Reviewer Responses:
Silent Reader 6100: Thanks!
briannap0122: Thanks, but Trunks won't be going Super Saiyan for a while.
The ani-gamer10: Thanks!
Mzr90: Thanks! You'll see Trunks get more involved in this chapter. I've never written romance before so I'm going to have to hold off on pairings lol.
Scion 141: I didn't realize I made that many mistakes with the last chapter; hopefully I've done a better job with this chapter. I'm trying to get a beta reader but am having a tough time finding one. Trunks failing to locate Natsu was a mistake on my part, I forgot about his Ki sensing capabilities. The power up scene resembling Avatar; TLAB was mere coincidence.
edboy4926: Thanks! As far as Trunks killing Jose in a future Arc I'm not sure about that. Isn't killing against Fair Tail's rules?
Ssjghostrider: Thanks!
Chrisfragger: Thanks!
Fanfictions4ever: I think even Trunks would have some trouble tearing apart a tornado with his bare hands lol. Trunks failure to locate people with Ki sensing was my fault; I forgot about that ability.
drake202: This chapter will be longer than the last and Trunks will be displaying more of his abilities in this chapter.
Alistar: Trunks will be participating more and this chapter and he didn't forget about his Ki sensing capabilities; I did lol.
wolf fang X1: Thanks! Trunks just owning everyone would make for a boring story.
natsuki DDS: Thanks! As for how Trunks will solve the Mafū Heki (Wind Wall) dilemma; you'll see in this chapter. As far as pairings I'm unsure and I probably won't make a pairing for a while. But Erza and Trunks are a possibility.
Disclaimer: I don't own Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, or anything having to do with the Dragon Ball franchise. Nor do I own Fairy Tale or anything pertaining to it. This is just a fan fiction made for personal pleasure and writing experience.
Chapter Cover: Trunks, Natsu, Erza, Lucy, Gray, and Happy despondently face the Mafū Heki (Wind Wall).
Chapter 5: Lullaby Arc III
Trunks frowned as he eyed the wall of swirling wind that surrounded Onibus station. The speed and power of the wind was nothing to scoff at. The Demi-Saiyan had considered charging headfirst and running through the torrent of wind, but had been beat to the punch by Natsu who had been sent torpedoing backwards. Luckily the Dragon slayer hadn't received much damage from his brash decision, save a ripped shirt and a somewhat bruised ego.
Taking this into consideration Trunks had decided it would be better to properly think out his next move. He had been standing in silence for a good few minutes as the rest of the guild decided what course of action to take. Gray had suggested freezing the wind but Trunks had quickly dismissed the idea questioning how it would be possible to freeze wind, especially winds moving at such a rapid rate.
Erza had suggested using her requip magic to transform into one of her armors that had flying capabilities but immediately realized she wouldn't have the magic necessary to do so. It would have been impossible for the scarlet haired girl to fly out of the tornado anyways as Erigor had sealed it off from the top. Happy had concocted the bright idea of using Lucy as a battering ram and barging their way through the tornado, which had resulted in him getting bopped on the head by said mage.
Now Lucy was discussing using one of her Celestial Spirits to help them escape but Trunks didn't want her to waste her magic. The son of Bulma was still clueless about the workings of the world and the finer details of how magic worked, but he knew it couldn't be expended needlessly. As the lavender haired teen stepped closer to the wall of wind he pressed his hand against it. Stinging pain echoed throughout his palm as the winds grinded against his skin. A normal person would have had their hand removed, but Trunks was far from normal.
A smile crept on his face as a light bulb went off in his head; he knew exactly what to do now.
Slowly trekking back to his group Trunks politely interrupted Lucy's speech.
"Your Magic won't be necessary."
The busty blonde's brows rose in surprise. "What do you mean?"
"I know how to break us out of here."
"Well don't just stand there; share it with us." Erza demanded as she jumped into the conversation.
"I'll just show you."
Turning his back from the Fairy Tail mages Trunks motioned for the group to back up.
"What is he doing?" Gray asked as he watched the Demi-Saiyan cup his hands together and drop into strange stance.
"Whatever he's doing it looks cool!" Natsu shouted as he ignored Trunks warning, stepping closer to him to get a better view.
But before the pink haired mage could take another step he was pulled back by an irritated Erza.
"Can't you sense the power he's building up? Whatever he's doing we need to be as far from it as possible!"
Dragging Natsu backwards the rest of the Fairy Tail mages followed suit. They didn't want to be anywhere near what Trunks was preparing to do.
Closing his eyes Trunks had begun to pour Ki into his palms. The technique he was about to use was one well known back home and had been a favorite of the Son family; the Kamehameha. A ball of azure light formed and continued to expand in Trunks palm. The Fairy Tail guild members all looked onwards with bewildered expressions. They could literally feel the ball of compressed energy grow stronger with every passing second.
Incredible! He's conjuring that much power into a single ball of energy? Erza thought to herself as she watched Trunks thrust his hands forward, having finally put enough energy the glowing beam of light. She watched with amazement as the teen thrust his hands forward shouting as he released the energy from his hands.
Kamehameha!
Erza along with her comrades were knocked back as the beam of light impacted the Mafū Heki (Wind Wall). There was a momentary struggle as the wind clashed against Trunks beam. But with a final push Trunks overcame the gale force winds, shattering the wind wall. An ensuing explosion followed as the Mafū Heki finally dispersed causing the Mages to shield their eyes.
Good I didn't manage to overdo it. Anymore power added to that Kamehameha and I might have taken out more than that wall of wind.
As Lucy slowly opened her eyes, her jaw slacked to the floor.
"You destroyed the Mafū Heki (Wind Wall)!"
