Hellloo! Gasp! What? Another update so soon? Who am I?! haha

Thank you so so much to those of you who reviewed, favorited and followed. Suddenly my inbox has been getting a lot of notifications and I have fuzzy feelings because of it. So thank you. Especially to those who reviewed because you made me laugh and of course continued to give me confidence about this story.

A lot of you are worried about Klaus and Caroline's relationship. I'd say that's a healthy reaction. Haha. Also, some of you are curious about Valentina. There will be some flashbacks in the chapters ahead.

Anyway, I'm really happy you guys liked the last chapter even though it was a filler one. I hope you like this one too because it's a long one. Lots of dialogue in this chapter.

*Special shout out to angel1725 and sarcasticcraccola. Thank you both for the reviews you've given to all of my stories and for the flattering and kind PMs. Much love and appreciation. :]

Caroline was still distracted by their conversation in the car by the time they were nearing the club. They bypassed a long line of humans, tourists, but it was the heavy bass of the music that finally pulled Caroline into the present.

The sun had set long ago and now she was going to experience the Quarter's nightlife. She was nervous, she realized, because she had never experienced going to a club.

Klaus wrapped his arm around her waist and tugged her close to his side just as they were entering the booming building. Caroline's eyes flicked upwards at the last second to see Club Opera written in elegant calligraphy that was lit up.

The first thing that hit them was the overwhelming scent of human blood and almost instantly the veins around Caroline's eyes formed and her fangs extended. She immediately hid her face in Klaus's shoulder.

"Klaus!" she whispered fiercely. "Klaus I—"

"Sweetheart look up. It's alright."

Caroline peeked up and saw that Klaus' hybrid features had come out.

"Klaus! Maaann it is good to see you out and about," Marcel sang as he approached the couple. "And you brought Caroline, hey beautiful."

"Ah well," Klaus began as he looked around, "I was curious to see what you had done to Elijah's favorite building."

There was no mistaking that the club there were now standing in was once an opera building. It was unique for sure. Where perhaps velvet seats once lined the floor now were replaced with bars and intricately designed dance floors.

Caroline's eyes traveled upward and she saw that the elimination of the seats had been repeated on each level. She could see people dancing, arms flailing over the balconies as they waved to their friends that danced on the level below.

Her eyes continued to roam and she noticed the many large crystal chandeliers that hung from the large dome of a ceiling. They gave off light in red hues and the crystals twinkled from the flashing lights of the dance floors.

Klaus had been scanning his surroundings as well. However, his eyes were on the stage. No longer were there opera sets but a performance still remained. Trapeze artists twirled and swung and each wore a masquerade mask. The velvet curtains remained on each side of the stage and he could see people disappear behind them.

Their surroundings were a beautiful clash of classical design and modern allure but the most prominent feature of the club were the inhabitants. Caroline eyes flitted back to the entrance and she watched as vampires crossed over the threshold, their fangs and veined-eyes making a debut as they stepped inside.

"It's a spell I had a witch perform," Marcel provided as explanation. "Any vampire that sets foot inside no longer has control of their vampire features. It's how I keep track of who's who. Or really who's what if ya know what I'm sayin'."

Caroline didn't really know what to think. She looked harder and she noticed a separate line of people getting their hand stamped with what looked like a calligraphic-lettered M.

Klaus recognized the M as the one that represented his last name but he was sure Marcel was now using it for his own. He spoke closely to Caroline's ear when he realized she was still looking at the line. "They're humans," he told her. He had already seen them being compelled before they were stamped.

Caroline was speechless. She didn't know how to respond let alone how to act now.

Marcel grinned at Klaus and clapped him on the shoulder. "Seems like I scared your fiancé," he chuckled. "I think you both need a drink." He waved his hand and a scantily clad human girl approached with a tray of drinks. He took two flute glasses and presented them to the couple. "It's called Davina. Our house drink. Careful though, you drink too many and you'll end up with a splitting headache." Marcel winked and began to walk away. "I'll catch up with you two lovebirds later."

The moment Marcel disappeared Klaus set the drinks down on a passing tray. He pulled Caroline close to him, one hand cupping her cheek. "Drink anything but Davina and don't stray from my side tonight, understand?" She nodded with wide eyes and in that moment he wanted to kiss away her fear.

:

An hour went by and Klaus made it his business to blend in with the crowd. He indulged in the drinks, save for the elixir Davina, and he roamed each floor of the club, taking in the conversations the locals had to offer. From an outsider's perspective he appeared to be enjoying himself. He knew when to laugh or when to ask certain questions without being questioned of his motives.

