Lily turned towards to the door to see Remus looking worse than she had ever seen him, his skin looked as thin as tissue paper, his normally neat appearance seemed dishevelled. Silent tears ran down Remus' cheeks. Lily stood shakily and walked over to the sobbing werewolf and softly rapped her arms around his frail body. James let out a breath he didn't know he was holding when Lily finally broke the silence with a whispered,

"OK."

Two letters had never meant so much and Remus knew this. He knew how scared Lily was, how worried James was, so he knew how hard it was for them both for Lily to do this.

"Thank you Lily. Thank you so much." said Remus, he look visibly less stressed and he let his shoulders relax slightly.

Lily turned towards James still shaking and asked "So how do I do this?"

James stood and walked slowly towards Lily until he was only a foot away then he threw his arms around her and tried very hard to pick her up but as he was in Lily's body he didn't have the strength to lift his own weight.

"You are so brave Lily Evans you could have walked away you could have outright refused but you didn't. You were willing to risk your life to help your friend." James paused for a minuite before yelling "You're a Marauder Evans! You willing to do stupid and dangerous things for your friends!"

"Oh yay does this mean that I get an idiotic nickname?" Lily chuckled

"Yeah!" James said enthusiastically, ignoring her sarcasm "What's your patronus?"

Lilys face turned the same shade of crimson as her firery hair as she said " Ive never done a patronus before"

"It doesn't matter Evans we can tea…"began James

"Wait a minute Lily we did the patronus charm in Flitwicks advanced charms last term! You came top?! Why are you lying?" Remus said looking sceptical

"I didn't lie Remus. I just forgot that's all." Lily said avoiding Remus' eyes

"Whats your patronus Evans? Why would you be embarrassed by your patronus? Is it because your muggle born is it a pikimom? Those weird muggle things? Like that little electric powered yellow thing?"

Lily laughed heartily " You mean a pokemon James. My patronus isn't Pikachu!"

" Then why wont you tell me" James whined, giving Lily her best puppy dog eyes

"Fine. Why are you so annoying Potter!" Lily gulped slightly.

"Don't change the subject Lily" Remus said proding her softly in the ribs.

"OK. Fine" Lily said grumpily "My patronus is… a doe."

The room was silent except for the sound of the cogs in James's head turning. Before a smirk spread across his face "A doe, like a female deer?"

"Yeah so!" snapped Lily blushing

"See Evans we really are perfect for each other."

"Don't start with the flirting bollock Potter I was just starting to like you!"

"You were starting to like me" James said cheekily

"Don't you too start that Evans/Potter malarkey again you just got on a first name basis"
