January 19, 2013

It was midnight and Gabriella couldn't fall asleep if it killed her. She tried counting sheep, turning on the TV, reading a book, walking around the kitchen, turning off the TV, and everything else you could imagine. At 26 weeks, the baby was kicking more. It felt like it was just running in place and sometimes it was upside down.

Since she didn't have school, she was walking around during the day a lot more. She and Troy took a day to register for some things at Babies-R-Us. He was in the middle of basketball season and she was restless. There was a bit of tension between them that they just couldn't get over.

She rolled out of bed. She took her pillow and her pregnancy pillow and decided to cuddle up to Troy. She walked out of her room, closing the door behind her quietly. She walked down the hall towards Troy's room. She yawned silently before reaching for the doorknob.

"Oh dear god." She said rather loudly when she opened the door. She dropped her pillows and covered her eyes.

Troy was not sleeping as she expected him to be. He was the exact opposite, very awake. He was also very naked, very hard, and apparently very horny. When Troy heard her at the door, he picked up his sheets and wrapped it around himself. He was completely embarrassed.

Troy had gotten the point and pushed aside his feelings and his pride. They weren't going to be together now, but that didn't mean he lost all hope for the future. That meant he would have a lot more nights like these- hopefully next time she won't walk in on it.

"I'm sorry. I should have knocked. I thought you were sleeping." Gabriella said, mortified. She couldn't think of anything else to say.

Troy got up quickly, pulling some boxers around his waist. "I'm sorry." He said. "I'm just going to…" He said awkwardly, trying to get past her.

She slid her hands down her face, making sure he was now covered. "Sorry." She repeated, moving out of his was. That was a bad idea, she mused. She picked up her pillows and walked back into her bedroom shutting the door behind her.

Gabriella threw her pillows on her bed and climbed back in. Every time she closed her eyes she saw his naked body on the bed. She willed herself to think about everything but what she just walked in on. Kittens, Baby Elephants, Camels… all of it lead back to him. She sighed aloud.

Troy stood in the bathroom, trying to think of some way to apologize to her. He felt like it could either be really bad and they could never be the same again. It could go really well on the other hand and they can forget that it ever happened. It wasn't that big of a deal. Was it? He was just being dramatic.

He stepped into the shower. He needed a moment of clarity before he went to bed. After taking his time, he dried himself off, walking back to his room. He put a clean pair of boxers on and then sweats. Before he actually got to bed he left his room again.

He crept over to Gabriella's, opening the door just a peak. She didn't stir. He opened the door, walking over to her bed. She was asleep, rosy cheeked with a hand resting protectively on her bump. He was glad she finally got to sleep. He moved a piece of hair out of her face and kissed her cheek. He pulled her covers over her so she didn't get too cold. He slipped out of her room and went back into his own.

Gabriella was lulled awake by Taylor who was shaking her gently. "Gabriella. Wake up." Taylor sang softly. "We should go to breakfast. Me, you and Shar. We need girl time."

"As long as we go somewhere with French toast." She murmured, turning to her back. She groaned as she became uncomfortable and needed to sit up. "Do yourself a favor. Never get pregnant until you hate your life so much a little extra pain in the ass won't do you any harm."

Taylor sighed. "Come on Grump, I'll let you have decaf."

"Can I wear sweatpants?"

"You could wear whatever you want honey." Taylor said with a small smile.

"How do you put up with me?" Gabriella wondered, stretching out her back. The baby in side her seemed to be doing the same.

Taylor's smile widened. "I love you. I'm your best friend. It's my job. I want to be it's god mother. That blonde bitch is trying to steal my title."

Gabriella giggled, getting up. "You have nothing to worry about Tay… As long as same goes for me when Chad gets you pregnant."

"Duh." She said. "Come on."

"Let me get dressed." Gabriella said, rubbing her tummy. "And I need to pee."

"I'll be making sure Sharpay isn't fashionably late."

The three girls slid into their booth, Gabriella alone while Taylor and Sharpay were across from her. She picked up her menu eagerly and licked her lips as she read through some of the choices. She hummed to herself. She looked at her friends who were staring at her.

"What?" Gabriella asked, blankly.

"What's up with you?" Sharpay asked.

"Nothing."

"I promised her Decaf." Taylor explained.

Sharpay rolled her eyes. "You would get happy over coffee."

Gabi laughed. "Don't judge me until you have caffeine withdrawals... then you'll understand."