He also kept Caroline near him at all times. If they weren't dancing, she was tucked into his side. If he didn't hold her against him, he at least held her hand.

Caroline could tell he was determined to find out all he could about Marcel's inner workings but it was also hard to miss how protective he was. And I really don't mind, she thought. If she didn't count her friends from Virginia, this was really her first vampire gathering. She was fascinated and scared at the same time. After a while she could tell if a vampire was new or old. The newer ones seemed eager to mingle with one another while the older ones had a more graceful way of walking. The older ones also seemed to let their stare linger on her and Klaus, no doubt knowing who he was but curious about her.

At some point during the night, the vampires had crowded around the pair and, with the combination of the drinks, boldly asked them about their relationship, about how they met, and they even asked how their age difference affected them.

Klaus didn't like to be pressed with such personal questions. However, he trusted Caroline to answer in a clever manner and she did. She was magnificent. She was sexy. And every time she raised her glass to her red lips, her engagement ring glimmered in the eyes of their audience. She was his and everyone knew it.

"Excuse me, hello!"

A mini bar was stationed directly behind where Klaus and Caroline stood. The other vampires continued to talk to Klaus but Caroline became distracted by the scene behind her.

"I said excuse me! Could I get drink or what?"

The bartender handed the aggravated girl a glass of Davina. The girl saw that Caroline had been staring.

"Hey, sorry if I was shouting in your ear," the girl said sincerely.

Caroline finally turned her full attention to her. Klaus quickly glanced at them and then went back to his conversation with the others.

"It's okay," Caroline smiled. "At least you got your drink!" she shouted over the music.

"Yeah. My name's Cassie. I'm a human and I'm a student at Tulane," she introduced herself while holding out her hand.

Caroline shook it. "Me too, well except for the human part obviously," she said as she pointed to her own vampire face. It was still weird to her that some humans in New Orleans were aware of the supernatural but if it meant she could make friends more easily she didn't mind.

Cassie laughed. "Obviously." She took a sip of her drink and scowled. "Hey I asked for a Hurricane, not this!" she yelled at the bartender again. A few moments later she got the drink she wanted.

"Rough day?" Caroline asked.

"I failed my test in my O-chem class. I just hate that subject so much ya know."

"O-chem. Yuck, no thank you. I think you're in one of my other classes though. Professor Heath's?"

"Yes! That's where I recognized you. What a crazy guy."

Caroline laughed in agreement. "I know. I think it's going to be a really interesting semester."

Cassie shrugged. "Well we could help each other out."

The blonde baby vampire smiled. Maybe Tulane won't be so bad after all.

:

"Well he seems to be enjoying himself," Sophie commented as she watched Klaus from a banister above.

Valentina tipped back her drink and cued the bartender for another drink. "I'm not surprised. What does shock me is him and Marcel not being best friends by now."

"I think it's fair to say my brother has changed," Elijah defended.

"Why? Because of Caroline?" Valentina asked without really wanting an answer.

"You don't like her do you?" Sophie pressed.

"No I like her." When Elijah and Sophie continued to stare at her she rolled her eyes. "I really do like her. I just don't like that she's with Niklaus. She's too good for him."

"Too good for who?" Marcel interrupted as he took a step into their space.

Elijah regarded the self-proclaimed king with little joy. "Marcellus."

"Marcellus," Marcel mocked in Elijah's tone. "Even when you're not wearing a suit you're still refined and stuck up. Ha-ha! Hey," he quirked his head with a smile, "it's a party, lighten up! Relax! Have a drink," he said while handing Elijah a glass of Davina.

Except for the house music that continued to boom, there was a beat of silence amongst the four. The glass of Davina remained in Elijah's hand with no movement and Marcel watched him through narrowed eyes even though he was grinning.

"Oh I'll drink it," Valentina shouted. "Everyone seems to be talking about this damn drink anyway." She grabbed the glass from Elijah, rolled her eyes, and then emptied the glass in one swig.

Marcel chuckled in his drunken stupor. "Valentina you never disappoint, girl. How come you're not around more often?"

"Because you bore me. All you power hungry men are predictable," she teasingly replied. "Besides, I'm on the lookout for a more honorable sort of guy." Her eyes flickered to Elijah who held a small smile for her.

