A/N: A new update! Again, credit goes to Hiya and Sathi.

Disclaimer : I don't own Soul eater. Hiya and Sathi have the same credit as me :p

"Should I try to start a conversation? Yeah, that would be a good idea. After all, I'm the one who wanted to talk." Soul thought. But he couldn't think faster than Maka. She's the smart one after all.

"Umm….," She started startling Soul. "You want to go to the park?"

"Sure"

They silently walked to the park with worries forming rapidly by the moment in both of hearts. "I know he's my friend but I don't want to tell him about me. Hell, nobody knows about my fathers... habits. And he's no different. " thought Maka.

" Ouch!" Maka wasn't looking where she was going and ended up walikng into tree.

"Wow, when did we get to the park?" Maka voiced looking at Soul.

Soul noticed Maka waling up to the tree but wanted to know if she was really paying attention or not to her surroundings or not. That's why he didn't stop her. And soon he got he's answer when Maka cried out from the sudden friction. "That's it. She's hesitating to the limit of not even knowing when she got to the park. I knew I was pressuring her. Damn it. There's no way she wants to tell me something so personal. I've gotta clean this uncool mess" was his brain ranting when he caught Maka staring at him.

" You okay, Soul?"

" Actually, no." What Soul was thinking of doing, he didn't dare know.

" Why,what's wrong? Are you feeling okay?"

" I'm feeling fine Maka. But you aren't"

" What are you sa-"

" You don't want to talk to me about your personal matters. That's why you were rattling your brain too hard and didn't even notice your course."

" NO! That's not it Soul." Maka said like she was caught doing some crime.

" Listen Maka. You don't need to be polite, okay, I get it. I wouldn't go telling some stranger about my personal problems either. I'm sorry I've made you feel uncomfortable."

"... I'm sorry. I truelly am Soul"

" there's nothing for you to say sorry for. I'm the one who pushed too far here. again I apologise for my misbehaviour. Can we put this behind and be like we always were? ''

Maka sighed in result of relaxation form being freed from the interrogation. But another reason would be frustration because Soul was talking like a gentleman to her and she did not like it. But still...

" Yes we can, Soul." Maka agreed with a smile.

"Great" Soul grinned but he's eyes could reflect he's inner turmoil due to this somewhat rejection. Not that Maka noticed.

Maka smiled for the first time in this conversation as she saw Soul grinning despite the sadness she felt within. Maka made sure not to show the storm swirling inside of her. But as soon as she noticed the sky darkening she could feel fear electrify through her. " Umm.. Soul i need to go. Now."

" What? Why right now?"

" Because if I don't papa's gonna be rough " Maka gasped the moment the words left her mouth.

" Your papa rough? What the hell does that mean? What are you saying Maka? Is your papa doing something to you? If so-"

"Don't get the wrong idea Soul. My papa doesn't do anything inappropriate to me just so we're clear." fumed Maka.

"Then what were you sa-?"

" It was a slip of tounge forget about it. I'm going now bye."

" Wai-" and Maka sped of interupting Soul for the third time in the exchange of dialogues. Soul just kept staring for a while in the way Maka took off. And he couldn't really comprehend what came over the petite female. But that didn't help in him feeling utter disappointment and rejection in the way Maka ignored him throughout the whole small amount of time they spent somewhat conversing.

So Soul let his bangs cover his eyes and started walking to his own residence in a normal manner. At least it looked normal to the strangers walking with their own worries in mind. Soul would never let anyone in to see his heart. He was too cool for that, wasn't he?

Keys turned. She entered.

"Baby, welcooooooooome back honey! Papa loves you!" Everything completely normal.

Well nothing abnormal about sweating like hell and blood and bruise covering all over her papa's body was abnormal to Maka after all.
