Hello! Thank you for all of the kind reviews!
This is a short one that happens right after the negotiations with the Legarans are finished in the episode "Sarek". This episode is one of my top 10 favorite episodes!
I hope you like it! :)
Sarek
Sarek strolled through the Sickbay doors and went up to Beverly. "Dr. Crusher I presume?"
Beverly, who had been expecting him, turned and smiled, "Yes, Ambassador, please sit down. This should take a moment."
The Ambassador did as he was told as Beverly got to work checking him for any levels of stress from the bonding on her tricorder. The silence between them was comfortable with the gentle hum of the engines underneath their feet and the soft clicks and beeps from the various medical instruments playing in the background. Then, without notice, Sarek gently placed a hand on her shoulder. "You were there when the Captain and I bonded?" She looked up from her tricorder and nodded. "Was he in much pain?"
Looking back down at her tricorder, Beverly quietly said, "He handled the bonding as well as could be."
He took his hand off of her shoulder and placed it over her tricorder. The look in his eyes were patient and kind – a deep understanding of what he knew had happened to the Captain during their bonding and knowing her fierce devotion to never divulge in the Captain's weaknesses.
Closing her eyes, she bit the side of her mouth at the memory of those horrible screams. "It was as if he would never be happy again." Opening her eyes, she held back her tears. "It was hard to see him in so much agony." Taking her hands out from his grip, she then continued to scan him. Taking a deep breath to control her emotions, she smiled at the ambassador, "But like I said, he handled it as well as could be."
Cocking his head to the side, Sarek asked, "You are Beverly?" Seeing her nod silently, he serenely smiled. "You give the Captain great strength. There were many difficult times during the negotiations that I saw your face and for some reason it touched me and calmed me greatly. I am grateful you stayed with him as he experienced all of his emotions."
She nodded and then looked back down at the results on her tricorder. "There are no lingering effects from the bonding. You are healthy enough to make the journey back to Vulcan, Ambassador."
He stood up from the biobed and placed his hand back on her shoulder. He opened his mouth to say something but then changed his mind and whispered to himself, "It would be illogical to tell you." He shook his head and evenly said, "Thank you, Doctor." He began to walk away.
Beverly shook her head. "Pardon me, Ambassador?" Their earlier conversation replayed in her mind. "To tell me what? Why is it illogical?"
He stopped but didn't turn around. "His feelings towards you, my dear woman. It is illogical to tell you since you share the same feelings as him." He waited a moment to see if she would protest. When she didn't, he resumed his heading back to his quarters.
Next chapter should be coming up soon! Please review!
