Chapter 28
A/n: guys I'm very sorry for the very late update If there are still waiting for an update XD but this fic is coming to an end. I post two chapters in one day to make it up to you. College is really kicking my butt . So again don't miss the chapter 27.. :D
PPOV
"Yey! We're almost done all we need to do is put this little thing at the top of this steel works" Hanna said bouncing like a kid in Christmas day
"Easy Hanna that shiny little thing looks expensive" I said then get the box from her. Then she pouts
"Em are you sure you want to put this there?" I asked her neglecting the concern of Hanna
"Yeah very sure, it almost Christmas and we don't have a Christmas tree that would fit that thing." She said then gives me a cheeky smile.
"Okay do you want to put this up there?" I asked her
"Em! Let me to that job please! Please! Please!" Hanna said
"Han, let Fields do the job" I said when Hanna attempt to grab the box from me.
"Thank me later for helping you to turn down Hanna's antics" I said when I hand over the box to Emily
She just smiled then pull out the object from the box then she let the light reflects on the crystal star that she is holding. I cant help but smile at that moment I don't know what's the reason but all I know is that I will not disappoint Emily this time I will ask Spencer today.
EPOV
I climbed the ladder to reach the top of the steel works. Then I put the precious crystal starr on top of the structure.
"Em! Come down here so we can try to turn on all the lights" Hanna Said then she also have the big smile on her face
"Close the curtains!" Paige shouted
"Hey guys turn the lights now it's really dark in here" I said when they still didn't turn the lights on.
"Why are you afraid of the dark?" someone whispered beside me.
"Of course not!" I said then try to move away because I can feel her breathing on my neck but she holds me in my shoulders
"Then what are you afraid of?" she continued
"I...I don't know" I said then everything starts to light up. The venue is extremely beautiful, no it's magnificent. Then I look at my side then I saw her face. The lights are reflecting on her eyes she also looks so splendid at this moment and she is wearing her biggest smile. Then all of a sudden we hear a glass that broke then the next thing we saw is that the steel structure is falling. Everything feels like in slow motion then my precious star falls on the floor and all of its pieces are everywhere.
The metal door opens
"Hello! Guys I'm very sorry I'm..." I hear someone but I can't recognize anything from the shock
"Oh my " The voice said again then I turn to look at the person who is walking towards my location.
PPOV
Everything went to into slow motion all the happiness I felt shattered like the crystal star. I can't find the right words to say to Emily. Comforting someone is not really my forte I always go with what I felt right. But at this moment nothing seems right. Then everything becomes more confusing when I heard the voice of Spencer. I know that she will feel responsible for all of this and I know Emily will surely put up a face that everything is alright for her just to not be a bother the others.
"Em I' m very sorry" Spencer said while she is trying to gather the pieces scattered on the floor.
"Spence... It's not your fault it was an accident" Emily said then i walk towards them
"No, I'm not focused while we are practicing that's why I didn't hit the ball" Spencer argued
"Spence that's enough it was an accident, It couldn't be fixed" Emily said then she step closer to where Spencer is crouching.
"No I spaced out and lose control and it broke something very important to you" She said still looking at the pieces she gathered
"I beg you; although I may not be able to fix this just let me do whatever I can!" She pleads. Then Emily tried to touch Spencer's shoulder but she hesitated when Spencer cut her off
"Please Em" She said
"Okay if that's what you want, just let Pai..." Emily said then she looked at me
"No!" Spencer cut her off again
"No! Stop not that!" Spencer continued
"Spence" Emily said then she gets up then nods at me then she walks away
"Paige, just go, let me do this myself" She said in a low voice
I walk beside her then crouch and started to figure how to fix this little thing.
"Stop it , it's my fault, If...if you help me..I...I" She said. Now I can sense that she is about to cry
"There is not much time left, do what you should do" I said still not looking at her direction. At this moment this is the right thing for me to do.
"I'm not helping you, I'm just doing what I should do, It's for my own sake" I said then I felt that she is looking at me now
"Paige" I hear her say in a very low voice that maybe just part of my imagination
"Yeah?"
"Paige...Paige..." She repeats again much more louder this time
"I'm listening" I replied without looking at her but I know this time she is crying
"Paige..." She repeats again
"I'm here" I said then I brought up the part of the broken star that I've already fixed
"Look, its beautiful isn't it?" I said then let the light reflects through it
"It can be fixed even if it's broken, so cheer up" I continued
"We can't put it back the way it was" She said then this time I look at her.
"It's still shinning" I said then give her a reassuring smile
"I don't even know if I can fix it" She said then looked down again
"You can!" Then I look at the star again
"Don't worry it can be fixed no matter what" I say

"Everyone! We're very sorry" Spencer said. Then Emily walk towards her then hugged Spencer
"Thank you very much Spence you're cuter than before" Then Emily poked the tip of her nose then she give her a sad smile. After that Spencer turns to her heels then walked outside to leave
"Spencer!" I run after her because she is already a few feet away. Then she stops but didn't turn around
"You have to come tomorrow! It'll definitely fun!" I said still a few feet away from her.
"I...I want to go with you!" I screamed. But she didn't look back at me
"No I can't, I can't go after all the trouble I caused" She said calmly then I slowly walk to approach her.
"I will wait for you" I said then tried to hold her shoulder
"Don't wait!" she said louder this time and in an instant. It makes me hesitate to touch her
"Because I won't come" Then she started to walk again.
"I will wait" I say to my self
"I will wait for you!" I screamed to the top of my lungs.
