Chapter 30
PPOV
I'm sitting here on my porch starring at the clear sky thinking over everything that happen that night.
"hmmmm... I've wasted my vacation doing nothing" I say to myself
"God! How can I face her tomorrow! I was rejected wasn't I? Thats the only explanation to that." I said loud enough for myself then I look straight ahead to the empty streets. Then I saw her there. It's been a week since the last time I saw her.
"EM!" Called her. But she just walked like she didn't hear me
"Hey EM wait! Hey! Wait for me" I said then I run towards her
"What is it? You're so loud " She said but she stops on her tracks
"You haven't come over since the party! I'm always eating take outs and canned goods" I said then pouted
"Paige don't get mad at me just because Spencer rejected you" She said coldly. I was taken aback at her cold and different treatment it is like the days when where not that close but this time she's the one who's snappy
"ahh... I'm not mad" I said softly then avoided her cold gaze
"I'm just frustrated. It's not that I want you to pity me. I-I just like you to treat me like you usually do Em" I said then I looked at her straight in the eye. Then I saw something change in her demeanour
"I'm doing this for you and Spencer" She simply said still looking straight in to my eyes. Then she averted her gaze to somewhere else
"Why am I so stupid" She said with disgust.
" I should support Spencer but I always just crash at your place or vice versa it is natural for her to misunderstood" She said still looking at something else but I'm still looking at her
"so that's why you think she rejected me" I said softly
"yeah" She said still not looking at my direction
"I think she just doesn't feel that w-" I tried to convince her
"NO! I think Spencer likes you but she probably thinks that I need you or something like that" She said now she is staring at me straight in the eyes.
"What about you ? do you really think Spencer doesn't like you?" She asked me this time.
" I get the feeling she's kind of interested in me.. Well just a little." I said
" Don't run away" She firmly say
" I wont come over anymore." She said Then she slowly turns around.
"Try your best to be by yourself if you still feel the same about Spencer I'm sure she'll change her mind you should do what you need to do! You have to confirm her true feelings" She said loud enough for me to hear. Then she stopped walking I thought that she is going to turn around but she didn't I thought she is waiting for my response so.
"Okay I promise not to burn my house down" I say loud enough
"But Seriously I wonder how long will I last" I said to lighten the mood and hoping for her to look at me this time.
"It will last I swear" She said softly that I wished that it is just the sound of the wind.
"dont run away huh?" I say then smiled and shake my head. I just watch Emily walk and then soon she disappeared on the darkness
EPOV
"EM! You forgot something!" I hear my mom on the top of the staircase
"What is it mom?" I asked her then she walks towards me
"You forgot this skiing trip thing" she said then she showed me the paper with the signature
"Oh! I totally forgot that thing!"
"This is really not the right time for me to care about this" I said then sigh.
"Em is everything okay?" Mom asked me and I can see the concerned in her eyes.
"Yeah mom j-just tired I guess" I assure her.
"Bye mom!" I said then went through the door
At school..
PPOV
"Hi Han!" I greeted Hanna enthusiastically
" where is Em? You're not together" She asked then looked around to spot Emily
"she said she has something to do" I lied to her
Then I remember my conversation with her the night before. I guess I need to fix things with Spencer first . Then maybe Em and I can go back to the way we used to be.
"I've been even living in a cup noodles because of her sake" I said absentmindedly
"Huh?" Hanna said
"Ow nothing" I said
"Paige!" I hear someone celled my name
"Ow lance what do you need?" I asked my schoolmate
"I just want to give the suit back it looks so expensive" He said then give me the paper bag
"Ow thanks" I said then smiled at him
"By the way I saw this on its pocket" Then he hands me the red box. It's my supposed gift for Spencer.
"I didn't end up needing it that time" I mumbled softly.
EPOV
"Good morning Em!" Two of my jolly classmates greeted me
"Good morning Cass and Euphie" I greeted them back. Then I took my seat beside the window
"Hey EM where is Paige?" Cass asked me
"God knows where she is" Then they looked at me suspiciously
"What?" I asked guiltily
PPOV
"Even know" I looked at the hair clip that I bought for Spencer
"Hey Paige! Whats that?" I hear Mona asked me then she took the hair clip on my palm.
"Ow n-nothing I don't even needs this thing anymore" I simply said then Mona give me her biggest smile. She pushed me a little in order to looked at herself in the mirror inside my locker then she prepared to put the hair clip in her hair
"I'll just have it then" She said then she looked at me
"So how do I look?" She asked for my opinion.