"Th-That was incredible!" Gray added, breaking his usual calm demeanor.
"You didn't break a sweat either; just what are you?" Natsu questioned as he walked over to where the wind wall had once stood.
Erza stood in silence stunned at what Trunks had done. It wasn't often that someone surprised her but this mysterious boy had managed to do it twice in under twenty four hours. The scarlet haired mage couldn't help but be amazed at the technique he had used.
"What was that attack?" Erza asked as she approached the chuckling teen.
"You didn't hear me call it out? That was the Kamehameha."
"The Kamehameha?" The Titania repeated to herself, the title of the technique sounding utterly ridiculous as she pronounced it. "Turtle Destruction Wave?"
Trunks let out another chuckle; the Kamehameha's name was pretty ridiculous. "I know I was thinking the same thing as you when I first heard the name of it. But as you can see it's a pretty powerful attack. I could have done more damage had I not limited the amount of Ki I poured into it."
Erza's face scrunched at the mention of Ki. The energy Trunks had talked about was proving more and more useful.
"Just how strong is that attack if you…."
Erza's sentence was cut off as Gray jumped in between her and Trunks.
"That was pretty awesome" He said turning to Trunks "But we really need to get a move on; Erigor's still on his way to the guild masters meeting!"
Trunks palmed his head at the Ice Mage's remark. He had almost completely forgotten about that.
"Erigor's planning to attack the guild master's!" Gray's head violently swayed back and forth as Erza shook the poor mage with all her strength. The son of Bulma got woozy just watching the scene.
The Ice make mage spent the next several minutes explaining Eisenwald's plan. At the end of Gray's speech Erza could barely contain her anger.
"They must be stopped at all costs!"
Trunks nodded in agreement with her. The dark guild's plan not only spelt disaster for themselves but for everyone else as well.
"So what do we do now?"
"We go after those Eisenwald bastards of course!" Natsu shouted, fire springing from his fists as he pumped them together excitedly.
"What about him though?" Happy asked as he floated down onto Kageyama's motionless body.
"We'll just have to take him along with us." Erza said as she dragged Kageyama's body managing to hit his head on every crack along the way.
Jeez if she keeps that up she might actually kill him. Trunks thought sweat dropping.

The group of Mages had reached the hover car and had buckled themselves in preparing for the drive ahead. Just as Trunks was about to start the engine, he paused glancing in the backseat. Natsu was gone!
"Where's Natsu?"
Lucy and Gray glanced around as they heard Trunks question. Thinking back on it, neither of them had seen the dragon slayer since Trunks had destroyed the wind wall.
"Happy's gone too!"
Wherever Natsu was Happy was sure to be as well. From his best estimation the Demi-Saiyan guessed the pair had taken off to engage Erigor. Why hadn't they informed the rest of the group about their plan? Trunks was surely faster than a winged cat and could've easily reached Erigor. Sighing Trunks started the engine; they would just have to catch up to them.
-FTSJ-
Natsu and Happy had finally caught up to the man known as Erigor. Happy had flown with all the speed his tiny body was capable of mustering and had thrown himself into exhaustion. He wouldn't be much use to Natsu now, not that he would've been anyways. The only thing the winged feline could do was watch the ensuing battle with hopeful eyes, wishing for his partner's victory.
"Karyū no Hōkō (Fire Dragon's Roar)!"
A flame of molten hot fire spewed from the dragon slayer's mouth as he took aim at Erigor. The wind Mage hovered calmly in the sky as he watched the steaming stream of fire draw near him. Natsu eyeballed the man curiously as he simply stood there raising his scythe as the fireball closed in. With a grin the grim reaper slashed his scythe in a horizontal motion easily dispersing the oncoming attack.
Natsu's teeth grit as he took a step back. He had not anticipated Erigor being this powerful. He had witnessed that attack finish off countless enemies before but the death god destroyed it with the flick of a wrist. Clenching his fists together Natsu strengthened his resolve it didn't matter how strong this jerk was; he was going down!
Locking his fists together, fire erupted from Natsu's knuckles. This attack was sure to do some damage.
"Karyū no Tekken (Fire Dragon's Iron Fist)!"
Crouching down low, the pink haired mage summoned more flames into his fists until they were covered with burning embers. Smirking as he glanced towards his opponent in the sky, the dragon leapt off the ground, flames streaking behind him as he thrust his fists forward. The wind mage was caught off guard by the blazing speed of the boy. Frowning as he weighed his options in a split second decision Erigor crossed his arms in an X pattern, summoning a cloak of wind around himself
"Sutōmu Meiru (Storm Mail)!"
A resounding bang echoed across the train tracks, causing Happy to cover his ears as the two techniques clashed in the air. Pushing with all his might Natsu managed to force the grim reaper back to the ground. Though the attack had literally brought Erigor back to Earth the dragon slayer's flames hadn't managed to crack his shield of wind.
"Tsk tsk better try again!" Erigor mocked taunting the pink haired mage as he struggled to break through his shield to no avail.
Natsu's enraged expression turned into one of shock as he witnessed his flames disperse from the immense winds Erigor's Sutōmu Meiru.
I...I don't understand. How is this possible? Why did my fire go out?
Erigor chuckled loudly as he studied Natsu's flabbergasted expression.
"Just as I suspected, you're completely helpless without your flames."
"No way!" Natsu defiantly retorted as he lunged forward once more only to be pushed back by the growing force of Erigor's winds.
"Unfortunately for you the winds of my Sutōmu Meiru blow outwardly. If you get too close it will smother your flames leaving you powerless against me. Fire can never beat wind!"
