Back again! ^_^ Only took two weeks! TWO! I think that might be a record! Lol. I finished about half of this last night just to post it today... I had been watching an anime called Ouran Highschool Host Club for the past four days and I had gotten hooked on it so that's why I finished this last night. Thank you for the 10 reviews for my last chapter!

Disclaimer: I don't own Ghost Hunt, too bad though! I would have continued it!

Mai's POV

It's been three days since the whole 'Phone-dying-and-Naru-being-mad-at-us' incident. Naru has forbidden Luella, Madoka, and I from going anywhere alone now. He hasn't actually said it, but we all know it's an unmentioned rule now. Besides, anytime Luella or Madoka talks about going somewhere, Naru's glare throws daggers at them and the temperature drops twenty degrees.

Naru's now stopped calling me at school since... well, the 'incident.' So after school I come straight to the office, and then we basically spend the rest of the day talking. At dinner we'll all go out of eat and we usually go home afterwards. Surprisingly, Naru's taken me home every night since then too. I'm not complaining though, far from it, but I wonder why he's doing it. He's never once done it before his parents came. Maybe he's just being nice since he brought me into his lie.

At school I've been trying to avoid Hiro. As soon as school let's out, I'm gone. But the avoiding Hiro part isn't completely why I'm in a hurry—if I waste time Naru will just yell at me.

"Mai!" I heard someone call me. I slowly turned around and saw Hiro quickly trying to make his way through the crowd of students. I had hoped to get off school grounds before he could spot me. I just knew he'd want to talk about the other night at the restaurant.

"Oh... Hey, Hiro." I greeted as he reached me.

"I... wanted to ask you... something about the other night." He panted. Bingo.

"Oh, yeah, about that... Look, I'm—"

"That wasn't a business dinner was it?" He asked, finally catching his breath. I looked at him surprised but then looked down. Deny it. Say it was. I lifted my gaze to meet his, determined to deny it—

"No... it wasn't." I blurted. Oh crap, I did not just say that!

"What was it then? Why did you lie to me?" I saw a flash of hurt in his eyes. As I've said before, I'm a horrible person!

"It, um... well, it..." I was at a loss of words to know how to explain it to him. I can't just say 'Oh, I'm just pretending to be my very attractive boss' girlfriend to trick his parents into believing he has one. Not to mention I'm in love with him.'

"Don't tell me that guy you were with is your boyfriend. Is that why you always cancel our dates—you have a boyfriend?"

"What? No, that was my boss." I quickly said. Just because I don't want to date Hiro doesn't mean I don't want to be friends with him. He deserved to know the truth.

"You're dating your boss?"

"No! Well, yes, kinda. We're fake dating."

"Fake dating?"

"Yes!" I said a little too loud and some of the students stared at us as they walked by. I bit my lip, feeling embarrassed. Pulling Hiro aside and away from prying eyes, I briefly explained my situation to him. I left out the part where I love Naru though. No need to mention that...

"Why didn't you just me this instead of lying to me?" Hiro asked me. I opened my mouth to answer him, but no words came out. I guess the truth is I don't really know why I didn't. I could have told him the truth, I should have. "You know, Mai... I really like you and everything, but I just don't think I want to be with a girl who would already lie to me. before our first date."

And with that he walked passed me and continued on. Again, I tried to say something to stop him, but nothing came out. I closed my eyes, feeling worse as the seconds ticked by. I sighed heavily, telling myself I'll try to talk to him again and explain things more, and began walking to SPR.

"Hey every—" I stopped as I realized the office was empty. "one?"

Where is everybody?

I looked at Naru and Lin's office doors. They were both closed, and I heard typing coming from Lin's. Since I know Lin's here, I decided to see if Naru was too. Without knocking, I walked into Naru's office to find him at his computer. Since apparently Madoka and his parents aren't here at the moment, he's probably trying to do work while he can. The workaholic!

"Would it kill you to knock instead of barging in here?" Naru gave me a quick glance to knowledge my presence before looking back at his computer.

"Possibly, just like it'd kill you to say 'please' and 'thank you' with your tea." I teased him, grinning. He just glared at me. "Where are Madoka and your parents?" I continued before he could retort. He sighed and leaned back in his chair.

