This isn't the longest chapter ever but it took me so long to put it all together in just right way and I stayed up so late making it, so I hope you all enjoy it cause I do :)
The next morning as the same truck that carried the 5 young gnomes a long diastance from home our little gnomes were having concerns of their own.
"This isn't good!" Jake whispered to his siblings.
"Gee and it only took you this long to figure that out!" Violet snapped to him.
"Guys Shhhs, they'll hear us!" Jr. whisper shouted to warn them all the humans were stilll in the truck.
"Where do you think there taking us?" Vanessa whimpered in fear.
"Far from home that's for sure" Jake said.
"I don't know where there taking us but I surely don't wanna know" Jr. whiser shouts.
"Alright then anybody got a plan" Violet said
"Escape!" Tyler said.
"How!?" Jake asked.
"We make a run for it!" Tyler said.
"That's a great idea tyler, Yeah we just come to life right in front of human eyes where they could see us alive and take us someplace where they'd do terrible experiments on us" Violet said again with sarcasm. "Do you see my point!"
"I didn't mean it like that. When the humans are gone we can get out and leave" Tyler said snapping back to violet now.
"Won't they notice if we leave?!" Vanessa said.
"Who cares, there humans, you wanna go home don't you!?" Violet snapped to her.
"Yes but..." Vanessa tried to say before violet butted in.
"Just what vanessa?!, what could be so important other than going home that you just have to say!?" Violet hissed and snapped at her again.
Vanessa got scared "Nevermind" She muttered.
Then they heard muffling and the guy in the passenger seat awoken in a flash, they all acted fast and froze again.
"Hey did you hear some voices talking?" The one man said as he heard them talking.
"Nope" The truck driver said.
"I swear I heard voices a moment ago" He said again looking around
"Probably just voices of folks from other cars passing by" The driver shrugged.
The passenger went back to sleep and then gnomes could move their lips again. That was a close one.
"What did I tell you guys, Be quiet!" Jr. said to them all.
"You were talking too you know!" Jake said back
"Alright noone make another sound until we stop" Jr. demanded.
"You're making sounds right now!" Violet snapped.
"SSSHHHS!" Jr. said but this time a little too loud disturbing the humans again.
"There it was again" The one guy said.
"I heard it this time too itdid sound like a voice" The driver said. They looked around but this time they found nothing and by then the gnomes had stopped talkign and stayed in place.
"We must be starting to hear things!" The driver said.
"We've been driving too long. How much longer till we get to the place?"
"A few more hours just hang in there" The driver said.
A few hours later it was nearly sundown and the sky was turring from it's bright sky blue to scarlett, orange, yellow, blackish, you know sunset type colors. The truck and it's passanegers, pulled up and stopped on the trail of a rocky dirt road.
"Finally were here!" The driver said alerting his partner.
"Let's unload the truck already and get down with this" He other man said as they left the truck. The gnomes came back to life in an instant.
"Finally it feels so good to move again!" Jr. said stretching.
"That's the longest I think I've ever stayed in suspened animation before" Tyler said cracking his body from cramps.
"Hey guys let's get out of here before they come back" Jake said making his way to the open window with the rest following.
They looked down and saw how high it was from thee window to the ground. "That's quite a drop!" Vanessa gulped.
"We've jumped from hihger places than this, this is mere childs-play" Jr. said being the first to jump and land safely in the grass. "Nailed it!" He shouts. "Quick guys jump before they come back!" He tells them.
"Here I go" Jake said jumping.
"Look out below!" Tyler went next and they both landed safely. All that was left were the girls.
Vanessa stepped to the edge and got a bit unsteady. "What's wrong nessa scared?" Violet said smirking.
"A little" She quivered. "You wanna go first?" Vanessa asked.
"No, you can go first, I insist" Violet crossed her arms with an evil glare. Vanessa looked back down and thought it wasn't going to be as easy for her to get down. "What are you waiting for jump already. I wanna see how many pieces you break into if you don't do it right!" Violet laughed.
"Rude much!" Vanessa said hurt.
"Thanks" Violet smiled.
"You sure you just don't wanna go, I'd feel better if you went first" Vanessa insisted.
Violet took a step closer and vanessa got a bit timid."Alright vanessa, if you really don't want to do this I won't make you go first" Violer wrapped an arm to her sisters back.
"Really?!" Vanessa said suspicious of her sisters sudden concern for her.
