Jill closed her eyes for some seconds. At that moment the only thing she knew was that she wanted to avoid the upcoming disapproving look from Chris and the questioning from Leon, they'd probably manifest their dissatisfaction with her attitude soon.

She did not expect people to understand what she did, she was not willing to give explanations or excuses. She just wanted to get away from that place and finish what they had to do.

Jill knew she would need to act the same again, reasonable. And she knew this time it would be even harder, but she would not hesitate.

If she was facing that experience as an oportunity for fun some hours ago, now it was indeed an opportunity to learn how to control her emotions to do the right thing.

Before anyone could say something, she turned around and started walking.

"Alright let's go." Jill gripped her sword firmly. Chris stood there behind her and nodded. Their footsteps echoed.

The guard stood there and frowned. "Did everyone forget I'm here?" The guard did a slight and mindful jog. Those lifeless hands were still in his mind.

After walking for some minutes, the walkway of the tunnels began to become narrow to the point that Jill has the right size and Chris was bending his back. Jill could not understand what was going on, but she started to feel some kind of malaise.

A strong and bad energy was coming out from that place. Jill felt dizzy, so she took two steps backward to avoid falling down. Soon she felt a strong hand holding onto her waist. She gave him no time to ask her the logical question, she did it first.

"How are you feeling?" Jill laughed trying to ease the tension.

"I'm beginning to have a strong dislike for this place." Chris was careful with his sword on his other hand. "Are you ok?"

She just nodded and started walking again, trying to pretend she was completely fine. She could not avoid that place, so she only hoped she could get used to that bad energy that was making her head so heavy.

The fit didn't stick around for too long because a glimmer of light was shown. Jill also noticed the narrow path was getting wider now. She wanted to say something but refrained from sounding too sarcastic. The light was getting bright and at the end of the path was a hole to a large open space. Jill kneeled down and looked through seeing a stone bridge and below it was a crystal clear lake. Jill looked up.

"There is a wide cavern below us. The drop looks to be about two meters." Jill set her sword down. Chris thought of an idea.

"Let me go first okay?" Chris set his sword beside Jill's and he entered the opening to the drop. He was hanging from the opening and let go to see the ground. He let his grip go and landed on his feet.

Jill looked down to see Chris with his arms open. "What about the swords, dropping them sounds like a terrible idea."

"It's the best we got." Chris shouted back.

Jill had no choice but to rip off two pieces of here clothing to wrap the swords and she dropped the swords and both landed flatly. Chris retrieved them then set them aside on a rock. Chris opened his arms and smiled.

Jill set her legs dangling over the opening and jumped through to be caught in Chris's comforting arms. He set her down and quickly he laughed. Jill looked down to see that he noticed her ripped clothing. She did her shirt which showed her stomach slightly causing her to blush. Chris eased up and gave Jill her sword.

"Hey wait for me." The guard called with his head peeking out over the opening. From the opening a line of rope appeared and the guard used it to get down. Jill rolled her eyes if she had waited she could have saved her clothes a little. The three looked around to see the cavern reflect the water so the ceiling looked like dancing lights. Where the light was coming from was unknown but it made the place seem magical almost.

"We have to keep moving. I'll go first, wait here is something happens." Chris began to walk across the bridge.

Upon further inspection Jill noticed that the lake was a circle and around the ends where neatly aligned boulders. She readied her guard. Chris made it to the other side and waved his arm.

The guard looked at Jill. "It's your turn now."

Jill looked toward Chris and started to cross too. Then a blood curling roar consumed the cavern. Jill looked around to see some sort of black mist exit a boulder and was quick to be on the bridge. The creature was pitch black, looking through it was impossible and the lights didn't even shine off it. It was about to encircle Jill but disappeared as soon as Chris' sword whiffed the air behind it. Chris looked forward from the bridge while Jill watched the rear. The guard ran beside them to be about two feet away.

"What was that thing?" Chris shouted, he fought plenty of men swords were a tradition for the Redfield family and nothing could have prepared him for this.

"No idea but it's fast." Jill kept herself reserved though it could have easily finished her off if Chris was not there. Her malaise even disappeared totally before that situation.

The guard looked around, he was scared and this creature was stalking them. There was a tug on his leg. He was pulled back, the grind of the stone on his face to feeling nothing beneath him. Chris and Jill are seeing the gun being lifted up by the creature. Two large fangs manifested itself on the creature's eyes. Jill sprinted to the creature with her sword on high. The creature faded and was several feet away and Jill tried again another time. From there a red aura appeared from and so the guard struggled.