The girls giggled together. Sharpay decided to take advantage of Gabriella's good mood. "What's new? What's going on with you and Bolton? Are you still green with jealousy over Julie?"

"Well first off, Julie plays for the other team." Gabriella said with an amused smirk.

"What?" Sharpay choked.

"She's a straight up lesbian." Taylor said, looking over at Sharpay. "She was making out with a girl on New Years."

"And I'm just hearing about this WHY?"

"Must have slipped my mind." Gabi said with a shrug.

"I get you but McKessie! What the hell?" The blonde shoved the girl next to her.

"Sorry, we haven't really talked about it. Damn." Taylor rubbed her shoulder.

"Anyway, I had an interesting night last night." Gabriella said, spotting the picture of French toast.

"Did you and Bolton do it again?"

Gabriella rolled her eyes. "Why does it always have to come back to that?"

They were cut off by a peppy voice. "Hi! What can I get for you ladies?" A waitress walked up to their table.

"Three coffees, one of them decaf. An orange juice as well." Gabriella initiated, glancing to her friends. "I want the French toast, with scrambled eggs and hash browns." She handed her menu over to the waitress after she finished scribbling on her pad.

"California Omelet." Sharpay said with a tight smile.

"I'll have a waffle with strawberries." Taylor said. "Thank you."

"I'll be back with your coffee in just a minute." The waitress said before walking away.

"So what happened last night?"

Gabriella giggled quietly to herself. "It was mortifying last night but I can't help but laugh about it now."

Taylor smiled. "What happened?"

"Here is your coffee. Decaf is in the black mug. If you need anything else, I'm Elise."

"Thank you." Sharpay said, reaching over for a handful of French Vanilla creamer. "Tell us what happened already."

"I caught Troy… you know."

"What?" Sharpay asked, confused. She started opening them, pouring them in her cup.

"I caught him… Jerking off." She made the motion with her fist.

Taylor spit out her coffee. "Excuse me?"

"You know… choking the chicken…. beating off…. Wanking if you will."

They quietly stared at each other before the three girls burst into laughter. Gabriella squeezed her thighs together to fight the urge to pee. Sharpay snorted and covered her face, making them all laugh harder. Taylor was almost crying, she was laughing so hard.

"I can't believe it." Taylor said once they calmed down.

"What even… How did it even happen?" Sharpay asked.

Gabriella shrugged, pouring a sugar in her coffee. She stirred it up. "I couldn't sleep so I was going to cuddle with him. It was like midnight and I got up. I thought he was sleeping so I opened the door and he was bare assed naked with a fist full of-"

"We get it!" Taylor said cutting her off.

"So anyway, I didn't know what to say. I mean I never walked in on anyone doing that. He went into the bathroom and I walked into my room and laid back down. I guess I fell asleep."

"You guys are more complicated than anyone I've ever met before." Sharpay said with a sigh.

Gabriella rolled her eyes. "Tell me about it."

"I have some exciting news!" Sharpay said with a smile. "Zekey and I finally set a date."

The other two girls gasped in excitement. "No way! When?" Gabi asked.

"September 23rd of next year."

"That's perfect!" Taylor said with a smile. "I can't wait to get really planning."

"You're telling me! Everything we've been doing now is just a tease."

"I'm not going to be fat for your wedding. Bless you Sharpay Ingrid Evans." Gabriella put her hand on top of her friends with a wide smile.

Sharpay smiled. "I'm glad you liked that."

"I missed you guys. I feel like I'm so wrapped up in my own emotional issues. I should spend more time with you guys before the baby comes." Gabriella decided.

"Of course! We can have sleepovers at mine!" Sharpay said excitedly. "Now that you aren't going to school, we can go shopping and walk around the city… I'll show you my portfolio! I can design some maternity dresses for you!"

"That actually sounds really fun." Gabriella shrugged.

Sharpay squealed. "I'm so excited! What do you think Tay?"

Taylor smiled. "We can use that time to plan your wedding too!"

"I can't wait." Gabi said with an optimistic smile.

February 16, 2013

Gabriella sighed, looking around her empty house. Taylor and Chad were down in Monterey celebrating their Valentine's Day. Troy was at an away game. Gabriella was bored. She'd been bored all morning. She took a nap and did some light cleaning. She read through her book again. She couldn't believe she was already 30 weeks pregnant.

