The holidays were weird without Troy. Grayson always missed his father despite the frequent video contact they had. It wasn't the same. Gabriella felt the same way. She was a little un easy about their new relationship after his first few weeks away. She trusted him with her whole heart, she just hated being away from him. He couldn't make it down for Halloween, Thanksgiving, her college graduation, or Christmas.
Lucy took Grayson to see Troy for a week in September. Gabriella was getting settled into her externship and her last class. Gray got to see him again at the beginning of November when Chad and Taylor paid Troy a visit when he was in Sacramento. Gabi was going to go but she got called in to work on a big case and Troy wouldn't let her turn that opportunity down. Lucy took Grayson to see Troy again just before Christmas.
She missed everything about him. The house felt different with him gone. Grayson took over his old room. Gabi only slept in it if needed or if she was really missing him. She got a job at the firm where she had her externship. They were fairly busy but she enjoyed what she was doing. She put in for a couple days off around New Years. She and Grayson flew into Albuquerque last night. She was going to leave Grayson with his grandparents while she flew out to Memphis to surprise Troy.
Her parents were a little skeptical of her motivations to visit Troy alone. She broke down and told them the truth but asked them to keep it a secret even though she knew that they wouldn't. She flew to Memphis in the early evening. Troy's team was on their way home from a road game. They had a home game the day after New Years.
Once she landed in Tennessee, she headed straight for Troy's apartment. He left a key in California for anybody who wanted to come visit. Gabriella gripped the key as she pulled her suitcase out of the taxi. She stared up at the apartment building before taking the journey inside. She walked the hallways finding his apartment. She stopped in front of the door and smile excitedly. She just couldn't wait to see him.
She unlocked the door, opening it slowly. She was immediately over whelmed with his scent, making her heart pound with anticipation. She closed the door behind her and took a walk around his small apartment. It was even nicer than the pictures. It was cleaner than she thought it was going to be. She walked into his bedroom and unpacked her clothes into his drawers and laid down in his unmade bed.
She smiled as she curled herself up against the pillow. She couldn't wait to see his face when he got back. She dozed off, only waking up to reply to text messages from Troy. He send updates about where he was. They were an hour behind schedule due to bus trouble.
Her phone beeped again but this time he was face timing her. She answered it, looking at his face that was leaning against the window of the dimly lit bus. "Baby, I can't see your face." He said with a small smile.
She giggled slightly. "Sorry, I'm laying in bed."
"In bed already? It's only, what, six there?"
"Seven." She lied with a shrug. "Gray is at your Dad's. I felt like I should catch some sleep before you call me and keep me up all night." She said as she shifted for better light against her face. She made sure it was close to her face so he couldn't see any of the background.
Troy sighed. "I can't wait to get home and lay in bed with you all spring."
Gabriella smiled. "I can't wait for that either."
"I can't wait to get to see Grayson regularly again. I'm glad he still knows who I am."
She rolled her eyes. "Of course he knows you. You're his father. Just because you're away for a little bit doesn't mean he'll forget you. He loves you so much."
"I love him more." He ran his fingers through his hair before he scratched the stubble on his chin.
"When is the last time you shaved? You're starting to look like a teenager with his first mustache coming in." She teased with a giggle.
Troy laughed. "I haven't had time. I've been so tired lately. I barely want to take a shower. I am so looking forward to these couple days off."
"You have taken a shower right?" She asked, with a serious face.
She made Troy laugh again. "Yes, babe. I shower regularly… well more than regularly."
"Good, I don't want you to stink. Maybe, on second thought, you should stink to keep the ladies away from you."
"You're the only lady I want."
She smiled, rolling her eyes. "How far away from your apartment are you?"
He sighed, looking out the window. "I don't know, it's dark outside."
"Well ask."
"Where are we coach?" He asked. A man mumbled a reply. Troy looked back at the screen. "He said about fifteen minutes. We were supposed to get back like an hour ago. Fifteen minutes isn't that bad."
