Hermione's POV

I have to say that when we were called at the war council I was prepared for the worst case scenario, which was nothing compared to what happened.

Lou Ellen, the head councilor of Hecate's Cabin came to pick us up from the Arena. Honestly I couldn't understand why the boys were getting so excited about watching kids trying to rip each other to shreds or stab them to death. Haven't we seen enough violence during our war with Voldemort? Wasn't that enough? When I had said that to them, Harry had argued back: "If we could move and fight like they do, then a lot of people wouldn't have died." Now how was I supposed to argue with that?

- What do they want us for? Harry asked as we headed towards the Big House.

- You will find out soon enough. Was all Lou Ellen said. Even though she was a daughter of Hecate and therefore should have a soft spot for fellow wizards like ourselves, she didn't seem to trust us very much. I could only assume that Sofia had told them stories about us that weren't exactly good.

When I saw the white wolf assaulting that boy I had unpetrified, I was certain. Sofia was a demigod that had a quest when she and that other boy got in the middle of our war with Voldemort. That explained why she wasn't afraid of the man and the fact that she wanted to return the Hallows to their owner.

At first I had thought that she was toying with us, but now I knew better. However we hadn't parted ways in the best of terms. I could help myself but fear our encounter with her. Especially now that she was attacked by wizards, again.

Most of my questions about the girl's true identity and motives were answered when we stumbled across this camp. For once Ron's clumsiness with spells was proved extremely useful, not that I was ever going to tell him that. He would boast about it and he wouldn't try to improve himself at all.

As we got to the Big House we found a couple of kids trying to eavesdrop at the discussion that was going on inside. Harry recognized them as some of Hermes' sons. He was sharing a bunk with the eldest of the bunch.

- Aren't you supposed to have other things to do right now? Lou Ellen calmly asked and the kids scattered away. She didn't give them a second thought and quickly crossed the distance of the front porch and disappeared through the door. Even from outside I could hear the heated conversation that was currently going on inside.

- Chiron, we should at least give her some time to train! She won't make it if she leaves now! A girl's voice protested in desperation.

- Sofia, you must understand that she is a Roman and as such…

- She's also a Greek! She has every right to be here like everyone else! I'm not asking much. Just… let's wait until Jason and Piper come back from New Rome! Two weeks! That's all I'm asking! She nearly begged. I wondered what that was about. Obviously this was an important matter since Chiron was silent for a while.

We followed Lou Ellen into a room, filled to the brim with teens, sitting around at ping pong table, the sight was absolute chaos. Well… a quite organized chaos if I was to believe the crazy stories I had heard from campers during the campfire sing-along.

- I think that might be a good idea. Said Percy Jackson or, as Ron had dubbed him, Harry's Twin Brother. If Zoe's personality is what Sofia's says it is… there's a good chance that she might not make it. He added thoughtfully. I noticed Sofia giving him a grateful look before noticing us. She shot from her chair and drew her sword.

- What are you doing here? She hissed and I felt the urge to run away, crawl into the safest corner of Hermes' Cabin and stay there until her anger subsided. I've never seen a person radiate a more angry and powerful light before. She was literally shinning with a brilliant golden light. Clarisse snorted from where she was sitting and caught her armed hand.

- As much as I would love to see you kicking their buts I'm afraid you will have to wait to do it later. She said to Sofia and looked at us sneering. They may have some useful info on what you want to do. Sofia never stopped glaring at our direction, but she sheathed her sword and sat next to the daughter of the War God and the girl that was the Counselor for Apollo's Cabin.

- Ah, Thank you Lou Ellen. The Hecate's counselor nodded to Chiron and took her seat at the ping pong table.

- Please have a seat; this could take quite some time. The centaur said, motioning for us to sit. Then he turned his attention to Sofia again.

- If Percy agrees with this, then I suppose we could delay her journey to the Wolf House. When Jason and Piper return in two weeks time, you may escort her there. He said with finality as they reached a decision about some other female that I could only guess was Zoe, which was claimed that morning. …But Sofia, you cannot keep her away from that part of her heritage forever. You must have faith in her. The old centaur warned her.

- I know. It's just… she never had much of a fighting spirit. I want her to face Lupa with as much experience as possible. She mumbled a little embarrassed.

- Well then… Now that you three are here we can proceed. Chiron looked at us and the attention sifted from Sofia. Now everybody was fixed on us. Some more aggressively than others.

