Caroline turned over on her stomach blocking out the sun as she tried to get back to bed happy she didn't have to go into work today because her work building had been having problems. She had been informed through email last night interrupting her dinner with Klaus and Rebekah. A dinner that had been filled with happy moments and his hand holing hers under the table so Rebekah wouldn't comment even though she obviously knew every time he lifted their hands to kiss the back of hers.
She pulled her bed sheet over her head wrapping herself up into a burrito taking a breath before she shut her eyes again. She remembered the feeling of her hand in his as they say on his lap throughout their meal setting her nerves aflame especially when she caught Klaus staring at her, Caroline's cheeks warmed at the memory of his eyes.
It was that moment the blonde was unwillingly pulled from her dreamy state when she undoubtedly heard her door open and small feet coming towards her made her think twice about being happy for having a new roommate. She was already acting like Stefan sneaking into her room just to annoy her. She felt the girl sit herself on the side of her bed her hand coming to the top of her sheet pulling it down.
She held her eyes shut as the color of her lids changed to a bright orange, "Do you want to marry my brother?" she asked as Caroline turned her head to look at her stunned at how forward the girl was being after just a few days of knowing each other. Caroline lie on her front still mouth agape as the girl waited for her response clearly not joking or backing down. She lifted herself up in an effort to calm down her body's initial reaction then flipped back over her back leaning against the wall as she patted her bed for Rebekah to come closer.
She flipped her hair back self-consciously looking at the well-groomed Mikaelson next to her, "I don't know," she said rubbing her eyes, "Good Morning by the way," she said her stomach already craving coffee with the morning shining into her room. "Nik is confusing, but in a good way. He lets me have my space and he doesn't judge me." She began explaining as the girl sat next to her comfortably. "From the moment I talked to him I just knew. I knew I had to know him at least for a while."
"Then why did you leave," Rebekah inquired letting the blonde know she knew their back story as she began turning her head to Caroline her hair falling from her shoulder as she adjusted herself. "I left because I wanted more from him than one night. I was scared that he didn't so I ran. I ran and when I got home I hated myself." She said her mind wandering to how anxious she was the whole day. Every man she ran into reminded her of him paranoia followed her.
"I kept telling myself he wouldn't care," she answered, "That he didn't and that we were both better off," she said knowing how awful that sounded now with everything that had happened. "But he stayed with me," she smiled as Rebekah nudged her. "After that night it was one thing after another, Kol bugged me any chance he got. Stefan my oldest friend in the world decided to move out and nothing was going right."
"And then Nik showed up again from out of nowhere seemingly," the girl offered with an entertained look that made Caroline blush as she nodded, "Ha, yes well at least something good happened after I got kicked out of my old apartment." She revealed knowing Caroline still had no idea why she had saved her from having to leave the city to go home. "You know you saved his gallery opening right?" the girl entreated with an arched brow.
"I don't think I have the power to do that," Caroline said in a small voice shrugging of his sister's comment. "You did, the man was completely uninspired and then from night to day he has ten new pieces. The numbers only grew from there." Rebekah insisted. "Lights and darks, all sorts of yellows and none of us could figure out why until Kol started talking." Caroline bent her legs and buried her head in between her knees.
"Kol is a moron," she muttered dryly her voice muffled into her sheets as they hear a knock at the door, her eyebrows creased, "Are you expecting anyone," she asked lifting her head to look at Rebekah. The blonde in return shook her head in confusion but hastily removed herself from the big bed anyway. "I'll check," she said as she strode over to Caroline's door stepping out as Caroline got out of bed.
She stood with a quick stretch before she began to finger comb her hair as she heard her front door open undeterred by her visitor until she heard his voice. Her eyes going to her vanity mirror as she heard Klaus greet his little sister, she ran to it checking her face. Her eyes still poufy from sleep she quickly patted her cheeks hoping to get some color. She heard them laughing louder indicating her was further in the apartment now.
Her eyes widened to the highest degree in fear that he might see her in her favorite sleepy sheep pajamas. She took a breath looking down as she ditched her fluffy socks hurriedly pulling her clothes off and tossing them aside. Her hand reached for an emergency outfit she always had mentally planned grabbing the dress and cardigan soon after. She slipped them on forgoing her bra for now as she heard a knock at her half open door. "Just a second," she called shutting her closet door as she found some slip-ons.
