For Caritobear :))

"If I fell in love with you," he whispered the melody as the guitarist played the cords, she felt herself blush as others looked on. Her head burying itself in his chest as they continued to dance, "Would you promise to be true," he sang so quietly only she could hear him. His mouth tickled her ear as he sang to her his voice was not the best but the effort made her smile.

"I love this song," she mumbled into his ear as the last cord was struck meaning her time dancing with him was through. Klaus didn't pull away then however confusing her, "I'm glad you came." He said sniffing the side of her face figuring out just where that scent had come from. "I burned it a little," she confessed sheepishly.

"On what or over what if I can ask," he said amusement dancing in his eyes though he never outright laughed which she was thankful for. "I was thinking about you and I forgot," she admitted to him as people began to join them on the floor the music continuing in the background. Klaus smiled as he pulled her away only to spin her back into his arms. "It only burned a bit."

"That machine should still be tossed away for its crimes," he said seriously before she broke out into laughter along with him. "I'm serious. You should have just disconnected it before you cut the cord off." He described as they swayed, "Then you should take the cool metal stick and chuck it out of the window." He saw her trying to keep from laughing her face reddening from the effort.

"I'll do it for you if you like," he offered as he stopped dancing with her making her stop along with him taking a breath. "You'd come home with me?" she asked smiling at him glad she had worn heels so she was almost as tall as him. "I'd go just about anywhere with you." He made clear wrapping his arms back around her as she did the same.

"Stop doing that," Caroline said reprimanding him as she looked away from him pretending to focus on one of his works on her right. She felt Klaus' hand take her chin making her face him, she still refused to look in his eyes focusing instead on his collar. "What do mean by that?" he asked his eyes imploring her eyes to meet his.

"That thing you do," she said gathering her courage to look up at him, "Where you talk to me with words." Klaus looked at her amused making her want to stop talking, "Continue your thought," he encouraged merriment dancing in his eyes. "But you look at me with feelings." Caroline said shifting on her feet as he stood stalk still, "A girl could get used to that you know."

"Well that's exactly my intention," he admitted to her smiling the whole way as he took her hands and wrapped them back over his neck before placing his hands back at her waist and back. She chuckled her hand coming to stroke his cheek, "I like being here with you," she sighed dropping her head to his chest embarrassed.

"Don't get shy on me now," he said as she chortled, "There's my brave girl," he sighed as she looked at him directly her eyes making him feel the best he could ever feel. "That's the girl that kissed these lips the first night we met." He grinned as her face reddened further, "Tell me do your lips mine like mine miss yours?" he inquired leaning in closer.

"It's late," she sighed feeling dizzy and warm the closer they got forgetting they were in a crowded room not at his place on that old lumpy couch. Not at her place sitting six feet apart, "You should walk me home." Caroline told him her eyes beseeching him to. He felt a smile grace his lips as he pulled away from her taking her hand.

"You didn't answer my question," he said playfully annoyed causing her to mimic his face as he lead her away from the so called dance floor. "Danny take that painting off of the wall, it belongs to the lady." Klaus said pointing to their portrait as he spoke the younger man nodded before he set to work on Klaus' command.

"You don't have to do that," Caroline said her other hand touching his arm applying slight pressure to grab his attention. He turned his face to her, "Of course I do," he sounded as if he was about to reason with her, "That painting was never meant to be sold. It was just a reminder that you really existed but you're here now. I don't need it."

"You're doing it again." She whined shaking her head she felt his lips at her cheek before he whispered, "I already told you, get used to it." He let go of her hand right then, "I'll be right back I just have to inform my brother that I'll be leaving for the night." Caroline fiddled with her bangs brushing them back with her fingers feeling a familiar hand at her side.

Klaus smiled at their hands before he looked up at her, "Ready to go." he asked as she looked up at him her grin matched his as she nodded. "I won't keep you waiting then," he murmured as they walked to the front door ignoring the lingering stares on them. He held the door open for her as she stepped out in front of him excited for some time alone with him as Klaus walked her home.

Turning the corner she pulled him closer the night air drawing goose bumps from her skin or at least that is what she would say if he asked. Klaus held open the door for her while she searched for her keys continuing the flow of their conversation. "So first thing you need to know about me," she said as she lead the way to her apartment her hand still in his.

She looked directly at him as they reached her door, "I take things personally!" she warned him. "I get way too emotional and," Klaus interrupted her then making her lean her back against the door as he spoke, "And I like you anyway." he said. She stopped talking smiling instead as she repeated his words in her head "And you like me anyway." She turned around unlocking the door to let them both in quickly.