- As you have probably heard already, yesterday Sofia and her siblings were ambushed by wizards, while they were at Greece. They tried to capture all of them but, in the end, they only managed to turn Michael into stone and kidnapped Sofia's mortal sister. We do not know why they did it but we do know how they were able to find them. They had placed a tracking spell on Sofia.

- What?!

- Then that means they know where all of us are!

- Good! I want to smash a few of them, so they can try and attack!

Chaos erupted from Chiron's revelations. The demigods were upset in the mere thought that their only safe place could be known to the enemy. In this case us wizards.

- SILENCE! Chiron ordered and immediately they stopped talking. Lou Ellen was able to cancel the spell as soon as Sofia was within the borders. There's a good chance that they do not know the exact location.

- And even if they did, they shouldn't be able to break through the barrier. Travis Stoll commented. Or maybe it was Connor. I was never able to tell them apart.

- That werewolf was able to. Percy said thoughtful. What was his name again?

- Greyback. Annabeth said surprised that Percy had said something smart.

- He was a werewolf, Percy. He was probably in due to an extra challenge or something. Katie Gardner argued.

- No, he was a wizard as well. I killed him during their battle at the castle. They have many skills and Greyback wasn't the brightest of them. Sofia said. What I really want to know is why you attacked us? And where is my sister? She hissed at us, her voice as hard as steel.

- We don't know! Honestly we've been here for a week and you were attacked yesterday! I exclaimed irritated. And besides what makes you think we know why the Ministry would attack you? She scowled at that.

- I know that you three are extremely famous and important in your society. If you remember I was there when you mourned for Harry. I was there when he killed Voldemort. I was there when you said you couldn't trust me! She spat. I sifted uncomfortably. She didn't seem to have forgotten that I had tried to prevent Harry from giving her the wand. And she wasn't that far from the truth.

After Kingsley was appointed Minister we had our way in the Ministry and Kingsley often listened to our advice. It was true that I didn't trusted her at the time and I had suggested we place a modified Tracer on her, just to make sure she wouldn't turn against us without knowing where she was. In fact I had a feeling she would try and escape when she was able to move again, after the Battle of Hogwarts.

But now I honestly had no idea why Kingsley or anyone else would attack her and try to capture her or her siblings. I took a deep breath to muster my courage and concentrate.

- I honestly don't know. We might be able to know more than the rest of the wizards in England, but I have no idea why the Minister would order an attack on you.

- So you knew she was being monitored. Annabeth exclaimed.

- No!...

- You're not telling the whole truth. Chiron noted, sensing the hesitation in my voice. - I had suggested that we should place a tracking spell on Sofia while she was in England after the Battle of Hogwarts. But nobody told me they had actually done it. You must understand that at the time we knew nothing…

- There's no need to make excuses for what you did. Chiron interrupted me. At the time you were in war and anyone you didn't know was a possible threat. I can understand that, even though I do not appreciate having my students tracked down like some wild beast. His tone made it clear enough.

- But she is a beast! Travis and Connor snickered in unison. Sofia glared at them.

- Want to find out? She asked with a wolfish smile. The Twins shivered.

- No thanks! They quickly said and Travis cowered behind Katie Gardner. Ron next to me snickered, but it was a humorless one. I could tell he was envy of the two brothers. Losing Fred was extremely painful for him, for all of us. Seeing the two brothers so carefree and ready for a prank, reminded him of Fred and George when we were studying at Hogwarts. Chiron sighed.

- Let's get back to the point. This act could possibly lead to aggression.

- Possibly?! Sofia yelled in disbelief. They attacked and kidnapped my sister! I for once can take this as an act of war!

- Wow! Clarisse is really rubbing off on you! Percy muttered.

- Got a problem with that Prissy? Clarisse challenged.

- No! Actually I agree with you on this one. He said quickly. Chiron that attack was uncalled for. If they don't want a war then they better have a very good explanation for that.

- Hang on! There's no reason to start a war just like that! Harry protested. Let us go and talk with Kingsley. He will listen to us. We can find out where your sister is and return her to you.

- I'm sure this is all a misunderstanding. Ron agreed.

- And who says you won't just leave and join the rest of the wizards? A guy with a military haircut and a rainbow tattoo on his shoulder inquired.

- You have our word. Harry said confident. A few snorts were heard. The Stolls even laughed at that.