She shut her eyes pinching her cheeks hoping her sleep lines had already disappeared as she counted to three stepping outside of her closet to see both Mikaelson's at her door and her bed still a mess. His sister was the first to speak, "Nik won't let me see what's inside until you join us for it." Rebekah pouted making Caroline smile bigger than before as she looked over at him taking in his appearance.
It was like he woke up looking that good she thought as he smiled back at her, "It's not nice to withhold," she said to him making his own smile grow he turned to his sister. "Would you like some coffee? It's on the counter." He asked, "Bagel, chocolate doughnut?" he asks tempting his younger sister. She smiled swiping the bag from his hand leaving the two alone as was his plan he turned back to Caroline moving closer to her, "Come here Love," he said drawing her near.
"I have to brush my teeth," she blurted as his face moved forward she moved passed him feeling his hands just barely graze her as she rushed towards the bathroom. She saw everything in a blur including Rebekah digging into the white paper bag eating the chocolate thing her brother had promised inside. She waved to her as she made it to the bathroom then reached for her toothbrush she heard him follow her inside so she quickly shoved him out with her elbow so he wouldn't watch and shut the door. After she finished she put her toothbrush back and washed her hands quickly putting her hair in a low bun before she stepped out. "Hi, uh hi," she said brushing her loose hair behind her ear as she greeted him.
He licked his upper lip before he spoke, "You're pretty light on your feet," he muttered as he moved closer to her his long steps overpowering her short ones until she was leaning against the bathroom door at his will. He looked down at her almost as if realizing her was that much taller than she was as his hands barely met her sides.
"Is that an early morning thing or," he didn't finish his sentence and slight mock tone of almost every one of their encounters because she kissed him well and good. He sighed in delight undeterred by her distraction as a matter of fact he was appreciating it as he wrapped his arms around her waist as her arms came over his shoulders. "Good morning," she said as they pulled apart.
"Now who's withholding," he said as he kissed her again longer this time taking his sweet time with mouth under his. His mind was on what his baby sister had said when she answered the door for him her amusement clear as day when he walked in surprising him with her comments. "You know she's already fallen for you right?" she asks him as she shuts the front door. He turns his head and he smiles as responds, "I'd like to think the feeling was mutual."
Klaus let her go regarding her thoroughly, her eyes bright delighted to see him, her grin infectious and that dress was as tempting as ever as he felt over the material. He felt her hands at his back and front tugging on his longest necklace. "Stop kissing or I'll eat all of the bread in this bag." Rebekah shouted from the living room her mouth seemingly full making them laugh as they made their way to her his arm at her waist.
Once Klaus had left to work for the day taking Rebekah along with him to the gallery she was left to do some work of her own happy to have a task to keep her mind off of their date tomorrow night. She huffed rolling her eyes trying to get herself to stop thinking about it but sometimes her mind slipped thinking of only him. Even with her office being a hazard she could still get some work done and was glad for it.
One because she was still too busy thinking about a certain someone and two because she didn't have to be stuck listening to her boss rant about how much better he is than everyone else the antagonistic bastard that he was annoyed Caroline to no end. She felt herself typing just that much harder on her keyboard to blow off some steam on her poor laptop as she emailed him the file reports he was supposed to do himself.
She smiled finally done with all of that nonsense as she looked over her own reports happy she had completed her own work right on time without needing to leave her home. Caroline stood up from her at home office chair and moved into her kitchen invigorated as she chased down her leftover coffee which she stuck in the microwave. She waited for it to heat up before she sipped at it with a smile on her lips as she did.
Caroline's sappiness got the best of her as she pulled her phone from her pocket unlocking the phone's screen to scroll down her recent messages looking for one in particular. Her mood lifter further in finding Klaus and his good night text to her, she shook her head as she remembered she practically fell asleep hugging her phone to her chest.
