The next morning, when Hikari woke up her head is aching. She did not know why. When she tried to sit down, she was pulled back by her bed as if telling her to sleep more but she did not let herself be drag down. By that, the person leaning on her bed woke up. She was very surprised to see her grandfather, sister-in-law, Miyuki and Satoshi in her room.

"Darling are you alright?" Her grandfather asked her which makes Satoshi wake up.

With a little smile on her face she answered, "Yes grandfather, I am alright. Just a little head ache that is all. Don't worry."

Her grandfather was not convinced so she continued, "Grandfather, I won't die that easily. I can live long like you. Don't worry please?"

With that convincing of her, her grandfather stopped being worried about her. "I just don't want you to be like your grandmother darling. It would cost my life again if you will be gone."

"Heredity will be the reason, but don't worry grandfather, Natsume is a very good doctor of mine if I will feel something, and I will be willing to submit to him anytime." I said.

"That is good to hear." Her grandfather told her.

After a little while of chatting, her grandfather went out first followed by her sister-in-law with Miyuki on her hands. After the closing of the door, Hikari faced her brother.

"You know already?" she asked.

"Yes." He answered with visible pain in his eyes.

Hikari lets his brother sit on her bed and then held his hands.

"Everything will be alright." She said while smiling. "Nothing will happen and if something will do happen, will you let it?" she asked.

Satoshi raised his eyes to her and then answered, "No."

"That is good. Then you must not worry ok?"

"I can't promise Hikari. I can't." Her brother said teary eyed.

"But you must promise me." she said while her tears are just flowing. "We can do this."

"Hikari." Her brother said while hugging her.

"SSSHHH.. Nothing will happen, I promise you." Hikari said to her brother.

Satoshi left Hikari in her room. She slept again and was only waken up by the ringing of her phone. She reached for it only to see and unknown number on the screen. So she answered it.

"Hello?" she asked.

"Hikari-san?" the caller asked.

"Yes who is this?"

"Aoi."

"Aoi? Takeshima's secretary?"

"Yes ma'am." He said.

"What can I do for you sir?"

"Your niece is in the hospital?"

MIYUKI'S POV

Hello, Miyuki-desu. I know that I am still young but I can understand what is going on my surrounding. I even do know that Mr. Takeshima is my Ayie's boyfriend that she loved dearly.

How did I know?

Ayie told me about it. Although it was through the story that she is telling me. It was always my bedtime story when I am with her. She do love me like my parents but I was with her ever since I am little that is why I am more into her than my parents.

Have Dr. Natsume told you about my grandmother's sickness? Oh! Let me rephrase it, Have Dr. Natsume told you about my Ayie's grandmother's sickness? Why did she die?

Of course, that doctor won't even tell a thing but I have heard it accidentally. Ayie's grandmother has a heart failure. A heart failure that is heredity and luckily, I was the one who get it. They don't know it yet. Even my mother doesn't know it yet. Ayie is the one who knew it first because of certain circumstances. By this time, I think my father also knew it.

Dr. Natsume is my Ayie's doctor as well as mine. Ayie don't want anyone to check me but the doctor she have chosen. Yes I appreciate it very much but I know that I am beginning to be a burden to her.

Look what happen to her at the party. She collapsed. I know it was still because of me. She collapsed because she was looking before me always. Grandfather was very worried to her for the reason that he thinks Ayie inherited the sickness, but he is wrong. I was the one who inherited it.

My heart became heavier and heavier as time goes by. I want to give up but when I see my Ayie, father and mother doing what they can for me, I am thinking the other way round. I want to live. I want to but I can't. When it becomes heavier, I can't breathe properly and when that happens every time, I always landed on the hospital.

Right now I am in the park playing by myself. Ayie left early for work, mom went overseas again and only dad was at home but he is not with me. I just escaped. I know by now he is frantic about find me. How did I know? I don't know, I just have the hunch.

I stopped playing and sat on the bend beside the tree for some sort of shelter from the heat of the sun because I am exhausted and out of breathe. I am about to sleep when someone carried me. I know I am safe because he was the one who can keep my Ayie from crying not like I am doing. I know I am safe with Kei-san.