- Sorry man but your word doesn't count for much. We need something more solid than that. Travis said between fits of laughter.

- And even then we're not sure we can trust you. His brother agreed.

- Harry would never lie! I exclaimed scandalized. And neither would I and Ron!

- Maybe… But we've been tricked before. Percy said solemnly.

- It doesn't matter. We should talk with the authorities of your world. Chiron said, but he seemed troubled.

- I can't wait that long Chiron. They communicate through owls! It will take ages before we're able to make a proper discussion. I need to go now! Sofia argued.

- Sofia! The gods do not approve of this! Chiron shouted at her. For a moment every demigod in the room looked stunned. Sofia even more so than the rest. Apparently the old centaur never loses his temper like that. Chiron grimaced.

- You have been trying to find your sister in your dreams….

- How did you…? Chiron waved her aside and continued.

- You asked your Father and Lady Artemis to bless your pursuit of the wizards and they denied it. They didn't even accept your offerings, which has never been done in centuries. Said the centaur, referring to the smell of burnt food the offerings of Sofia had produced that morning. There must be a good reason for this. I must ask you to be patient. I will contact the Council and see what they have to say in the matter. But you are under no circumstance to leave the camp without my permission. Am I clear? Sofia's jaw clenched tight and her body stiffened.

- Fine! She finally said through her teeth. Though she clearly wasn't happy about it, she made no attempt to disobey the centaur. Chiron nodded in relief.

- Well then…if there are no further objections I believe this meeting is over. He looked at each and every one of the counselors inside the room, but they remained silent.

- Good. It's time for dinner so I suggest we all get going. He said with finality and wheeled out of the room. It was really weird to see an Undetectable Extension charm being used to conceal his horse half inside a wheel chair. Most wizards, including myself, used it to create magic tents, or increase ones storing space. Apparently demigods had other uses for it instead of just using it to store items in a small space. Now that she thought about it, she hadn't seen the spell being used at all. Their storage was always in real size. I had to stop this thought right there as Sofia stormed up to us, followed by Clarisse LaRue.

- You will only get warned once! If you harm any of my friends and siblings, and that applies to the entire camp, in any way, I will personally make sure you wish you hadn't ever thought about that! She said in a low voice and I could swear that she was also growling at us. Her eyes were pure gold and they were no longer human. They were feral and suddenly an image of Lupin crossed through my mind and that's when I knew.

She was a wolf, like he was. But she was no werewolf, she wasn't afraid of what she was and that was what made her so powerful and terrifying. Right now, I was more afraid of Sofia than when she faced Lupin during the full moon back in her third year in Hogwarts. Clarisse next to her gave us a smug smile.

- See you around Ginger! She said as she bumped hard against Ron, who was standing next to the door. A blonde young man with a surfer's built followed suit after them and he gave us an apologetic look, before he too left the building.

- That went well. Harry remarked sarcastically when all of the demigods were gone.

- Dude what do you think it's going on back home? Ron asked, trying to overcome his shock. It was no secret that Clarisse LaRue gave him the goose bombs.

- I don't know Ron. But if we don't get back real soon, things are going to get much worse. He said shaking his head grimly.

- There's only one thing we can do right now. They looked at me eagerly. I was always the mastermind in having plans, giving the smartest solution to any problem, but, right now, this wasn't how I felt. I took a deep breath to gather up my thoughts. If we try to escape this will look like we are part of the abduction team. What we really need right now is to stay and convince them that the wizarding world isn't a threat that must be eliminated.

- And how do we do that?

- Think Ron! Until yesterday we were making friends with them. We need to keep this up and help Chiron in any possible way in his efforts to negotiate with the Ministry. Kingsley listens to us. If we stay in this side of the world…

- Then we can make sure the negotiations go smooth! Hermione you're brilliant! Harry completed my thought.

- Without our wands we are no threat to them and they know it. So it would be easier for them to trust that we don't use magic to affect their decisions. I added.

- Alright. But you heard Sofia. She doesn't trust us, so if we're going to do as you say then we have to start making friends with her. Ron pointed out.

- That might be a bit tricky. Harry commented troubled.

- Sofia needs to calm down first before we make any attempts in approaching her. Right now she's stressed with something else considering one of her friends. I can only guess that is Zoe, the girl that left the Dining Pavilion this morning, when the wind spirit appeared.

- Alright, then we keep our distances form Zoe as well. We don't want Sofia to think we are up to something with her. Harry said.