"Really" Violet said calmly. She walked to the window edge getting ready to jump but then tunred back to vanessa. "Oh but before I jump one last thing" She walked back to vanessa. When she wasn't looking Violet gave a quick hard push and vanessa went freefalling down to the ground. Vanessa had her eyes closed and was screaming the whole time and when it was over she looked back up to violet who was snickering.
"VIOLET THAT WAS SO NOT FUNNY!" She screamed almost crying.
"Hey I helped you down didn't I!" Violet jumped, flipped in mid air and landed on her feet next to vanessa. "And come on was it really that bad?" She asked.
"Well, now that you mention it, not really. It was kinda fun" Vanessa grinned.
"See, I did you a favor, for the first and last time" She said and vanessa rolled her eyes.
"And you know my fall wasn't al that bad either"
"That's becasue we cusioned your fall" They were startled by the sudden voice of their brother
"Tyler!?" Both girls said.
"Down here" He said. They looked down and Tyler, jake and Jr. were piled on the ground under vanessa, he 2 sisters looked to each other and started cracking up laughing.
"Glad you're enjoying our pain" Jake grunted.
"I enjoy everyone's pain!" Violet said settling her laughing.
"What are you guys doing down there?" Vanessa asked a rhetorical question.
"Oh isn't it obvious? were looking at all the bugs scattering along the ground for the enjoyment of it" Jr. said sarcastically.
"Vanessa can you please get up, your crushing me and I haven't even hit puberty yet" Jake strained under the weight of his sister against his tiny body.
"Sorry jakery" Vanessa called him by his full name getting off her brothers.
"Well now that weren't not crushed, let's go" Jr said leading them away.
"Which way should we go?" Vanessa asked.
"We came from that direction so we just head back that way" Jr. suggests.
"Actually it would be better if we head the other way" Violet said.
"No, We're going this way. The right way" Jr, said back to her.
"Who died and made you boss here!?" Violet snapped.
"I'm older, and smarter than you and I think I know where to go" Jr. boasts.
"Obviously you don't cause that's not the right way"
"And what makes you so sure you're way is right?" Jr. rasied an eyebrow.
"Cause I'm usually more right than you" It was Violets turn to boast.
"Says who?!" Jr. wondered.
"Says me!" Violet said. They went back and forth with this and the other 3 of them were standin there rolling there eyes.
"Seems like were doing more arguing and getting nowhere fast?" Tyler said.
"I agree ty. But it's best just to wait for them to finish" Vanessa smiled. "Right jake?" She turned to jake to back her up but he wasn't there.
"Where'd jake go?" Tyler said looking around.
"GUYS!" Thye all heard jake's voice but didn't see him.
"Jake where are you?" Jr. said stopping his argument with violet for a moment.
"Guys you might wanna take a look at this!" He called to them again.
"The sound was coming from behind the truck, let's go" Tyler said as they all raced to behind the truck they came in. They could se jake and he was looking off from the egde of a hill down below.
They all slowly walked up to him."Jake what's wrong with..." But tyler stopped when he and the others saw what jake was seeing. From the little hill incline they were standing on they could see nothing but miles and miles of tree's and distant mountains and vegetation spreading as far as they could see. From the vegataion they could see a small creek flowing and the sounds of animals, mainly birds, squaking and screeching and flying above the horizon.
"Oh...My...Gosh!" Vanessa gasped.
"W-Where are we?" Violet muttered.
"Someplace I've never seen before" Jake said
"We are definetly not in Stratford upon avon anymore" Tyler said.
"But where are we exactly"
"Obviously someplace where they don't do good gardening" Jake joked but the others weren't in a laughing mood.
"Jake this is serious! This is not time for joking" Violet snapped, making jake glare a bit.
"Violet's actually right we need to fcus on getting home" Jr. said serious
"How are we suppose to get home? we don't even know where we are?" Violet snapped to him.
Jr. glared and shoved violet back. "Sure we do, obviously we landed in some dense forest is all" Jr. said assuming the possibilities.
"A forest? Really Jr. ?" Violet lowered her eyes to him. "Funny cause last time I checked you don't see giant mountains in forests, nitwit!" She yelled thumping his head a litte.
"Well I don't see you coming up with anything miss I think I know everything when I really don't know a single thing about anything whatsoever!" Jr. called back to her.
"Oh that's it!" Violet lungeed at Jr. amd they began throwing fists at each others.
Tyler stepepd in and seperated them, or at east tried to. "Guys, Guys, GUYS!" He shouts finally getting their attention. "Fighting isn't going to get us any closer to home where we should be trying to do!" Tyler brought them back to their main goal.
"Tyler's right, we can deal with each other later" Jr. glared to violet. "We need to get back home!" He sighed.