She felt her whole being bust with joy as she read and re-read his words 'Dream of me like I dream of you. ;)' Caroline felt it again her blood rush as excitement filled her making her feel unlike ever before. She felt her heart aflutter her fingers trembling at how good he was at just being him as she pressed the phone icon without noticing.
Klaus sat back as he ran a his hand down his face as he reached for his phone his eyes widened as he held it in front of him her name appearing on his screen. His office door opened but he waved away whoever it was as he turned in his chair answering the call. "Hello Caroline," he greeted pressing the phone to his ear hearing the wonderfully nervous sound of her voice on the other side.
"Hi Nik," she said in a pitchy tone, "Sorry!" she mumbled, "I guess I just accidently pushed the phone button," she explained he smiled hearing rustling at the other end. "There are no accidents Love," he alleged as he heard her stop moving about. "Thank you Mikaelson," she muttered as he span in his chair his mind diverted to the bubbly blonde on the other end.
"You know," he started resting his chin to his chest, you had to be scrolling through your phone looking for me to call me," he offered hearing her grumble as he pointed that out. "Looking at anything interesting," he asked as his eyebrows rose in glee. "Any thoughts you'd like to share about a certain someone," he pressed on as she said, "Nope, not one." he simpered thinking of how she looked right this moment.
"Not about me," he whispered spinning in his chair once more his elbows land resolutely on his desk as he moved forward. "I've been thinking about you." He admitted as he sat still speaking in a low voice a smirk on his face as she continued in her silence. "A lot actually," he sighed, "All I can think about really," he breathed into the phone his smile wavering with her silence.
He heard her accelerated breath as the vein in his neck became more prominent his blood pounding through his body with an immense force. "I changed my mind," she said hesitantly he worried for a moment waiting for her to finish he nodded his head forgetting she couldn't see him. "I am free," she said a smile it sounded like on her voice, "Tonight," she finished making his own smile return.
He almost jumped up then feeling a burst of energy run through him as his knees knocked on the desk above him. "Because I can't stop thinking about you either and I want to see you." Caroline finished lightly making him wish he was there with her, it was impossible that he had just seen her and he already missed her nearness.
She had sat down on the closest chair to her as she heard him confessing how he had thought only of her throughout the day. If she was being honest she had thought of him too, his words only seemed to enliven the butterflies in her stomach further. He made her think like a fool and dream like one too, "Are you still free tonight?" she said as she sat waiting for his reply wondering how he caused her emotions to shift so quickly from nervous to jubilance.
"I think I can work you in," came his quick reply making her roll her eyes in response knowing full well he couldn't see it as she tapped her fingers on the table top, "I'll pick you up" he said in a planning voice, "And take you some place special to me." She held her breath feeling giddy every time he spoke, "Re-introduce you to my apartment just in case you forgot where it was. We could play that clever little kissing game of yours," he said making her self-conscious.
She laughed at the memory answering without a second thought, "Or you could just kiss me," she said licking her lips as she remembered that night her body reeling in anticipation as she re-lived it in her mind feeling her cheeks warm. "And please tell me you have a better plan for our first date than your lumpy couch." Caroline said shutting her eyes remembering how his breath tickled her skin from how near he was.
"Please Love," Klaus said on the other end of the call, "You should think more highly of me. I've been planning this date since my hands met your hips." He purred into the line causing her to giggle quietly as she thought about how he moved on the floor. "You were surprisingly good out there," she paid him her compliments making him chuckle. "I'd never be as good as you were," he responded kindly.
"Well no, but it was certainly impressive to see your grumpy face look at me and smile as I moved closer to you," she said leaning back forgetting her posture. "Plus the look on Kol's face was just," she laughed as he finished her sentence, "Comedic gold." Klaus offered laughing with her, "I thought he might come down and break us apart just so he wouldn't have to pay up." Caroline said nostalgically.
She fanned herself feeling increasingly warm, "I have to go," he said softly making her smile fall as she sat up, "Speak of the devil and he will rise," he muttered into the receiver making the corner of her mouth lift. "Kol will you wait a moment I'm on the phone," Klaus huffed annoyed at his brother, "I'll see you tonight Sweetheart," he said as she played with her cardigan. "Until tonight then," she murmured disconnecting their call.