"Miyuki?!" is the last thing I have heard before I closed my eyes.

KEI'S POV

I was roaming around the park because office became much of a prison for me. I want to be free from time to time.

Flashback….

Upon hearing it, Kei was puzzled. Why would Hikari be Natsume's doctor? Is she sick?

"Hikari's doctor?"

"Yes, I think it was already 2 years. Do you not know Kei-san?"

Kei is just silent and decided to take his leave. He was walking to the door when Miku said something.

"Rest assured Kei-san that our engagement is now off."

"I know."

"Oh! I nearly forgot. Natsume is Hikari-chan's doctor for only check-ups because lately Hikari-chan is having a difficulty in sleeping that is why. Mostly, Hikari is with Miyuki-chan. As what I hear from Natsume, it is not Hikari who has an illness." Miku said which caught my attention. I gaze to her and said.

"Then who?

"Miyuki."

When I hear Miyuki's name I froze.

"Why?"

"I think the child has a heart failure."

"Heart failure?"

"Yes and it was inherited. I think Miyuki inherited it from Hikari-chan's grandmother. Neither Miyuki's parents know their child's condition. Only Hikari knows it. She doesn't want to give the couple another thing to be afraid of. Reason? Hikari's brother and sister-in-law is expecting another baby for the next 6 months I think and her sister-in-laws condition is very fragile that is why they are not telling them."

Upon hearing it, I cannot say anything. I am very much disappointed and heart broken by what I hear. Miyuki remind me so much of Hikari that I once thought that she was mine and her daughter all along but sadly she was her brother's.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"This is quite a…"

"Revelation? I know. I have seen Miyuki by myself and she is such a beauty and witty little girl. I would love to have her as my daughter but sadly she has her parents and a very protective aunt." Miku just smiled.

I did not know what to do so without saying anything, I stand up and went outside. The next day, I was busy in my office but I have felt pressure and tiredness so I went for a little stroll outside.

END OF FLASHBACK

I am so much tired these past few days. The only thing that is keeping me from doing everything in a day to day basis is Hikari.

"How is she?" I asked myself.

I am so busy strolling when my peripheral vision caught a sight of a little girl in a bench falling slowly as if she is about to sleep. So, I turned my full attention to her and she how she is suffering. She is breathing very deeply. I turned around to see if someone is there but the girl is only by herself.

She steadied her breathing but I know she is suffering. She closes her eyes and slowly engulfed herself in a deep slumber. Adrenaline rushes through me. I hurried towards her and put her into my arms. I repeatedly called her name.

"Miyuki?!" I called, she opens her eyes once more to see who I am and then a small smile curved her lips and then she slowly closes her eyes.

I did not know what to do at that time. It seems that Hikari is the one closing her eyes in my arms saying 'goodbye' for good. It makes my heart sank and small tears came out of my eyes. I carried her and ran towards my car in our company's basement without caring of the questioning eyes of my employees and people around. I put her on the back seat applying the first aid I have learned. Then I called Aoi saying to call Hikari and tell her about Miyuki.

I hurried to the nearby hospital which we owned. I parked it in front of the hospital and then hurriedly carried Miyuki inside the emergency room. Every nurses and doctors became immobile for a while and then regained their consciousness by what I say.

"HURRY UP! SHE IS DYING!" I just said.

Doctors present and nurses doing nothing hurriedly went to me get Miyuki and have taken good care of her.

"Mr. Takeshima please calm down she is going to be ok." One of the doctors said.

I did not care of what he said. After a couple of minutes, I remembered Natsume, "Call Natsume!" I said.

"Sir?"

"I said get NATSUME!" I shouted.

"Yes sir!" one of the nurses said.

After a couple of minutes, Natsume came in barging the emergency room. He searched for the room and then saw me. He went to me and said.

"What happened?" He said while breathing in for air.

"She collapsed." I said.

"WHO?" he asked.

"Miyuki." I answered.

"WHAT?" after saying that, he immediately went to Miyuki and then ordered many things. After a couple of minutes, they have made her stable for the mean time. She was put into Intensive Care Unit for monitoring under Natsume's name.

Natsume went to me and then said.