"I-I don't,..." But I was cut off even before I can finish my sentence
"Hey! Give it back!" I saw Emily grabbed the hair clip on Mona's hair
"Ow! What the hell Emily!" Mona screamed then she touches her head
"This is still Paige's! Give it back!" Emily took the clip then moved it out of mona's reach!
"Hey hey stop that..." I tried to calm them I think Emily is being so hyped today
"I see you guys are all so hyped up for the first day of this semester huh?" Someone said then the three of us stopped then looked behind me.
"Good Morning guys! " I saw Spencer standing there like nothing happened that night
"Good morning Spence!" Emily greeted her then she runs off to Spencer's side then she hugged her best friend
"H-hi spence" I softly greeted her then she just smiled at me. I can't stand her gaze so I dashed
"I-I'll just buy something to drink!" Then I run off
"Hey the class is about to start!" Spencer called out"
"Arghhhhhh! Why did I run away! You're so dumb Paige!" I say to myself then bumped my head on the wall in front of me.
Later that day
I was walking to return home when I saw Alison standing in front of the brew.
"Ali, aren't you supposed to be working in Hawaii?" I asked her when I saw her
"why are you here? go away!" She snapped at me
"how can you be picking fight when we haven't even seen each other recently?!" I answered her back
"I hate you because you're an idiot" She said sternly then glared at me
"hahahahaha because you're an idiot" I hear someone giggling behind me
"you're so late!we're supposed to meet here ten min. Ago!" Alison said annoyed. To the person behind me.
"Hey Em what are you doing here?" I asked her but she ignored me. Then we enter the brew and take our usual place
Hey don't hang around Paige during the trip" Emily said seriously to Alison
"why would you think I hang with her?" Alison retorted
"You know Paige was rejected by Spencer on the party" Emily said nonchalantly
"Seriously?" Alison replied in shock but she is smiling.
"actually it was right before I was going to confess. She rejected me by hinting that I shouldn't confess" I try to explain what happen that night.
"I see, you got hurt" She said coolly
"You know Spencer likes Paige but for some reason things aren't moving along well. After this year we will be moving for college so it's her last chance to confirm Spencer's feeling you got that Ali?" Emily say to Alison
"I'm fine with it if you are, huh that was a boring conversation I'm going home" Alison said casually then she stood up
"Me too! " Emily say then she grabbed her bag on the chair
"Hopefully you're the only one getting hurt" Alison whispered to me when she grabbed me by the collar.
"What that does mean?" I asked her displeased to everything that is happening
"Someone stupid as you could never understand" She said then walks outside the brew
EPOV
"Why are you following me!" I say to Paige irritated
"What! this is my way too!" She said then I see that she giggled so I turned my back. I don't know how long will I be able to resist her charm
Then we begin to walk again but she is still a few feet away from me.
"So I never think that you will go this far for me and Spencer" She said loud enough for me to hear.
"Well thank you for that" She continued. I didn't say anything but she still continued on talking
"So I-I'll do my best for that trip, perhaps confirming Spencer's feeling will be a waste of time and effort but.." She mumble then I cut her off immedieatly
"arghhh! You and Spencer liked each other, seriously it will be alright " I said but still continued on my tracks
"Where did you get all of your confidence? Huh Fields?" She asked Then I stppoed walking then looked at her
"You want to know? It is because I have a reason to believe at that."
"Huh? " She asked
"In other words I believe in you. You are capable of becoming Spencer's lover." I said then smiled at her. I hope my smile will not show everything I'm holding up inside. But I guess Paige is to numb to notice everything.
"Hey I need to go somewhere first so bye!" I said then walk to other direction but I stopped then looked at her she is still standing there open mouthed
"by the way Paige! Don't run away next time it's not the Paige I know"
PPOV
"Ahmmmm hi Spencer!" I say happily to Spencer when I saw her on the intersection.
"Good Morning McCullers!" She replied enthusiastically. I will never get tired of her beautiful smile.
"It's about yesterday..how can I put this up..I-Im sorry" I mumbled.
"Huh? What are you talking about?" She said dumbfounded
"It wasn't even in my mind" She continued. She really is good at easin g the tension. And then I saw that the green light is on and we are able to cross the intersection.
"So well I'm going first" I said then smiled at her then started to walk.
