He had to leave early in the morning and even though Bonnie wasn't at all a morning person, she still got up with him. Damon opted to take him where he needed to go, but Bonnie wanted to get one more goodbye in before he left.
"I love you, Bonnie, so much."
"I love you more."
Bonnie wrapped her arms around his neck and Stefan's arms tightened around her waist.
"I'll see you in eight weeks."
"Okay."
They pulled away from the hug and kissed.
"Here," Bonnie handed him an envelope, "it's a letter and a little something extra."
"A little something?" Stefan raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, but don't open it until you get there."
"Ugh, fine."
Bonnie laughed and kissed him again.
"I have something to give you too."
"What?"
Stefan reached on his back pocket and pulled out a navy blue velvet box. He opened it and pulled out a diamond ring.
"It's not an engagement ring, I want I propose on better conditions, but it's a promise ring. I, Stefan Salvatore, promise to love you, to care for you and to provide for you as much as I can and for as long as I can."
"And I, Bonnie Bennett," they cracked a smile, "promise to love you, care for you and provide for you as much as I can and for as long as I can."
Stefan smiled and slid the ring on her finger and pulled her in for another kiss. Damon honked his horn which made both roll their eyes and pull away.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
They kissed again before Stefan pulled away walking towards his brothers car. Once he threw his stuff in the back seat and climbed in and Damon pulled off. Bonnie waved after the truck until she couldn't see it anymore then turned around to go back inside.
She feels herself growing depressed so decided to go back to sleep. The smell of Stefan was still present on her sheets and she used his warmth to help her get some shut eye.
Hours later Bonnie woke up and took a shower. Caroline and Elena were coming over so they could shop for their college wardrobe. It was mainly a distraction, but it was also very much needed.
"Ready?"
"Yeah, let me just grab my purse."
The girls set out to the mall. They first went to Forever 21 and stared looking on the racks.
"Stefan left today, right?" Caroline brought up.
"Yeah he left early this morning."
"How was that like?" Elena wondered.
"Honestly, it wasn't as bad as I thought. I figured that I would've broken down, but I took it alright."
"How are you feeling now?"
"I'm a little depressed, but you guys being around helps." Bonnie gave a smile.
The girls smiled back and continued with their trip.

After a long day of shopping, they stopped by the food court to get something to eat.
"Alright, I know I'm not the only one thinking it, but are you and Stefan engaged?" Elena pointed out the ring on her finger.
Bonnie smiled down at it. "No, it's a promise ring. He said that he wanted to propose on better conditions."
"That's one hell of a promise ring, jeez." Caroline grabbed her hand and admired it for a while.
"So when does everyone start school?" Elena said after a while.
"Actually, I'm thinking about taking a semester off." Bonnie said. "I might have to move anyway because of Stefan so I don't want to start if I won't be able to finish, you know."
"Yeah that makes sense. Do your parents know?"
"Not yet, I was thinking about telling them today, hopefully they take it well."
"I don't see why they won't you have a reason."
"So, when do you start, Elena?" Bonnie changed the topic.
"Soon, very soon it's going to be so weird living in New York."
"Do you know anyone there?"
"Not really I mean I have a cousin that I've never met before, so I'm pretty much on my own."
"I'm sure that you'll make friends fast."
"I guess."
The girls laughed and got back to their meals. After eating, they all gathered at Elena's place for a movie and decided on a sleepover.

Stefan threw his stuff on his bunk and decided to open the letter that Bonnie had given him before he left.
Dear Stefan,
If you're reading this I assume you got there safely which is good. Well I'm sure that I would've told you this a million times (if not more), but I'm going to miss you and I already do. I never said this but thank you. Thank you for loving me and just being there for me through everything. You basically saved my life and now you get to save the lives of many by doing what you do. Anyway, I love you and try to have a good time without me and make new friends and whatever.
With love,
B.
Stefan smiled and picked up the other thing that was in the envelope. His eyebrows rose when he opened it and it was a picture of her in a skimpy dress and another in a bikini like he had requested. He flipped them over and saw that she kissed those too.
"Who's the hottie?"
"It's my girlfriend." Stefan stared at the picture a while longer before putting them back in the envelope. He stood up and shook the man's hand.
"Stefan Salvatore."
"Hey, I'm Justin Chapman."
"Nice to meet you."
"Likewise."

Bonnie was surprised that she actually got a good sleep. Maybe it had something to so with her being sandwiched between Elena and Caroline or her just thinking positive all day. She smiled when she thought about Stefan opening the envelop reading her letter then looking at the pictures. Thinking of the pictures, Bonnie snuck out of bed and dogged in her purse to grab her wallet. She smiled at the picture before turning it over and placing her lips on top of his.
"Have a good day, Stefan." Bonnie whispered.
"Have a good day, Bonnie." Stefan said after he kissed his picture and got out of bed.