Her once small belly was growing rapidly as the baby inside of it. The doctor said the baby was still small and that she was getting bigger. That terrified her to no end. She didn't want to be that big forever. She rubbed her belly. The baby wasn't moving so much at the moment. She started dozing off on the couch.

The front door slammed which made her jump out of her skin and pee a little. "This whole trip was a stupid idea!" Taylor said. Gabriella watched as she passed by. Taylor was fuming.

"God, Taylor, what the hell was that all about?" Gabriella asked.

"Let me tell you what it was about." Taylor said as she noticed Gabriella on the couch. "That man is infuriating."

The door was slammed again. "You're infuriating, Taylor. Nothing will ever be good enough for you!" Chad said.

"Whoa, hey, what happened?" Gabriella asked, sitting up. Chad and Taylor both started talking at the same time. Gabriella blinked from one to the other trying to make out what each was saying. "Whoa, whoa, one at a time."

"Forget it Gabi! I'm out of here!" Chad said turning on his heel. He walked out of the door and slammed it behind him.

Gabriella flinched. Taylor took a seat on the couch. She put her hand on her forehead, something she did when she was upset. "Hey, whatever it is, you guys will work it out." Gabriella said softly.

Taylor sighed. "I don't want to be here right now. Can we go to Sharpay's or something?"

"Yeah, let me just get in the shower. I've been lazing around all day."

"Yeah, I'll get changed too. Maybe we can go out later." Taylor said, separating from her friend.

Gabriella got into the shower and got out. She put on a dress with some leggings and boots. She left her hair down letting it curl naturally. She wrapped a scarf around her neck . Since she got pregnant her skin was flawless, she didn't even have to wear make up. She just put a little lipstick on.

She walked out and was met by Taylor. "Hey, you look pretty."

Gabriella smiled . "Thanks. I feel good today. Maybe because I've done nothing all day."

Taylor cracked a smile. "Let's get going." Gabriella grabbed her purse and her keys to the truck. "Good, I was going to have you drive anyway. I'm emotionally distressed."

"Okay." Gabriella said wearily. She walked out to the truck and climbed in. The first part of the drive was quiet. Gabriella turned on the radio. Taylor sighed and looked out the window. Gabriella bit back her thoughts and drove the rest of the way to Sharpay's without any comments.

Taylor and Gabriella got out after parking in one of Sharpay's spots. "Shit! Gab can you go back and get my purse, I'll meet you up there."

"No problem." Gabriella said. She turned on her heel and walked back to her car. She opened the door and looked around the passenger seat. "Wait! Taylor didn't bring a purse." She frowned to herself and shook her head. Taylor was trying to drive her crazy.

She grabbed her purse and locked up the truck. She made her way to the elevator. She normally opted for the stairs but the walk back to the car was tiring for her very pregnant body. She pressed the button and leaned against the wall as the doors shut. The baby moved around in her tummy. She put a hand on her belly and it kicked at her hand. She smiled to herself.

The doors opened and she walked over to Sharpay and Zeke's apartment. She knocked on the door once before opening it. "Tay-"

She was cut off by a group of people yelling "Surprise!" at her.

She nearly jumped out of her skin. She put her hand over her pounding heart and burst into tears. "It's okay." She heard a familiar voice say. She leaned into Troy who had wrapped her arms around her. "I knew the surprise baby shower thing was a bad idea."

She sniffed and looked up at him. "You did this all for me?"

"And the baby…. And I had a lot of help." Troy said, wiping her tears. "We had a bye this week and you only have ten more weeks. We'd been planning this for months."

Gabriella pouted. "None of you guys told me! I had no idea!"

"That's the point Gabsy. It's a surprise baby shower." Troy said with a chuckle. "Come on, come see who's here."

Gabriella looked up and the first person she saw caused a huge grin to appear on her face. "Daddy!" She wrapped her arms, the best she could around her father.

"Hey pretty girl. How are you feeling?" He asked, planting a kiss on her forehead.

"Big." She said, with a small smile. She sniffled quietly.

"I still can't believe you're going to be a mama." Her father said with a swift nod of his head. "I have the luckiest Grandbaby in the world." He winked before passing her off to her mother.

Gabriella went around and greeted everyone with a hug. Once she got a chance to sit down, Troy placed a plate of food in front of her. "You eat and watch while we play a couple games." She nodded and pulled her plate closer to her. Leave it to Troy to get her six carrots, a salad, four cucumbers with a little bit of chicken on the side. As much as she loved Troy, she wanted to murder him sometimes. Especially when he was trying to feed her rabbit food.