"But first we might wanna duck...the humans are coming back!" Jake warned them and they all hide in a thinck bundle of bushes and leaves nearby.
Peering through the bushes they could see the same humans who broguht them there carry a big heavy crate.
"Last load of the day" One of them said.
"And who even needs all this stuff anyhow?" The other said sweating like mad.
"What do you expect we're in the middle of the jungle, filled with lions, tigers, wild monkeys and all sorts of exotic animals. You need to be prepared for anything" The first one explained. Hearing this the gnomes gasped.
"I guess you're right. Let's just unload the rest of this stuff and get a move outta here" And the two went back to unloading as the gnmes exposed themselves to the world again.
"Ok so not a forest but more wer're in the jungle" Jr. said proving his thought of the forest wrong.
"How is the Jungle better? that's worst!" Vanessa said freaking out.
"We're all doomed!" Jake said panicking.
"We're not doomed" Jr. reassured him. "We just have to go and find our way out" Jr. said calmly.
Jake glared to him. "Jr. were you not listening this place is filled with lion, tigers, wild monkeys and other dangerous, scary things! If we go out there we'll get mauled or eaten or worst. I don't wanna die!" Jake was spazzing out now.
Jr. grabbed his little brother and gave him a good shake. "Jake get a grip already!" He yelled to his face. Jake cooled himself and Jr, tunred back to the others "Alright now I know this looks bad but we just have to stay calm and think this through" He said assuming his status as leader of the group.
"I think...WE'RE ALL GONNA PERISH AND DIE OUT HERE!" Tyler said acting crazy.
Violet grabbed him and wrestled him to the ground. "TYLER CALM DOWN!" She yelled.
"First things first, we need to find our way outta here!" Jr. explained.
"How?!" Thye all said in unison.
"Simple...we use the trail we came here from and follow that right out of here" He crossed his arms happily.
"How can we use a trail if there is no trail to follow?" Tyler points out, All that was there was thick, dense trees and vegetation all around.
"Oh!" Jr. sighed.
"Besides even if there was this jungle is miles and miles long and confusing we'd get even more lost than we are now!" Vanessa points out further.
Jake gasped. "Not if we had a map?" He said.
"And...just where would we find a map out here?" Violet said sarcastically.
"Right there!" Jake said pointing to a map in sight.
"Uh jake take a closer look" Vanessa said. The only problem was that the map was in the back hands of one of the same human guy that brought them here.
"Oh, that's a problem!" Jake said embaressed.
"That map is our only way out of here we have to get it!" Tyler said.
"But how are we suppose to get it we can't just walk up and ask him for it?" Violet said with more sarcasm.
Jake gasps again. "Wait maybe we can!" Jake said thinking.
"HUH!?" The rest of them asked confused. "Jake what are you talking about?' Tyler asked.
He tunred back to them with a nervouc face. "I have an idea, it's crazy and it goes against gnome laws but it just might work"
"What is it?" Jr. said
"Oh no jake you can't be srious" Vanessa said gasping.
"Oh I am!"
"There's no way you're doing this!" Violet snapped.
"Why not?" Jake asked confused.
"Why not?! It's crazy and insane and you know that were not allowed to do that ever!" Tyler said shaking sencse into him.
"But it would work and we could get outta here1'
"NO, jake there is absolutely now way that is happening, do you know how much troubled we'd be in!?" Jr. said sternly
Jake rolled his eyes and then a lightbulb struck (you know when you have an idea and a lightbulb appers over your head) "Ok alright then I guess if you guys don't wanna go home to mum and dad and everyone who cares about us. Tyler you'll never get to see jennifer again and she'll probably get another boyfriend, one better than you ever were. And Vanessa you and violet will be stuck with each other even longer than before and you'll never be able to get the other in trouble becasue mum and dad won't be here you'll be stuck taking her tourture for the rest of your natural life, not to mention Violet you'll never get to boss around your friends like you always do. And Jr. Can kiss racing lawnmowers, fighting, spending time with dad and all his dreams of ever being married to london goodbye forever. I guess you could say you'd rather leave all your hopes and dream to fade all becasue you guys didn't want to go home" Jake smirked thinking he had got his siblings right where he wanted them.
The 4 of them looked to each other and said. "Forget what's right and wrong we're getting outta here and I'm getting back to my girl" Tyler said.
"Mine too, even though london and I aren't a couple yet!"
"I'm In just to get back to bossing others around" Violet annonced
"Me too just becasue I don't wanna have to put up with violet in my life any more than I have too already!" Vanessa said.