"Can I offer you a drink," she asked as she shrugged out of her shoes tossing them by the door Klaus followed her removing his suit jacket and placing it over his arm. "You could but I'd decline," he answered smartly making her roll her eyes at him playfully. He dropped his jacket on a chair by the kitchen as he trailed after her stopping by the stove to watch her bend over inside of the refrigerator.

She grabbed a water bottle from inside, "Are you sure?" she said again uncapping the bottle and taking a sip, "It's really good." She leaned her hip against the counter top a smile unwilling to leave her face as she observed him from afar. Klaus unbuttoned and rolled up one of his sleeves a smirk on his face all the while as he did the same with the other.

"All I want is the taste of your lips against mine," he said in a matter of fact tone, "And I'm willing to wait as long as it takes to get there." His hands went to his belt loops as she regarded him wistfully; her eyes glazed over in want as she bit the tip of her bottle. Though he said his words in confidence the way she observed him made him feel flustered.

"You want to kiss me?" she asked setting aside the bottle of water on the counter top before she sauntered over to him stopping only when she was directly in front of him. Her hands came up tugging at his tie, "Is that all you want?" she teased tugging his tie even more until he leaned closer to her face, "One kiss or everything. Why not take all of me?"

"I'll take option two." He uttered softly his breath tickling her face loving how her smile grew right before he lightly brushed his lips over hers, "All of you." He murmured, "I want you at ten o'clock at night," he nipped at her lip, "I want you at ten in the morning," she sighed her hands pulling at his collar making him smile. "I want to be the only one to put my hands on you."

"Then put your hands on me," she said running her hands down his to his stomach before latching on to his hands and wrapping them around her waist, "Hold on to me," she whispered as her hands came back up to his neck bringing him closer from the pressure until he kissed her. She moaned at the feeling allowing him to deepen the kiss.

Caroline woke up fully dressed on her couch yet again lying next to the man of her reoccurring dreams his body snugly pressed up against hers. Not that she was complaining. Blood rushed to her cheeks as she remembered how passionately they had kissed last night. How incredibly skilled his lips were working against her own.

His brazen moves against the fabric of her dress had her panting for air before anything had even happened. She squeezed her eyes shut at the memory trying to push it from her mind to keep from feeling so shy around him. They hadn't gone passed making out but the stuff they tried was definitely beyond the kissing of their first night.

Caroline had to remind herself to breathe as she looked down over him he really was bewitching, entrancing, "If you keep looking at me like that I'm going to have to kiss you longer than I did last night just to teach you a lesson." Klaus gruffly said opening one eye to see her. She giggled leaning her head closer to his lips placing a chaste kiss upon them.

"You can't you have to get to the airport and I have to get ready to meet your sister whom happens to be my new roommate if you recall," she said as she straddled his hips making his other eye open. Klaus placed his hands on the couch scooting up so he could sit up straight. "Ah yes more chances than ever to come see you enchanting face."

"For now I'd like to shut my eyes," he said leaning closer to her his arms at her sides, "I have a good two hours before I have to head out. He reminded her as he pulled her near, "You can't go back to sleep," she told him making him grin a devilish look in his eyes. "I wasn't planning on sleeping." He muffled her response which sounded a lot like his name with his own mouth covering hers.

"Hi I'm Rebekah," a blonde appeared at Caroline's door a fishtail braid from a side of her parted hair and a rather large box on her hip as she strode right in. Caroline was in the kitchen making her way to the entrance of the apartment as she spoke. She caught sight of the british bombshell shocked to find her so beautiful, she really was Klaus' little sister, dimples and all.

"Uh hi, sorry about the mess, your brother didn't really give me time to clean up," she said wanting to laugh at the odd look the girl was giving her. "I mean with breakfast and you know never mind. Come right in." she said ushering the blonde girl inside and taking the box from her hands placing it on the floor.

"I'm Caroline, I'm sorry we didn't really get to meet last night I got wrapped up in," Rebekah held her hand up interrupting, "Spare me the innuendos," she said walking back outside, "Are you helping me or not?" she bellowed from down the hall leaving Caroline to scurry after her. "Hey, wait up!" she called ahead of her.

"I didn't mean for it to sound like that honest. Your brother and I didn't do anything," she said in a loud voice jogging to catch up to Rebekah. "Well we kissed but who doesn't right?" she squished her face in discomfort noting Rebekah's frown. "Can we just start over, I'm Caroline," she said sticking out for the girl to take. "And I'd love to help you move into our place."