"Yeah, I bet your butt is numb."
Troy chuckled. "Yeah, kind of. I'm just glad this one has a bathroom. The last bus didn't and with a bus full of guys and no bathroom, there was a lot of bottles full of pee."
Gabriella laughed. "That's disgusting."
"Hey, it's better than peeing out the window." Troy chuckled, leaning back. He stared at her face on the screen. "I miss you."
"I miss you too. When are you coming home?" She asked with a small pout.
"Soon, baby, soon."
"Tay and Chad's wedding is two months too far away."
"I can't wait to see you in your pretty dress. It makes me want to see you in a white dress."
"You need to put a ring on it first." She said, holding up her left ring finger.
Troy chuckled. "Soon enough baby." She nibbled on her lip as she studied him. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
She snapped out of the little trance and smiled. "Like that?"
"Like you want to climb through the phone and rip off all my clothes." Troy said with an amused smirk.
She licked her lips before smirking. "Maybe that is exactly what I was thinking."
Troy shut his eyes. "You're going to kill me."
"Maybe we can do something special tonight." She said in a low voice.
His eyes shot open and he raised his eyebrows. "Like what?"
She shrugged. "We'll see. Just call me when you get home and you're all alone, tucked into bed, okay?"
He sighed. "Okay. I'll call you in like ten minutes. We're about to get off the freeway."
"Alright. I love you."
"I love you too, Gabsy." He sent her a wink before he disconnected the call.
She sat up in excitement. She changed into a matching bra and lace panties set. Lace wasn't her favorite but he loved it so she bought them. She made sure to hide her things before she looked for a place to hide. She decided against hiding and made his bed before laying on top of the comforter. She got up again when she suddenly had the urge to pee. She checked her hair after she did her thing. She washed her hands and dried them off with a towel. She was about to walk out when she heard the front door open. She turned off the bathroom light before opening the door and peeking out.
Troy yawned as he walked into his apartment. He dropped his bag to the couch before tossing his keys on the counter. He pulled off his shirt as he walked into the bedroom. He was so beat. They'd been on the road since Christmas. He was ready to wind down. He fell onto his bed, laying on his back. He covered his eyes with his arms. He rested his eyes, reaching around for his phone. He pulled it out of his pocket and sat up.
He took a double take of the figure standing in the doorway. She closed his bedroom door with a small smile. His eyes wandered down her chest to her bare midriff. His eyes stopped when he saw her lace panties. She bit her lip, watching him watch her. She tiptoed across his cold floor with her bare feet. She put her hands on his shoulders and hopped into his lap. She slid the phone out of his hand, tossing it to the floor carelessly.
His hands moved down her waist to her hips. She flipped her hair back, sitting down on his lap. She moved her hips slowly, grinding against him. She licked her lips slowly, leaning in to brush her lips against his. She smiled as she pulled his hair back instead, causing him to look up. She pressed her lips against his Adams apple.
Her lips moved up his stubble coated jaw. She kissed his lips firmly once she reached them. The corners of his lips tugged into a smile as she pulled back. She sighed, touching his face. "I was selfish."
"What do you mean?" He asked, gazing down at her lips.
"I should have brought Grayson." She murmured, brushing his hair back.
"You should have, but it's okay." Troy said, brushing her hair back as well. "Your parents see him less than I do."
She sighed again. "Yeah."
"I am so glad you're here though." He grinned, pressing his lips softly against hers.
"My seduction isn't going as planned."
"I think it is." Troy said with a mischievous smile. He lifted himself off the bed, holding her legs around his waist. He set her against the bed on her back. He pulled away to pull his jeans down and kicked them and his shoes off. "When did you get in?"
"Earlier." She said, scooting up on his bed. She laid back against the spot where she fell sleep. "I got in around six, came here, took a nap, then you called and now you're here."