She got up for a drink and scoped out the food while everybody was focused on the game they were playing.. It was some type of baby crossword puzzle. She made herself a plate with the things Troy intentionally didn't put on her plate. She sat back down and started eating.

Taylor took a seat next to her. "Enjoying your party?"

"Yes. You guys are so sneaky. Were you really mad at Chad?" Gabriella asked in between bites.

"Nah. We've been planning this for a while. We were setting up here all night."

"It looks great." Gabriella smiled as she looked at all the decorations. "Thank you, for all this."

"Thank you for not going into labor. I bet Bolton that you were going to. The surprise was fun though."

"I almost shit myself, but it was nice." Gabriella rubbed her belly. "What is on the agenda for the day?"

"We're going to play some games to keep everybody entertained." Taylor started.

Gabriella took a moment to look around Sharpay's grand apartment. She saw a pile of boxes. "Do I want to know what that is?" Gabriella asked, pointing to it.

"Diaper raffle. You won't have to buy diapers for months." Taylor explained. "Me, Troy and Shar picked out some great prizes."

"Where was I when all this happened?" Gabriella wondered aloud.

"Napping… the day I made you and Chad go to the grocery store… Sharpay bought most of them since she's way out here." Taylor said. "Anyway, We're going to do games then you and Troy will open presents. We have cake."

"Cake?" Gabriella looked up immediately.

Taylor couldn't help but giggle. "Yes, cake. Not until after the presents though."

Gabriella groaned. "What's the fun in that?"

"I love to torture you."

"Apparently."

"Cake then clean up then we all go home."

"What kind of games do you have?" Gabriella asked.

"Good ones! I've been on Pintrest since you told me you were pregnant planning this." Gabriella rolled her eyes at Taylor's over-enthusiasm. "We have the toilet paper game that's coming up next. After it's the questionnaire all about you and Troy."

"Where do you get these things?" Gabriella asked aloud.

"Pintrest." Taylor said simply.

Troy's step-dad Mark won the first game. He did cross words religiously so it didn't really surprise Troy or Gabriella. The next game Gabriella wished she didn't have to be apart of but she was honorary toilet paper holder. The best part was watching how much each person pull the amount to measure how fat she was. Troy won the toilet paper game but technically wasn't allowed to play because it was 'cheating.' Trina, a friend of Gabriella and Taylor from Stanford, won in a close second.

The third game Gabriella didn't quite get the concept of. It was questions about Troy and Gabriella. Not everybody was going to know some of the things that were on this list. Gabriella decided to play just for giggles. She grabbed her pen and looked through the questions.

When is Troy's Birthday? September 14.
What's Gabriella's middle name? Marie
Where are Troy and Gabriella from? Albuquerque.
What high school did they go to and what was the mascot? East High Wildcats.
What's Troy's favorite color?

Gabriella looked up. What the hell was Troy's favorite color? She looked around as if that would help her remember. Troy watched her with an expression that was a mixture of confusion and amusement. Red, she thought, was it red? She wrote that down, hoping it was right.

What is Gabriella's favorite movie? Mean Girls.
Are Troy and Gabriella have a Boy or a girl? It's a surprise.
What is Troy's favorite sport? Basketball.
What is Gabriella's favorite book?

Gabriella blushed instantly. She couldn't remember her favorite book. She couldn't even remember if she had a favorite book. She liked a lot of books. She read constantly but she didn't know which one she labeled as her favorite. How embarrassing, she thought. She couldn't even answer a question about her self. She left the answer blank and looked down at the last question?

When is the baby due? April 27.

"Alright!" Sharpay said. "Times up!" A bunch of people groaned and murmured about how they weren't finished and how they didn't know the answer to a certain question. Gabriella sighed. Sharpay waved the card in her hand. "The first answer is September 14th"

Sharpay read through the answers and apparently people thought they were having a girl. According to Sharpay her favorite book was The Great Gatsby. Gabriella's mother won the questions game. After the game was over they played four rounds of baby bingo. Then after an hour and a half of opening presents and two pee breaks, Gabriella finally got some cake.

Hey y'all! It's my birthday! Wee. I got a job so hopefully that will keep me inspired to write. This is one of my favorite chapters just for the first part. LMAO. So awkward. I hope y'all have a great day. Don't forget to review!