Rebekah sighed, "Fine, I'm Rebekah." The girl smiled in return the sun reflecting in her blonde hair as she shook her hand. "Help me unload would you?" she said moving to the boot of her car popping it open with her keys. "This is the first half." She said gesturing to the ten duffel bags inside that made Caroline's eyes widen.

"The rest should be on its way in the van," Rebekah informed her lifting three bags up as if they weighed nothing. "Come along," she said leading them as soon as Caroline got two bags and pulled the straps over her shoulders. They certainly were heavy making her want to race upstairs to drop them and have it all over with.

"So you're the girl who's enamored my favorite brother?" she said as she dropped her bags in the middle of the entryway. "You're shorter than I thought you'd be," she said thoughtfully looking Caroline over subconsciously making her stand up straighter. "Overall not bad." She added quietly, "Well I can't wait until you show me to my room."

Caroline could feel herself beginning to perspire, "Right this way," she said unclear as to how this girl had so much energy. Well she probably didn't spend half the night making out with a really hot guy but still, she thought as she trekked over to Stefan's old room. "It's a work in progress but I hear so are you." She said as she opened the door for Rebekah to enter.

"I am perfectly fine thank you," she huffed entering the room, "Nik just has a big mouth," she grimaced as Caroline beamed, "I know a thing or two about that," Caroline teased the other blonde. "My brother is not a sex object." She said sternly before bursting into laughter Caroline following suit straight after. "I don't really know why I am laughing." Rebekah panted.

"How about we go get the rest of you bags and order pizza while we wait for the van to come with the rest of your stuff." She offered hoping to start anew with not only her new roommate but with Klaus' sister. "I'm sure it would mean a lot to your brother if we tried this," she baited making Rebekah close her eyes. "Fine," the girl said slumping her shoulders muttering something about playing the brother card.

"Great, I'll get the beer," she announced heading to the door, "Wine," Rebekah said but Caroline shook her head, "No! That's crying juice." She said to the girl as she left the room moving to the kitchen she smiled hoping this was the beginning of a new friendship. Hopefully she wasn't being overzealous but she was excited, "Tell me you don't drink light beer." She commented as she heard footsteps.

"No," Rebekah said, "I don't." Caroline turned around with two beers in each hand placing them on the counter top. "Here," she gave one to Rebekah twisting the top off and swallowing a big gulp from her own bottle. "Let me get the pizza guy on the phone," she said pulling her phone from her back pocket. "Pepperoni?" she asked seeing the girl nod in agreement.

Klaus found his seat on the plane rolling his eyes at his younger brother who seemed to already be asleep in the wrong chair. I dropped his carry-on bag on his lap waking him with a grunt Klaus grinned at the angry look Kol was giving him. "Oh good," he smirked, "You're awake. Now get out of my chair." He demanded.

"I see someone didn't let you drop your tea in their harbor last night," Kol snipped moving over one chair. Klaus lost his smile giving Kol a hard look, "Keeping my mouth shut," his brother muttered pulling out his earphones planning to ignore the penetrating glare his older brother was giving him. "For the record though she looked like a tasty thing."

Klaus pushed his brother's head into the wall of the plane hitting the window, "Excuse me sir do we have a problem," a redheaded flight attendant said standing above them. "Not at all Darling," Kol murmured from against the window at least until Klaus loosened his hold on him, "Just a little brotherly love." He added shaking off his clothes while Klaus smiled at her.

She seemed dissatisfied but left them alone anyways having bigger problems to deal with than two Mikaelson brothers. "I wish you wouldn't book us in business class Niklaus," Elijah's voice rang through the air annoyed already as he combated his way down the narrow aisle. "For goodness' sake I'm not an animal." He almost whined as he sat down with his briefcase on his lap straightening out his dark tie.

"Elijah you know as well as I do this is a business only flight," Klaus replied not bothering to look him in the eye as he began pulling his sketch pad from his bag and placing it on his lap. "We could have gotten another flight," his brother reasoned disdain evident in his voice which Klaus effortlessly ignored. "We needed to get there right away and I for one was not going to wait another day." He said plainly.

"Your drink," the redhead appeared again offering Elijah his favorite brown beverage shutting him up for a bit so Klaus could order a glass of water. "Thank you Love," he said as she poured him a glass and handed it to him. "And your brother," she asked gesturing to Kol, "He's fine." Klaus waved her away before Elijah could get a refill.