"I am very upset our bus wasn't on time now." He crawled on the bed. He kissed her belly gently, kissing his way up her body. "An extra hour with you would have been wonderful."
"You have me for a couple days." She said with a small smile. She giggled as his face lit up. She pulled his lips down to meet hers.
"I'm so excited that you're here." He said, pulling away from her again.
"Me too, now shut up." She mumbled, pulling his lips back down to hers.
Troy chuckled against her lips. "What? You don't want to talk to me?"
She groaned in frustration. "I've been talking to you for the past six months. I want to fuck you into next year, okay?"
Troy laughed again. "That's a lot of fucking."
"Troy." She groaned and whined at the same time.
"I'm sorry." He said as he stopped laughing. He still had a smile on his face that looked like he was about to burst into laughter. "I'll make sweet, sweet love to you."
"Finally." She said, tugging down his boxers.

Gabriella was woken up by a kiss being pressed against her bare back. She groaned slightly, rolling to her back. She felt a trail of kisses up her arm to her shoulder. She giggled when he kissed a ticklish spot. "Mmm, knock it off." She mumbled, pulling the sheets around her tightly.
"Nope." Troy replied with a chuckle. He tugged down the sheets and palmed her bare breasts. "I made breakfast."
"Then lets eat and not try to provoke each other already. We have all day to do that." She wrapped her arms around his neck, pressing her chest against his. She kissed his lips firmly, smiling against his lips. "I missed you so much."
"I missed you too." He pressed a kiss to her forehead. He held her close to him, squeezing her gently. He pulled away from her.
"It's freezing in here, Troy." She said, as he pulled away.
"I think it's snowing outside." He looked out his window, only seeing white.
"Good, we don't have to leave. We're snowed in."
"Baby, we're on the third floor." Troy said with a chuckle.
"Don't ruin the fantasy, okay? It's kind of sexy."
"Sexy, huh?" He said, raising his eyebrows in interest.
She smiled innocently. "Didn't you say something about breakfast?"
He smirked. "I'll turn up the heater and get you breakfast."
"Thanks babe." She pulled the bedding up to her neck.
"You're welcome baby." He shook his head, smiling at her. He walked into the kitchen, grabbing the tray of food he already prepared. He picked it up, making a quick stop at the thermostat. He turned the heat up a couple degrees before walking back into his room. "Breakfast for my favorite girl."
"Mmm! Coffee!" She smiled excitedly, eagerly taking the cup from the tray.
"I made pancakes and bacon and all you care about is coffee?" He asked, sitting next to her on the bed.
She smiled, leaning over to kiss his lips. "How about we share? You eat the food and I'll drink the coffee?"
"You have to have something." Troy said, frowning slightly.
"Fine." She mumbled. "Feed me." She opened her mouth, waiting.
Troy tossed his head back and laughed. "You're crazy." He picked up a piece of bacon, taking a bite before feeding it to her.
She chewed with a small smirk. "It's a little overcooked."
Troy scoffed. "My bacon is perfect." He said defensively.
Gabriella shrugged her shoulders, leaning over to kiss his lips. "I was kidding. Your bacon was delicious."
"It better be. I slaved over a hot stove for you all morning and all you're going to eat is a bite of bacon."
She laughed, taking a small sip of her coffee. She set it down on the tray in his lap. Troy carefully moved the tray to the bedside table. She took another bite of the piece of bacon he held between his fingers. "Thank you for breakfast, my little homemaker." She scooted over, tossing her leg over his lap. She pulled herself up, sitting on his lap.
He smiled, taking the last bite of bacon. "You're welcome."
She reached over for a napkin and wiped the corner of his mouth. She placed the napkin in his hands before leaning down to kiss his lips slowly. "I love you."
"I love you too, beautiful." He kissed her nose, making her smile. Just as his lips touched hers again, her phone started beeping.