Jake smiled. "Well now that we're all on the same page we can get this done with" Jake said letting them in on the plan. It was all set and they got the plan into action.
"Ready guys!" Jake said.
"READY!" They all said. "Good luck bro" Tyler encouraged him.
"Just be ready when I say so" Jake said walking out. He walked right out into plain view and saw the man holding the jungle map in his hands come this way. "Showtime!" He uttered to himself and then froze in his signature position.
He heard the guy coming closer "I'll be right back just gotta get a few more boxes and..." The man stoped when he accidentally stepepd on jake's pointy head, but not cracking jake at all. "Ow what was that..." He hopped holding his foot and then looked down. "Hey!?" He said bending down and picking jake up. "How'd you get outta the truck?" He said ooking back and forth from the truck.
"Oh it was very simple really all I did was jump from the window" Jake talked and then refroze himself it startled the man. He looked around but all he saw was the frozen jake still in his hands.
"Who said that?" He wondered.
"Me, I said that" Jake said to him again and then refroze just as the man looked his way.
He got mad. "Alright whoevers messing worth me better watch it!" He yelled.
Jake spoke again. 'Oh noone's messing with you you're really hearing this" And then he quickly froze again. The guy looked around in the direction he heard the voice again and then looked at jake suspisciously. He slowly reached out and poked jake with his finger.
"Hahahah, they that tickled!" Jake laughed at the man.
"AAhh!" The man screamed and droped jake on the ground.
"Hey what was all that for?" Jake said sligtly mad dusting off.
"D-D-did y-you just t-t-talk?" He studdered
"Yes I can talk and walk just like all gnomes, but humans arent's suppose to know that, so this is a big milestone for you isn't it" Jake acted all happy and smily freaking the man out further.
"This isn't possible gn-gn-gnomes aren't alive!?" He shook.
"Well as you can see I am alive and moving around" Jake said running in tight circles. "Now if you could do me a favor and just hold still a moment" Jake climbed into the mans hand and once again and reached and took the map from him and walked back to the ground. The man was too shocked to move or say anything
"Thanks man and one more thing...BOO!" Jake shreiked and it casued the man to flee in terror.
The rest of them came out and walked to jake. "And you said it wasn't going to work" Jake boasts handing Jr. the map
"What can I say jake? that was rather impressive" Jr. said.
"Disturbing and wrong but impressive" Vanessa congrats her brother.
That's when they heard commomtion and the sound of the man again. "Wait someones coming activate disguse mode" Violet said and they all froze.
"There this is it!?" The man came back with his partner and lead them to the gnomes.
"Man I've seen the gnomes why'd you take them out the truck?" His friend said annoyed.
"No, No you don't understand they can talk?" The man annonced making his friend give a frightened look.
"Dude are you alright, you're speaking crazy" He said concerned.
"No, I know it sounds crazy but they talk they do I'll prove it" He bends down and picks up jake. "Here this one here talked to me. Go on now say something little one" He asked jake to talk but he wasn't doing anything. The guys friend looked to him weird. "I swear he talked, he does!" He said showing jake even closer.
"Mate, I think the heat's starting to affect you" His friends rest his hand on the others shoulder.
He pushes him away. "I'm not crazy He talks" He said crazy-like. "C'mon talk you!" The man started hitting jake with his palm.
"Ow stop hitting me, what are you trying to do? crack me!" Jake finally spoke turning red a little.
"Whoa he talked!?" The guys friend backed up in fright.
"HA, I told you so!" The guys said with joy.
"Yeah, Yeah I can talk now put me down!" Jake demanded.
"This is incredible!" the other said snatching him away form him. "A talking gnome, think of how famous we'll be having a talknig gnome"
"We, ha oh no" The guy said taking jake away. "I found out he talks you, didn't believe me, I'm gonna be the ones who famous" He said back
"Oh I don't think so" The other said as they went back and forth taking jake away from each other.
"Excuse me I'm not a toy stop before one of you makes a mistake and drop me!" Jake yelled over the fuss.
"You stay outta this!" The guy said hitting jake against his hand again.
"Ow!" He looked to where it came from.
"Put my brother down!" Tyler said demanding
"Whoa!" They both got shocked and the one with jake accidentaly let him go, jake fell but Jr. caught him.
"Thank's bro" Jake said getting to the ground safely.
"Amazing they can all talk and walk!" the guy said.
"This is unvelivable, think of what we can do with them" One said.
"Ugh guys I think we better leave now" Vanessa said as they all tried walking away.