He took a sip just as the seat belt sign lit up the plane rules coming up over the intercom saying pleasantries when it was finally over. Klaus took out his phone reminding himself to turn it off when the plane jerked forward tossing it into his glass of water in front of him. "You know if we had first class, that would not have happened." Elijah muttered next to him before he put his movie phones on.

Klaus stuck his hand in the glass pulling out his drenched phone, correction his only connection to Caroline the week he would be gone. Thinking fast he nudged Kol, "Do you have Caroline's number?" he asked pulling the earphones from his ears hard. "Ow," Kol cried, "No of course not! What sane woman would give me her number? It's not like I'm going to call them." He murmured.

Klaus silently cursed himself half grateful Caroline had never gave him his number, "Give me your phone!" he demanded watching Kol squirm to find it. "I left it in my luggage." He announced with a smile remembering he had left it behind in his hurry to pack. "Ask Elijah," he suggested smugly. Klaus huffed turning from one brother to another wondering how he got stuck in the middle of them both.

"Elijah, give me your phone I need to call Rebekah," he mumbled as the flight attendant passed warning about the dangers of having you phone on during a flight. "Here," Elijah said shortly giving him his phone Klaus waited impatiently for the phone to turn back on as the plane began to shake. "Leave it off," Elijah hissed in his big brother tone tugging on his phone to take it back. "Noo!" Klaus nearly exclaimed.

"I don't remember Hellboy 2 being a comedy," Caroline whined from the couch where she was laying with her feet on the back and her hair nearly touching the ground. "Why is he in the water he's supposed to be in love with Daphne." She felt close to tears the wine impacting her state of mind. She sat up pulling her feet down and tucking them under her as she picked up the bottle from the floor.

She stared intensely at the bottle, "Okay what's in this stuff," she said trying to read the label off of the bottle Rebekah had in one of the boxes the van had come with. "It's more than you make in a year," Rebekah said from the ground lying on her back behind the couch also in an alcoholic state still refusing to watch the movie.

"That's a whole lot of truth," Caroline grumpily slurred taking a sip directly from the bottle before she climbed over to give Rebekah some. She saw the blonde contemplating sleep by the pizza box that had gone missing a while ago her stomach grumbling in protest. "Hey does Nik really like me," she asked meekly looking over the couch.

"Yes," Rebekah sighed siting up as well almost squashing the cardboard box in the process with her hand, "You're all he sketches and paints." She threw her hands up dramatically before she puffed, "It would be quite annoying actually if it wasn't so damn bloody romantic." She admitted before she finished the bottle. "You're his muse."

"Then why hasn't he called?" Caroline mumbled into the fabric of the couch feeling pretty sleepy with the combination of liquors currently dueling it out in her liver. Klaus hadn't been far from her mind all day something that had excited her at first but with the radio silence she was beginning to feel a bit unnerved at how long it had been since she heard his voice.

She climbed over the couch to sit next to Rebekah who was slumped with her back to the couch Caroline sat down and took the pizza box from the floor. She opened it and found one last slice inside her mood lifting at the smell of pepperoni, "Everything tastes better after midnight," she said taking a big bite from the slice.

"I hope you weren't talking about my brother," Rebekah mumbled as she placed her head on Caroline's shoulder falling asleep. Caroline wanted to laugh as she remembered the two nights she stayed up past midnight tasting Klaus' incredible lips always with just a hint of alcohol when really they were more drunk on each other. "Who's Daphne?" Rebekah slurred in her sleep.

Four Days Later

Rebekah walks into their living room seeing Caroline watching the door moping, Klaus was supposed to be here by now. "You know he'll come by eventually," she tried knowing Klaus was actually due back any minute now wanting to surprise Caroline after getting a new phone. It didn't seem enough that he had been sending her little treats the entire time he was away.

She moved to sit next to the blonde whom was quickly becoming a good friend, "Or you could call him," she tried taking the pillow from out of her arms and tossing it away so Caroline would sit up and look at her. "He never calls me first and I'm his sister." Rebekah tried again trying to find a bit out the plucky girl that had annoyed her at first.

"What if he just doesn't want to see me and that's why he hasn't called," Caroline carried on as if Rebekah hadn't spoken. She stood up grinning as she head steps outside of the door fixing the skirt of her dress as she did slipping on her shoes. "Oh," she sighed as the sounds of footsteps faded she walked towards the door pressing her ear against it.

Klaus approached her door dropping his bag on the floor the only thing he had carried with him through airport security silently seething at being randomly selected for a search. His nose was still filled with the scent of latex as he lifted his hand to knock on the door and became nervous. He was never nervous but something about her made him tense.

