"So Kanda has gone." Komui muses, head on his desk. Reever glances down at his papers, and nods.
"Well yes, Chief Komui- what do you want us to do about this? Two of our best exorcists, just gone." Reever asks, obviously troubled.
"Transfer an allowable sum from my personal accounts into Allen Walker's." Komui says in reply.
Reever simply nods, rather used to Komui's habits by now, even if he didn't quite understand them. Or the reasoning behind them for that matter.
"So, you've started looking eh?" Komui mutters, going back to his file once Reever had left the room.
"Just be safe." He says quietly, deep in thought.
Anita had a piano, in her back room. As soon as it was mentioned Allen visably grew a tad more excited, practically vibrating as she asked to play it. Anita smiled, leading both into that sun filled room.
Kanda glances over at Anita, waiting for her reaction to Allen's playing. It didn't really disappoint, as the opening chords of Hijo De La Luna- a song that Allen and Kanda had played together multiple times- Anita grows quiet, her eyes glued to Allen's fingers dancing across the keys.
Kanda didn't blame her. Allen Walker did this thing where she never ever played the same song the same way twice. She could turn an otherwise happy song into the happiest most tragic thing you've ever heard. Hijo De La Luna, it wasn't exactly one of those instances, the normally upbeat, slightly melancholy song was completely transformed. Kanda didn't know how she did it. He honestly didn't. Neither did Anita apparently.
Allen was happy, playing the piano. A real piano, instead of her beat up keyboard. She lets her fingers glide across the keys, picking out notes here and there, adding a bit of this and subtracting some of that. She loved it. She loved the sound, how she felt when caught up in the song. It was peaceful, the only real peace she had.
The last notes fade away, and Allen pauses, not quite sure what to do. Anita was crying, Kanda had that same neutral expression he always held.
"Allen. That was beautiful." Anita's voice was quiet, reverent even.
But Allen had already started playing again.
I have no excuse, for the long wait for this rather pathetic update.
But at least its something.
Sorry guys :(
Aariah out.
