"So the world has ended," said Winston, watching the people of the world build a spacecraft for the foreigner to leave for the next planet. The world had changed dramatically within days. The old government has fallen; a new one is in the works. The New Humans have been digging up old artifacts before Big Brother took over. It wasn't 1984, the year was actually 2199. Winston was holding a old magazine of President Regan being elected president that year.
"No, it hasn't ended, I just helped it evolve quicker," said Russell.
"So does that mean we're at peace?"
"Not exactly, Winston. Humanity as an individual is different from humanity as a society. Whoever I inhabit I must as the person wills to survive whatever that may be."
"And what would those wills be?"
"Possibilities are endless," said Russell, "The only difference between the old and the new is my voice is louder then your own conscience." Winston looked away from the huskie and up to the ship, it was almost complete. Looking up at the craft he felt an uneasy certainness. Will it go back to the way it was?
"No it won't, Winston. So long as there's a person that prefers freedom over slavery I will enact on that will for our survival."
"What if there's no such person?"
"Of course there is, Winston. I can hear them in my head as we speak, your son being one of them."
"My what?" said Winston, feelings of excitement and fear knotted his insides. His memories of children being scouts for Big Brother were still fresh in his head. The dog made a very human laugh.
"Yes, Winston, you're going to be a father and he's going to be rebellious and caring as you. Since that's to light be you should also be prepared to have more children because Julia's going to propose to you."
"She is?"
"Yeah, but don't tell her I said that," said Russell, but his warning was in vain. Julia was standing behind him.
"Oh Russell, you ruined the surprise," said Julia but wasn't offended by the revelation. Julia came closer to Winston with a blue box in her hand. She opened it up for Winston to discover two thin but magnificent silver rings. "Since you already know…..will you marry me?" Without another word Winston picked her up kissing her passionately on the lips that felt endless and wanted it to be endless. "So is that a yes?" she asked feeling breathless for a second.
"Of course, Julia," he said feeling unbelievably happy.
"Ahh, so wonderful to part from this planet with a happy site," said Russell once the doors to the completed ship was opened. The huskie was about to leave when Julia touched the fur gently.
"Wait, what about your family? Aren't you going to have puppies?" asked Julia. Russell looked up at her with no sorrow of leaving but they weren't empty of emotion.
"I'm a dog, Julia. If my mate and I were humans I would stay and tend to the babies but, I'm not. Besides I'm not totally leaving them nor anyone else that hears me. After all I am everywhere at the same time so there's no need for mourning." After Russell said his goodbyes he went up into the ship, waving his paw goodbye before the door closed. Winston and Julia watched the ship take lift off into the sky, watching it go higher and higher until there was nothing to see. Once it was finally gone Winston went back home with his fiancé where a white wolf was waiting at there door step.
"Russell told me about your son," said the female wolf, "I figured you're children would like some playmates."
"What's your name?" asked Julia, petting the wolf's head.
"Nora," she said, licking the hand of her new master then all three went inside. It was the dawn of a new beginning.
The new planet was called Gaea in the year 1984. Scientist Carpenter and his crew of archeologist have spotted a signal coming from the Great Epoch. It took approximately 72 hours to find the ship and the specimen a meter away. In the block of ice, they discovered the specimen was either a dog or a wolf but couldn't tell what. As they were slowly melting the ice, Russell was beginning to wake. Thus the cycle begins.