"Hold her!" Someone yelled then I looked automatically at the source of the loud voice then I saw Emily dashing then I stopped on my tracks because I felt that someone holds my hand. Then I saw that it was Spencer. She removes her hand immediately when she realized that she is holding my hand. I saw that her cheeks are starting to burn.
"Don't underestimate me!" Spencer screamed then she hold me on my sleeves
"Nice one Spence!" Emily screamed then she throw her bag on me.
"Paige you need to bring my bag! Because you get caught!" She said then she runs towards the pedestrian lane.
"What the hell is wrong with her?!" I said loudly then when I looked at the stop light it is red again
"darn!" I groaned
"Damn it Em! Damn it Em! Damn it Em! Damn it Em!" I hear Spencer mumbling softly her cheeks is very red by now
"Spencer?" I asked her then she immediately looked at me
"No! It is tots alright with me! Come on let me hold the other side of her bag" She said then we started to walk.
"By the way your hair looks different" I commented then I looked at Spencer but she is still looking straight ahead
"Oh this? I cut it a bit shorter" She said then touch her hair
"I'm surprised you notice it though" She said
"Well that's because I always look at you" I said casually then I saw that she smiled
"Wow that was a shocking confession" She said then she nudge me at my side
"yeah huh?" I said then grin like a fool.
Yeah I really need to move forward. I think to myself
"You're also playing field hockey right?" I asked her again to start a conversation.
At the lockers
"hi Ali!" Spencer greeted Alison energetically.
"oh my, good morning Spencer" Alison said sarcastically looking at the bag that Spencer and I are holding
"did you see Emily?" Spencer asked Alison
"No I didn't see her how should I say this wait...it is really oh my" She sarcastically again
"what do you mean oh my?" I asked her this time
"Beats me I wonder what I meant what did I mean?"She said then slowly turns around then walks slowly
At the room
"Okay so The groupings for our ski trip is posted at the board just look at it later. You need to make a guide book and you need to pass it next week before our trip okay guys? So check the groupings now and discuss it later i'll dismiss you now." Ms. Angeles said then she dismissed our class.
"So I guess the four of us are in just one group and there would be Mona too" Hanna said then she smiled from ear to ear.
"Yeah I guess" I said
"So where do you want to do this guidebook thing?" Emily asked.
"Ahmmm I think my house would be available for Sunday afternoon" I said then they all look at me.
Sunday afternoon.
"Wow it never crossed my mind that you live in a place like this McCullers" Mona said then she sits on the couch.
"Em you live nearby right?" Alison questioned
"Ahmmm yeah but a few houses away" Emily answered casually
"Okay so let's begin!" Hanna exclaimed
"I'll just go make some tea" Emily said then she walks to the kitchen
"I'll help you Em" Hanna said then she followed Emily
"Okay Han wait I forgot something just wait for me in the kitchen" Emily said then I followed her.
"Hey Em you can talk to Hanna normally now?" I asked her dumbfounded
"Well I guess I get used to it by the way you shouldn't care about it just help Spence on the project" She said then she walk passed me

"Paige I just need to say something to em." The brunette said then she stood up then went to the kitchen but she stopped on her tracks when she hears the conversation on the other side of the wall.

"You know it is weird that Paige has usable tableware in this house. The last time I went here was about months ago so I had a wrong Idea." Hanna said then she sits on the kitchen island.
"This must be thanks to you" She continued
"No I haven't done anything lately Paige have been doing all of this all herself" I said then wait for the microwave to ping
"The reason she's able to do this is because you're here" I blushed at her comment.
PPOV
"Actually I'm looking forward for this trip well I mean, it's the last time our class will be doing something together. This group is really fun you know. I'll be lonely without it. If you could just stay like this forever."
Yeah you're right if we could just stay like this I say to myself as I remember my conversation with Spencer a while ago.
I, Spencer and everyone stay like this. Then I looked at my friends laughing and goofing around. I looked at Spencer and she looked back at me then gave me her warm smile.
That's right I can't stay like this forever. I have to confirm Spencers true feelings on this trip.
On the bus to the (mountain the the ski wil be held)
I looked outside the window of the bus and I looked around to spot where Spencer is seating. Then I saw her, she is laughing with Emily and Hanna.
I need to do my best and deliver all those rejected feelings to her once again!
I think to myself.
Nothings gonna stop me now.
a/n: hey guys I'm already about to finish this fic I guess there will only be 3 or 4 chapters left. So I really like to thank you for giving time for this thing.