Caroline stopped what she was doing and ran to grab her phone her mascara wand in hand as she went into her room where it was charging. She frowned in disappointment when she reached for the phone and it just stopped ringing. She looked down at it reading her friend's name on it wondering why he would be calling at this time upset she didn't get to speak to him.
She heard her front door open thinking Rebekah might be back to help her finish getting ready freezing as she heard Klaus call for her. She turned her head calling out to him, "I'm almost ready," as she quickly looked at herself in her vanity adjusting her lip gloss and using the rest of the mascara on her wand. Putting it back together and twisting the mascara shut she heard her door open as she said, "I just have to call Stefan."
Klaus strode into her room without her permission she couldn't help but roll her eyes again at his smirk through the mirror as she was still bent over the table looking at herself. He walked behind her hugging her waist as she rose to greet him feeling him press himself into her as she pushed the redial. She sighed as she felt Klaus' lips on her neck reminding her that she had yet to put on her perfume.
Her thoughts were distracted as his hands rose higher o her body his fingers tickling her sides her free hand reaching for his as he whispered, "Is that your other boyfriend?" He continued kissing her as her hand came over his. Caroline didn't hear the phone line connect or Stefan answer her with a "Hello," she froze as Klaus kissed the other side of her neck before she turned to look at him.
"Boyfriend," she asked struggling with her breathing pattern before she hung up on Stefan without a reply. She dropped her phone as it was still lit and connected to the charger back on the table hastily before it fell to the floor disconnecting itself. Klaus grinned at her leaning his head in to plant a kiss on her lips, "Boyfriend." He answered in kind.
Caroline looked at him surely starry eyed as he looked back no one saying a word, words weren't needed their eyes saying all they needed to. She was falling for a man who knew when to speak and what words to use, falling for a man that read her silence perfectly and kissed her when she asked for it. Right this second Caroline was clearly asking for it and he didn't dare disappoint as he moved his lips over hers both fighting for dominance a fever taking over before their lips let go.
"I think that's what it feels like to have relief," he murmured his eyes still shut as he savored in the tingling of his lips his body cooling down, "To finally have you in my arms after a whole night of craving you next to me," he uttered as she sighed and he kissed her cheek delicately. "To have your face look at me so brightly," he looked tenderly into her eyes as he spoke to her. "Thank you for coming out with me tonight."
Together they walked out of her apartment building holding hands his fingers caressing hers as they moved throughout the sidewalks of the city. The sun's impending setting casting an orange glow over the sky making the day all the more beautiful with his girl on his arm. She had a look about her that made him feel like the luckiest man alive.
She tended to incline herself closer against him as they walked through crowded streets making his heart race all the faster as he looked down at her elated face. He bit his lips this time to make sure it hurt because he felt in a state of dreamland where everything he wanted was possible. She made him see colors in the sky both light and dark as he would present them in a canvas hoping one day for them to be real.
He glowered at any man who smiled at her in the street wanting to get her alone his moment arrived as he spotted a cab about to be vacated gesturing to it with their hands. Caroline nodded cheerfully as they began towards it beating any other competition for it without batting an eyelid. He guided her inside stepping in after her their hands never once breaking contact as he slid in further to be closer to her enjoying the feel of her warmth next to his.
The back of her head landed on the front of his chest as he gave the driver instructions his arms around her waist as she looked out of the window. Caroline felt him rest his chin above her head as she shut her eyes taking in the moment of intimacy they had found themselves in. A smile grew on her lips something that was becoming a regular occurrence when he was around. She found how easy it was to beam and feel exhilarated as she felt him close to her.
They rode in comfortable silence through the streets of the city as they ventured further into the night the sun almost completely disappearing on the horizon as he spoke. He shifted in their shared seat as he tilted his head, "Did you bring it," he asked looking down to see her response. She moved her head her eyes looking up at him, "Yes I brought it," she replied showing him her purse.
Klaus kissed the top of her head loving the way she shut her eyes at the action, "Good," he told her as they both looked back outside his own neighborhood starting to appear. His mind went to the money they both had won through Kol's bet the one night that changed the course of their lives he would say for the better as he held her as close as he could taking in her scent.
