Bonnie's excitement was on a high not only would Stefan be home very soon but she just got back from another appointment and her doctor told her that everything was going great. The prenatal vitamins were a bitch, but Bonnie didn't care, she wanted their baby to be as healthy as possible.

She was grateful that she wasn't experiencing much morning sickness and she blamed that on staying active. She felt like she's been out more in the past couple of weeks than she has in a while. Staying in the house never seemed pleasing to her so she would always make plans to do something to avoid sitting around in the house all day.

She was glad to have friends like Caroline and Elena, she really doesn't know what she would do without them. They stuck by her during her mood swings, cooked for her, took her places that she needed and wanted to go, they were just there and by them being there she knew that they would be the best aunties ever.

Rudy came around like Vanessa had said and Bonnie felt like he was more excited than she was. He already started looking for cribs and getting ready to make one of the spare rooms a nursery. He would help her as much as he could usually by cooking which Bonnie enjoyed very much. Food just made her blissfully happy.

"So do you like the green or the orange?" Rudy asked as they were looking at the swatches on the wall.

"I like the orange; it's brighter, more babyish."

Rudy chuckled, "Yeah, good choice."

Bonnie reached in her back pocket and handed her father the ultrasound picture that she gotten earlier that day. She saw his eyes immediately fill with love and he covered his mouth with his hand. She smiled as he admired the picture before looking up at her with proud eyes.

"So when is my little niece or nephew due?"

"Sometime in April if everything goes right."

"It seems so far away doesn't it?"

"It does."

"Trust me, Bonnie; it's going to go by fast. Your mother and I thought we had time but those nine months flew by and before I knew it you were in my arms." Rudy smiled and ran his hand down her hair.

"Stefan comes home in tomorrow." Bonnie said grinning widely.

Rudy smiled. "Are you excited to tell him?"

"Yep, I figured out the perfect way to tell him too."

"How?"

"You'll see." Bonnie smiled and walked out the room.

Rudy shook his head with a smile on his face and got started on painting the room.

Bonnie wanted everything to be perfect for when Stefan got home so she made sure to clean her room until it literally sparkled. She smiled at her success while rubbing her stomach wanting the day to hurry up and be over with.

She had made plans with the girls to go over Caroline's house just to hang out and maybe go shopping. Ms. Forbes had been really helpful as well. She kept some of Caroline's old baby stuff so if she was having a girl she would give her some hammy downs and if it was a boy she'll give her all that she could. Caroline hugged her with a wide smile then rubbed her belly before taking her up to her room.

"Elena should be here in a few, she just texted."

"So are there any plans for today?" Bonnie asked getting situated on the bed.

"Not really, maybe stop at the mall and go out to eat?"

"Sounds good." Bonnie said with a smile.

When Elena arrived they headed to the mall. They had to stop at all the baby stores and just couldn't resist buying all the cutest things that they saw. They practically squealed at everything from clothes to shoes to hats and had to stop themselves from buying the whole store.

"So what do you think you're having?" Elena asked when they were checking out.

"I don't know I kind of want a little girl but I think it's a boy."

"Either way," Caroline said as they were walking out, "that baby will be the cutest thing ever."

Elena agreed and they walked over to the food court. They all decided on Chinese and after eating they headed back to Caroline's place.

Time was winding down fast and Bonnie wasn't sure if she would be able to sleep that night, but all those worries went away when she came home exhausted and feel asleep as soon as she hit the sheets.

Today was the day. Stefan returned from his training and Rudy and Vanessa swore that they've never seen Bonnie smile so much. While they went upstairs for a quick nap, Bonnie stayed downstairs looking out the window waiting for a black car to pull up to her house. It seemed like hours had passed before she saw it and when she did, Bonnie jumped off the couch and ran to the door.

When his car pulled up, everything seemed to move in slow motion.

When his foot first stepped out of the car to when his smile grew wide on his face when he spotted Bonnie. When Bonnie bounced on her heels then decided to run towards him with her arms wide open. When a loud kaboom entered her ear drums stunning the both of them. When Stefan's smile slowly faded from his face and his body started to lose the battle against gravity. To Bonnie's screams filling the air, to her cries. When her knees touched the ground beside his head scooping him up in her arms.