Natsu huffed fire from his nostrils at the last comment. The arrogance Erigor displayed was astounding. He would not let himself be embarrassed, especially by a dark mage of all people. He was the son of Igneel; he would not let down his father's legacy. He had to beat Erigor not only for Makarov's sake; but for the entire guild. As Natsu contemplated his next move Erigor discreetly rose back into the air, his Sutōmu Meiru still coating him.
"It's time to blow your flame out for good!"
Uttering that final syllable Erigor's wind flared up once more, knocking the dragon slayer back even further. Natsu attempted to dig his feet into the railroad tracks but was sent flying along with them. The pink haired mage tumbled for several feet until Erigor finally ceased his winds.
"You have no chance of defeating me; just give up! I'll make your death as quick as possible!"
Natsu growled as he struggled to his feet, his flames sparking back to life.
"Never! There's too many people depending on me for me to quit now."
Erigor sighed in frustration; there was no way this kid was going to give up. The only way he would stop fighting was if he was dead. Tightening his fist the dark mage chuckled. He wasn't called the death god for no reason; it was time to remind the world of his capabilities.
"Prepare to die Natsu!"
The fire mage let out a primal growl as he was once again pushed back by the wind. All his resistance seemed futile. No matter how much he dug in his feet or flared his fire he couldn't gain traction against the now typhoon speed winds. If Erigor continued this relentless assault Natsu was sure to lose.
Damn it I've got to do something quick!
The dragon slayers muscles flexed, his rage boiling to its summit as he attempted to maintain his ground against the ferocious winds. Shouting loudly the pink haired mage took a step forward, firmly planting his right foot on the ground. Though his face was concealed behind his Sutōmu Meiru, Erigor's eyebrow arched in surprise as he watched the fire mage take yet another step forward.
Though the traction he was gaining was infinitesimal it still troubled the grim reaper. No one had ever managed with stand his power especially not for this duration of time. The most shocking part of it all was the fact the boy wasn't using any of his magic; it was all willpower. He would never voice these words but he was slightly impressed by Natsu's determination.
Enough of this, play time is over!
"Storm Shred!"
A large purple magic circle formed in front of Erigor as dozens of wind projectiles began ejecting from it.
Natsu's eye sockets grew as large as Happy's head as he observed the projectile rocketing towards him. The wind blades were soaring at him with incredible speeds and he was in too close of a range to even hope to dodge. Back tracking away from the wind blasts wouldn't work either as they would simply follow and chase him down. He only had one course of action.
Igniting his fists and feet with fire, Natsu used them to propel himself into the air. Erigor watched in stunned silence as he saw the dragon slayer soar to higher heights as more flames emitted from his body. Not only had Natsu managed to avoid the deadly oncoming attack, but he'd also managed to find a way to maneuver in the sky.
These Fairy Tail pests are really beginning to tick…
The grim reaper never received the opportunity to complete his thought as Natsu's fist was brought down on him. A shockwave reverberated throughout the area as flame and swirling wind collided. Unfortunately for the dragon slayer Erigor's Sutōmu Meiru once again bested him. The son of Igneel was sent soaring backward as Erigor's winds increased speeds. With a loud thud Natsu crashed on the ground, his bones aching as he struggled to rise.
"Why won't you give up already? You will not defeat me!"
Wiping the small leaking trail of blood from the corner of his mouth Natsu finally rose back up. The dragon slayers eyes burned with flaming embers as he glared into his opponents eyes.
"I already told you my reasons. There are too many people counting on me to win. I've come too far just to lose right here to you. My guild….my family is depending on me! I will not let them down!"
All of Natsu's anger finally exploded into flames as he roared those words. He was tired of being tossed around like a rag doll. He was tired of being unable to hit and damage Erigor. He was tired of his flames dissipating every time he drew close to the dark mage. But most of all he was tired of getting his ass kicked.
"I won't let you succeed!"
The flames surrounding Natsu continued to grow as he let his emotions run wild. His muscles flexed as he grabbed hold onto one of the rail road tracks; burning it into smithereens as he made contact with it. Erigor and Happy were both surprised by the abrupt occurrence.
He's using his emotions as a catalyst for his flames! This is ancient magic; were did this runt learn it from?
Quickly glancing at Natsu and Erigor Happy reached the same conclusion as the dark mage. Natsu was using his emotions, specifically his anger to summon more potent flames. Judging from the flames his partner was emitting Happy realized it wouldn't take Natsu much longer until he reached his summit. He just needed one final push to take him over the edge.
"Hey Natsu!" The magic cat called diverting the dragon slayer's attention. "You stink! Just quit now and let Gray finish the job for you."
The torrent of flames ceased briefly as Natsu turned and faced Happy giving him a stupefied look. Turning his attention back towards a now confused Erigor Natsu screamed in rage.
"What did you say!?"
Happy couldn't help but chuckle at Natsu's response; he knew that was exactly what his best friend needed.
His flames…they're blowing away my Sutōmu Meiru! He's actually sucking the winds towards him. This is impossible!
"I'm going to take you down!"
Natsu's flames finally peaked as they soared high into the heavens. All Erigor could do was tremble in fear as he watch his Sutōmu Meiru disappear having finally been sucked into the dragon slayer's flames.
Spreading his legs as he crouched down low, Natsu retracted all of his fire from the sky. Happy's eyes grew larger and larger as he watched the flames get sucked into a flaming fireball that now surrounded Natsu. Bearing his fangs the dragon slayer gave one final glance towards his opponent as he took off streaking towards him
"No! I'm Erigor; I'm the grim reaper I can't be defeated. My dream must be realized! This isn't supposed to be happening!"
Those were the dark mage's final words before Natsu's inflamed fists greeted his face.