"It is good that you have found her right at the right time." Natsume started.

"Huh? Why?"

"Recently, she has been having frequent attacks. I don't know what occurred this but I know if this happens again without someone with her, I know she will die eventually."

I was about to say something when we hear someone behind us.

"Die?"

We turned our back and see Hikari shocked at the same time crying.

"Miy…Miyuki…will…d-die?" she said while crying.

Hikari's POV

"Miy…Miyuki…will…d-die?" I said while crying.

"It is just a possibility if she will have another attack Hikari." Natsume said.

"NO! NO! Miyuki is not DYING! NO!" I said shouting and crying at the same time. "SHE IS NOT DYING"

I am now hysterical at the moment. I was about to cry again when someone hugged me and shushed me.

"SSSHHH! Don't cry Hikari. Everything will be alright." Kei said soothing me.

I hiccupped signing that slowly I am not crying anymore but my tears won't stop crying.

"She will die Kei… She will…" I said.

"No, she won't. Will we let it?" He said soothing me.

I did not say anything at all now. "Let me see her." I said.

I was accompanied by Kei and Natsume inside the ICU. I wore mask, hair cap, and a gown needed inside the ICU. When we went inside, I automatically went beside Miyuki who is at the moment sleeping. I held her hands and said while crying, "Baby, wake up already. Ayie is here. You don't want Ayie to be crying right? You promised me right? Baby wake up, please? Miyuki."

I held Miyuki's hands tightly and then bowed my hands and then prayed silently for Miyuki's cure. I was taken aback because someone patted my head. I raised my head and saw Miyuki now awake but is weak.

"A-Ayie." She said in a very soft and low voice.

"Yes baby?" I said, "Do you need anything? What do you want to do? Do you want to play with me? Beach? Let us go! You want it right?"

Her eyes, even though it is weak, tells me that she wants it.

"Y-yes. Let us go. With mommy and daddy, can we ayie?" she said.

"Yes! Yes we can." I said still crying.

"Ayie?" she asked.

"Yes?"

She reached for my face and then wiped my tears, "Don't cry." She said while slow tear drops escapes from her eyes. "Don't cry. Plea…." she did not finish what she is saying because she is now gasping for air. Natsume and Kei became alert.

"Hikari, she is now suffocating. Please, let her stop." Natsume said.

"Baby, please don't talk anymore. Please rest. Ayie is not crying anymore. Please. Please don't leave me. Please." I said.

The door came banging in revealing Grandfather, Satoshi and her sister in law. Miyuki saw them.

She looked at her parents and, removed her oxygen mask and said, "Thank you mommy, daddy. I – I love you." Her mother cried very hard so is Satoshi but only tears are escaping from his eyes.

Her mother went over to my side, held Miyuki's hands which I am holding and said, "Please. Please don't go Miyuki. Please." She said crying. Miyuki just looked at her with a weak smile and said, "I love you mommy. Please take care of baby ok?" I was taken aback by what Miyuki said. Everyone was keeping it from her for we know she will think that we did not love her anymore. "I love you both mommy. You, baby and daddy. Please be strong for me." She said.

"Miyuki." Satoshi said.

"Do not cry daddy. Baby is coming. Please be nice to him." She said.

Then she looked at my grandfather and then smiled again, then said, "I love you lolo."

That makes my grandfather tear up and went outside. Lastly she looked at me.

"Ayie. I love you too. Please promise me to do everything you have told me to do together with your daughter in the future."

"Yes. Yes I will."

"Please love Kei-san for eternity." She said while smiling to Kei.

"Yes." I said.

"Don't cry anymore ayie. I am just right here." She pointed my heart, "I am always with you and will always smile for y – you." After saying that, right at this moment, Miyuki took her very last deep breathe, looked at us, smiled and slowly, she closes her eyes.

Her grip in our hand became loose. Nurses came rushing inside the room. Natsume tried to revive her. We could not say anything right now. I could not hear anything. Natsume faced us and mouthed something. I know everyone can hear him but I can't. The only thing that I remembered is that Kei bringing me to his arms and guiding me towards home.

"Miyuki is…dead." Was the last thing I said before I lose my consciousness.