While attempting to free himself the guard felt a growing pain inside his stomach. It was turning and turning then the pain grew sharper as if being stabbed with the bladed being twisted constantly. The guard shouted with blood at the lips, he waved his legs with his dwindling strength.

From Jill's view a green mist was emanating from the guard and it was becoming clearer that the guard's life was being extracted by the creature. The guard face was beginning to wrinkle and his legs stopped waving and the man went limber. The creature dropped the man and it shot for a boulder.

Chris was dumbfounded by what he saw; Jill was about to take a step but Chris stopped her.

"What are you doing?" Jill looked at Chris.

"That is a bait tactic, it wants to separate us. Stay close and as much as you want to help him he's dead." Chris kept his eyes on their surroundings.

The creature appeared in front of Chris and shoved Jill away. Grabbed by the throat Chris lifted his sword to plunge into the space of the creature. It disappeared with his sword centimeters away from Jill's stomach. Jill brushed the sword aside and stood beside Chris again.

"It's a trickster and loves our reaction. We need to figure this thing out if you want to see the sun again." Jill and Chris made their way to the corpse to see if he had anything useful. Chris kneeled down to see three daggers, a pouch of water and the rope. He left the water alone for the moment. He passed two daggers to Jill and one for himself. The creature appeared again and this time above them with a blacken spike extending forward to the pair. Chris returned to his feet to slowly but Jill put her dagger in front of the sharp tip. The blade broke in the process leaving two daggers left.

"We can't fight it." Jill kept her sword close.

"You got that right." The guard coughed. He slowly returned to his feet while Jill and Chris kept an eye out for the creature. The guard returned to his feet and looked around. He was tired and he looked around. "Can you hand me a dagger please?"

Chris was about to pass his but the creature sped past him then it pushed the guard of the bridge and into the water. Chris was close enough to be pushed too and fell in. Jill didn't think but of concern so she jumped in too.

When Chris reached the water and landed on his back. The odd thing was that the water was still there but he could breath, and so can Jill. Both looked around to see the area become bright light and the guard was lying down breathing.

"What's going on?" Jill said seeing bubbles come from her lips.

"This is all new to me." Chris said that to see the creature splash into the water too. The creature was still black as shadow but it stayed in view this time; on the upper part of its body were two bright white eyes. Jill readied her sword learning that she can move freely was if she was outside water. Chris stood next to her.

"Something is off here but let's use it." Chris started to charge the creature with the sword on high while Jill took her sword with newfound strength and did a swift piercing motion to the center. Both believing this to be fruitless and to find out they hit the creature.

It shrieked and waved its right spike in the air. Apparently that was its right arm. Jill was low but since Chris wasn't her was knocked back by the creature. Jill twisted the blade to see if the thing can bleed, it shrieked again and pulled its spike back and thrust it in Jill's torso, Chris came back and used the sword to stop it halfway, and the weapons struck each other with such strength. Chris hands were burning from the force.

"Jill, hurry up!"

The twisting blade didn't show anything of the creature so she withdrew it and rolled backwards. Chris did have many options so in an act of despondency, Chris made a fist and forced his sword forward to knock the spike away and with a heavy straight punch he knocked the creature back.

"Figure anything out?" Chris felt his hands return in feeling.

"Not much other than it can feel pain now." As soon as Jill said that the creature began to move again to see it advance significantly slower. At the same rate as human running, still enough to be tracked unlike before. So Jill and Chris braced themselves for the attack. Chris pulled out his dagger and tossed it with random effort to the charging creature for it to land near one of its snow white eyes.

It cried in agony and it stopped moving and snapped its top part to the pair. Underneath the blade was a river of blood.

"We have to attack the eyes." Chris grinned in thinking he could return home.

Chris charged instead to the creature. Sword on high and brought down to be blocked by one spike with another one coming from the black creature so that was when Jill showed up for the assist. She tossed a dagger to chink off the spike so the creature noticed Jill. Coming in Jill raised her sword bringing it up low like a golf swing to the creature and it was brought up to cut the second spike arm. So from there Chris pulled back and circled his body around for the sword to gain momentum to hit the side of the creature, it howled from the pain. It brought the second spike to Chris's chest and so it stabbed him in the upper right of his chest.

