The landlady of 221B flustered about the room as the one of the gentlemen paced while the other stood still.
"John won't be back until a little while, are you sure you two dears wouldn't like a cup of tea?" She asked as the one with the bow tie riffled through papers on the table. The other one, dressed in what Mrs. Hudson found to be a rather worn and gruby looking trench coat, stood awkwardly in the corner of the room.
"No thank you Mrs. Hudson," The man with the bow tie responded sending her a warm smile. "May I ask where exactly John went off to?"
"Scotland yard to visit Inspector Lestrade. He's sorting out some of Sherlock's business." A very sullen expression sank on her features. One only Castiel noticed seeing as the skull on the mantle piece now distracted The Doctor.
"Do you remember a young man who would have stayed with Sherlock and John? He would have been American. Probably drank a lot and talked about cars. Maybe came home with a few bruises now and then. He would have been working with Sherlock on some sort of case." Doctor asked as he played with the skull.
Mrs. Hudson nodded "You mean Dean Winchester don't you?" her voice sounded solemn and caught the attention of both the timelord and the angel.
"Yes, that is exactly who I mean. What's wrong?" The Doctor had set the skull down and was now face to face with her. "Did something happen to Dean?"
Mrs. Hudson was about to answer when the door to the flat swung open and John Watson came running in. "Doctor!" he announced with a smile as he greeted the old friend. John switched the cane to his left hand and held his right out for the doctor to shake. It did not go unnoticed by the timelord.
"John." He smiled back warmly and took Johns hand in both of his. "Lovely to see you again!"
Silence spread through group as John noticed the trench coated man in the corner of the room. "It's you," He said quietly and his face grew pale. He looked to both the Doctor and Mrs. Hudson to ensure he wasn't the only one seeing him. "You are not supposed to be real."
The Doctor looked back to the landlady and gave a half-hearted smile as all the strings began pulling together in his head. "Mrs. Hudson, I think we'll have that tea now."