-FTSJ-
As the hover car pulled to a screeching halt Trunks hopped out of the driver's seat and ran over to Natsu.
"Is everything ok? Where's Erigor?"
The pink haired mage simply laughed as he pointed behind Trunks to unconscious heap that had been dubbed the grim reaper.
"Everything's perfect; you guys missed all the fun though."
Normally Erza would have been angered that Natsu had made another brash decision by speeding off to face Erigor, but since the dragon slayer had one she decided to let it slide.
"Good work Natsu you managed to stop Erigor and eliminate the threat."
"I'm surprised you managed to that Erigor guy seemed like a pretty tough opponent." Lucy added in gazing down at the defeated guild master.
"Actually Natsu had a pretty tough time that's how his shirt got burnt off."
"My shirt got burnt off?" Natsu mumbled to himself as he stared down at his chest. His arms waved in panic as he realized he had ruined another article of clothing. "That was my favorite shirt too."
"You might as well get rid of the scarf too; you look stupid wearing one when you're half naked."
Trunks sweat dropped at the irony Gray's comment. He doesn't realize he's half naked either?
"You don't have any room to talk!" Natsu shouted indignantly as he turned towards Lucy. "Hey Lucy give me your clothes."
The celestial wizard's mouth hung open for several seconds stunned that Natsu could even ask such a dumb question. She finally retracted it as she gathered her wits.
"No way get your own clothes Natsu!"
With the slight commotion the Fairy Tail guild member's eyes had wandered off Kageyama who was now sneaking his way out of the hover car.
What kind of vehicle was that? It didn't appear to run off any magic power. It was faster than anything I've ever ridden in before.
Stepping back down on solid grown the shadow mage's eyes grew large in horror at the unconscious heap that was his guild master.
Erigor never loses; this is impossible!
"What happened to that Lullaby thing? Did you manage to find it Natsu?" Trunks asked placing his attention back on the task at hand.
The dragon slayer sighed as he shook his head. "No I searched Erigor's pockets but couldn't find it."
Erza grit her teeth angrily as she scooped down to pick Erigor up. "Wake up right now you bastard. You have to tell us where Lullaby is!" The requip mage then proceeded to violently jerk and shake Erigor's body, inadvertently smacking his head against the ground.
I don't see how that's going to help the situation. Lucy and Trunks thought as they continued to watch their teammate yank Erigor's body back and forth. Realizing her plan wasn't getting her anywhere Erza released the Eisenwald mage, letting him crash back to ground, once again managing to hit his head.
And she did it again.
As the group continued discussing what course of action to take Kageyama's eyes gleamed as he found what they were looking for. Lullaby it's still here! His guild's plan hadn't failed yet. Even though Erigor had been defeated he could still enact revenge for all them. But how would he make an escape? There was no way he could defeat all four of them. Glancing back at the hover car Kageyama discovered his escape plan.
I'm still curious as to what exactly this "Lullaby" thing is. Even though Lucy explained it earlier I'm having trouble believing a flute could be so…..
Trunks was stirred from his thoughts as he heard the revving on an engine, his engine.
What's going on?
"Hahahaha! You shouldn't have taken your eyes off me Fairy Flies! Lullaby will be played!"
Trunks dived to the side as Kageyama drove past him, his shadow magic having latched onto something. It was during that moment as Trunks watched the shadow mage zoom off that he realized Lullaby was gone.
"That jerk! Even after we helped him he still did this to us!" Lucy huffed in frustration, stomping her foot angrily on the ground.
Trunks could relate to her emotions. Not only had his car just been stolen but Lullaby had been taken as well. Running his hair through his lavender locks the Son of Bulma sighed. He could easily track down Kageyama using his Ki sensing abilities, but where would that leave the rest of the group? He also didn't know where this guild masters meeting was either. His best course of action right now would be to wait and make a decision as a group.
"We're going to go after him right?" Trunks asked as he returned his gaze to the Fairy Tail members.
"Of course we are!" Erza quickly spoke up slamming her fist against her breastplate. "We can't let him get away with this."
"But how are we going to get there? Happy's out of magic energy; he can't fly us there."
A dumbstruck expression crossed Lucy's face as she heard Natsu's words. "Did you seriously think Happy was going to be able to fly all four us?"
"Of course I did." The fire mage stated proudly. "You're a strong cat, right buddy?"
"Aye Aye!" Happy chirped as he rose up to give his best friend a high five.
"Your stupidity never ceases to amaze me Natsu." Gray said his arms folded in annoyance.
"What did you say Gray?" Natsu asked, not giving the ice make mage time to respond as he dashed towards him, his arms encased in fire.
"That's enough Natsu." Erza chided as she appeared in front of Natsu. Her arm rose faster than Natsu could blink and before the son of Igneel knew what was happening he was slumped on the ground.
Even at a time like this they still find the time to joke around.
That was what Trunks most appreciated about this new world. Even with everything going on, the people here still managed to maintain a light hearted attitude. It was something he had sincerely missed growing up. Everything back on his home world had been tense and serious, nothing allowed for a moment of play.
"Trunks are you ok?" Lucy asked noticing the sad smile on the teenagers face.
Shaking himself from his stupor the Son of Bulma reposed himself erasing the smile from his face.
"I'm fine Lucy, just doing some thinking."
The celestial mage opened her mouth to say something else but quickly closed it. It was clear there was something troubling Trunks mind but it wasn't her place to pry him.
"So anyways how are we going to get there?" Gray asked as he knelt down finding a seat atop the railroad tracks.
"We'll just have to walk."
"Walk? Are you serious?" Lucy complained, her arms flailing wildly. "We're practically in the middle of nowhere. It's going to take us forever to get to the guild masters meeting."
