Hey Guys! I know that I've been MIA for like 2 years or so, and I'M SORRY! Don't hate me! I just got stressed with school, and then just kinda forgot about writing, plus kind of had writers' block with my stories not really sure how I wanted to get to what I wanted. I'm not the best writer, not my true calling, that's for sure. I read many fanfics in my spare time, but didn't write. I'm a sophomore in college now, so I'm busy, but it's about to be Christmas break and I'm pretty much de-stressed now that I've figured out some good study habits to help me out. And, I kinda had a dream about this story and went from there trying to piece it together. BUT, I have like 2 or 3 more chapters written and throughout my christmas break I will post them hopefully after getting reviews again? Please let me know what you think. This chapter is in Max's POV. Chapter 4 will be in Fang's! ENJOY
MAX POV:
We flew together to a small, abandoned hotel about an hour outside of Paris, getting in by simply opening a window on the top floor. After eating the last of the food in our packs (we saw a little grocery store to buy breakfast with the little money we had in the morning), I told everyone to get some sleep. Iggy, Gaz and Nudge all fell asleep within minutes, exhausted from the fight and search we had today. I sat on the ledge by the window, and Fang came to sit by me.
I decided now was as good a time as any to catch him up on everything that had happened since he left. I told him how Ella and Iggy had been brainwashed, but we'd figured out how to get them back. I told him that Mom and Jeb just left the house and didn't come back, and because of that I'd decided that we were no longer going to trust adults. Obviously, I've changed my mind about that-I need my mom.
Of course, talking about my mom made me start crying a little, but not as much as I did earlier in the tree. Fang gently wiped away my tears and rubbed my back. Somehow, no matter what is going on in our lives, Fang always knows exactly what to do or say-I love him for that.
"It's just been so hard lately. With you leaving, then Iggy and Ella getting brainwashed, Mom and Jeb, and now Angel?! It's just too much all at the same time!" I finished.
Fang looked at me with more expression than I've ever seen from him.
"What's wrong?" I asked. Of course it was a stupid question. There was a whole world of wrong in our lives right now, but Fang never shows his emotions this much.
"I just feel so damn guilty, Max. I wasn't here for you when you needed me the most. I went off with Maya and my gang and left you to deal with all of this on your own. With the added annoyance of Dylan telling you he "loved" you every five seconds. I can just tell that you've needed to talk about this-I've always been the person you could talk to about all of this, when things were getting hard and you needed to vent, and I just up and left! I-I'm just so sorry Max…"
Not knowing just what to say yet, I just wrapped my arms around him and hugged him tight, my head resting against his chest. Slowly, he hugged me back, just as tight, and buried his face in my hair just like he did in the tree. He held me like he never wanted to let me go. I didn't want him to let me go either. For a few minutes, we just sat there, holding each other.
Finally, I said, "Fang, that doesn't matter anymore. What matters is that you're here now. You're back with us where you belong. And we'll get Angel back and our family will be whole again." When I finished talking, he pulled away from me and I looked up at him, seeing that half smile that I love. He kissed the top of my head then leaned against the wall, laying down, and pulling me down with him, so I was laying next to him, my head on his chest.
"Get some sleep, Max. I'll finish the watch." He said, as he started rubbing my back to help me fall asleep.
"Okay," I said. "I love you Fang."
"I love you, too. Goodnight, Max."
"Goodnight," I said, and then I fell asleep to the sound of his heart.
So, I hope you liked it! I wrote it during my shift at work tonight, along with the next two and a half chapters. I get really bored at work. Review please and let me know what you think! Again, I'm really sorry I was gone for sooooo loooong. I'll try to be better, at least with this story. I'm still not sure how I want to continue my other story A Maximum Accident. If y'all have read it and have ideas, hmu!
Thanks guys! I'll update again soon, I promise!