"A client came into the office today and Mother insisted on making tea and everything for him. After he left, she began loudly complaining that we didn't have any sweets so she and Madoka dragged Father with them to go buy some about an hour ago." Naru just stared at me, as if alluding something.

"Hey, don't blame that on me! You and Lin hate sweets and every time I gave them to a client they'd never eat any because they could never stomach anything from being so worried and paranoid! I just quit buying them!" I defended myself.

"I don't believe I ever said it was your fault, Mai." Naru smirked. I glared at him realizing I was jumping to conclusions.

"Jerk."

"Tea, Mai." He ordered without missing a beat. I rolled my eyes and went into the kitchen to make his precious tea. After it was done I walked back into his office and gave it to him. "There's work on your desk that needs to be done." He said as I began to turn and leave. "Since you haven't worked any this week, you need to do it now before they come back, which will probably be a little over half an hour."

"Yeah, yeah, I'm going—Hey that reminds me, did you take the case today?"

Naru just scoffed. "No. It was a complete waste of time."

I mentally rolled my eyes. "How do you know? I mean, sure, there are clients who come in here that have the stupidest reasons to believe they're being haunted but—"

"Even Mother knew it was just a hoax."

I blinked. "So?" I don't see why Luella knowing has anything to do with it...

"Even though she's surrounded by people who study the paranormal, she's never been too keen on it. She said it just never appealed to her, but she has no problem with us doing it." Really...? Well, now that I think about it Luella doesn't really seem like the type to be interested in it. Then again there is Madoka... "Before you go, Mai, would you remind telling me why you were late?" He asked before I could say anything.

"Oh, um, well, Hiro caught me today..."

Naru narrowed his eyes as he took a sip of his tea. "Caught you?"

"Yeah... Ever since the thing that happened at the restaurant I've been avoiding him. But it seems I didn't get out of school fast enough today." I noticed Naru's grip on his cup tightened and his eyes got darker. What's wrong with him?

"What did he say?"

I blinked. Why does he want to know?

"Well, he knew it wasn't a business dinner and he kept asking questions so I told him almost everything... I don't think he'll be talking to me again any time soon though."

"Get to work, Mai." Naru ordered after a moment. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion at his odd behaviour as I turned away and walked to my desk to start working. He always goes from hot to cold!

Madoka, Luella, and Martin came back about an hour later. Naru, and Lin, grumbly came out of his office after Luella noisily announced they were back with the sweets. Madoka and Luella immediately hugged me once they saw me and offered me some of the food which I gratefully took since I was starving.

"You're going to get fat, Mai, if you keep eating sweets like that." Naru scolded me once he saw how much I was eating. "And you're not going to be able to eat dinner if you eat all that either."

"Noll! How could you say that to your girlfriend?!" Luella reprimanded.

"It's true." Naru replied. I stuck my tongue out at him.

"It's not my fault I'm so hungry because you've been working me to death." I took another bite.

"Oh, you poor dear!" Luella hugged me. I sent a smirk to Naru who glared at me in return.

"We want to ask you two something when we get to the restuarant." Martin said later on as we were almost getting ready to leave. Naru and I shared a worried glance.

"You can't ask us now...?" I inquired.

"No, no, it can wait." Madoka answered quickly. If it's so important why would they want to wait, especially when we'd be around other people? Apparently Naru was wondering the same thing from the look on his face. Sometime later we decided to go ahead to a restaurant. It wasn't until after we ordered our food Martin asked me a question, but it wasn't the important question.

"So Mai, are you ready for graduation tomorrow?" He asked.

"Uh, yes, sir. I think I am." I replied with a laugh. I noticed Naru stiffen slightly at Martin's question.

Martin smiled wholeheartedly at me. "Good, you'll be fine. There's nothing to worry about; you're a smart and beautiful young lady. Noll's lucky to have you."

I blushed. "Thank you..."

Naru cleared his throat from where he sat beside me. He probably felt uncomfortable.

"What was it you three wanted to ask us?" He insinuated, looking at Madoka and his parents, giving a quick glance at Lin.

"Ah... Why don't we wait a little longer? I mean—"

"Mother." Naru interrupted her. "Tell us." I'm getting more and more nervous at what it could be. Luella glanced at Martin and Madoka before smiling brightly at me and Naru.

"How about coming back to England with us?"