"Well do you have any other bright suggestions?" The requip mage retorted her words as icy as Gray's magic.
"Actually I do."
Lucy and Erza's gazes switched to Trunks who was now digging in his pocket for something. It's a good thing I took more than one capsule with me. After seconds the Demi-Saiyan retracted his hands pulling out another capsule.
"You have another one of those?"
"Another one of what?" Natsu asked glancing around at his teammates who were hypnotized by the object Trunks held in his palm.
"Oh that's right you weren't there when Trunks pulled out the last one." Happy said hovering over to Natsu's shoulder.
"Can someone just tell me what that thing is?" The dragon slayer huffed frustratedly annoyed that he was being kept out of the loop.
"It's a capsule." Trunks finally said. "This is the same thing that the hover car came out of."
"No way! You mean that tiny little thing has a car inside of it?" Natsu shouted in disbelief. "What kind of magic is it?"
"Actually it's not magic at all and there isn't a car inside this one."
Perplexed looks crossed the Fairy Tail mages faces as they stared at one another.
Smiling Trunks clicked the top of the capsule. "I'll just show you what I mean. You might want to back up though."
Taking the lavender haired teen's suggestion to heart the Fairy Tail mages quickly backed up as he threw the capsule on the ground. A large cloud of smoke appeared briefly obscuring everyone's vision. But as fast as the smoke had appeared a gust of wind blew through dispersing it.
"What is that?"
"It's huge!"
"Is that an airship?"
"I wonder if he'll let me fly it."
Trunks sweat dropped at the last comment. There was no way he'd let Happy anywhere near the wheel.
"It's actually called an airplane, a VTOL Plane to be exact."
It was a large yellow aircraft with two tremendous wings on both sides. The number 576 was listed all over the machine. Opening the hatch Trunks stepped inside pressing several buttons as he started the plane's engine. Noticing his teammates outside still gawking at the impressive piece of machinery Trunks ordered them to get inside.
"You guys will have all the time in the world to admire it later but right now we need to head after Kageyama."
Erza stopped dead in her tracks as her hands ran along the plane's wings.
"Trunks is right we have to catch up to Kageyama. Everyone get inside the plane…now!"
A chill went down the collective spines of Natsu, Gray, Lucy and Happy as they all dashed inside of the ship, buckling themselves in as Erza closed the hatch. Taking one final look in the back seat making sure everyone was there Trunks fired the engine as the ship took off.

Clover Town
"So you still intend to go on with this?"
Kageyama's lips pursed as they hovered above the Lullaby flute in his hand. He couldn't believe the old man in front of him had him doubting his mission. Actually that wasn't the entire truth. He had doubted the purpose of this mission long before he had encountered the Fairy Tail's guild master. What truly was the purpose of his actions? The magic council had stripped Eisenwald of its legal guild status but was well within its means to do so.
But still they deserved punishment. Their actions had forced Eisenwald to partake in dark activities which had led to this very moment. If it hadn't been for their decision they wouldn't have been pushed to such extremes. It was their fault for all of this. It was their fault that Kageyama was now labeled a criminal. Tightening his grip on the flute Kageyama lifted it closer to his quivering lips.
With this song I can change everything.
-FTSJ-
Trunks and co had arrived in time just to see Kageyama about to play the flute. They had arrived minutes earlier, making their way to the clearing as they had passed Fiore's soldiers who were stationed on guard. The Demi-Saiyan had been slightly underwhelmed by the Fairy Tail guild master's appearance. He was expecting someone a bit taller who emitted power. But instead Makarov, as Erza had called him was an extremely short, elderly man. He had black eyes and was growing bald with only the outer rims of his head containing white hair. He also had a thick white mustache.
His outfit also didn't help the situation. He was dressed rather casually in a white shirt with a black Fairy Tail stamp in the middle which covered by an orange hoodie. His attire was completed with matching orange shorts and an orange and blue striped jester hat. Though he didn't meet Trunks expectations the son of Bulma decided not to judge his power based off his appearance. After all Master Roshi was elderly man far surpassing Makarov in age but had been incredibly powerful for a human.
"Should we intervene?" Lucy asked taking a step forward, feeling the tension nearing its climax
"Just sit tight and wait. This is where the good part starts." A man with a Wizard hat and dark shades said.
Lucy gasped in surprised as she recognized who he was. "Master Goldmine, guild master of Quatro Cerberus!"
Another Guild Master huh?
Trunks eyed the man curiously as he leaned against a tree. He was a slim man of about average height, and appeared to be elderly, though not as old as Makarov. His mildly squared face was crossed by several wrinkles, which more specifically were present at his mouth's sides, below his eyes and on his forehead. Despite his age, however, Goldmine's hair was kept in a youthful style, almost reaching down to his shoulders in a straight cut. Covering the man's eyes and hiding them away from sight at all times is a pair of sunglasses.
As Trunks was busy studying the guild master of Quatro Cerberus he failed to realize a strange looking man had crept up behind him.
"Well hi there, who are you? I definitely would've noticed if somebody as cute as you had joined Fairy Tail."
Trunks eyes leapt up as he yelped, his eyes making contact with the oddly dressed stranger. Quickly scuffling away Trunks retreated behind Erza.
"Erza-chan! It's amazing how much you've grown! You look absolutely gorgeous!" The man said as he danced his way over to the requip mage.
Erza shared Trunks ghastly expression as the man proceeded to grab her hands and take her for a twirl.
"Who…..who is he?" Trunks asked in horror, frightened by the man's appearance.
"I can't believe that he's the master of Blue Pegasus." Lucy cringed as she backpedalled away from the scene not wanting to get tangled in their dance.