Everything seemed to go by so slow yet so fast at the same time.

"Stefan!"

"B-Bonnie" He struggled.

"Shh, save your breath." Bonnie said through tears.

"Bonnie-"

"You're a father, Stefan. I'm pregnant. There's a mini you or me inside me." Bonnie grabbed his hand and moved it to her stomach.

Stefan smiled and a tear fell from his eye. "I love you a-and our child."

"Stefan, please don't, please!" Bonnie cried harder when his eyes shut and she heard him breath out his last breath.

"Why did you do this?!" Bonnie screamed to the man holding the gun.

"Fuck the war!" He said and ran off.

"Fuck you! Fuck-" Bonnie couldn't get out another word, she was choking on her own tears.

"Oh my god, Bonnie!" Rudy said running to her side with Vanessa not far behind.

"Call 911!" Rudy shouted and Vanessa pulled out her phone and quickly dialed the number.

"Baby, what happened?"

"This man h-he" Bonnie couldn't get the rest out, but Rudy got the gist of it.

The sounds of sirens filled their ears and Bonnie went numb watching the paramedics wheel Stefan away in a gurney with his body covered in a white sheet. She clung to her father not believing what just happened was true. She wished that it was all a prank, a sick, twisted prank but if it was she wouldn't care because Stefan would be alive right know.

Black. All black. Black dresses, black suites. Black ties and black shoes. Black hats, black stockings.

Numb.

Bonnie couldn't feel, couldn't hear anything. The pastor up front was speaking and she couldn't hear a thing. His mouth was moving but no sound was coming out of it. She felt so alone even though almost everyone in Mystic Falls were seated behind her and all that she could do was just sit there. Bonnie felt her body moving against her own will and when she looked over she saw Caroline with a concerned look on her face.

"Bonnie, Bonnie." Caroline shook.

"What?" She asked confused.

"Would you like to say something?"

Bonnie looked around and all eyes were on her. Slowly, she stood up and walked a few paces before turning to face everyone. Tears stained the faces of many and that's when she realized that tears didn't stain hers. Her emotions were shut off so it honestly didn't surprise her.

"Stefan was-" Bonnie took a deep breath, "Stefan came into my life when I needed him most. I didn't even realize at the time that I needed someone to tell me that they loved me every day, hug me, kiss me, and just make me feel so protected that I probably could've jumped off a bridge and know that I would've been okay because Stefan was there to catch me. He made me feel wanted. He made me feel like I was good enough, that I was better than them all which now that I think about probably wasn't the best idea." Bonnie chuckled slightly looking down. "He was an amazing man who had big dreams and had plans and so much more life to live. I know that he would've been the best father out there and would spoil our baby rotten and would've made sure that their first word would've been 'dada' or 'daddy'." Bonnie halted and touched the tear than ran down the left side of her face feeling something for the first time in a long time.

"And if I give birth to a son or even daughter I would love nothing more than for them to grow up just like him. To have the same amount of care and passion and love like Stefan had and still does. That's all I ask."

Shots were fired into the air and a flag was folded and handed to her. She watched as the casket was descended slowly into the ground and cries filled her ears. She thought of his smile and his laugh and she couldn't believe that he was gone. That her one true love was gone.

"We love you too." Bonnie whispered.

She didn't want to leave that spot she begged to stay just so that she could be near him, but somehow she ended up home anyway. There was food and guests downstairs but she was upstairs locked in her room on her bed. Rubbing her stomach slightly, she breathed in her sheets and frowned when the smell of Stefan was absent. A smile came on her face as an idea popped into her head and she walked over to her closet pulling out one of his shirts from her closet and slid it on her body. It felt like his arms were around her again, hugging her and tear number two ran down her cheek.

"This is what daddy feels like." Bonnie said rubbing her stomach. "It feels good, doesn't it?" She smiled.

A/N: So I don't know about you but I cried.
