Mai's POV

"Pleaaase, Mai!" Luella and Madoka asked, both on either side of me. They had their hands clasped together and they were giving me the puppy dog eyes, which I had no idea why they were doing. I smiled as a laugh escaped my lips.

"Fine. I'll bake a dessert with you two." I agreed, causing them to let out a small happy squeal. "I don't know why you want me to. Like I said before, my cooking is not that great." I said as they guided me into the kitchen with them.

"Oh, stop being so modest and saying nonsense! You're amazing!" Luella exclaimed. We just finished dinner not long ago when Madoka and Luella came into the living room where I was sitting with Martin, and surprisingly, Lin. Then the two women asked me if I would bake something with them.

I have no idea where Naru is—after dinner he had disappeared somewhere. I wouldn't say we're avoiding each other, but after the kiss-on-the-cheek incident this morning, we haven't been alone in a room together—or hardly talked for that matter. I hope I didn't make things awkward by doing that, especially after everything went back to normal from him trying to kiss me. At least I hope he was anyways... though I don't know why he would. He doesn't love me...right?

I'm still so confused by it. I want to ask him but... I just can't; I'm too afraid that things will go wrong then. May-maybe Naru had seen the maids coming and decided to try to act like he was going to kiss me for them to see... since you know, I'm his 'girlfriend'. That does seem more probable than him kissing me willingly...

"So what do you want to make?"

"Hmm..." Luella tapped her chin in thought. "How about...brownies?" She grinned causing me and Madoka to do the same. We all quickly went into action. I got the ingredients with Madoka's help while Luella got the appliances and instruments that we would need. Madoka also suggested we make chocolate covered pretzels.

"I don't think I know how to make those..." I confessed in slight embarrassment. Madoka patted my shoulder with a smile.

"Don't worry about it! We'll show you!"

We soon made the brownies, and while they were baking, we began to start on the pretzels. After we melted the chocolate, Luella told me to drop a few pretzels into the big bowl filled with chocolate and cover them with the spoon I was holding. I glanced at her and she nodded encouragingly.

"That's perfect, Mai! Now use this," Luella handed me this two-pronged fork thingy—is what I believe she called it. "and pick them out." So I did as I was told. I let some of the chocolate drain off it before setting the food on a small tray to dry.

"See, now that's all you have to do!" Madoka exclaimed happily. I nodded without looking at her and continued to repeat my motions with the pretzels and chocolate.

"Oh, I just can't wait until tomorrow tonight! Noll is going to be speechless when he sees you all fixed up, Mai! He won't be able to keep his hands off you!" Luella giggled. I froze as a deep blush crept its way up my neck. Luella took the spoon away from me to stir the chocolate a bit since I was... well, still frozen.

"L-Luella, I-I don't think..." I trailed off only to have the woman speak immediately after.

"Oh, trust me, my dear! He won't be able to! And when we do your hair and makeup, you'll look stunning." I think Luella was getting too excited because on the last word she said, she accidentally slung the spoon around, making some of the chocolate on it come flying off, which hit Madoka in the face. My and Luella's mouths dropped before a laugh escaped our lips. Madoka glared at us. "M-Madoka, I'm sorry!" Luella smiled, but she tried to hide it by covering her mouth.

"You think it's funny, huh?" Madoka asked. Her expression remained un-amused but the tone in her voice said otherwise. Luella nodded as she continued to laugh. Madoka grabbed the spoon from her and dipped it back into the chocolate. I stopped laughing when I realized what she was planning on doing.

"Ah, Madoka! Don't—" But it was too late. Luella's face had chocolate all over it—and she of course didn't find things all that funny anymore.

"Now that's funny!" Madoka grinned at a job well done, then she placed the spoon on the counter. Luella glared playfully at her, and within the next second, Madoka was hit again. They both got their own utensils then and began flinging chocolate at each other. I stepped in and tried to get them to stop—at that moment I felt like John when he does that to Monk and Ayako—but it was futile. Suddenly they had hit me with some of it.

It was on then.

We were running around the kitchen trying to dodge each other's attacks all while laughing and screaming. Somewhere in the middle of the fight we lost our spoons so we resorted to using our hands. The kitchen was a big, chocolate-y mess to say the least. The walls and floor were covered in it, as were we. It wasn't until several minutes after our battle began that Naru, his father, Lin, and the maids all came bursting into the kitchen.

"Mrs. Davis, what's wr—" The black-haired maid began to ask, but she was cut off by chocolate accidentally flying into her face. Madoka, Luella, and I stopped and looked at the newcomers.

"Ha! Look at your face, Angela!" Melissa laughed at her. The other maid glared at her as she tried to wipe her face clean.

"Oh, shut it." She snapped.

"Angela! I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there!" Luella sincerely apologized, covered it chocolate. Martin raised an eyebrow as he looked around at the mess.

"What on earth happened?" He asked, shifting his gaze to us.

"Ahhh... um..."

"Luella started it!" Madoka cried as she pointed to Naru's mother. The maids scurried out the room for a second.

"It was an accident!" Luella fake pouted at Madoka. "Technically speaking, you were the one who started it!"

Naru gave me a cool glare, probably for being childish and making a mess everywhere. "And what about you, Mai?" He questioned. I flinched a bit.

"I-I got... um, dragged into it?" I asked more than stated, causing Naru to roll his eyes at me. The maids came back in then with a few towels in hand. They gave the three of us one each.