He's a guild master?
Trunks mouth hung open wide as he watched the elderly, bald, and cross-dressing man drag Natsu and Gray into his dance. His fuchsia hoop necklace bounced with every hop he took. He hovered lightly above the ground, using his small, white wings attached to his back to carry him. Trunks horror grew as the man winked at him, his feet backpedaling over to where the Demi-Saiyan was. There's no way I'm going to be dragged into this. With a quick hop Trunks landed atop the nearest tree which was far away from Master Bob.
"You're no fun." Blue Pegasus's leader pouted as he head-locked Natsu and Gray who eagerly fought to break his grip.
"I surrender!"
Trunks eyes darted from cross dressing man over to Kageyama who was now kneeling on the floor in defeat. The so greatly feared Lullaby flute lay in front of him as he bowed down. The Demi-Saiyan watched with a large smile as the Fairy Tail guild members ran over to their master, surrounding him in congratulations.
It looks like this is all finally over. Trunks thought as he finally descended down from the large tree. But as soon as his feet made contact with the ground the Demi-Saiyan was sprung on by Master Bob.
"It doesn't appear like you're in Fairy Tail; you're missing the stamp. My guild could use someone with a physique like yours." The bald man said as his fingers snaked their way up Trunks arms.
"Um…no thanks" Trunks managed to eeped as he hopped onto another tree. His face flushed by the creepy man's actions. If mother could see me now she'd….
"I've grown tired of you cowardly Wizards and your antics!"
Instantly on alert, Trunks eyes dashed around as a wicked voice filled the forest. It sounded like nothing the capsule corps heir had heard before. The way the four distinct voices melded together to form a frightening vocal range could only be described as demonic.
Staring upward at the sky, Trunks along with all the mages jaws dropped as a gigantic purple magic circle appeared in the air. It's…it's…huge! Trunks watched as it began rapidly rotating above the forest. As the speeds of the rotation increased bolts of purple lightning began raining down from the sky striking whatever stood in their way. If not for his quick reflexes Trunks would have been struck down by the bolt of lightning that destroyed the tree he had previously been perched on.
"I can no longer hold back! I shall come forward to devour you myself!"
An invisible powerful force began weighing down on everyone. The maliciousness behind the force syphoning the oxygen from everyone's lungs. The only people who seemed able to bear the force were the guild masters and Trunks. Giving a parting glance at the lavender haired teen Erza's mind raced back to Onibus station. The power Trunks had briefly emitted back then had been similar to this. It hadn't shared the same vileness but the force and power of the energy had definitely been the same.
Lightning hailed down in a final gigantic explosion as a pair of gigantic wooden legs struck down on the forest. The clawed feet fully entrenched themselves on the Earth as they uprooted several trees. Attached to the gargantuan legs was an equally large body with gaping holes all through its midsection, intersecting into a humongous wide wooden chest. Two mammoth arms protruded from its shoulders, each arm ending in razor sharp claws spikier than Natsu's hair.
Topping off the monster was a twisted head that was stuck to the neck of the beast. Three gigantic, dark glaring eyes gazed down upon everyone. A long tongue wiggled from the creature's mouth, giant droplets of saliva splashing down upon Fiore's knights knocking several of them unconscious. Its long, pointed ears stuck out horizontally from its head, a pair of colossal horns zigzagging from its skull. With an ear deafening laugh the creature raised its head, its full enormity on display as it easily towered above surrounding mountains.
"Th-that thing is huge!"
Lucy's words were an understatement. Trunks had never seen anything so big in his life. He wondered if this monster was the same height as Gohan's Oozaru form. He had never received the chance to witness the transformation with his own eyes but from the stories he'd heard, the ape transformation had been enormous.
"What is that thing? Erigor never said anything about a monster!" Kageyama shouted as beads of sweat rolled down his troubled face. Had his former guild master purposely withheld this information?
"It looks like a demon from the book of Zeref. It appears this monster is Lullaby's true form. This living magic is Zeref's doing." Master Goldmine replied his facial expression hard as he keenly observed the monster.
"Zeref's magic?" Lucy said incredulously. "Zeref's been dead for hundreds of years; how is this possible? Why would his magic suddenly show up here?"
Trunks gazed down as panicked cries filled he forest. People were running for their lives hoping to get as far away from the beast as possible. The once proudly courageous Fiore soldiers trembled, their knees buckling as the monster gazed down upon them.
"Now then which of these delectable souls shall I dine on first?" The demon said with a grin, it's eyes open wide as it leaned down to survey its prey.
Several of Fiore's knights gulped as the creature's breath weighed down upon them.
"Be brave men; don't give up now! This demon isn't anything that we can't handle. Onward with the attack!"
"Yes sir!"
Trunks left brow hovered as he watched the commander of the forces lead the valiant charge. The beast simply snorted in response, deeming the soldiers unworthy of a proper response.
"You doubt my power? I'll prove it to you!"
The oxygen in Trunks lungs once again found itself sparse as the giant demon began inhaling. The knights down below weren't fairing much better as they had all but ceased their charge. The demons cheeks became bloated as he continued syphoning air from the surrounding area. Its cheeks continued to bloat until the creature decided it had sucked up enough air.
With a tremendous exhale that shook the ground Lullaby fired a monstrous luteolous beam of radiant energy. The beam soared for several feet, easily covering the distance between itself and knights. Fortunately for the knights the attack had not been aimed at them. The sizzling beam continued to soar for several feet, stretching far beyond Trunks view into the mountain range. A gigantic explosion ensued as the beam made contact with rock, the beam easily winning.
