By noon water was given out to ration in five gallons of water per person or head of the family for the whole year. It's a great bargain if the person is single but very difficult for families. Some parents would even kill their children in secret for that year round water. Unlike the other rations like coffee or chocolate the water had a pure crisp taste the quenched the thirst. It was something to savor in the summer time and on that one day a week when he or she gets off work to pour a small glass of water with ice. It was a break from the bitter Victory Gin. Water is usually the essence of life as well as the essence of death.
If anyone in Oceania had the chance to look at history properly they would have know how easily water could be tapered with. In ancient Greece the wells were poisoned during war. The Black plague spread quickly through the help of dead bodies being dumped in the river. In America before its downfall by Big Brother there had been cases were corporate companies polluted rivers and ponds, poisoning small living areas around them with cancers and death. If anyone had the chance they would have been more leery about the water but it was a basic need that had to be savored.
By 2:00 the rations were out to the people. Some of them eager to pour that glass of water or better to just drink it from the bottle which most of them did. After most of the population drank the water the foreigner began to take over. The host wouldn't know something was wrong within thirty minutes until the fever started, by then it would have taken most of the organs. By evening the host wouldn't be able stand up without falling over experiencing severe chills and heat sweats. Once the foreigner hits the brain the host will start to hallucinate before he or she becomes liquefied. Once it becomes full dark the host will be nothing but a bloody mass of human for only 2 minutes then it would reform itself again into the person that was before.
The water took 99% of the population of Oceania. The 1% left human were mainly individuals of the Inner Party, O'Brian being one of them. Ever since he saw the monster on the screen he had felt paranoid to the point were he killed his servant (who was still human) and burned the remains along with his clothes. Tonight when the infect 99% were secretly fleeing Oceania to America O'Brian had his door double bolted and the windows barred. That night he had little sleep.
Over in America colonies formed over night with plans to spread the foreigner to other places but not before they celebrate. "We must have a feast before we spread," informed Russell to the new humans. In all the colonies the ones with the most knowledge of cooking and preparing went to work for the feast in each colony. It took two hours for the feast to begin but before that the colonies celebrated through drinking the best the foreigner told them to find (they hit the jack pot when the men found well preserved liqueur's like wine, brandy, etc. underground).
That night most of the new humans (including Winston and Julia) drank to the point of blacking out but was always able to get sober in twenty minutes with a hard hang over. Once the feast began everyone was eager to eat (as well as try to sober up faster) stuffing their stomachs to the point of bursting. After the celebration the woman and children went to bed to rest while most of the men were stationed off to spread to Eastasia and Eurrussia. Winston was lucky enough not to go.
"You've done plenty enough for now, Winston. You can go be with Julia and enjoy each other's company," said Russell. Winston was about to thank the dog when a white wolf appeared.
"Russell when are you coming," said the wolf, the feminine voice indicated it was a female.
Russell turned to the female, "I'll be right there Mia. Now Winston enjoy Julia like I'm going to enjoy Mia." Winston watched the dog come to the wolf rubbing their necks together then went to do the thing that Winston was going to do with Julia.