He stepped out of the car cautiously making sure there were no remaining puddles she could step in from the night before's rain. Klaus was glad to see the concrete was dry as he moved to make room for her to join him on the sidewalk paying the driver soon thereafter. "Right this way," he said taking her into his side as she held his hand wrapping it behind his back the cool air hitting them both he felt her shiver and ran his free hand up and down the length of her arm.
"Please do," she stuttered the feeling of his hands rubbing against her like spark and timber lighting a fire deep down inside of her as they continued down the pavement. She smiled when she saw the name to the small bistro Klaus told her about on the way here trying to focus on getting from point A to point B. In truth she was nervous, call it first date jitters but she was and his near proximity soothed her and made her jumpy all at once.
As they got closer she took in the little details of the old building, the framework and etched décor outside took her breath away from how he had described it perfectly. Klaus opened the door his hands letting her go as he led her inside the warm establishment. She already like the atmosphere as she stepped closer to the hostess booth along with Klaus beside her.
Klaus cleared his throat thinking it more appropriate than ringing the bell in front of her for not paying attention. Right away she looked up, "My name's Sophie" the brunette waitress greeted brightly meeting their eyes directly. "Your name," she asked looking at them both with a tilt of her head her hands already reaching for the reservations book in front of her.
His mouth upturned as he looked from her to his date then back again leaning forward to reply, "Forbes, Caroline," he said to the hostess politely ignoring Caroline's question glance in his direction. She nodded to him looking briefly at Caroline before she went to work searching for the given name her eyes displaying the moment she found it on the second page.
"Alright party of two," the woman affirmed looking up Caroline's name in confirmation and reading the description right off of the page, "Right this way," she said reaching for their menus her hair flipping as she did before she moved away from her station to lead them to their table. "You used my name for the reservation," she asked quietly hissing at him as she put her hand out to keep him from following Sophie.
"Yes," he whispered back taking her hand in his and kissing it to soothe her, "They asked me for a name and yours sounded better at the time," he answered as they began to follow the brunette hostess to their table. "Couldn't stop thinking of you means couldn't stop saying you name." he informed her as they were lead further back into the bistro to one of the more isolated tables.
Caroline sipped her wine listening intently to Klaus' story about growing up in a place where he didn't feel accepted either at home or at school. She learned just how many Mikaelson's were running around and that only one of his siblings was married. They were half through the bottle of wine before he would admit the best part. That was when he told her he went to an all-boys school during his formative years making him averse to certain types of people and customs.
The more she drank the less nervous she felt especially after her meal arrived making sure she would not feel drunk soon glad for it when she took a bite of her food. She set aside her wine glass already feeling too good to mess it up with more alcohol sipping her water instead, "So overall Rebekah is your favorite because you basically raised her," Caroline said taking another bite of her fish.
She pictured it the idea of a family taking care of one another made her wistful about her own past the vino in her system messing with her emotions. She shrugged it off mentally returning her attention to Klaus, "It makes sense she's exactly like you and you said you had part-time parents." Klaus nodded in agreement making her smile.
He sat quietly after she spoke and she felt as if she should add something else, "Just so you know she's lucky to have you in her life," Caroline said sincerely reaching across the table to take his hand in hers. "It's insane that your older brothers and you raised Kol and her." She tilted her head her eyebrows lifted, "Despite a lot of things they turned out good because of you," she said noticing him blush shaking off her compliment.
"Hey," she spoke as his eyes met hers, "I'm being honest here," she said scooting closer to him her hand cupping his face, "I wish I had that growing up. I was all I had until I met Stefan when he moved into my hometown at like age nine." She kissed his cheek, "By then I had already gone through so much with my own parents, especially my dad." Caroline said reflectively as she tried to perk back up.
"I thank you for that but there was only so much I could considering I was practically a child myself so I don't really see it as an accomplishment." He explained what he had thought for so many years before a swell of pride growing in his chest at her words either way. "But it means a lot to me that you could see the good in people," he kissed her lips, "In me."
He placed a hand on her chair's leg moving it closer to him so he could have her next to him as he uttered, "You are truly magnificent." Caroline looked down blushing as she tried to play down his own paid compliment shaking her head as she looked back up into his eyes.