Everyone was forced to shield their eyes from the searing light that was emitted from the resulting explosion. Slowly cracking his eyes open Trunks jaw hung open gaping like a fish. What…what power! The after effects of the blast were still being felt as tremors surged throughout the forest causing multiple trees to topple over.
As he gazed upon the thoroughly vaporized mountain the commander of the troops called for an immediate retreat.
"Fall back; this monster is far beyond our abilities!"
With the resounding clang of the dropping of weapons the soldiers all turned and fled.
In his younger years Trunks would've called the soldiers cowards for retreating. But now that he was older and much more experienced he recognized the value of knowing your own limitations. It was better to live and fight another day than to die foolishly. If only I had remembered that lesson before I had rushed foolishly to fight the androids.
"I have no need for those pathetic humans! I prefer the taste of a Wizard's soul and I will consume all of yours!"
Trunks was shaken from his thoughts by the booming voice of the demon. The Demi-Saiyan stood tall above the tree he was perched on as he hopped over to where Erza, Natsu and Gray were stationed. Judging from their stances he could tell they were preparing to engage Lullaby.
"Aren't you going to join in Lucy?" Happy questioned as he scooted beside the blonde.
The celestial mage became flustered as she quickly conjured up reasons why she wouldn't be available for this battle. "Normally I would but none of my celestial spirits are available right now. I'd probably just slow them down anyways."
"Good excuse." The blue feline said sarcastically as he shook his head.
A large vein throbbed on the right corner of Lucy's head as she frowned in annoyance "Don't judge me you stupid cat!"
-FTSJ-
Trunks had remained silent as he heard Erza, Gray and Natsu's plan of attack against Lullaby. Based off the encouragement the guild masters were giving it appeared they would not be joining this battle. With a final headshake to her comrades Erza drew her sword as she prepared for takeoff. But before her foot could leave the ground Trunks placed his hand on her shoulder.
The requip mage lowered her sword, turning questioningly as she faced Trunks.
"What's the meaning of this Trunks?"
"I want to fight Lullaby alone."
The sound of a pin dropping could be heard as Natsu, Gray and Erza reeled back in shock.
"Are you serious Trunks? Don't you see how big that thing is?"
"I can't let you hog all the action for yourself!"
Trunks folded his arms as he placed them across his broad chest indicating that he would not be swayed by Gray or Natsu's words. His blue eyes pierced into Erza's as he waited for her response.
The Titania was at a loss for words as a powerful aura began circulating around the mysterious teen. The blue aura continued to grow with every passing second, slowly beginning to hypnotize the red head. Her mind raced back to the events at the train station. Trunks had displayed a an unconceivable amount of power back then, one that had completely shocked her. If she hadn't stopped him when she had he might have destroyed Onibus station. The amount of power the teen had was still a mystery to her but she trusted it enough to let him do this.
"I'm unsure of your true capabilities Trunks." The red head began as she broke gazes with his. "But if your true power is anything near what you displayed back at the train station then we're in good hands."
Trunks couldn't help but smirk at the last comment. She doesn't know the half of it.
"Are you serious Erza?" Gray asked in sheer disbelief.
"This isn't fair I wanted a piece of Lullaby." Natsu pouted as his foot kicked the dirt.
Annoyed with the duo's complaining Erza snuck up behind them and promptly conked them on the head, knocking them to the ground. As she dragged the duo off to rejoin the guild masters Erza gave Trunks one final glance
"Take care of business Trunks I have full faith in your abilities."
Trunks simply nodded knowing there was nothing more that needed to be said. He watched the armor clad girl walk over to the guild masters getting far out of harm's way before he turned and faced the demon before him.
"Wait! Where are they going? I need more souls to feast on!"
"Don't worry about them; I'll be your opponent" Trunks said discarding his jacket crouching low into a battle stance.
Lullaby's eyes rose curiously at the teen's proud declaration "You don't even have any magic power!"
"That's my issue….not yours!"
With those parting words Trunks sprung into the air dashing off towards the mammoth monster. Lullaby didn't even have time to register what was occurring before Trunks Ki powered fist intruded on his face. The fist was minute in comparison to the colossal stature of Zeref's demon, but brought with it a world of pain. Trees were uprooted and displaced as the beast staggered back, unbelievable pain searing through its face.
"My…my face!" The creature screamed in absolute horror as it angrily attempted to swat its attacker away.
Gusts of wind tore through the forest as Trunks ducked and dived underneath each one of the creatures massive swings. The sheer size of the monsters appendages allowed for greater trajectory but also limited the accuracy of his blows. Sidestepping another gargantuan swing The Demi-Saiyan sparked his aura. He didn't have to hold back against this demon like he did against Eisenwald. This creature was not human.
Trunks albicant aura streaked behind him as he once again charged at the demon. This time Lullaby was prepared though. Before Trunks could even get within radius of Lullaby's face he was struck by a claw that sent him soaring as far back as the demon's previous energy blast.
"Oh no Trunks!"
Lucy's shout of concern brought the Demi-Saiyan to a halt. Even with the size of the beast's claw it had still managed to catch him off guard. Gohan would've had a field day if he were here to witness it. Dusting himself off Trunks ignited his Ki once more as he dashed off towards the smirking beast.
Lullaby raised its claw to once again greet the Halfling but was thoroughly surprised as the boy vanished into thin air. A serious of explosions abruptly arose as Trunks peppered the demon with multiple fists faster than anyone, save the guild masters could see. At the end of his barrage Trunks materialized in front of the beast grinning as he summoned a medium sized Ki beam into existence.
"What are you grinning at!?"
The lavender haired teen never responded, instead choosing to toss the beam at the fuming demon.
"You think that little ball is going to….!"
