. As I gathered my stuff and searched for shelter, I bumped into this little guy and immediatly sheltered it. I didn't mind getting wet, as long as it's fire kept burning.
Green: I see. You must have a good heart when it comes to helping others.
Leaf: You don't seem impressed, don't you have a good heart when it comes to helping others?
Green: .. Well, I'm not exactly mister nice guy. So, no, I'm not impressed. Rather intrueged by the fact that you'd rather die than letting this Pokemon die.
Leaf: It's not so amazing as you think. It's a normal thing to do, at least for me it is. Weaker Pokemon need protection, either from humans or Pokemon. It's the right thing to do.
Green: Hmm.. if you say so.
Leaf: Are you doing your best to show me you are some inconsiderate prick? 'Cause if you are, it's succeeding.
Green: W-what? Did you really just say that?
Leaf: Why so shocked? It's not because I'm a girl that I can't speak up!
Green: [Grins] No, indeed. I like that.
Leaf: So mister not-nice guy likes me?
Green: I didn't say that. I said I liked the way you use foul words.
Leaf: Perv. [Smirks]
Red: If you have history with Leaf, how come you let her go?
Green: Hmm?
Red: I mean, it's only natural for you to devellop feelings for her, if the both of you have a history together. You went to the same school, you both have a sadistic humor, and you kept my Charmander from dying.. Why did you let her go that easily?
Green: What are you getting at, Red?
Red: I mean.. If I had such a tie with a girl, I wouldn't let her go, just because she won't answer my love. That would give a reason to improve myself, and convince her that I'm the right guy for her. I wouldn't give up on her because I got rejected, I'd hold onto her.
Green: .. Red, are you telling me I should've kept trying to push my feelings onto Leaf? Even if she clearly said no multiple times and fell in love with my best friend?
Red: I can't help it that she likes me. But the feeling isn't mutual, so you had nothing to fear. I won't steal her away from you, but if you give up on Leaf, that means that if there happens to be any chance of me falling for her, you wouldn't mind me stealing away your first true love?
Green: .. I'm confused. Are you trying to tell me to keep chasing Leaf, or to hand her over to you?
Red: Either one.
Green: Well, I.. I still love her, I always will. It's like they say, your first love, will always remain your true love. But I had to move on, I had to get over her. For her sake and mine. It wouldn't bring me much good, shoved face deep into those many rejections, it would eventually break my self esteem into several pieces. And with recent events, Leaf feeling like shit over me, and herself, and you. I mean, the fact that she considers my feelings, means alot to me. But the one she gave her heart to, is you. And you threw it away. Which is what Leaf did with mine. Love is a cruel thing, Red. And a complicated gift given to mankind.
Red: I don't know what's the best move. Should I give Leaf a chance? By doing so, I would break your heart. If not, I'd break her heart. What's your say on this?
Green: To be honest, if you'd fuck Leaf, I'd break every bone in your body. And I'm dead serious on that matter. But then again, if I fucked Leaf, I know it would scar you for life. Not because I'm in the hue of you having romantic feelings towards me, but because at the moment, I'm the only one that you trust anything with. Even your sexual opinions, and the things you like and what not.
Red: So.. You won't hurt Leaf by being with me, because you love her. But then again, you won't hurt me, by being with Leaf, because you somehow care for me -
Green: - I love you.
Red: - Because you love me. And because I am an emotionless prick, I won't be with Leaf, because you lover her and it would hurt you. But if I'm with you, when I seem to figured out what love is, I would eventually hurt Leaf. So what's the best thing to do in this situation?
Green: Why do you think I rather have girls out of the picture when the both of us are together?
Red: I understand now. Love is way too complicated for me to handle. My miniscule, half frozen brain can't cope with that shit yet.
Green: [Rubs through Reds Raven black hair] You'll get there. But even in this case, I have no clue how to spare eachothers feelings. It seems like no matter what decision we make, someone will end up hurt.
Red: And that's the thing I'd like to avoid. [Sighs]
Green: From the looks of it, that seems impossible. Sadly enough..
• Leaf's nickname is Blue, because I'm sick and tired of this eternal argument that's circulating the internet, that Leaf is actually Blue. When in my opinion, Leaf is based on Blue. And Blue being a character in the Manga series and not the Games, so not counting in the lines of Game-Characters.