- Ok, can we go now? If we keep this up they will definitely think we're up to something. Ron changed the subject a bit too eager.

- That and your stomach's hungry mate! Harry laughed and with our foul mood broken we made our way to the Dining Pavilion as well.

Sofia's POV

As soon as we arrived at the Dining Pavilion everybody kept their distances from me, except Nora who, as always, had a knack for placing herself in dangerous situations.

- Soo… I guess things didn't go your way? She asked with a smirk and locked her arm around my neck.

- Not really. I groaned. At least, got two weeks to prepare Zoe for Lupa and the Romans….

- But? She inquired.

- I can't leave for England without the Gods' permit. I'm basically grounded here! I said angry, stabbing at my food. Nora snickered.

- Hey don't kill me! I just think it's funny to ground someone that has the ability to travel all the way to England and back in the blink of an eye. She backed up due to my glare.

- Can't do anything like disappear for a couple of minutes. I gave Chiron my word. I told her, my anger now turning into a sorrow and helplessness. Maria could be injured or worse and I couldn't look for her. I couldn't find her and I had no idea what the wizards had in store for her. It was driving me mad! Whenever I didn't want to have glimpses of the future I dreamt them all the time. Now that I really needed to know where my sister was or what had happened to her, I had no dreams at all!

- Hey… You know we're here for you right? She asked worried after I remained silent, not really eating my food. I looked up at her.

- You just give the word and we're outta here. If you can't leave them why not send us to look for her?

- That's a great idea! Michael agreed with her. I gaped at them, not believing what I had just heard. They had actually volunteered to go on hostile territory to find my sister in my place.

- Close your mouth, Light bulb! You look like a goldfish! Clarisse ordered from her seat next to Leonidas. Ares' table is placed next ours so she was sitting right behind me.

- Hey! I whined and she smirked.

- I'm in! I want to kick some wizarding butts! She said with a wistful look on her face.

- I can go too. At least I know where to start looking. Leo volunteered.

- I'm really moved you guys. But are you really sure?

- You're kidding right?! Nora asked bewildered. Of course we're sure! Maria is our sister too… in a way.

- And besides we don't want you to go nuts worrying. I had my fair share of nutty wolves in this life! Leonidas added with a smile and I shuddered. Going up against some wizard werewolves during our quest was one of the things I would rather forget.

- Alright then. Let's start planning after Capture the flag tomorrow. Maybe I will be able to see something about my sister tonight. I agreed, seeing how determined they were.

- Or maybe Chiron will find out you're planning a quest behind his back. Will commented suddenly, turning his attention from Kayla and the conversation he was listening to.

- Oh come on Will! You really want Maria to spend another day in the wizards' hands? You saw what they did to Michael! Nora protested. He shook his head.

- No, but I don't want to see any of you get captured as well or even worse…

- That won't happen! Michael and Nora said in defiance. Will just shook his head.

- Don't do anything stupid. I will know if you do. He warned and turned his attention to the others.

After that Chiron announced it was time for the Campfire singing and so we made our way towards the Amphitheatre. Zoe was next to me in no time, her new belt gleaming in the firelight.

- Hey! So how did it go? She asked with a smile, though it looked a little fake.

- Bet they told that when I glow it's no a good sign. I commented and she sweatdropped.

- You know me too well! She said and her tension broke. I smiled.

- I didn't like it much but you won't be leaving for the Romans until Jason and Piper get back from Camp Jupiter. That's in two weeks time from now so we have sometime together until then. Got some armour yet? I asked keeping the subject of my sister at bay.

- Sure, Jake Sommery from the Athena Cabin helped me with that. He said that I could keep it unless I was afraid the Stolls might steal it.

- It's not just the Stolls you should keep an eye out for armour theft. All the Herme's kids are skilled thieves. I informed her. So you're all set about tomorrow's Capture the Flag. Which team are you going to be on?

- I was thinking I could join your team, if it's okay with everybody else. I'd really hate it to have to fight you. She said a little down.

- Yeah, you would get your butt kicked before you could even realize it! I commented and she gave an undignified "Hey!" I laughed at her expression.

- Don't worry. We're up against extremely skilled fighters. I'm probably going to get my ass kicked by Clarisse and Leonidas, or maybe even Percy and Annabeth. Not that I'm ever going to admit that in front of them.

- That's reassuring! She said and the night went on.