"Tha-nks." I quietly told Melissa with my heavy accent. She blinked at me before smiling.

"You're welcome."

"Noll, help Mai to the bathroom so she can take a shower. We've got to get cleaned up." Luella ordered as she took a look at herself then at me and Madoka. Naru sighed and held a hand out for me to take. I had to walk a few steps to do so, which caused me to slip on the slick floor. Luckily Naru caught my other arm and steadied me before I could land harshly on the ground. The maids quickly exited the kitchen again; Naru and I began to follow them out.

"Is there something in the oven?" Lin asked after I heard him sniff the air. I froze. The other two women and I looked at one another in panic.

"The brownies!"

As I stepped out the shower, I wrapped my towel tightly around me. I walked to the bathroom counter and stared at my reflection in the mirror. I sighed at myself.

I'm such a masochist. I really am.

I'm in love with my boss, who has no feelings for me, but yet I'm pretending to be his girlfriend for him to fool his parents... And I really love his parents and Madoka. The more I spend time with them, the more I love this family. When I leave... that's it—I'm never going to see them again. Naru's going to have to tell them we 'broke up' or something along those lines. And speaking of Naru, I haven't been able to stop falling for him even more since I've been his 'girlfriend'. He's been a lot kinder to me—I know it's not just for his parents because he does it even when we're alone—and every time he wraps his arms around me or holds my hand—although that's for his parents—I can't help but get butterflies in my stomach at the gestures.

I sniffed and wiped my moist eyes with the back of my hand. To be completely honest, I don't know how much longer I can keep this up. It hurts being here—being with them—but at the same time, I don't want to leave...

I shook my head as I collected my thoughts. I can't be thinking about any of this right now. I reached of my clothes... but I found none. My eyes widened in horror. I forgot to bring my clothes in here! I was such a dirty mess that I didn't even think about that! But that means I'm gonna have to walk across and down the hall to get my clothes in Naru's room... I gasped. What if he's in there?! I'm in a damp towel with wet hair. I can't go in there! But I can't stay in the bathroom forever either.

I let out a frustrated breath. Why do these things always have to happen to me?

I groaned and slowly began to open the bathroom door. Peeking my head out cautiously to see if anyone was in the hallway, I felt the cool air hit my face. I shivered a bit before skipping to the other side of the hallway. I wish I had taken a shower in Naru's bathroom now, but I didn't want to at the time because it was his private bathroom. What a mistake that was.

"Naru..." I called softly when I reached his door, praying that he wasn't there. I called out again and knocked when I heard no answer. Discreetly, I looked around me again to make sure no one was around before I cracked Naru's door open. I poked my head in and was thankful that Naru wasn't in his room. I also glanced at his bathroom door, and when I found it wide open, I sighed in relief. As I clutched the top of my towel, I tippy-toed over to my suitcase and began to rummage through it. Then I suddenly remembered it was night and I needed to dress in my night-clothes, which was just shorts and an over large shirt. I blew through my mouth in irritation and went to his bathroom in search for my clothes.

When I found them, I re-entered Naru's bedroom only to freeze, gasp, and accidentally drop my clothes that were in my hands. I began to blush head to toe while Naru stood in the doorway of the bedroom with a questioning eyebrow raised. His gaze quickly traveled around my body before landing on my face again, his eyebrows then scrunched together and his mouth slightly a gaped.

"N-Naru!" I squeaked.

"Mai... What are you... wearing?" He asked uncertainly.

"I-I forgot my clothes!" I instantly answered, my voice wavering a bit. "S-So I had to come and get them!" Naru just nodded dumbfounded. I squeaked again, collected the fallen clothes from the floor, and scurried out the room quickly as possible before another word could've been said. I ran back into the bathroom that was across the hall, my face still a blazed. Once in there I slammed the door behind me and leaned against it, panting heavily.

Why is it that ever since we came to England these embarrassing and awkward things have been happening?!

Once I was sure I was completely and utterly calm from that... err, 'episode', I made my way downstairs where everyone else was. The maids were cleaning up the mess we had made and the brownies survived thankfully, Luella told me. Then excitedly she had asked me—along with Madoka—if I wanted to watch a movie. They had said they managed to make all the guys agree to watch it also, so I couldn't disagree to the idea and pass up that opportunity. While Madoka and Luella set things up, they had told me to sit down and get comfortable. Although Madoka had pushed me in Naru's direction so I had to sit beside him... I couldn't decide if it was a blessing or punishment. But when I saw Naru's small smirk I knew it was the latter. He was going to tease about the 'incident' sooner or later, I knew.

Turns out the movie they picked as a horror movie... Great. Unfortunately for me I was freaked out through the whole thing and hid behind Naru a lot. And held into his arm a lot too. Until my fingers turned white.

Perfect.

More things for him to tease me about. I worked in the paranormal field and here I was scared of a movie.

Somehow or another—I'll never know how I did it—I fell asleep through the movie. I could only guess it was during one of the times I was hiding behind Naru. Then I vaguely remember being lifted and then tucked into bed, but I was too tired to open my eyes and see who it was.

Well...this chapter is just kinda a filler, I know. Lol. Probably boring, but I had SUCH a hard time concentrating on this so that's why it's kinda late. ^_^; Sorry! But I'm gonna go finish watching Frozen now! Hehe! 'Oh look...I've been impaled!' Lol, oh Olaf... Please review!