"I'm just ordinary," she said plainly looking at the edge of the tablecloth wanting to believe his endearment no matter how much it sounded like a line. She turned her head to look at him his reaction to her comment, Klaus looked at her like he didn't believe it even though she felt it as clear as day. His hand came up over her own on his face squeezing it gently for a moment before he tugged on her hand placing it on the table.
His other hand traced the lines on her palm just barely touching her skin making her fingers tremble as he watched from under half-hooded lashes. "You're extraordinary," he stated quietly as his finger traced the vein in her wrist up her arm knowing he had her full attention. "Unlike anything or anyone I've ever known." He murmured leaning in closer their dinner forgotten her breath shaky as he invaded her space.
His face was inches from hers as he said, "I doubt highly there will ever be someone like you ever again," she swallowed his words as he lovingly kissed her lush lips the feeling thrilling him to the bone. Forever the same and always changing as she kissed him back applying a sweeter pressure, setting the pace for them both making his lungs plead for air and depriving them of it.
When dinner was finally finished Klaus sent for the check his smile was as sweet as he could get it to be as the waitress left and Caroline sipped the last of her water. Caroline handed him the folded bills she had been harboring in her jewelry box as she held back a juvenile giggle when he kissed the back of her hand as he took it. He paid as soon as he could while she sat in her seat smiling like a goof her face reflecting his own as she hid behind her glass until the waitress left.
She looked over at him and he winked back at her from his place next to her feeling in her heart that she had just fallen into love with this man. After dinner was paid by Kol's hand months later Caroline and Klaus exited the small dinning spot happily walking one another through the neighboring area. They crossed the busy street sticking closely to one another as the horn of a car blared behind them.
Klaus blinked quickly as he spotted the car as it moved faster than the limit thinking quickly he turned his head to her seemingly unaware of it. He moved Caroline from out of harm's way before he turned on the speeding car that had almost put their lives in danger. Klaus wanted to hit the hood of the car his eyes hard from the fright the driver had given them glaring after the car as the red light turned green. He then moved towards her feeling her skin cold as she looked him over making sure he wasn't hurt as he wrapped his suit jacket around her arms as they walked the last block to his apartment.
"Turning into quite the night," he murmured into her hair as they found his building she shook her head at how cheesy he could be sometimes deciding on not commenting as he opened the building door for her. "I'm sure you remember the way," he assumed with a grin as he gestured for her to go through first finding their way to his floor.
She proceeded down his hallway spotting his apartment like it was yesterday she was roaming the halls with him with liquor in their hands. The numbers illuminated by the faded out light of the walkway as she stopped Klaus moved ahead taking his keys from the pocket of the coat she was still wearing to unlock the front door letting them both into his humble home.
The door screeched like it always had, "Just like I remember," she said in belief as she walked in turning her head to look at him as she uttered, "Homey." Her mouth upturned on one corner as he shut the door amusedly shaking his head at her words as he began to remove his cufflinks to roll up his shirt's sleeves. He didn't bother with the lights as he watched her moved about the room taking in the vases of different flowers he had on display for her.
She stopped at the one farthest from him by the lamp where she tugged on the cord illuminating the white flowers in front of her as she stuck her nose in a flower smelling them. He heard her take a whiff as she smiled, "These are my favorite," she hummed as her hand went to one of the flower's stems before she looked at him half her lip in her mouth as she fought to keep her smile to herself, she straightens moving to him he thinks but he's wrong instead she sits herself on his couch.
Caroline felt faint as he pushed the sleeve of his arm revealing his skin to her in a completely unsexual way that stimulated her senses. She crossed her legs as she watched him do the same on his other arm flicking her tongue at the top of her mouth fascinated by the way he undid his collar his necklaces revealing themselves to her.
She simpers lowering her chin as she watches him an arm across her stomach her other hand supporting her chin as he realizes she's been watching him. His lips stretch joyfully as he ducks his head almost shyly caught under the weight of her stare. His lungs having trouble with keeping his breathing in check as he wet his lips removing his tie completely.