Time itself seemed to slow down as the ball drew closer and closer to the monster. Right before the imminent collision a scream was heard warning everyone to take cover.
"Get down everyone!"
Makarov leapt over pulling Natsu down as the beam finally hit Lullaby. The shockwaves that followed the explosion were immense, sending several mages flying backwards and even forcing Trunks to slightly cover his face. As the smoke finally cleared Makarov's mouth dangled to the floor at the destruction that the beam had caused.
He wiped out a third of the forest! I know Fairy Tail has a habit of causing destruction wherever they go but c'mon, this is unreal.
"He caused that much destruction with a single attack?" Lucy nearly feinted as she observed the place where once lush trees had stood.
"I had a feeling Trunks was strong but….this is ridiculous!" Gray added dispersing the shield of ice he had formed to protect himself from the shockwave.
"Is he in your guild Makarov?" Master Bob asked floating over to his former guild member.
Makarov's brow furrowed. "No he's not. In fact I don't even know who he is."
"Trunks….his name is Trunks Master Makarov." Erza stated as she rose to her feet still unable to believe the power he had produced in one single attack.
"My….my arm! What did you do to me?"
Lullaby's horrified cries filled the forest as it agonized over the loss of its arm. Trunks was impressed the demon had managed to only take that amount of damage. Judging from his now vaporized appendage, the Demi-Saiyan concluded the monster had used his left arm to try and block his attack. It had obviously failed. As much as he was enjoying the battle Trunks was a little concerned at the destruction he was causing. The results of his attack had wiped out what appeared to be a third of the forest.
"You'll pay for that!"
Trunks was snapped back to the battle as Lullaby took another swipe at the Demi-Saiyan. He was caught off guard but still managed to raise his arms in an x formation to block it. The son of Bulma was knocked back but still maintained his footing in the sky.
"He blocked that?"
"Just how strong is this kid?"
"He should join Blue Pegasus once this battle is over."
Trunks blanched at the last comment from Master Bob, there was no way he'd ever join a guild with that weirdo as its leader. Settling his gaze back on his opponent Trunks lowered his guard as he phased out of sight. Lullaby was left angrily shouting as its eyes darted from corner to corner hoping to find its prey.
"Come out and fight like a man!"
"You're one to talk" Trunks said as he materialized again. "You're not even human."
"You know what I mean fool!"
Angrily lunging forward the demon took another swipe at Trunks. This time the Demi-Saiyan remained still, not even attempting to put up a guard.
"What are you doing Trunks? He'll kill you if you just stand there!" Erza cried out
The Titania's words were for naught as Lullaby's slash passed right through Trunks.
"What's going on?"
Unbeknownst to Lullaby his attack had passed right through a Zanzōken (Afterimage). Trunks appeared behind the demon chuckling as the monster flailed its arms angrily at the still image of Trunks.
"Where did you go?"
"Check behind you."
As Zeref's monster turned around he was met with a sharp knee to the chin that sent the beast tumbling backwards. Quickly capitalizing on the strike Trunks followed up with a roundhouse kick that sent the creature soaring in enraged screams. Before the monster even had time to compose himself Trunks was on him again. A combination of successive punches and kicks sent the demon rocketing high into the sky, shocking everyone including Lullaby itself.
"He's….he's not even using magic! This is all physical strength." Master Goldmine said stunning the surrounded mages.
"Not even Natsu's that strong." Happy said causing the dragon slayer to fume.
"Hey! Take that back. I could've done the same thing to Lullaby if Erza would've let me fight."
"You wouldn't have put a dent in Lullaby Natsu." Gray quipped, his clothes somehow having gone missing.
"I would've done a lot more than you!" Natsu yelled as his fists burst into flames, his feet running over to punch the ice mage.
"Quiet you two!" Erza's firm hands knocked both wizards out before they could even meet.
Let's see how Trunks wraps this up
-FTSJ-
Lullaby's body had crashed into the ground resulting in what could be described as a small earthquake. The land trembled once more as the demon rose to confront it's attacker. For the first time in its existence Lullaby was afraid. It was a strange, tense feeling, one that the monster definitely did not enjoy. His arm had been torn off and destroyed; he was getting thoroughly annihilated. If this continued he would lose.
After all the souls it had eaten, all the people it had killed; it was destined to lose here and now? No! It wouldn't stand for such embarrassment. If he was going to be defeated here he would take the boy along with him. Struggling to its feet Lullaby knew exactly what it had to do. He would end this battle here and now.
Trunks eyes perked up as the monster raised its head, a massive magic sealing forming above it.
"You will die here and now! I'll destroy everything and everyone before I am defeated!"
A bead of sweat trickled down Trunks face as he literally watched the life get sucked out of the surrounding environment. Trees withered to their death as Lullaby began syphoning their life force into his mouth. This magic seal was the largest Lullaby had ever produced, as well as the largest that Trunks had ever seen. The results would be disastrous if Lullaby was allowed to complete this attack.
Soaring higher into the sky Trunks closed his eyes. This was it; this was the moment that would determine everything. He knew what he had to do. Ascending to an ideal position in the sky, Trunks lifted his arms. The title of this technique was quite fitting. Streams of Ki began pouring into the ball forming above Trunks head. Down below the mages watched with "oohs" and awe's" as the azure ball of energy grew to its full length.
"This is the end of the line for you Lullaby."
The demon paused it's syphoning of energy to glance up, eyes bulging at the humongous ball of energy that floated above the teen's head.
With one final frantic inhale Lullaby attempted to hurry up its attack, but it was far too late as Trunks blast was already headed towards him.
"Finisshu Basutā (Finish Buster)!"
With that final shout everything was overtaken by azure light.