"Argh!" Chris was wounded but the fight took priority so he tried to pull the spike out before the creature decided to do something clever. Jill used the sword and brought it close to her body and swipe it from her left to right, then from the right to left and brought the sword closely leveled and she brought the hilt of the sword close and pierced the creature with the sword almost going completely through. The spike in Chris was drawn back and Chris took a step back. Jill loved to throw knives with Leon so this was a simple task she tossed the last dagger into the eyes of the beast and it struck the other eye.

Chris positioned himself in front of the creature beckoning Jill to come over. She sprinted forward to be lifted up by Chris so Jill was above the creature and with a viscous kick the dagger dug deeper in the creature. It didn't cry in pain this time but instead blood was escaping the creature and it became weightless.

"YES!" Chris said realizing the water around them started to become heavy and his lungs begged for air. Jill noticed the same Chris started to swim toward the surface. Before Jill could leave she saw the guard struggling in the water. She swam to the man seeing the light of the lake also fading. She grabbed the man and head to the surface.

Chris surfaced from the water. "Well that just happened." He found several gaps in the wall perfect to climb out of the water so he did just that. Jill gasped for air when she surfaced and the guard did too.

"Wait, he's alive?" Chris reached down.

"Yeah, a watery grave doesn't sit well with my conscience." Jill supported the guard to Chris and so he pulled the man out of the water then helped Jill.

The guard coughed up water and looked around. "That's it, I'm quitting this job." He rolled to his side to let the water drip out of his clothes. From the water the same green mist returned to the guard with the wrinkles smoothing out. Jill turned her concern to the stab wound on Chris's shoulder.

"Let me look at that." Jill inspected the wound.

"Hey guard, you got a name?" Chris set his sword down.

"Yeah, it's Quint." The guard removed a small bag from his belt and tossed it to Jill.

It was a syringe kit and Jill worked on Chris' wound.

Hello guys.

First of all I'd like to apologize to everyone for the long time I didn't update.

I had problems with my laptop (not solved yet) and I lost all the introduction I had written to this chapter, with some puzzles. So besides other problems I also had, it really got me down and I was not inspired to write this week.

After reading Will's fight scene – he is responsible for this amazing chapter – and after reading all your lovely reviews again I realized I could not give up. As much as it is difficult to start something all over again, I must try to do it.

So here I am. I still have some good ideas of what I wanna write, I just hope I can feel inspired to get into the story again and get my ideas together in a good way.

Thank you all for being around and for ur support. Because that is exactly what made me come back.

A big hug to all of you.

A special thank for Will (The95Will) for writing this chapter so amazingly. I really appreciatted that and you sure made it very special.

Mister Valentine: Hello dear. I didn't understand why u said: Good chapter when you only brought bad points, but lets go.

First I understand you don't appreciate Jill's attitude. She just acted in the heat of the situation ,without thinking and blamed Leon. But that is exactly what you did about this chapter. You acted in the heat of the situation and just brought bad points about the chapter because you were mad and couldn't understand some of her attitudes.

So I just hope you can understand that if you got insanely mad and lost your control like that over a simple fiction story. Why do you think that Jill, who was a gypsy (out of law) would keep her cool perfectly before a situation that could kill her best friend? She realized she was not fair later and she apologized and. And specially now I analyzed your reaction deeper I realize I did no mistake. You are human, you have the right to lose your cool, but she also has. I like her human, not a robot sometimes.

Like a song I like, I could say that "You committed the same evil you preached against" lol About what she did to Leon by the end... After you got calm you realized that she had her reasons, so I will leave it for the future.

Thanks for your review. Kisssssssssssssssssss.

NerdGirll4Life: My sweet ficfriend. I'm so happy to be back. I was thinking about you, that I could not give up. When I remember you were worried about me not coming back, I know I cannot give up on this. Thanks for always being around sweetie. Kisssssssssssssssssss

xjillvalentinex: Oooh! I'm so sorry for the delay. Thank u very much for ur support always. All this support is what made me come back! kiiiiiiiiiiisssssssss

Ultimolu: yeah, everyone is doomed lol. Yeah, u are right. There are mistakes here and there, cause when you are not a native speaker, u just cant write it perfectly. Thanks for the review.

Roseimagine: oooh im so glad u understood the point of why Jill did that to Leon. There was some misunderstanding with other people in this part. Jill needs to be cold by these moments and she may do bad things again lol. But her intentions are always the best. LOL

Thanks and hope u are better sis. Kisssssssssssss :D