"Whao where do you all think you're going?" The man said to them.
"Sorry but we gotta go!" Jake said pushing them along.
"I don't think so get them!" And the 2 started chasing after the gnomes in every direction but being the offspring of gnomeo and juliet, the 2 most stealthiest gnomes ever, they were quick and swift and avoided capture.
"Quick guys hide and regroup" Jr. called out and they all dashed into the nearst bushes seperatly, confusing the humans as they were able to regroup in a far off bush.
"Great now we gotta deal with this way to go jake" Violet snapped.
"Me!?"
"This was you're stupid Idea, stupid" Tyler nudged him.
"You're all older than me you should've said it was a bad idea, but you all went along with it" Jake pointed out.
"You tricked us into doing it!" Vanessa was getitng upset with him as well.
"You still all know better than to listen to me" He snapepd. "And I got the map so where's my thank you for that" He crossed his arm
Violet glared."Thank you jake...for getting us into this!" Violet snapped trying to hit him but jr, steppd in.
"Guys, we can get back at jake later" Jr. glared to jake. "Right now we have to lose those guys" Jr. peaked through the bushes and the guys were stil looking through bushes to find them.
"It's only a matter of time before they find us, catch us and take us away to be experimented on like animals" Vanessa said crying and freaking out.
Violet slapped her sisters cheeck to make her stop. "Not if we can get away!" Violet said aloud.
"But how are we..." Butwas interrupted when bright sunlight came throuhg and a dark shadwo fromed over their heads.
"AHA THRE YOU ARE!" The guy said finding them. "I FOUND THEM!" He shouts to his friend who comes over with a butterfly net in hand. The gnomes form a groud hiding behind one another with Jr, in front protecting them all.
"Now hold still so we can catch you and take you away to be experiment on and make millions of money" The one with the net said.
"Told you so!" Vanessa said. he raised the net and Jr. looked around and out of the corner of his eye he saw there way to freedom. He tunred back to the guys just before he brought the net down Jr, grabbed a twig off his feet and slashed up mud in front of the man getting it into his eyes. The man dropped the net and fell back rubbing his muddy eyes as his friend went to his aid.
"What was that for?" Tyler asked.
"Our time to escape, Follow me!" Jr. took off as they followed not knowing where they were going but seeing it ws better than staying where they were.
"Man you alright!" The guys said helpign his freind.
"I'm good..but there getting away!" He said pointing to the gnomes running.
"Not for long" The other said picking up the butterfly net and goign after them.
The gnomes kept running with Jr. ahead until they stopped.
"Why are we stopping?!" Violet snapped outta breath a little.
"We just have to get down this log and were homefree!" Jr. said wasting no more time and going down the slide.
"Good point wait for us Jr." Jake said as he and tyler went in side by side.
"Uh I don't think this is very safe" Vanessa said looking down the dark log.
"Oh for crying out loud!" VIolet angrily pushed vanessa down and went down erself jsut in the nick of time as the guys reached them and missed them. they al went slididng down and out the log other end into a mud slide.
"Ew we're covered in mud!" Vanessa said feeling dirty.
"But at least we got away" Jake said flicking mud off him.
"Yeah." Violet went to the log and saw the guys looking down ot at the top to them. "Try and capture us now losers!" She shouts to them.
"You litte sneaks we'll get you back, count on that!" One shout back angrily.
"I'll believe it when I see it!" Jr. snapped back blowing a raspberry back up to them and walking away giggling with his siblings.
"We made it we're all safe" Vanessa sighed happily.
"Guys I'm sorry I got us into that mess" Jake said sadly.
"Aw it's alright jake" Tyler said nudging him "You did get us the map!" Jr. said holding it up.
"So how do we get outta here Jr. ?" Vanessa said looking to the map.
Jr. set the map down on a flat surface and looked at it, there was a red dot marking where we were and a line going through the jungle to a place where it looked like we were heading out of the jungle. "Ok so all we have to do is follow this map nothr a while and we shuld be halfway to the edge of the jungle by tommorow night" Jr. said confidently.
"Providing we don't see any wild animals" Vanessa said in fear.
"Thanks for that fear vanessa, Way to be postive scaredy baby" Violet snapped once more, rolling her head. Not wanting to start anything Vanessa strolled along ignoring anything her sister had to say to her.
Now it was just the 5 of them, alone in the big bad jungle.
This is coming along quite nicely if I do say so myself. unitl next time, Au revior mes amis (Goodbye friends in french). Did I mention I speak a little bit of french too. U learn something about me all the time don't you.. ;D