The mood instantly changed again when Marcel stared at Sophie who was standing across from him. "Sophie you look beautiful tonight, how are you?"

"I'm fine, thanks," she answered without a smile.

Marcel smirked and then stepped aside to the edge of the banister. He gave the DJ a nod and the music turned down. "Ladies and Gentlemen! My fellow vampires, my family," he addressed, "if you haven't already heard, the great Niklaus Mikaelson is back in town."

As soon as the music had died down Klaus and Caroline's attention were fixed on Marcel. Klaus raised his current drink in toast at the mention of his own name.

"Why is Niklaus great you all ask?" Marcel stared down at his sire, his mentor. "Because not only is he an Original, but because he's the Original Hybrid! My my, what an accomplishment."

Caroline stepped closer to Klaus and slipped her hand into his.

"As many of you also know, Klaus Mikaelson is also my sire. My teacher. He practically raised me, so in many ways he's like a father to me," he praised. "I've known this guy for centuries so you can imagine my surprise when he didn't arrive to the Quarter alone."

By now all eyes were on them.

"Ladies, if ya haven't caught sight of the ring she's wearing you best believe me when I tell you that THAT stunning young," Marcel pointed to Caroline, "is Klaus' fiancé! Caroline Forbes! What a beauty! Can we all take a moment to congratulate them?"

Everyone around them immediately cheered, applauded, and raised their glasses to them.

"Like I said, Klaus is like a father to me. So what kind of son would I be if I didn't throw him and his girl an engagement party." Marcel gestured toward the stage where the trapeze dancers once occupied and now there were two red velvet chairs, thrones, clearly meant for Klaus and Caroline.

Klaus glanced up at Marcel again. His outstretched arm waved once more, urging Klaus to move toward the stage. Klaus knew that Marcel was testing him. He could see it in his eyes. They stared at one another for a moment more and then finally Klaus conceded. He knew that tonight was not the night to show his true colors.

He turned his attention to Caroline who's eyes were already on him. She swallowed thickly and squeezed his hand. He gave her an encouraging smile and turned to walk her up the stage with him.

The sound of her heels could be heard by even the highest level of the club. Caroline felt like she was going to pass out. Was it a trick? She didn't know.

She locked eyes with Klaus as they slowly sat into their party thrones. The silence remained until they heard footsteps behind them. The crowd cheered when they saw caterers shuffle out from behind the curtains with trays holding cakes and more food and more drinks. "Let the music play on, let's give them a Quarter signature party, congratulations Caroline and Klaus." Marcel tipped back his drink and the music resumed.

Caroline noted that the music wasn't the same as before. It now allowed more variety to the style of dancing. She watched as couples immediately paired up and then turned once again to Klaus.

He spoke before she did. "I threw a party like this once. In his eyes it's a compliment."

"Hmm, well I feel silly sitting up here don't you." She watched as Klaus thought about her question. At first he seemed to be contemplating if he was in fact uncomfortable but when he leaned back into the chair she knew the answer.

"Have I told you how ravishing you look tonight?" He took her hand into his warm ones and places a kiss into her palm.

Caroline giggled, feeling the alcohol more than ever. "Right back at you."

:

Before Elijah could intercede and before she could refuse, Marcel had asked Sophie for a dance, quickly taking her hand and leading her down to the dance floor.

Elijah and Valentina had followed from a distance and watched them slow dance from afar.

"You've been ignoring me, Sophie," Marcel whispered in her ear.

"You don't take a hint Marcel," the witch replied, not giving him the satisfaction of looking at him.

"Give me another chance. I know we would be great together," he said tenderly.

"Is that what you told my sister?" she bit back.

"I told you Soph, your sister ran away, I don't know where she is."

At that Sophie looked at him. "So how about you let me do a locator spell so I could find her?" They both knew Jane-Anne was dead but Sophie wanted to see if Marcel would make an exception for her.

"You know the rules, Sophie." He squeezed her hand. "But if you really want to do the spell you'll have to come with me to my place."

"May I cut in?"

Elijah always did praise himself when it came to perfect timing.

:

"Enjoying yourselves?" Marcel asked as he stepped up onto the stage.

"What more could I ask for?" Klaus smirked as he gestured at the party earning Marcel a laugh.

"I was wondering if you wanted to share a drink for old time's sake. Could I borrow your fiancé, Caroline? Or do you have a tight leash on him," he teased.

Caroline looked at Klaus who gave her tiny nod. "No it's fine. Just don't kill him," she bravely said back.