He frowned stepping away from the door and moving down the hall taking slow deliberate steps as he thought about how to approach this situation. Caroline was a woman who actually liked him, who wanted to see where their connection could take them and he was outside of her doorstep absolutely terrified of what that meant.

He took a breath not hearing the metal of a door turning to unlock as he was trapped in his own mind thinking about how he could possibly begin a relationship with someone. She would be the first that was a given but he also knew she was the only one he could try for, having come to this realization he turned again this time to knock at her door and make her love him.

Rebekah honestly felt bad for her, of course knew the reason behind her brother's disappearance and why he had yet to call this morning like he promised. His stupid phone had to be replaced but he couldn't get a new one until they came back because of some weird phone agency loophole on his insurance.

He had since then decided against using her phone to talk to Caroline, a stupid decision really but what was she going to do now. Call Klaus herself and trick him into talking to Caroline and somehow talk her into talking to him with her phone. Sometimes it was so hard just being her, she thought as she reached for her phone on the couch next to her.

Caroline chose that moment to turn around, "Okay fine," she huffed, "But I have my dignity if he's not back in a week I'm outta here." She almost shouts unlocking the front door planning on going for a walk when she saw him pacing the hallway practically making a hole in the floor muttering to himself about what he should say to her.

A smile grows on her face at the sight of him forgetting that moments ago she would have danced on his desiccated corpse. In that moment Klaus turns to step another time his head looking up at the exact moment meeting her eyes. Klaus had the decency to look surprised, "Caroline, I'm sorry I didn't call," he said quickly his words jumbling together.

Caroline schooled her face into a cool smile as he moved towards her feeling her feet move back into the apartment. She closed the door in his face slamming her back into it her hands locking the handle in panic, "What are you doing he's out there," Rebekah asked Caroline standing up from the couch trying to reason with the blonde who seemed to have lost all reason.

"I panicked," she admitted lifting and dropping her shoulders as she looked at his sister blowing the hair that had become unruly out of her face. She head knocking wincing at the fact that she knew who was outside. "So," Rebekah said, "Let him in. You've wanted to see him since he left and now you've locked him out of your home. Again." She alleged exasperatedly reminding Caroline of their second encounter.

She panted her heart going faster than a hummingbird as her hands went to the door knob once again he knocked again making her hand tremble. "I'm just going to wait out here Caroline," he told her through the door in a weary tone knocking again more softly than before. "However long it takes." Klaus affirmed more strongly leaving Caroline out of options.

She opened the door unamused at Rebekah being no help before she turned back around slowly spinning on her heel to see him. Klaus' eyes seemed to brighten more than ever as he looked at her, "Will you ignore me forever," he asked sucking his bottom lip into his mouth as he pressed his hands to her door frame.

Caroline felt goose bumps at the memory of him just like this at her door only a few days before, before he had kissed her like there was no tomorrow. Before he had said he wanted her, all of her and subsequently started to fall in love with him. In the name of that growing feeling she smiled stepping closer to lean on the door frame, "We'll see," she teased.

Klaus returned her smile taking another step closer into the door frame his hands unmoving as he leaned his head closer to hers. He felt a wave of intensity between them as their eyes locked, "Will you ignore me tomorrow night at Valentino's," he ventured hopefully hearing his sister wander off leaving them alone. "Eight o clock."

Caroline crossed her arms her whole body leaning into him without actually touching before she tilted her head back in thought, "Tomorrow doesn't look good," she replied shaking her head. His smile grew making her breath catch she stuttered as she spoke, "Does Friday night work for you?" he asked catching her looking up instead of at him.

Klaus moved his hands from the door frame then within one swift movement he had his left hand sliding up her back and his right cupping her face so she would look at him. "I'm sure I'll make do," she mumbled her lips brushing against his lips feeling a tingle run straight through him. His nose nestled against hers as he touched their foreheads together looking deeply into her eyes.

He took a small breath taking in her exhale, "Then I'll show you the way," he held before he kissed her the way he longed to kiss her for days. Like he was starved and a slave to her lips or anything she could offer him. He knew anything she wanted she could take he would offer to her. His hands to create better works of art filled with passion and light, his eyes to see her beauty the he knew he always would, his legs so she may never tire again.

He would offer her the world and call her his Queen if she kept moving her lips like that against his making his heart stop with every move of her lips and every click of their teeth together. He would do this to keep her hold on him as tight as it was now on his shoulder and at his waist. He would.
