Chapter 13

Hikari sighed while standing beside the full length glass window in her office at around 12 midnight then. She watched the lights in the city while reminiscing her past with her love – Kei. She can't help but smile on her silliness back then. She does always ask Kei for a match with him even though in the end Kei always wins over her.

"How are you these past few years? Do you still think of me? Is it too late?" Hikari thought that makes her smile vanish slowly and slowly until tears drops one by one.

"It is ok. No one can see me, just for now. Let me cry." Hikari said to herself. She just cried silently there until her personal phone rang.

RING...RING...RING...RING...

Hikari looked at the caller only to find out that it is her grandfather. She immediately answered it.

"Hello?" Hikari said while wiping her tears and letting her voice sound as if she did not cry.

"Darling? Are you alright?" her grandfather ask her with concern on his voice.

"Yes grandfather. I am." She said. "By the way, why have you called this time of the night grandfather, is it too late now?"

"I happened to call at the mansion at around 10 in the evening saying that you have not yet arrived. I thought that you are just finishing something here and is home at around 11. So I called again sometime now and they say that you are not yet home so I called you." Her grandfather said. "Are you still in the office?"

"Yes grandfather."

"Are you really ok darling? It is so rare of you to stay late."

"I just slept a little here grandfather and did not notice the time." She said so that he will not worry.

"I see. By the way, Miyuki keeps on asking me where you are until she falls asleep. Rest assured there, I will keep an eye on her for you."

"Thank you grandfather, I owe you one." Hikari said while walking to the sofa to have a seat.

"You do not owe me anything. It is just a way of my thanks to you for accepting me as your grandfather."

"What are you saying? Of course I am going to accept you. You are my grandfather."

"I still want to thank you dear. Oh, before I forgot. I have just received the monthly report of the month of October and it seems that you have a very good performance. You have surpassed the sales last September. Good job darling." Her grandfather said.

"Thank you very much grandfather for that compliment."

"And because of that, I am going to give you a month vacation. Go wherever you want and don't worry, I can still handle the company and besides your brother will be back tomorrow. So don't worry ok?"

"Is it really ok grandfather?"

"Of course it is and besides you deserve it."

"But I don't have anywhere to go."

"Why don't you tour around Japan, the world! You are still young dear; you could do everything you wanted."

Upon hearing it, Hikari seems to be satisfied, "Ok grandfather I will accept it."

"That's great! Your vacation will be effective tomorrow."

"Immediately? But – "

"No buts young lady, just obey me."

"Yes grandfather."

"It is getting late, you better go to sleep. Good night."

"Good night too grandfather." And then she ended the phone call.

Hikari was a bit of relieved but also a bit confused but all in all, she could now have a vacation all by herself. With this, her eyes slowly close for her rest.

KEI'S POV

"Young master, your grandfather, tells that you will be receiving a month long vacation as your birthday gift from him and because of your exemplary job for the company." Aoi said.

Upon hearing this, of course I could not believe that this can still happen but other part of me thinks that this could be an opportunity to see Hikari again and to talk to her about many things.

"Ok, tell him, that I would like it to be effective today." After saying this, I stood up, get my car keys and phone and then went out of the office.

I did not hear anything from Aoi after I have left the office so it is really true. I immediately went back to the mansion. I changed my suit into a casual dress, pants, plain shirt, a jacket and sneakers. After that, I went downstairs with my wallet, keys and cellphone with me. I saw Sui at the garden talking to someone at the phone. I did not want to interrupt and eavesdrop to their conversation but the thing that Sui said makes me stop and listen.

"- you sure onee? You want to visit them? And you need me to make a way? – Onee that is impossible! – but – All right! All right! I will do something! – AND I HATE YOU!" Sui said while giggling then turned off the phone. He seems to have sensed that I have been there so he turned his way to me.

"Oh! Hello onii-san! Where are you going?" He said.

"I am going out; do you want to accompany me?"

"No thanks, I am doing my report for tomorrow's board meeting and I have something to do." He said.

"Ok, good luck and enjoy yourself."

"You too onii-san."

After that, I slipped into my car and then drove to Akira's house.

NORMAL POV

"TADASHIIII!" A young lady shouted at her fiancé because of some trivial thing done by him.

They chased each other but she is not angry anymore. She is smiling and laughing her heart out which makes this young gentleman a bit sad.

"Ahumm!" Kei said which makes the couple stop and look at him.

When they turned their heads, they were shocked because of what Kei is wearing.

"It is too rare to see you in that clothes young master." Tadashi said.

"Shut up"

"Right Kei, it is too rare to see you in those clothes and too rare to see me. What do you need?" Akira said while wiping her fiancé's sweat while walking to the sofa.

"I just want..." Kei said but he did not finish what he wanted to say.

"You just want to?"

"I just want – want – want to know if you still contact Hikari." Kei said.

"Hikari?" Tadashi asked.

"Yes." Kei answered.

"I had just a talk to her at the phone. She says that she doesn't want to be contacted for one month. I want to object but she seems to be serious about it so I say no, she also says that she will not use her phone for one month also." Akira said.

"Is that so." Kei said discouraged.

"Just wait for the right time Kei. I know she will talk to you. Just wait." Akira said while walking to Kei and hugged him as a friend.

"Thank you Akira." Kei said while smiling.

He said his goodbye to the couple and started his engine. He did not know where to go, he just drove and drove until he came into a beach. It was sunset then and the beach looks very nostalgic. He died the engine and went outside to walk on the beach. As he was walking, he saw someone there standing and as if about to cry. He was about to call her when she says something.

"Kei" the lady said and then tears falls from her cheeks.

He just look at her as if memorizing her. Her phone rings so she has to pick it up. He still listens to her.

"Oh! Sui-kun. – Hai! – Right now? – Sure! – Wait me there ok? – Bye!" she dried her tears and then walked directly to her car.

Kei still watch her as if he knows her. He knows that she is she but he can't be so sure. So untimely, the lady faced the beach for a moment and Kei saw her whole face. "Hikari." Kei said and then Hikari drove off.

"It is really her." Kei said and faced the melancholic sunset in the beach.