"Hold on." She pressed a finger to his lips. She got up in search of her phone. She found it on top of the dresser. She dug a shirt out of Troy's dresser after she saw her mom was trying to face time with her. She answered as she sat on the bed.
"Hi Mama!" Grayson squealed as he saw her face.
A smile took over her face as she saw her baby boy, sitting on her moms lap. "Hi baby! Are you having fun with Grandma and Grandpa?"
"Yeah." He replied slowly, nodding his head. "Love you mama."
"Aw, I love you too, baby. I'll be back soon."
Grayson started giggling. "Dada."
Gabriella looked over her shoulder at Troy. He was sitting behind her, making silly faces at the camera. "You want to talk to daddy?"
"Yeah."
She handed Troy her phone before she got up to use the rest room. She smiled as she heard them talking. She washed her hands and walked back into the room. She crawled on the bed, sitting next to Troy. He put his arm around her shoulder. "Hi baby."
"Hi mama." Grayson said as he wiggled out of her mother's lap.
"I think he's bored now." She said, laughing. "He kept saying call mama."
"Aw." Gabriella pouted. "I miss him so much."
"I miss him more." Troy argued. "Do you think we can get a flight out to Albuquerque?"
"I don't know." Gabriella replied looking out the window. "It's still snowing."
Maria laughed at both of them. "How about you let me spend time with my grandson and work on my granddaughter? Okay?"
Gabi rolled her eyes. "This is why I didn't want to tell you, Mom."
Her mother laughed some more. "Oh stop it, Gabriella. I haven't told anybody your little secret. Not even Jack and Mark. Enjoy the couple of days you have together. Grayson is in good hands."
Troy kissed her forehead and Gabi sighed. "Fine. I'll be back in a couple of days."
"I know, have fun. Enjoy the snow. I love you both."
"We love you too Maria." Troy said with a smile. "We'll talk to you later."
"Bye mom." Gabi said just before Troy hung up the phone.
"You're grumpy." He murmured, kissing her shoulder.
"I'm not. I just- I told you this would happen."
Troy shrugged. "So what? You shouldn't let it bother you so much. Our friends and family are going to be making fun of us for the rest of our lives. You should be used to it by now."
She sighed. "I know."
Troy reached over for the cup of coffee. "Here, Drink and be happy."
A small smile tugged on her lips. "I'll try."
Once they got dressed, Troy took her to show her the arena he's been playing in. He also wanted her to meet a couple people while she was here. In the short time she'd been here, Troy had plans formulating in his head about the rest of the time they spent together. Most of it consisted of not leaving his little apartment.
He wrapped his arms around her from behind as they walked from the car to the players entrance. "I don't think we're allowed to go in here Troy. There is nobody here."
"I texted the owner about it, he said it was cool, baby."
"Well if you get fired, you have to move back to California immediately." She said with a teasing grin.
"As tempting as that sounds, that wouldn't be good for my basketball career." He stepped in front of her, leaning down to kiss her lips gently.
"I hope they caught that on camera." She grinned against his lips.
Troy shook his head and swiped his card. He opened the door and lead her in. He punched numbers in the key pad and opened a second door. "Hey!" a deep voice boomed. He felt Gabriella tense up. "What are you doing here on your day off Bolton?"
Troy chuckled as his favorite security guard, Chuck, walked towards them. "Hey Chuck."
"Who is this beauty you've got with you?" Chuck winked good-naturedly at Gabriella.
"This is my best friend, mother of my son, and girlfriend, Gabriella."
A wide smile formed on Chuck's face. "Ah, this is the famous Gabriella everyone teases Troy about."
Gabi laughed. "That would be me. It's nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too." Troy shook Chuck's hand. "Let me know if you need anything while you're here."
"I will. Thanks Chuck." Troy grinned at his friend and took Gabi's hand. "Let's go."
She squeezed his hand, following in the maze that was the underground portion of the arena. "Where are we even going?"
"Don't worry about it baby."