"Ooh she's a spitfire, Klaus."

"Indeed she is," he said as he squeezed her hand before he rose from his seat.

Marcel led him behind one of the stage curtains and they walked down a few narrow passage ways. Clearly not much of behind the stage had been changed for the club.

The younger vampire opened a door that was once a dressing room. It was nice decorated as a gentlemen's smoking room but Marcel walked through and only stopped when he was on standing outside on a balcony. Klaus joined his side with his hands clasped behind his back and they both looked out into the skyline of the city.

"So what do you think?" Marcel asked seriously. He rested his forearms on the railing and his voice had become hushed, sounding deep in thought.

"What do I think of what?" The Original regarded his once pupil without giving away any emotion.

"With what I've done with the place."

Klaus didn't answer at first. He wanted to say that he wanted the city back. He wanted to ask how he managed to gain so many loyal followers. But instead he chose flattery. "It does have a certain appeal," he smirked.

Marcel scoffed, shaking his head but then smiled. "Listen. You left—"

"I had no choice. You know the reason my family and I left was because of Mikael."

"I know, I know. It's just, this is my home now, ya know. It's my home."

Klaus looked away from him and back at the city's skyline.

"How'd you do it?" Marcel asked changing the subject.

"How'd I do what?"

Marcel straightened and faced him. "How'd you break your curse."

"Why do you ask?"

"I'm just curious. I mean you sired me, right?"

"If you're asking if you have a werewolf side because I sired you the answer is no."

"No man, I'm just saying we could trust each other. My guys…they're loyal to me because they trust me." He looked up at the moon.

The two were silent for a while. Each reflecting on how time had changed their relationship. Klaus knew that Marcel was struggling to confess his secret to him. He knew he was debating internally.

He broke the silence with a loud clap of his hands and smiled. "I promised you a drink." He wrapped his knuckles against one of the doors and a vampire entered towing in two humans and a tray. Klaus recognized the vampire as Marcel's right hand man, Diego.

Klaus glanced at the two girls who were clearly compelled and then watched Marcel dismiss Diego. "Come here ladies," he instructed.

The four of them took a seat on the two velvet sofas that were in the room. Marcel and Klaus sat across from each other and their drinks were on the table in between them. Klaus noticed the lemon and the salt.

"You remember our drink don't you?" Marcel inquired.

Klaus returned the younger's smirk. "Of course." He watched Marcel grab a hold of the girl's neck and sink his teeth into her neck viciously.

Klaus then turned to the brunette that sat next to him. He immediately recognized her as the girl that Caroline was conversing with. Cassie, was it? Cassie's blue eyes were fixed on him, no doubt the compulsion keeping her silent. Klaus slowly cradled Cassie's neck. He looked at the young human girl one last time and then in that same second he pulled the girl toward his fangs and ripped into her flesh. He glanced at Marcel who let his human meal drop to the floor.

Klaus drank until he felt the life of Cassie leave her body and when he was finished he let her body drop back into the cushion. Her body was stiff and her eyes unblinking.

Each immortal picked up a salted lemon and quickly bit into it. Then Marcel raised his glass to Klaus. "To our renewed friendship."

Klaus acknowledged with a serious nod and then they both drank.

"Honestly, Marcel. If you're gonna throw a party in our club you could at least introduce me to the person you're throwing it for."

Klaus turned to the sound of the woman's voice and was met by red-headed vixen. She sashayed toward the two men and placed her hand on Marcel's shoulder.

"Klaus this is Genevieve. She co-owns the club with me and she's also the witch who placed the Appearance spell I mentioned earlier."

Genevieve had a twinkle in her eyes and Klaus immediately picked up on the fact that that flirtatious stare was for him. Not interested, sweetheart.

The witch held her hand out toward him. "Pleasure," she said as they shook.

Diego entered the room and whispered in Marcel's ear.

"If you would both would excuse me."

The door shut with a thud leaving Klaus and Genevieve in the room alone.

:

Caroline was surrounded by girls who were constantly gushing over her ring. She was flattered by their compliments which only made it more difficult for her to remember that their engagement wasn't real. Would it be so bad if it was though?

She peeked over at the stage curtains anxious for Klaus to return but instead was greeted by Marcel's appearance.

"Hey beautiful. Klaus is still back there talking to the owner of this establishment. Do me the honor?" he asked with his hand opened toward her.

