Moonlight cascaded gently through the deep blue, star-sprinkled sky, softly illuminating the resting nation of ponyville. In the greatest castle in canterlot, the moonlight trickled through Celestia's open window. The princess lay awake, remeniscing about the happiness that full moon nights used to bring. The craters on the moon resembled her younger sister's elegant and joyful face. Her sister had a beautiful smile, and big blue eyes that reflected the moonlight like two little ponds. Oh, how she wished to see that face again.

"Luna?" Celestia looked out the window, looking at the moon hopefully. "If you can hear me, I just want to say that..." A tear trickled down her soft, white cheeks. "It didn't have to be this way. You didn't do anything. All these years, I was the light of Equestria. I guess I forgot to make sure that my sunlight reflected off the moon, too. If only we could watch the moon rise together one more time..." The princess continued her monologue, not caring that tears covered her face. "It just doesn't feel right rising the moon every night. You belong down here..." She forced out her last words before going back to bed. "I love you, little sister...Good night..."

Celestia knew that her spell would last for a thousand years. How foolish was she to banish her sister to the cold isolation of the moon, not only that, but banish her for a millenium with not even a "goodbye", and not even an "I love you"! But there was no turning back now. All the ponies still thought what she did at that time. They thought her younger sister, even with her royal blood, was bad, and was sure to be gone for a thousand years, which, at the most, was just long enough. They would all panic if Celestia brought back her beloved sister.

Of course, one year couldn't be that much of a difference, right?
