Minty-chan: ^v^
Ichigo: You updated again!
Minty-chan: Yep! ^v^ I'm so proud! Have fun reading! X3
"Yo! I'm Okumura Akashi, short-term transfer student from Seiren Academy. Pleased to meet you!" (A/N: Teehee Kuroko no Basuke reference~ :3) The student introuduced himself. A wave of murmurs fell across the class.
'Okumura? Is that Okumura-kun's brother? They look exactly alike!'
"Alright, Okumura-san. There is a free seat beside Kashino-san." The sensei said. Okumura sat down beside me.
"Hi Kashino." Okumura said. No suffix? We aren't even close, I don't even know him! Who does he think he is?
"Hi Okumura-san." I replied stiffly. "I am Kashino Sakura-"
"Aoi. I know. My brother talked about you."
"Who's your brother?"
"Okumura Kuuga." EHHH?!
"SERIOUSLY?!" I say a little bit too loud. The whole class turns to look at us.
"Okumura-san, Kashino-san, I would like for you two to pay attention to class."
"Sorry!" I say, embarrassed.
"We'll now resume the class after that little skirmish." The sensei announces.
Finally! It's lunch break. I go to the cafeteria with Kuyuki to buy my lunch. Kuyuki-chan said that Sachio-kun made her a bento box. Did something happen over the period of time that I out? Well, their relationship certainly developed. Anyways, everyone was just doing their thing. Sachio-kun and Kuyuki-chan were chatting while I was waiting in the line for my food, and Takeshi-kun was flirting with girls, like usual. I didn't spot Kuuga anywhere, but Okumura-kun had asked me to eat lunch with him when class was over. I said maybe, and even now, I was still deciding whether or not I should eat lunch with that weirdo. I sighed. The first-term finals were also creeping around the corner...
Ugh. I'll go to sit with Okumura-kun. I might find Kuuga around him. Now, where is that creep?
There he is. Not that I'm particularly happy about that.
"Hi." I said stiffly, popping up beside him.
"AHHH!" He said, nearly falling out of his chair. "Oh. It's just Aoi-chan!" Great. Kashino, with no honorific, and now Aoi-chan? How could Kuuga be related to someone like this? I sighed.
"Don't call me Aoi-chan." I muttered.
"Okie-doke, Aoi~" Okumura said, happy as ever. I mentally facepalmed.
"I didn't mean that, but I guess you could say that too." And of course, he wasn't listening, but beckoning for Kuuga to come over to our table.
Great. Just great.
"Kuuga! Come here~" He said, waving his hands. Kuuga tried not to pay attention, but failed, and like me, was forced to sit with the hell of a weird guy.
"What do you want?" Kuuga asked, with a hint of annoyance.
"I wanted to talk to you and Aoi~" Okumura said.
"Okumura, would you mind getting me a napkin?" I asked. Both of them stood up and said,
"Okay./~!" (Kuuga/Okumura)
"Never mind." I said, both of them sitting down. "We have to do something about this last name problem if we're going to sit together."
"Yep~"
"Well, yeah."
"So either I call one of you by your first name and the other by your last name, or I call both of you by your first name."
"Whatever. I don't care, as long as you aren't confusing me with this guy." Kuuga said, poking Okumura hard in the shoulder.
"Ooh! Ooh! Call me Akashi! I call you Aoi already!"
"I could just call you both by your first names."
"I already said that I don't care."
"Sure!"
"Okay, Kuuga and Akashi, right?"
"...Yeah..." A gentle blush crept onto Kuuga's face. He looked so cute...
"Yep!" Akashi said, smiling wide. Jeez, didn't this guy ever calm down?
"Are you done your lunch, Kashino?"
"Neh, neh, Kuuga, you should call Aoi Aoi too! Then we can be the friend club!"
"No thanks."
"Now, please introduce yourself." The sensei said.
"Hi everyone! My name is Okumura Akashi, the transfer student from Seiren Academy! Pleased to meet you all!" The overly hyper boy said.
"Okumura-san will be joining A Group. Now let's continue with the lesson. Before that, the Grand Prix is taking place again this year! It will be allowing teams of two and more, a complete first! Quickly decide on your teams and if you want to join or not, it's happening two weeks from now."
"Sugoi! I wanna join!" A voice said. I jumped, startled.
"Oh. It's just you." I said.
"Mou, I'm in A Group too!" Akashi said.
"Yeah, yeah, let's pay attention to the lesson now." I said. He really needed to be more serious. How'd he even get into A Group?
"Okay, today we will be making pound cakes. I'm sure we all know how to make one, but if you require assistance, call me over. You may work by yourself or with a partner. Get to work!" The sensei said.
"Hai, sensei!" We shouted, as we got out the ingredients.
"Kuuga, let's work together!" I heard someone say. I turned, only to find Akashi with a idiotic grin plastered on his face.
"Hai, nii-san." Wait, did Kuuga just say 'nii-san'?! That's a first. I watched them as they quickly got to work. They were like two perfect halves of a circle, working together perfectly.
"Aoi-chan, get to work or you won't finish in time!" Takeshi-kun reminded me.
"Right, right." I replied, starting to measure my ingredients. Half a cup butter, a cup all-purpose flour, three fourths cup white sugar, two tablespoons and two teaspoons milk, one egg, half a cup quartered strawberries, half a teaspoon vanilla extract, half a teaspoon ground almonds, and two tablespoons water for a strawberry pound cake.
I preheated the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), then greased 1 square baking dish. I beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer in a large bowl until it was light and fluffy. The mixture was noticeably lighter in color. I added the egg, allowing the egg to blend into the butter mixture. I beat in the vanilla extract and ground almonds with the egg. I pour flour alternately with milk, mixing it until just incorporated. I folded in strawberries and water; mixing just enough to evenly combine. I poured the batter into prepared pans. I baked it in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, which was about 1 hour. I ran a paring knife between the cake and the edge of the pans and allowed cake to cool completely before removing from the pan. I poured some cream on, and put a few fresh sliced strawberries on the top to garnish it. At last, it was ready.
"Is everyone finished?" The sensei asked. Phew, just in time. Around me, I saw many other cakes. One especially caught my eye. It seemed to be an ordinary dark chocolate pound cake, covered in melted white chocolate, garnished with a shred of milk chocolate. Standing beside it was the Okumura twins, Akashi and Kuuga.
