Chapter 18
The sun was just about to disappear when Sky and Duncan were outside searching for the source of the loud bang. They started to hear a low level beeping sound coming from behide one of the trees. "Duncan, what is that", Sky asked.
"I'm not sure. But whatever it is, it can't be good". As they got closer the beeping noise got louder and more frequent and then as soon as it started it stopped. "Okay, I'm starting to get a little scared now", Duncan wrapped his arm about her shoulder and kissed her forehead.
"As long as I am breathing you don't have to be scared of anything". Sky smiled and they continued walking into the forest. Just up ahead they saw what looked like someone was walking around. "Who could be wondering around at this time Duncan". He shrugged his shoulders as they got closer and closer to the person.
As they got even closer the person seemed to be moving quicker as if it was in two places at once. "Something's not right here" Duncan said as the figure stood still for a couple of seconds. "Who do you think it is" Sky asked.
Out of no where a voice said "Not who but what". Both Sky and Duncan jumped and turned to see Rythian stood there. "Fucking hell, Rythian you scared the shit out of me" Sky whispered to him whilst hitting his arm lightly.
"Sorry, but if you are going up against Endermen you are going to need some help". Duncan looked at the 'Endermen' and said "They don't look like Endermen".
"These are Sipsco's specially modified Endermen which are a lot shorter with much longer claws. They are slower but can teleport silently so you have to have acute hearing to even know their next move" Rythian explained.
"But that doesn't explain the loud explosion we heard earlier", Sky asked looking very confused. "Whenever a bunch of Endermen teleport to one place they make a huge crater like that one there", he pointed to the rather large crater about 100 yards from them.
"So do we attack them or what". Rythian shook his head "It is best if you leave them to me and just go back to base okay and don't tell anyone about this". At first they were hesitate but they listened to him and made there way back to base.
Duncan and Sky finally got back and were faced with a very Hannah. "And where have you two been for the last couple of hours, we were all worried sick that something had happened to you". They both were looking at their feet. "Are you going to tell me or am I going to have to find out some other way".
They looked at each other and they knew she would find out anywhere, so they explained the whole Enderman thing and Rythian telling them not to tell anyone. "I guess that sounds believable" she said as she left the two and went to bed.
"How are feeling" Duncan asked Sky as they sat down near the smeltery. His arm was round her shoulder and their heads resting on each others. "I'm the best I have been for a long time".
He smiled "that's good to hear". After a few minutes they both decided they should get some sleep. "Duncan... Ummm could I sleep with you tonight, it's just the Enderman thing, really freaked me out". He pulled her into a hug and said "of course silly". She looked up at him, into his eyes. They were like this for what seemed like forever and then their lips met...