Caroline looked at the curtains once more. She looked back at Marcel and spotted Elijah and Sophie watching them. As long as one Original is nearby.

"Sure," she said hesitantly.

As they stepped down onto the dance floor the music changed to a slower darker tune.

"So tell me, sweet Caroline. Are you really enjoying your time here? Because you don't strike me as the type of girl who would stick around in a town like this." He then took a second to look her up and down. "And don't get me wrong, honey. The getup you're wearing right now is sexy as hell but I've seen you a few times now. This ain't your idea of a night out."

Caroline willed her body to remain calm underneath Marcel's hold. She was so sure that changing the way she normally dressed would help her feel not so much like a tourist but Marcel saw right through it. Still, she refused to give him the satisfaction of being right. She held her head up high when she replied, "Well in all fairness, Marcel, you really don't know me."

"True." He gave her a toothy grin and then abruptly twirled her out only to reel her into his arms once again. "I do know that you're young though. Pretty much a baby in this town. I've known Klaus for centuries and I've never known him to be interested in someone like you, you know, your type."

"Excuse me? My type?" Caroline noticed another song had begun to play.

"Oh come on," he laughed, "it's pretty obvious you're everything he's not. Youthful, bright," his eyes locked with hers, "innocent."

Caroline had no words but she tried to remain unaffected.

"I like you, Caroline. Some friendly advice from me to you. Choose differently."

She didn't know if he was referring to New Orleans or her relationship with Klaus. Either way his words were scaring her nonetheless.

"I mean, your mother is sheriff of Mystic Falls, right? Busy woman," he smiled. "I'm sure it would be easier if you just had the wedding closer to home." At the mention of her mother she gasped.

Just then a vampire came over to whisper in Marcel's ear. Caroline looked at the vampire and recalled his name to be Diego, one of Marcel's right hand men.

"Well sweetheart, if you'd excuse me." She didn't even realize they had stopped dancing until he took her hand and kissed her knuckles. "Think about what I said," he backed away with his arms spread, "but enjoy the rest of your engagement party, Caroline." With that he and Diego disappeared into the crowd.

The rest of your engagement party…

It occurred to her that Marcel really meant the remains of the party because when she finally glanced around she saw her party for what it really was. A massacre.

All the humans that had come that night were now dead. Blood trickled from their necks as they half dangled from the balconies above, or they laid in piles on the velvet furniture with their eyes frozen open.

Everywhere she turned there was death but the party kept going. The drinks kept pouring. The vampires continued to laugh.

She whirled around and witnessed the life dim in a human's eyes. The human reminded her of Matt and her heart broke at the sight as she watched more than one vampire latch onto him and drain him dry.

"Congratulations Caroline!" someone yelled but she couldn't spot who.

She turned around again, almost frantically. She could feel the beginnings of an anxiety attack crawling from her stomach and up her throat, begging for a release. She clutched at her chest as she searched for Klaus.

"Klaus!" she yelled over the music and the sound of her own voice scared her. She didn't sound like herself. She gasped for air.

"Hush. Calm down, Caroline. Breathe."

Caroline willingly went into Elijah's comforting embrace and at the same moment she saw Klaus emerge from behind the stage curtains. He looked pensive and his eyes scanned the club in obvious search of her. When their eyes finally locked she didn't know what sort of expression was on her face. She saw sympathy gather in his eyes. She saw regret in them. And then she looked away.

:

"Where the bloody hell were you?!"

"I could ask you the same thing, brother."

Caroline was now sitting in the parlor room of Bella Nuit with a blanket wrapped around her. A glass of bourbon was cradled in her hands and a fire warmed her. Sophie and Valentina had decided to retire for the night but Caroline remained in the room as she couldn't help but overhear Klaus yell at Elijah.

"When I took my leave behind the curtain I assumed you knew to stay with Caroline," Klaus angrily replied.

"And it was under my impression that we were to look after Sophie tonight. I wasn't aware Caroline needed a chaperone the entire evening. Tell me, Niklaus. Was that the first time that girl experienced an anxiety attack?"

Caroline held her breath as she waited for Klaus to reply but she heard nothing.

"Honestly brother, what were you thinking bringing her to this place?"

He must have answered without words, she thought.

"Careful, Elijah. The relationship I have with Caroline is none of your concern."

"Do not doubt me when I say this, Niklaus. I am truly happy you have finally found someone to share your life with. But until we resolve this issue with Marcellus, Caroline's life is at risk. Send her away until this is over."

