Bonnie was pacing the length of her room running through her was what she was going to say. She knew that they would freak out but she also knew that they would be supportive. Sucking in a breath Bonnie opened her door and eased downstairs.

Luckily they were on the couch watching TV so all she had to do was stand in front of them. They each gave her a strange look as she just stood there. Bonnie let out a breath and figured that she mind as well get it over with like ripping off a band aid.

"So I went to the doctors." Bonnie started.

"Yeah, we didn't get a chance to ask you how it went."

"Well, I know why I can't keep anything down and why I've been so tired lately."

"Why?"

Bonnie closed her eyes briefly. "I'm pregnant."

Bonnie saw their expressions come over their faces until they went straight. Bonnie smiled to try and lighten the mood a little but it didn't seem to work.

"Say something."

"I don't even know what to say." Vanessa finally spoke.

"How could you be so irresponsible?"

"Dad-"

"We talked about this and about being careful which is why I allowed you to go on birth control, Bonnie. What are you going to do now? Stefan is gone-"

"He's not gone, dad, he'll be back and when he gets back we'll talk it over."

"Are you going to abort it?" Vanessa asked.

"No, never, this is my child; I can't just kill him or her."

"Bonnie, I don't think that you're ready for such a responsibility. You're only nineteen, Stefan's in the military so you'll be raising it practically by yourself."

"So what are you trying to say?"

"What about adoption? You two can pick a lovely couple that's ready and when you two are in a stable enough condition then you two can try again."

"I'm not giving my baby away, dad. I can't just give him away without thinking about him 24/7, it's not gonna happen."

"There are open adoptions where you and Stefan can-"

"Enough, dad! God I thought that you would support my decision on this. You don't even want your own grandson or daughter?"

"Bonnie that's not what I'm trying to say. Bonnie!" Rudy called after her as she made her way back upstairs.

"I have to talk to her."

"No," Vanessa stopped him from getting up from the couch, "let me."

Stefan laid in bed after another hard day of PT staring at his picture of Bonnie. He wondered how she was doing without him because he knew if he didn't have so many distractions around him constantly, we would be going insane. Talking to Justin about Bonnie really helped him throughout the weeks and was glad that he met someone who would actually listen to what he had to say.

Turning the picture over, Stefan placed his lips on top of hers and he felt a little closer to her.

Bonnie was crying into her pillow when she heard a soft knock on the door. Her first thought was to tell whoever it was to go away, but it opened before she got the chance.

"I know that I haven't been much of a- I guess stepmom lately, but believe it or not I know what you're going through."

"You do?" Bonnie asked sitting up.

Vanessa nodded and sat by Bonnie on the bed.

"When I was about your age, I found out that I was pregnant too. My boyfriend at the time was so excited, we hadn't been trying, but it was a blessing nonetheless. When we told my parents they were angry and so disappointed. They didn't talk to me for a month, didn't acknowledge my existence, they didn't care for me."

"I think it's safe to say that they were more than plain ol angry they were damn heartless."

Vanessa smiled. "In a way I understood though, they ultimately like any parent wanted the best for their child and I having a baby would ruin all the plans that they had for me, you know."

"I guess."

"Anyway, I told them that I was keeping it and they could shun me for the rest of their lives and I wouldn't care."

"So what happened?" Bonnie asked growing curious.

"I had a miscarriage. I remember just sitting in my room and I felt a sharp pain and then there was blood. When I arrived at the hospital they told me that my baby was gone. That they were sorry and that there was nothing that they could've done."

"I had no idea."

"Nobody does." She admitted, "You're the only person that knows who isn't blood related."

"Not even my father?"

Vanessa shook her head, "Nope, it's not a story that I like to share, it just brings up the 'what if's'."

Bonnie looked down and placed her hands over her stomach.

"The moral of the story is that I want you to do whatever you want. I wanted to have my baby even when my parents would've done anything to stop me from doing so. Unfortunately, things didn't turn out as planned, but I tried." Vanessa grabbed Bonnie's hands in hers, "Bonnie, if you want to have this baby then have this baby. Don't let the outside world destroy your happiness."

"Thank you, Vanessa."

"Don't mention it." She smiled and stood up from the bed but before she left the room she turned around, "Your father means well, he's just shocked as am I, but give him time." And with that she left.

Bonnie smiled and placed her hands on her stomach running through her options.

The next day Bonnie met up with Caroline and Elena and told them how things went down. She told them about the whole argument and about Vanessa's story.

"Wow. Intense."

"Yeah."

"Well that nice of Vanessa to talk to you."

"Yeah, it really was." Bonnie said.

Her friends reminded her that no matter what, they'll be there for her and support her through thick and through thin on whatever she decides to do. Bonnie had already made up her mind though, she was keeping the baby and she knew that Stefan would want her to do so as well. She knew that it would be hard but she couldn't shake the feeling that it was the right thing to do.

"So when are you gonna tell Stefan?" Caroline asked.

"When he gets back. It's not something I want to tell him through a letter, you know."

"Anyway I can't wait to be an auntie to your little peanut!" Caroline practically squealed.

"Me too!" Elena agreed.

After an hour longer of conversation, the girls laughed and hugged before going their separate ways. When Bonnie returned home she headed straight for her room and laid on her back on her bed. Her hands were on her stomach as she thought about how excited Stefan would be when she told him the good news and his reaction. She smiled and got up walking over to her closet and pulled out one of his shirts. She slid it on and hugged herself tightly picturing that Stefan was there hugging her back.
