The Fighter

Humphrey woke up once he heard his loud phone vibrate. "Wonder who it is?" He said tiredly. He looked around the room, and found his old phone on the floor. It kept vibrating until Humphrey answered the call. "Hello?" He yawned.

"Humphrey, meet me my church today. I need to talk to you." With that the person on the phone hung up.

Humphrey was confused, but didn't mind. He threw on some apparel, and woke his new family up. After waking up his whole family he walked into his car, and rode to his destination. "Why do you think Venum called me?" Humphrey asked Kate. Kate was holding the baby in her hands, and responded with a sweet voice.

"Well I heard he was thinking about retirement. I think you should do the same Humphrey." Kate replied sounding serious. Humphrey looked back to the road, and knew he would have to stop fighting for the safety of his family.

Humphrey sighed knowing that he would have to stop fighting for the good of the family. "Alright." Kate looked at him shocked. She didn't think it would be that easy to convince him. "I will." He added.

Kate smiled at Humphrey happy to hear that. "Thank you Humphrey." Humphrey pulled up to the church, which was now in view. He found Venum sitting outside leaning against a wall.

"Hey bro." He yelled, as he got out the car. Venum waved, and walked up to him.

"What's up man. How's your family?" Venum started making conversation.

"It's amazing. Just that the little one cries too much during his sleep." Venum chuckled at this, and looked toward Kate.

"Kate Lilly's inside. She's waiting for you and Sam." Kate nodded, as Venum turned back to face Humphrey. "Anyways I'm guessing you already know I'm thinking about retirement."

Humphrey nodded this wasn't new to him. "Yeah I was told to the ride over here. I'm actually doing the same, because of my family."

Venum smiled, "Good then you do care for your family. Just get a different job." Humphrey chuckled softly.

"Well I wont get used to it."

"By the way Humphrey I need to tell you something." Venum said making it sound urgent. Humphrey didn't say anything, but instead perked his ears up. "I'm moving to Alaska for a few years."

Humphrey laughed at him. "Well good luck in Alaska man. I hope you wont forget about us." Venum shook his head, as a grin appeared on his face.

"I would never forget about you guys. I'll visit every now and then." With that the bell started to ring. They both went inside, and sat next to their own family.

(4 days later)

Venum was at the airport with Sora and Lilly. "They should be here soon." Humphrey's voice was heard from a far.

"Lilly! Venum! Sora!" He yelled getting their attention. Kate followed behind him without the baby.

Once they arrived with them they started to communicate. "Where's Sam?"

"We left him with a baby sitter." Humphrey answered.

"Alright well you came just in time, because we're about to leave." Humphrey smiled at Lilly, once she said that.

"Well I hope you guys have a safe trip, and remember Venum promised me that you guys wouldn't die unless if it was old age."

"And I'm keeping that promise." Venum joined in giving them a small smile.

The man yelled out the trip to Alaska. "Well I guess that's your cue. Later guys." Kate responded.

They all gave each other a large hug, and said there farewells.

Humphrey and Kate looked out the window watching their family members leave. Tears ran down Humphrey's face, while he saw the plane starting to take off. "Later bro." He whispered to himself.

Kate did the same, as they began to leave.

(Time skip: An hour later)

Humphrey's POV

I was watching the news, and I was half asleep until a certain thing woke me up. "A plane has crash in a remote land. It crashed in the mountains of Alaska. No one dares to go off into the mountain, because of bears surrounding the territory. No one has the authority to shoot any of the bears, because they have not done anything wrong. We had a search of the plane from up above, and found a letter on top of the plane. This was for the retired UFC fighter Humphrey Garcia, and it reads 'Humphrey, my brother, if you see this note then you know I have always kept my promises, and even this wont kill me or my family. I'll see you on Christmas Eve.' It seems like we have a survivor in the plane crash, and it seems to be Venum Garcia. He is also a retired UFC fighter."

With that I turned off the t.v, and yelled to Kate lifting myself from the couch. "Kate!"