She enjoys this side of him like she enjoys every part he reveals of himself to her because she didn't plan to fall for him at all that night. Or this night and every night since she met him but here he was thoroughly taking over any life plan she had for herself when he completely caught her off guard showing up at her door step and completely knocking her off her feet. He moved closer as she uncrossed her legs making room next to her for him to join.
Klaus sits down unable to keep his heart from wanting to burst from his chest as he feels her move closer to him making herself at home in his embrace. His arms welcome her body onto his own as she lay over his chest her warm breath is felt over his shirt making him try to hold back a chill. He realized that even with his life and business in order that is the one thing he has no control over.
What he feels for her, he thinks as the shiver passed through him anyway while he pressed his chin to her hair inhaling her intoxicating scent. His eyes shut as he enjoyed the moment the both of them in content silence as the minute hand on the clock ticked by. She yawned softly making his eyes peer down on her as she placed her hand over her mouth and then on his chest.
His fingers traced her skin drawing shapes or simply running up and down a pleased part of him wanting to stay like this always perfectly gratified with her over him like this. He kissed the side of her head down to her face as he moved back to look at her, "If you fall asleep," he whispered grabbing her attention, "It wouldn't be the worst thing you know," he said as she looked up at him.
She smiled softly patting his chest with her hand as she shut her eyes, "I'll remind you when my make-up is on your shoulder," she sighed her fingers playing with a button on his shirt. He wanted to stare at her, he cursed having to blink for missing that one little fraction of time he went without her as he did. She looked as if she was contemplating something.
Her eyes opened then blinking twice before they looked up at him her body not moving an inch, his eyes met hers looking at her with the same intensity she showed him. "I think," Caroline said, "I uh," he silenced her then with a kiss smiling as he did because he knew where her words would lead. "Me too," he said pressing one last kiss to her perfect lips.
She smiled as he moved again standing up she went to follow him but was surprised when he picked her up. "No sleeping on the lumpy couch tonight," he murmured into her ear as she wrapped her arms around his neck. Klaus held her securely in his arms as he moved to his room his hand pushing the door open as he slipped out of his shoes and shut the door with his foot.
She kissed his nose as he moved his leg up to the bed placing himself on it for support as he lay her down in front of him. She was a beautiful present, he thought as he watched her move to her side as he climbed on the bed after her. He lay down next to her hearing her soft breaths right until Caroline fell asleep in his arms. "I love you Caroline," he said out loud as he smiled before he shut his eyes following her into a slumber.
"Good morning Love," he murmured against her cheek unable to sleep any longer as she lay in his bed he kissed her behind her ear brushing her hair aside. She moaned her body stretching underneath him as his hands placed themselves on either side of her face a growing smile on his face. "Morning," she answered back moving her hand to cover her mouth in an effort to hide her morning breath. She smiled as she felt him lie on top of her his hand moving to her face.
He took her hand in his moving it from her face as he entwined their fingers his other hand coming down to support him on his elbow so he wouldn't fall on her. "Don't do that," he enticed her smile unwillingly matched his as she looked anywhere but at him to keep it from growing further. The happiness of the morning seemed to be unending as she tried to use her other hand to cover her face his own nose pushing it away as his face hovered over hers.
Caroline shut her eyes feeling the side of his face graze hers devotedly tempting her into opening her eyes to him. "But it smells bad," she replied a small whine in her throat as his nose touched hers his eyes shuts his lips just an inch away. She felt that if she tilted her face up she might just kiss him he opened his eyes a part of her thinking he read her thought as he removed her hand entwining it with his own as he did with the other. "But then how will I kiss you?" he whispered.
Her breath, her words lodged in her throat as he moved further tilting his own head taking them from her and any other opportunity after that. He stole her breath with his sweet kisses as she opened her mouth to him wanting more which he greedily gave to her. Caroline's fingers squeezing his with such a pressure as she pushed up from his bed their sheets falling to her waist.
He moved to his knees as she continued to push upwards until she let go of his hands wrapping them around her back before her hands went to the nape of his neck and into his freshly cut hair. He groaned as her knees met his making him sit on the backs of his calves so she would sit on his lap. She tugged on his lower lip nipping him with her teeth before she sighed, "I love you."