"No."

"Why do you refuse?"

Caroline could hear the frustration in Elijah's voice.

"As you informed me, Stefan Salvatore has agreed to watch over her mother. I'm confident he'd be willing to watch over Caroline as well."

At the mention of Stefan, Caroline's eyes welled up as she recalled the phone call she had with him not even an hour ago.

The ride back to Bella Nuit was quiet at first until Klaus insisted that she explain in detail what had occurred between her and Marcel. When she explained the part about Marcel knowing about her mother, Klaus immediately dialed her sire's number. I promise you, Caroline. I will not let anything happen to her, Stefan had said.

"No, Elijah. Caroline is to stay with me. End of discussion."

She heard him leave the room and walk in the direction of her. Before she knew it he was kneeling in front of her.

"Caroline," his hand went to her cheek and he made her look at him. "Please forgive me, my love. I should have not left you for even a moment tonight." He took her hand in his and held it tightly. "It will never happen again. I promise you."

She didn't know why she responded the way she did but before she could take back her actions she threw her remaining drink at him, successfully drenching his apologetic face with bourbon.

Klaus blinked and then she heard him growl. He stood up and yanked her up with him. How dare you! he thought. He took in the scowl that was etched across her beautiful face and was about to yell but then he saw the tears she was trying to hold back. Sweetheart.

He loosened his grip and then tenderly wrapped her in his arms. Caroline sobbed into his chest. She was mad at him but at the same time felt safe in his embrace. She was confused by their relationship so when he pressed his lips to hers, she kissed him back.

:

It was late but Caroline was wide-awake. It had been a week since the night at Club Opera. She remembered that next morning Klaus had woken her with a kiss and promised her he would try to keep her from Marcel's company. I love you, Caroline. You mean the world to me.

To his credit, her life at school remained untouched by any drama. A sort of schedule had formed between them. During the day she attended her classes while he spent his time in the Quarter with Marcel. At night, however, she was his and he was hers and he wouldn't accept any other way.

Still, she had so many thoughts swimming in her head. She was worried for her mother despite Stefan's promise, she was still trying to adjust to Klaus' overbearing ways, and she had a whole bunch of midterms to study for. What kind of life was she living?

She felt Klaus's arm move from her waist and watched him roll over to his side still asleep. She sighed at the fact that he was able to sleep even with the threat of Marcel hanging over their heads.

She sat up against the headboard and began to check her emails on her phone. When she came across an email from Matt she smiled. She had been trying to reach him for days.

Care! Man I'm so sorry it's took me weeks to reply to you. I'm great! I'm sorry I didn't tell you I left with Rebekah, there's no need for you to worry about me though.

Europe is amazing, Care. I know you're not a fan of Rebekah but when you really get to know her she's okay. She's probably the most human out of all the Originals, or at least I think. Don't worry, I'm not falling in love with her.

About a week ago we ran into Elena and Damon in Madrid. She wasn't too happy with me being with Rebekah but as usual she got distracted with Damon again. When was the last time you two spoke? She told me she tried calling you a month ago.

So how are you and Klaus? Man I never thought I'd be asking you that question but I'm glad you told me. I hope you're doing okay. I hope you're happy.

I miss you, Care. And Tyler does too.

-Matt

Caroline's smile faded when she got to the end of Matt's email. Tyler? If she was honest with herself she hadn't thought much of him since she left with Klaus. Now she wondered if he was okay. They didn't exactly part on the greatest of terms and she winced at the memory.

She quietly slipped out from the covers of Klaus' bed, careful not to wake him, and tiptoed into her own room.

She climbed onto her bed and grabbed a textbook. There were so many emotions going through her at the moment but she didn't know how to deal with them or how to confront them. Why did Matt mention Tyler? And for the millionth time she questioned her rollercoaster relationship with Klaus, torn by her love for him and the fear of his lifestyle.

School, she thought. She decided to focus on school because at least that was something she could predict. By the light of her small bedroom lamp, she began to read chapters from the textbook, highlighting paragraphs and scribbling in side notes. With every page she turned she felt more at ease.

**You guys, it's so hard to write this sort of Klaroline relationship. Please don't be mad at me. Sigh.

Reviews are seriously appreciated though. Sorry for any grammar mistakes. (I live a beta-less life.) Feel free to vent but please no hate comments.

PS- Club Opera was inspired by a real nightclub in my city, Atlanta. Opera Nightclub is awesome. ;)
